Last Tree In The Shop

Here is a card for those who leave getting their Christmas Tree until the very last possible moment.  Having said that, one year our tree did look like this come Christmas Day as all the needles dropped off!  I've used Last Tree In The Shop from Dr Digi and coloured it with Promarkers.  I've been having a sort out with all the craft papers I have printed and found these in my stash - they are that old that they've been retired!

The base card is from a great pack I bought a while ago from Lidl and the ribbons and charm are from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following:

Daring Cardmakers Guest Designer - Grocery Packaging

This is my last week as Guest Designer for Daring Card Makers - I've really enjoyed the two month stint and I've been taken out of my comfort zone once or twice and I've also firmly been in it too!  Thanks for having me!  This week, the dare is:

Use Grocery Packaging

Now this one had me stumped a little as I couldn't think what to use or how to use it.  Until I washed a pork loin chop packaging from Lidl and realised how nice the middle bit was at the bottom!  So I've cut a shape with the packaging, following the handy guidelines that were already there and added it to a top from a Graze box.

The sentiment rosette I recycled from an old Birthday card and the stars are cut from the Graze box and also packaging from a box of chocolates.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

From The Heart Stamps - Stamp Of The Month - Lucky Lil Birdie

The current From The Heart Stamps progressive Stamp of the Month challenge is ongoing and the cute image this month is Lucky Lil Birdie.  I've coloured it with Promarkers plus added tiny iridescent green gems to the centres of the shamrocks.

The sentiment also comes with the image and I've used some green and black card from my stash to layer the image.  The scalloped card blank is from The Works and I've used some green checkered ribbon from Lidl along with bakers twine and a charm from my stash.

If you play along each month with the progressive then you'll receive the next months image for free!

I'd like to enter the following:

Lego

I've got lots of Birthday card requests on the go and usually I have a number of different projects that I work on at the same time and this was one of them. I've made a lego brick card using an X Cut square die plus a 'bubble' from a die I bought from ebay.

The highlight is added with a white gelly roll pen and the sentiment has been stamped with a rubber stamp I found in my stash during the big tidy up / clear out before Christmas.

Bugaboo Holiday Chaos 2016 - Day 7

Yeh! I've made it! Day 7 of the Bugaboo Holiday Chaos challenge!  The theme for the final day is to follow a bingo board.  I've gone for the vertical line of Glitter / Bling, Snowflakes and Non Traditional Holiday Colours.

I used this image - Snowflake Reindeer Silhouette earlier in the week but I'd printed two onto the card stock just in case I made a mistake with one.  And because I like the image so much, it was easy enough to use for this challenge!

I bought some glitter stickers from Lidl, not realising they were for windows (doh) but they are so pretty and sparkly that I decided to add them to a sheet of acetate I found in my stash which layered over the front of a card blank.

Ribbon and half pearls from my stash.

To be honest, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do all 7 days of the challenge - half of the photos I've had to take under the kitchen lights as I don't see daylight and I have a long commute each day which means I'm shattered when I get home - up at 5am and home for around 7pm plus everything else that goes on in a busy house!

However, I have done it and I'm pleased that I have!

I'd like to enter the following:

Pudding

You can almost smell it. No, not the sprouts but the fantastic Christmas Pudding!! And unlike most Christmas Puds, this digi can be bought all year around and for the bargain price of 50p from Dr Digi! Go on - you know you want to!

Great for those pesky male cards too! I've used a kraft card blank and coloured the pud with Promarkers and added some ribbon I bought from Lidl!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Perfect Pair!

I treated myself a few weeks ago in the huge Sizzix sale (who can resist a sale?!) and I bought a few dies and embossing folders - I've yet to get with technology and the latest craze as I'm still very much attached to my Original Red Sizzix machine that I bought around 7 years ago.

Anyway, one of the dies I bought was a Sizzlett pear for under £2 and I've made this card with it:

For some reason I stuck the pears on wrong - they were supposed to be angled together at the top!  I've used a Nesties die for the circle and another Sizzix die for the little tag.  Ribbons are from a Christmas reel from Lidl (there are 3 ribbons on it all linked together with wooden apples and beads - I just stripped the bits off that I didn't want!)  The Happy Anniversary stamp is a retired one from Lili of the Valley and I hand wrote the one on the tag.

I quite like this die - various papers were used and inked which was great as it got through a few scraps!  The red seeds are daubs of Anitas paint that I've had for years.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 33 - White On White

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

White On White

I will allow a tiny bit of colour plus gold or silver!

I've used a Penny Black stamp - Fantasy - that I bought with a gift voucher I won from Simon Says Stamp in the summer and my intention was to make a large batch of Christmas cards with it to send to family.  And I never did - just ran out of time!  So shamefully, this is the first time its seen ink!

I decided to heat emboss and used some silver powder that I bought when I was making my Wedding invitations around 13 years ago!  And the embossing pad that I use is still farm fresh and not in the slightest dry!

I'm not sure if its me or if the tree looks a little wonky - I've always thought that the trunk should be straight but looking at it here I'm not sure!

Anyway!  I've layered it onto some silver card I found in my stash and had to add the ribbon (Lidl) carefully to hide the join.  The snowflake charm is a recent purchase (Amazon voucher so it does not really count!) from the Bead and Button Company - be warned - they have a lot of stuff that could jump into your basket!

Three half pearls from my stash and edging of the image and card with stickles and the card is complete!

I've just eaten a cinnamon jelly bean.  Teach me not to look at the flavours before I shove them in my mouth.  Bring back Root Beer flavoured beans too I say!  And McDonalds in the UK too!!!

Good luck with the challenge, for more details, pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 26 - Pink

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge!  And the theme this fortnight is:

Pink

Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  I have a fab sponsor for this challenge:

And Anice has giving the winner of this challenge this Our Betty stamp set - thanks Anice!

If you've not visited Funky Hand recently then you'll not know about the fab new Christmas themed downloads that you can buy as part of the Oh Come All Ye Crafters collection.  There are 8 paper and 8 wordbook collections in total plus digi stamps and all are being released over the coming weeks.  And even better, you can buy the same themed paper and wordbook collection as a bundle and saving you money!

I've used the Santa Baby paper collection for my pink festive Christmas stocking and I'm feeling rather pleased with myself as this is one Christmas card I can tick off the family list!  This one will be for my niece Niamh who will be three at the end of November and is not really a pink little girl but I'm sure she will like all the sparkle and glitz on this card! Plus I don't get chance to indulge much in my pink side with having two boys - any excuse eh?!
I've used my own stocking template and added glitter glue to all the edges.  The snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die and I've covered it with glossy accents and then sprinkled glitter on it.  The beads and silver string came from a roll of fab ribbon from Lidl - its three strands all in one and they can be separated too - great value for money!

Good luck with the challenge and for more details pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 34

It's time for another challenge at Fetch A Sketch and Lou is our hostess this fortnight!  The sketch she has drawn is below and because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month we are also asking for your creation to show some pink!
I do like nice and simple sketches and also ones where you don't always need to add an image!  I've used Echo Park Be Mine Papers along with some wide satin pink ribbon from my stash, some silver cord and a dangly blingy gem!  The silver cord and gem are from a ribbon spool from Lidl which I bought in the January sale - the spool actually has 3 different ribbons intertwined on it along with some gems and beads!
The half pearls are from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge and don't forget the pink!  For more details on the challenge and for more inspiration, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
