Crimbo Crackers Challenge 86 - Santa

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Santa

I've printed this very cute pre-coloured Santa from Work and Play 5 - Festive Hollibobs cd from Polkadoodles directly onto my card stock.  I've then added glitter around the edges of the card plus some on Santa himself and added a snowflake charm with a length of embroidery thread.

The cd has quite a few pre-coloured characters which are ideal for making quick and easy cards like this!  Good luck with the challenge and don't forget the rules!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafting For All Seasons:  Christmas In July
Fab n Funky:  No Patterned Papers
Inky Chicks:  Metal Embellishment
Crafty Boots:  Christmas In July

School's Out!

This is one of a number of thank you cards I made for the boys' teachers this year - Jacob requested 6 and Samuel wanted 4; this one was for one of Jacob's teachers. Image is from Tiddly Inks - School Boy - which I've coloured with Promarkers.

I've handwritten the Sizzix tag, attached it with a foam pad, doodled a line around the edge of the card and added a little silver ruler charm; bakers twine is also from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Tiddly Inks:  Summer Song (School's Out - Alice Cooper)
Through The Craft Room Door:  Anything Goes
The Paper Nest Dolls:  Anything Goes

Your Future

Sometimes you need an old wrinkly lady in a gaudy tent to gaze into a crystal ball to confirm your future. If you need this in your life then spare no haste and make your way to the Dr Digi store to purchase Mystic Mabel.

I made this card for a work colleague who was leaving for pastures new, combining the image with fairy lights and papers from Echo Park - Summerdays.  Image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've added Clearly Besotted grass die cuts and I made the sign myself.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Floating By

I've used the From The Heart Stamps monthly progressive challenge image - Inner Tube Birdbrain, coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue, although you can't really see it!

I've kept the card rather clean and simple - coloured the sky with a faded inkpad and also the same one (with a bit more gusto!) for the water.  The sentiment also comes with the image and I printed that directly onto the card too.

Charm is from my rather extensive ebay stash; the embroidery thread and organza ribbon is also from my stash.

Skating By

Well, I kinda need to start on the Christmas cards - my stocks are not as robust as I'd like so decided to use the From The Heart Stamps sketch along with this rather fab digi - Skating Birdbrain and coloured her with Promarkers plus added a little sparkle (rubbish lighting - weather is appalling for July!)  Added a little lift with foam pads.

The background is a combination of Memory Box dies and Clearly Besotted - I managed to combine the two together, mainly by luck!

The charm is from my rather extensive stash (thanks to ebay and China!) and the embroidery thread is from the poundshop.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

My Time To Craft:  Christmas In July
Creative Corner:  Christmas In July
Winter Wonderland:  Use A Charm
Crafters Cafe:  Christmas In July
From The Heart Stamps:  Sketch followed (there are 4 'hills' in the scene!)

Deedee's Monthly Progressive Challenge - July 2015

I'm playing along again with Deedee's progressive monthly challenge and this month it is the Ice Cream Truck set that is being offered.

I decided to use the cute circle sentiments which were pre-coloured.  I cut them out using a Spellbinders die, layered them onto a scalloped edge die cut - I coloured these with Promarkers to match the ice-cream!  And finally added the cocktail stick and a little bit of glitter to the ice-cream.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Pretty In Pink

Another Lily of The Valley pre coloured squares, this time I've chopped it down a little so it would fit on the card blank, added some stickles here and there and finally layered it onto some hot pink card from my stash and also holographic card (recycled tissue box).

I've added tiny liquid pearl dots around the edge of the card and then cut bunting from the pink card and layered curled vellum over the top.  To hid the glue marks I've dolloped some liquid pearls and then pressed a small hot pink pearl into it.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Walking The Plank

I have quite a few of the Lily of The Valley pre coloured square images in my stash and it's about time I used some of them!  This is a rather cute one and I've just layered it onto some black and red card and then used other scraps from my stash plus some thin twine.

The sentiment is a Funky Hand acrylic stamp and I've cut the number 6 with a Sizzix die although forgot that the pressure would flatten the ripples!  Everything else is from my stash.

Green and Blue

Another card ticked off the list for a six year old!  I've used a cute Tiddly Inks image - Birthday Boy and I've used Promarkers to colour plus the die cuts and the background circle.

Dies used are Spellbinders for the circle, X Cut for the stars and Clearly Besotted for the sentiment.  The larger letters are random ones I found in my stash and coloured to match!

Stripy paper was also a random find in my stash!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

If it's worth waiting for then it must be good!  Never more a true word said about a Birthday Cake from Dr Digi and this one is one on it's own!

Hmmmm, I'm hungry!  Sentiment is from the Birthday Sentiments 01 sheet.  Papers are from Funky Hand - Funky Daze and I've layered the offcuts with black card.  Everything else including the spoon and fork charms are from my stash.

Crafting Musketeers Guest Designer - Anything Goes

A while ago I won a challenge over at Crafting Musketeers and I was asked if I wanted to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge.  Well, that future challenge is here and the theme is:

Anything Goes

The sponsor is Crafty Ribbons and I used the 35mm fuchsia satin ribbon to tie around the top of the treat jar and to make a nice big bow!  The jar was for a stall at the school Summer Fair - fill it with treats (this one has jelly beans and lollies in (plus a mini bag of haribo's to stop it all from jiggling around!)) and it could be decorated.

