Crimbo Crackers Challenge 145 - Anything Goes

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is nice and easy:

Anything Goes

I've used a kraft card blank and then with offcuts I've added a Marianne Creatables snowflake die cut and Sizzix thinlits.  The mitten is my own template and I've used papers I found in my stash plus the off cuts made the bow..  I've hand cut the holly and the berries are embellishments from a posh set of crackers from a few years ago.

The bell I bought as a set from ebay and the little lego man was personal to the recipient!  A bit of light inking and faux stitches with a black fine liner pen and the card is complete!

Little Footballer

I'm quite enjoying the new A5 X Cut honeycomb embossing folder I treated myself to.  I've used a scrap piece of card for the background and then layered it onto some black card from my stash.

The topper is from Lili of the Valley - it's one of the small squares so I've layered it onto some more black card and then added grass, using a Marianne Creatables die (it's actually icicles but upside down and in green it looks like grass!)

The sentiment is a retired Lili of the Valley rubber stamp and the number is a Cuttlebug die, layered onto an ebay die and another Cuttlebug die to get the right sized layers.

Blue Mini

Here is a cute shaker card I made especially for a little boy who loves his cars! It had to be coloured with blue Promarkers as his Daddy is a Man City supporter!  You can get the Mini Cooper image from Dr Digi for only £1.

I've used an X Cut die for the oval shape and also the stars.  The snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die.  Sizzix die cut tag has been handwritten and I've added organza blue ribbon from my stash.

And of course, liquid pearl dots around the edges!  I've used a combination of blue seed beads for the 'shaker' stuff and some fake glittery snow which I bought a large bag of a few years ago really cheap because I knew I'd use it one day!

Guitar Hero

From time to time I get asked to make quite personalised cards and here is one of them.  The brief was for a 28 year old male who loves guitars and to add the sentiment as shown.

So, Kenny K Guitar Rocker digi was called upon.  Coloured with Promarkers and a scrap of stripy blue paper I found in my stash, layered onto some very shiny blue card that I've had for an absolute age.

All the snowflakes are Marianne Creatables plus I added a wooden snowflake over the blue one.  Stars are from a cute little X Cut reindeer die and I handwrote the sentiment.

Polkadoodle Challenge - Christmas Paper Weaving or Anything Goes

Good morning!  Time for a Polkadoodles challenge and the theme is

The Design Team were challenged to use a Christmas Paper Weaving Theme.  I've printed two of the silvery grey papers from Winnie Winterland and used these to weave a background - I lightly distressed the edges of the strips before weaving for a more shabby chic feel.  The image is also from the same download (pre coloured), printed onto linen effect white card.  Everything else is from my stash

A Cuddly Good Luck!

I made this leaving card for a teacher who loves pandas!  I've used Cuddly Critters Panda from Dr Digi and coloured it with Promarkers with glitter glue on the nose and glossy accents on the eyes.

The grass is a combination of a Marianne Creatables icicle die and a Clearly Besotted die.  Letters are Sizzix Round-a-Bout which have been covered in pink glitter glue.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 107 - Anything Goes

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and to keep things easy, the theme for the fortnight is:

I've used papers and image from Polkadoodles - Work and Play 5 - Festive Hollybobs cd.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and added glitter glue.  All papers are from the cd and I've layered onto silver card, added some silver string, a charm and a snowflake Marianne Creatables die.

To finish off, I've added a dotted line around the edge of the image with a blue gel pen and a faux running stitch around the papers with a white gel pen.

Flossy

You can always rely on Flossy from Dr Digi to wish someone a hearty 'Good Luck'!  Coloured with Promarkers and added to the card with foam pad for depth, I've also added a faux running stitch around the edge of the card with a fineliner pen.

The fence die cut is from my stash and the grass is a Marianne Creatables icicle die (upside down it makes great grass!)  Letters are Sizzix dies that I've glittered.

We are at the half way inspiration point for the current From The Heart Stamps sketch challenge.  I've used For Santa Birdbrain and coloured it with Promarkers.  Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder has been used along with 3 different dies to create the layered snowflake.

Blowing Kisses

Another card ticked off the list for Christmas! Made using a cute Blowing Kisses image by From The Heart Stamps which I've coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue.  I found some spotty pink card in my stash which matched the image colours perfectly.

Layered snowflake has been cut with 3 different dies - Memory Box, Sizzix and finally on the top a Marianne Creatables and a pink half pearl to finish.

Everything else is from my stash and I've handwritten the sentiment tag.

