Polkadoodle Challenge - Easter Interactive

It's time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and this week the theme is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenged to an Easter project so here is mine using a slimline card that is thinner than a DL (I bought some bargain envelopes a few years ago so need to use them up!) using scraps of card.  The image has been coloured with Promarkers - Too Cute Bee Heart Basket digi and I've used the Flower Trellis stencil and I found some really old inkpads in my stash but they were not in the least bit dried up!  I've handwritten the sentiment onto the banner from the Posydoodles Tags die set cut from a scrap of card - and to make the bee wobble, I've recycled a piece of acetate from a shirt collar packaging.

Good luck with the challenge!

Eat Cheese

As a vegetarian, I could not resist this sentiment.  Made using Tough Turkey from Dr Digi and coloured with Promarkers.  I've recycled an old Graze box from a few years ago as its really nice thick card and the patterns and colours are always useful!

I've stamped the sentiment using an alphabet set and the half pearls are from my stash.

Polkadoodles Challenge - Anything Goes or Christmas Gift

It's time for a new Polkdoodles challenge and the theme is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenged to make something to hold a Christmas Gift, using kraft and ribbon.  I've used a sheet of A4 Kraft card to make the gift box and then to hold it shut, I've made a band from an offcut of printed paper and added a thin strip of red ribbon around the middle.  The topper was cut using one of the Stitched and Pierced Nesting Circle dies and then with kraft off-cuts I used the Holly and Spruce die to make the leaves.  The berries are recycled from fancy crackers we had a few years ago - they were too nice to throw away!

Good luck with the challenge!

Daring Card Makers Challenge - Recycled

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme this week, which has been set by me is

Recycled

I do a lot of recycling, at work and at home and I don't like to throw anything away if I think I can reuse it for a craft project in the future!  So, for this, I've used a vintage map - the kind that came with a magazine in the 1960's and you collected a different part each week or month.

I made this gift bag with gusseted sides and twine handles.  The tag was made with an offcut, layered onto kraft card with a kraft star (X cut die) and a wooden car shape added.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Birthday Bird

I couldn't resist the current Bugaboo challenge - BINGO so made this quick card with Birthday Bird from Bugaboo and coloured him up with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue on the cake.

I've also added glossy accents to his eyes and then added X Cut die cut stars using various scraps from my stash plus the sparkly stars used to be a tissue box.  The sentiment has been stamped with a set from my stash.

I've used the top line on the bingo card - sparkle/ stitching / sentiment.  The stitching was done with a black fineliner pen.

I'd like to enter the following:

Daring Card Makers - Recycle

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme for the week is

Recycle

I tend to keep a lot of the shop bought cards that are sent to us as I know I can recycle and reuse them some day!  Here I've used two cards to cut the X Cut stars and all the letters.  I had to be creative with how I cut some of the words and letters due to the patterns!

The large letter dies are unbranded and I've added glossy accents to the top.  The word happy is also unbranded and I've cut it twice for a shadow effect.

I've also used some offcuts of card for the base - I keep all my scraps as you never know when you'll need them!  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

As You Like It:  Dies or Stencils (I have a lot of dies and they are so easy to use)

Morning!  Here I am with the third and final installment of my recent Making Cards spread!  This time I've used Faldaree Deirdery and coloured her up with Promarkers.  I've also added UFO by means of a strip of acetate and the sentiment is from the Mothers Day Sentiment Sheet 01

I've recycled an old road map for the base and used a circle die folded in two as the rocker.  Charm and embroidery thread from my stash.

Daring Card Makers - October Elemental Inspiration

It's Friday so time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme, as it is the first Friday of the month, its a Elemental Inspirational challenge.

You need to use at least 3 of the elements - colour counts as one choice.

I've used the colours, plus the pattern (top row third from left), leaves, recycling (the bottle) and text.

The aqua cardstock was a card blank that I cut down and I used a PaperAtsy oak leaf die to cut out of an old Graze box which I've added some waxed cord to tie them together/  I've used the offcuts of the cardblank as a scalloped pattern with offcuts of a printed paper pad underneath.

The gold dew drops are from my stash and the sentiment is an X Cut die, cut from a scrap of chocolate brown card.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

The baking tray has been cut and then Card Candy added to look like cookies!  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Time for a new Colour Crazy Challenge!  This week we are sponsored by the wonderful Dr Digi and I've used Christmas Chris as he makes me chuckle every time!

I've coloured him with Promarkers and added glossy accents to his nose.  I found the gold card blank in my stash when I was having a clear out and the stripy card is the back of a Graze box which I've cut with one of my wavy stitched edge dies.

Half pearls, red parcel twine and the two charms are from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 132 - Recycling

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Recycling

I've taken two panels from a box of tissues (is it just me who looks out for stuff that can be reused afterwards?!) and then layered them onto some silver card and then onto red card before adding to the card blank.

The ribbon is from my stash - I have a feeling it is from Tesco a number of years ago, and the wooden snowflakes are from Sainsburys.

Nice and quick to make!  Good luck with the challenge!

Daring Cardmakers Guest Designer - Grocery Packaging

This is my last week as Guest Designer for Daring Card Makers - I've really enjoyed the two month stint and I've been taken out of my comfort zone once or twice and I've also firmly been in it too!  Thanks for having me!  This week, the dare is:

Use Grocery Packaging

Now this one had me stumped a little as I couldn't think what to use or how to use it.  Until I washed a pork loin chop packaging from Lidl and realised how nice the middle bit was at the bottom!  So I've cut a shape with the packaging, following the handy guidelines that were already there and added it to a top from a Graze box.

The sentiment rosette I recycled from an old Birthday card and the stars are cut from the Graze box and also packaging from a box of chocolates.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Sundae

Ok, so January is all about eating well and not being naughty however this Sundae from Dr is totally calorie free!  And even better, this one is the coloured version - I've added some sprinkles (seed beads) and layered it onto a panel recycled from a Graze box (had to be creative with the positioning due to text on the panel!) and then added to a scalloped card blank that I found in my stash when having a 'tidy'.

Liquid pearl dotted edges made with Docrafts liquid pearls - they are thicker dots than Ranger; half pearls from stash.

Recycled and Birthday Tags

Time for more inspiration over on Facebook with Dr Digi!  I've made some tags with Birthday Sentiment Sheet 01.  I've printed two sentiments onto some recycled kraft card - I added a faux running stitch around the edges with a black fine liner pen.

I shaded the letters on the bottom tag and added X Cut star die cuts from the reverse of the Graze box I recycled.  I found some black dewdrops in my stash and added them - they are still blokeish!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