So I used off-cuts from Funky Daze cd from Funky Hand - varying sizes of a circle die used, some stuck directly onto the glass with glossy accents and some added with foam pads for extra depth.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

2 Creative Chicks:  Anything Goes No Cards
Crafty Time:  Die Cuts or Punches
Digi Galore:  Summery / Bright
Recycle, Re purpose and Reinvent:  Anything Goes
Sugar and Betty:  Anything Goes

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 85 - Something Cute

Time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Something Cute

The challenge is sponsored by Dee Dee's Digis and I've used Dashing Through, printed the image and one of the sentiments directly onto the cardstock.  Added a little sparkle with glitter glue, embossed the edges of the card and added the organza ribbon and charm.

Good luck with the challenge, for more details please pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

CRAFT Challenge:  Christmas

Light Bulb

The lightbulb digi is great for when you're in a hurry.  Or have a good idea for a quick card.  Plus its currently a freebie in the Dr Digi store - so no excuse not to use a number of puns!

I've shaded the image with a black fineliner pen - the one in the store is just an outline.  Charms, cord and half pearls all from my stash.  The oval has been cut using an X Cut die.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Hi There!

I've been on a roll this weekend and managed to catch up with some card orders I have - my laptop  is not behaving and won't work so instead of faffing around on the t'internet I've been colouring!  Having to use another pc to blog - the keyboard is awful to use so hopefully my laptop will be working again soon!

I've coloured this Tiddly Inks image - Hi There Boy with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and also coloured the little background behind him.  I discovered the Cuttlebug embossing folder in my stash and dread to think how long I've had it as this is the first time I've used it!

The number 6 I've drawn and then coloured with Promarkers plus a little faux stitching around the edge.  The string is also from my stash along with the half pearls.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Coffee and Aqua

I'ts been a really, really long time since I joined in with a challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  I had some papers on the table that I really liked the look of - Coffee With Pals from Now That's Funky cd from Funky Hand (its only £1!!) so I coloured the Tiddly Inks image - Anna Belle Birthday Wishes with a combination of Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

I've layered the papers onto some chocolate brown card I had in my stash plus used a little charm, embroidery thread and organza ribbon to finish it off.  The number 6 is a Sizzix die cut and I've coloured it with Promarkers to match the theme and then added lots of glitter glue.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too - Challenge 89 - Midway Inspiration

The Simply Create Too challenge is at its midway point so time for some inspiration!  The theme for the challenge is:

Christmas

So here is an exploding box I made last year.  The large silver glitter snowflake on the back of the box is an Christmas decoration - all other snowflakes are Marianne Creatable die cuts which I've added with wire and then docorated with glitter glue and a half pearl.

All the ribbons are from my stash along with the two charms.  I made the fancy sides of the box with a Spellbinder die and then glued then onto the box - the ribbon hides any joins.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Tangled Tinsel

There really is nothing worse than getting your tinsel in a tangle. Well, apart from the fairy lights having a loose connection. And not leaving a mince pie out for the big fella.

Be prepared for the festive season with a side splitting selection of Christmas quips by going to the Dr Digi store and purchasing Christmas Sentiments Sheet 01 - and all 14 sentiments can be yours!

Sentiment has been printed directly on to the card stock, made the bottom fancy and added stickles around the edges.  Half pearls from my stash along with the tiny tinsel and very glittery snowflake - which along with the tinsel are left over tree decoration January sale bargains from a number of years ago!

Scraps

I bought a bargain pack of Lily of the Valley pre coloured images a while ago via the ebay store and as usual, I just put them away and forget about them. However, I've been asked to make 5 boy age 6 cards and 5 girl age 6 cards.

So, I decided to have a sort though my stash to see what I had and came across this cute image - pre coloured so great on saving time!

I've used a kraft card blank then papers from my stash (I have a feeling these are from Polkadoodles and are from a Christmas cd!) added extra kraft layering (from a Graze box packaging) and used my X Cut die to create the stars.

The sentiment is from Funky Hand - Your Special Day acrylic stamp set (only £1!)  The number 6 is a Sizzix die and I've glued two together for extra depth.

Patriotic Treat Jar

This is one of 4 jars I decorated for the boys' school forthcoming Summer Fair - the brief was to fill a jar with treats and decorate!  I managed to use scraps from my stash - the red and blue papers are from a Funky Hand cd and I've used my X Cut die to make the stars.

And of course, the jar is recycled (dare I say that I found it in the kitchen cupboard with an expiry date of August 2010......)

Some of the stars have been directly stuck onto the jar with glossy accents and others have been added with foam pads for extra depth.  Ribbon was a recent purchase from ebay - a little treat for myself!

These are nice and quick to make - filled with jelly beans (the ones from Lidl as they are only 99p for a big bag and are just as good as the real thing!) plus a treat bag of haribo's to stop everything from jiggling around.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge:  Red, White and Blue
Brown Sugar:  Red, White and Blue
