I Love Promarkers Challenge 404 - Ikes Art

It's Wednesday so time for a new I ❤ Promarkers challenge!  The theme this fortnight is

And we are sponsored by Ikes Art.  I've used Lilac and coloured it with Promarkers plus added some tiny lilac, purple and white half pearls to the flowers.  This is for an 8th Wedding Anniversary which is denoted by flowers.

7th Anniversary

I was asked to make a Wedding Anniversary card and as its their 7th year, it seemed very apt to use Flossy from Dr Digi.  Because 7 years signifies wool!  I've used Promarkers to colour and various dies from my stash for the fence, card base and grass.  The heart is an X cut die and I mounted that and the sign onto some offcuts of kraft card.

Sentiment is computer generated and added with cocktail sticks.  You'll have to excuse the charm not being straight - I clearly did not notice this when taking the photo!  I'd like to enter the following:

Sew Anniversary!

In case you didn't know, February is the month of everything love and what better way to celebrate than a sale! There are 5 Love themed downloads to buy from the Funky Hand store for just £1 each during February!

I've used I Love You Sew and all are scraps from a previous project and as I hate to throw any bit away, I knew I'd be able to use them at some point - there is always method in my madness!

Jellypark Challenge - Anything Goes With A Jellypark Image!

It's time for a new Jellypark challenge and the theme is: Anything Goes With A Jellypark Image! So you need to use a Jellypark image on your creation - there are lots in the store and all at a reasonable price plus if you join the free club then you have access to a freebie every month!

I've used Middle Aged Couple Cuddling and coloured it with Promarkers. I was asked to make a 30th Wedding Anniversary card for a work colleague to give to her husband and this is what I came up with!

I'd been given a lot of information on holidays they had been on and places they had visited plus some more personal items which I've included. The papers are from by Dani - Hello World and the little camera charm I bought from ebay. I handwrote the sentiment on the tag and also the date on the heart.

The card went down really well and both were pleased with it! Good luck with the challenge!

Perfect Pair!

I treated myself a few weeks ago in the huge Sizzix sale (who can resist a sale?!) and I bought a few dies and embossing folders - I've yet to get with technology and the latest craze as I'm still very much attached to my Original Red Sizzix machine that I bought around 7 years ago.

Anyway, one of the dies I bought was a Sizzlett pear for under £2 and I've made this card with it:

For some reason I stuck the pears on wrong - they were supposed to be angled together at the top!  I've used a Nesties die for the circle and another Sizzix die for the little tag.  Ribbons are from a Christmas reel from Lidl (there are 3 ribbons on it all linked together with wooden apples and beads - I just stripped the bits off that I didn't want!)  The Happy Anniversary stamp is a retired one from Lili of the Valley and I hand wrote the one on the tag.

I quite like this die - various papers were used and inked which was great as it got through a few scraps!  The red seeds are daubs of Anitas paint that I've had for years.

Simply Create Too Challenge 35 - Use Your Stash

It's time for another Simply Create Too challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

I was asked by my cousin Claire, who got married last year to make an Anniversary card for her husband Ross.  They generously gave me all the left over card, ribbon etc from when they made their Wedding Stationery so that is what I've used for the card - plus the first Anniversary is Paper so I thought it quite apt!

I've double layered the card blank and added dotted liquid pearls around the edge.  I've layered two hearts in the centre and then punched lots of other hearts from the same card and also the vellum (inserts for the stationery).

I've slightly curled the vellum hearts and then added a half pearl to the centre.  The ribbon is also from the Wedding stationery (place cards) and the sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley.

Rather pleased with the card especially as I used virtually everything from their Wedding too!

I've used the wonderful Cheap Valentine digi which has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little inking around the edges. The sentiment is computer generated and all the papers are Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 digi paper pack. And the beaded ribbon is from my stash (since I've tided it all up I've found all sorts of stuff that I'd forgotten I had!)

I think I'd be pleased to get a bunch of (wilted) flowers and a box of chocs for either my Anniversary or for Valentines day as it seems to pass some people by!!

Dude Time Doodles - August New Release & Blog Hop!

It's the last Wednesday of the month so its time to reveal the new Dude Time Doodles images and to kick it all off we have a blog hop for you!

I couldn't resist making this image into an Anniversary card! The image is called 'Hand It Over' and is available to buy in the store. I've coloured it with Promarkers and added some Divine Twine from The Ribbon Girl, a computer generated sentiment and the papers are all from Funky Hand - Funky Daze cd.