LIttle Snowman

I'm on a roll with Christmas cards - I've got a rather long list of cards that I've been asked to make and this is another tick off the list! I've used Little Snowman by From The Heart Digi Stamps and coloured him with Promarkers plus glitter glue.

I've cut him out with a Nestabilities die plus used a Sizzix and Marianne Creatables layered die cuts for the snowflakes.  The star is also a snowflake but I've chopped the 'prongs' off!  Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and I found some tiny sequins in my stash so added those too.

From The Heart Stamps - Sketch 119 - Inspiration

A while ago there was a DT call for From The Heart Stamps and as a big fan of Faith's work, I decided to apply and I was selected!  So my six month term officially starts in October, through to March but I decided to join in anyway with the planned sketches.  So here is my little bit of inspiration for the current I {heart} sketches challenge #119.

I've used Christmas Spirit Birdbrain and he has been coloured with Promarkers plus glossy accents on his nose and eyes and a little glitter glue on the whipped cream in his mug.  The sentiment also comes with the digi.

I've embossed a panel of cardstock with a Cuttlebug folder then added the dots with a silver gel pen.  The snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die and the coloured card and half pearl are from my stash.

Here is the sketch for you to follow along with the twist - either is optional but you must use one of them and of course a From The Heart digi.

Snowman's Stocking

I have a rather long list of Christmas card orders (yes, already!) so need to get cracking. I do find that when I need inspiration, its so much easier to find a sketch challenge - usually because my mind is already onto my next card and what to use!

This image is From The Heart Stamps - Snowman's Stocking and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus a little glitter on the hat and also for the snow.  You can't see, but I've also added glossy accents to the hearts.  And because it needed something to 'hold' it together, I've added a dotted line of liquid pearls around the edge of the image and also the card blank.

I've added ribbon and bakers twine from my stash and hand wrote the Sizzix tag and finished it off with a Marianne Creatables snowflake die and found some tiny half pearls in my stash (I have a feeling they have been languishing in my box for some time!) that matched the colour scheme.

Froche Weihnachten

** Update - I've changed the sentiment on the card after realising I'd added an extra C - I'd randomly printed two sentiments, one correctly spelt and one not and yep, guess which one I added!  Now all changed!! **

I've got a rather long list of Christmas cards on order to make this year so have made a start, and this is one of them. The sentiment is by request as it is to be sent to a German family.  I've used the August progressive challenge digi by From The Heart Stamps - Candy Cane for Snowman.

I've used Promarkers to colour plus watercolour pencils for the background; added glitter glue and glossy accents.  All the coloured card is from a really nice foolscap sized pad from Lidl (25 sheets for £2!) plus a piece of silver card from my stash.  Both pieces have been embossed with Swiss Dots.

I've added ribbon from my stash, the snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die and I've also used half pearls, again from my stash.

Beryl

There is nothing more satisfying than getting out on the open road, the wind in your hair and the feel of all the flies splattering against your goggles.

Luckily this does not deter Beryl the Biker - anything to get away from the rat race!  The digi is available from Dr Digi and I've coloured her with Promarkers, made the road signs from images on the internet (plus one of my own).  Grass is a Marianne Creatables icicles die, clouds are Memory Box dies and I've hand written the banner myself.

I've added a '2015' charm and also a motorbike charm - both from my rather extensive stash!

The Simply Create Too challenge is at its midway point so time for some inspiration!  The theme for the challenge is:

So here is an exploding box I made last year.  The large silver glitter snowflake on the back of the box is an Christmas decoration - all other snowflakes are Marianne Creatable die cuts which I've added with wire and then docorated with glitter glue and a half pearl.

All the ribbons are from my stash along with the two charms.  I made the fancy sides of the box with a Spellbinder die and then glued then onto the box - the ribbon hides any joins.

The lovely retro signage was part of a tissue box (yes, I did buy the tissues just for the box!) and I have been known to root through a whole shelf to find an interesting design that I can reuse!

Sizzling Sausages

Ah, a typical British summer. You know when the mercury is rising when the unforgettable smell of sizzling sausages wafts through your open window. However, BBQ Bill from Dr Digi has issues more often than not with his sausages and he just cannot fathom out why they never look as good as the serving suggestion on the pack......

I've coloured Bill with Promarkers and printed the background brick effect paper from Polkadoodles Work and Play v2. The advertising sign is one side of a box of tissues, which I bought especially to use with this image and the box has sat on my desk at work for quite a number of months until it finally ran out of tissues! And the grass is a Marianne Creatables die - it should really be icicles but I think it looks great as grass too!