Tweet Anniversary

And I've used it to make an anniversary card. The red backing paper is from Patti Picklicious from Kirsty Wiseman (I just love this pattern!) and I've layered a piece of clear vellum over it once it had been through the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

The two birdies are from two Honey & Hugs stamp sets which I've highlighted with a red Promarker as they looked a little odd just stamped!

The red ribbon is from my stash. A bit of corner rounding and inking, plus some fine black dots around the edge of the image and the card is complete!

Rubies and Tin

A very timely challenge on Daring Card Makers this week, as it is:

Birthstone for July is Rubies

On Sunday (11 July) it is my Mum and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary which is traditionally a Ruby Anniversary. And today is our 10th (tin) Wedding Anniversary!

And even though I've known for quite some time that I would need to make a special card for my parents, I've still left it to the last moment. To the point that I could not sleep last night for thinking about it, so got back up at 11:15 and made the card whilst peace and quiet reigned throughout the house! I was in danger of gluing my fingers to the table by 1:15am so went back to bed.

This is a very similar layout to the Sapphire Anniversary card I made a few months ago, but as it worked and I liked it, I decided to replicate it here! The photos are scanned copies of their Wedding ones so I could get them to a workable size.

My Mum and Dad look so young! My Mum actually made her own Wedding Dress and her two sisters were Bridesmaids and she made those dresses too! It's quite sad but touchingly funny when I look at the group photo - both sets of Grandparents are no longer here - my maternal Grandparents died in 1977 and 1979 so I have good but limited memories of them, whereas my paternal Grandparents died in 1997 (the week we got engaged) and 2004. The funny ones are my Aunts and Uncles who look so dashing in 1970!

I've used My Mind's Eye Bella Bella 12x12 double sided papers (only used the pattern) plus lightly grained red 12x12 cardstock. The cream ribbon and gems are from my stash, with the red stain edged organza bought especially for the card.

All the paper flowers are from Hobbycraft and they are such a good buy and look so realistic!

The next photo shows where I'll write the message. I actually forgot that I would need somewhere to write to show who it is from....

Oh, the hat pins I've made myself!

On Sunday, Mum and Dad will be in competition with the F1 British Grand Prix and the World Cup Final. They should have known that 40 years ago!!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 22 - Retro Anniversary

It's Friday again so another Polkadoodle Challenge! It is Lou's Wedding Anniversary this week and she has set us the task of making an Anniversary card with a retro feel plus to use some stamping.
I had a little moment when I realised that my printer was out of ink so had to improvise fast! I used a Wedding Favour that I got at my cousins Wedding last year as a template, using linen effect white card. I inked all the edges with a faded black inkpad and then used the Christmas Doodles (for the gift on the tag) and Daisy Doodles stamps.

I also used the sentiment tag from All Around And Everywhere that I had previously printed and not used and added a bit of glitter glue - which as you can see had not dried by the time I took the photo!

I've added some gems to parts of the stamping for added bling. The stamping came out looking a little shabby too, which worked with the edge inking!

To finish off, I've added an eyelet to the tag and some ribbon from my stash.

Blue Sapphire

I was asked to make a very special Wedding Anniversary card by an old school friend of my Mum's - it was to be her In-Law's Sixty Fifth Wedding Anniversary - and could I make a special card?! Of course! So I did a bit of research (google!) and found that a 65th Anniversary is Blue Sapphire, so I used those colours as the theme.

I made a Joy Fold card as I wanted to incorporate some photos of when the couple were courting which I tidied up in photoshop before printing onto photo paper. All the backing papers are Basic Grey and are from the Wisteria Collection. The base card is a lovely linen effect cream 300gsm card that worked wonderfully well with the theme. The bow on the ribbon hold the front of the card down but is flexible enough to let the card be displayed.

The flowers I bought from Hobbycraft and they are beautiful handmade flowers and look very lifelike! The gems I also bought for the occassion along with the blue satin edge ribbon.

The verse was asked to be included on the card and I've printed it on my computer with a font and colour to match the overall card. The blank panel inside the card had an insert upon which the message could be written and then stuck inside the card as it would be a little tricky to write it directly onto the card with all the flowers on the reverse!

I made the hatpins myself and used some pearl beads that were left over from making my Wedding dress 10 years ago.

My Mum and Dad celebrate their 40th - Ruby Wedding Anniversary this summer so I now know what I'm going to make - just will substitute the blue for red!

The card also fits the current challenge on Charisma Cardz of a Wedding or Anniversary card.

Anniversary Celebration

Charisma Cardz are celebrating their first Birthday and along with the challenge this week they have a blog hop!! I've entered the blog hop (who wouldn't?!) and their challenge this week is:

I've used the brand new cd from Polkadoodles - which hasn't actually been released yet - just a perk of being on the DT!! It has it's release on Sunday on Create and Craft with more details in my sidebar.

The printed discs and the sentiment are from the cd Love, Marriage and More with the gems and lightly embossed red card from my stash.

This is a fantastic cd especially if you like strong patterns and lots of swirls and attention to detail - it is aimed at Weddings and Anniversaries etc but is very versatile and can be used for virtually any occasion!

I'd been asked to make a Wedding Anniversary card and decided that this colour combination would work really well. I've used two of the split sheets from Patti Picklicious but used each of the patters. I've layered the chocolate brown pattern onto some matt gold card so it stands out a little more.

The ribbon is from my stash and I've made the pin using sequins and little gold balls. The heart brad is from my stash. I have used this particular layout before, but I do like it!

Autumn Anniversary

The Pink Elephant challenge this week is

There are so many different collections that I could have used for this, but I have been asked to make a Wedding Anniversary card and to use autumn colours, so what better than to combine it with this challenge!

The papers are from Patti Picklicious and I've printed them onto 300gsm linen ivory card, rounded edges and lightly inked them too. The ribbon is from my stash as too the hat pin, beads, brad and heart charm.

Fortunately, as the card is in landscape, it holds up under the weight of the charm! I actually think I bought the charm in a pack of 6 from B&M Bargains but they are really study!

I am really pleased with this card, so I think I'll be making more that are similar as a set for my up and coming Christmas Fairs on 21 November and 6 December. I may have to buy more ribbon though. Ah well!!

Golden Wedding Anniversary

The Inspirational Sketches challenge this week is this sketch:



I was asked to make a special Golden Wedding Anniversary card and decided to use the sketch (basically I was struggling what to do!) So two Anniversary cards in a week can't be bad!

The backing paper is Papermania 6 x 6 Simply Elegant which I have slightly trimmed down to size, rounded the corners and lightly inked. The two ribbons are from my stash (one was already handily tied!)
The numbers have been cut from gold card and then gone through the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and added onto two nestie cut shapes. The wording on the lighter brown nestie shape has been cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set and the little heart is from my stash.

I made the two wire and bead hearts and purposely kept them a little random and not too heart shaped.

Wedding Anniversary

The Sketch and Stash current challenge is this sketch:

And I have made a Wedding Anniversary card for a customer - it is actually a 10th Anniversary, which is tin or aluminum so I've gone with the silver pearlescent vellum to represent tin! I've used my slightly neglected Cuttlebug embossing folders - swiss dots and the swirls one and I've used my brand new Nesties! I have used them on a card earlier in the week, but this was my first play with them! I just don't blog my cards in the order of making! The ribbon is also new and was perfect for the card! The vellum is long neglected stash - I bought it a few years ago along with some gold as it was really cheap!


Anyway, the little people have been recreated from a photograph of the bride and groom 10 years ago and I've actually used a piece of real veil on the bride!


Most of the clothes have been hand cut - I've not used a die for many of them, or where I have, the cut part from Sizzix dies have been adapted to suit my needs. The champagne glass is confetti and I've added various seed beads to the brides head dress and gown.

The sentiment has been computer generated and I've used a nesties die to cut and emboss it.

Warrington & Minnie

Was asked to make a card for a 30th Wedding Anniversary. My brief was that they both supported Warrington Rugby League, loved Disneyland and she liked flowers. The backing vellum paper I bought on a whim ages ago from here, knowing that I'd be able to use it at some point!


As it was a Pearl Wedding Anniversary, I've used fake pearls strung onto wire and threaded through the organza ribbon. And I've used an eyelet too!

Madonna, West Ham & Maroon People Carrier Anniversaries

Recently commissioned Wedding Anniversary cards. The one above was requested by a West Ham supporter and he wanted his wife to be dressed as Madonna wearing the cone bra. Apparently she is a Madonna fan.

And the other, commissioned by Pauline had to feature the couple's son who supported Manchester United and their new maroon people carrier!
