Forgotten Funkies - Summer Wedding

The last Friday of a month sees the Funky Hand Design Team showcase a Funky Hand product and this month it is the seasonal Summer Wedding download. It's full of lovely papers in muted citrus colours - just perfect for Summer Weddings! You can buy the alphas on their own or if you prefer, just the papers, or if you want both, you can buy them both in one combined download for just £2.99!

I've made a simple template for the bunting - one slightly larger than the other and used three of the papers, printed onto linen effect white card. I've added a faux stitch with a fineliner black pen and then layered up the bunting with foam pads - the larger ones underneath.

The bakers twine (you get loads for £2.49 - 20 metres!) and the sentiment is from the Our Betty - Your Special Day clear stamp set.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Whimsy Garden Fence

When I printed this image - the progressive monthly freebie from From The Heart Stamps - I didn't realise how big it would be so decided to make it the whole card! This is called Whimsy Garden Fence and I've coloured it with Promarkers then layered it onto an offcut of card so that the base has something to write on but the top part is shaped - did that make sense?!

And thats it really! Nothing else to it!

Happy Bird-day!

A quick card made with a From The Hearts Stamp image I'd coloured some time ago (when I had spare time!) I've used Birthday Candle Birdbrain and used Promarkers for colouring plus glossy accents and gold stickles.

The sentiment came with the digi stamp and I've used pale blue card from my stash and buttons and embroidery thread too. Some faux stitching and three pretend brads, and the card is complete!

I've used an X Cut oval die to cut out the image and also an X Cut star underneath one of the buttons

Polkadoodle Challenge - Things With Wings

The Polkadoodle challenges now last for two weeks and there is Design Team inspiration for both weeks. The theme for the challenge is Things With Wings and I've used papers from the Fredericka cd - both the pretty butterfly and the spotty paper. I also printed the butterfly paper onto thick card and cut out some of the butterflies and layered them up, adding wire and a pearl as I went.

I've layered the butterflies over the ones on the gift bag and also added a half pearl to the ones that I did not layer. Hope that made sense! I've used a Martha Stewart punch that I've had for a number of years and ribbon from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge and don't forget that the 5 Year Birthday Celebration Blog Hop is still on - click HERE for the original Polkadoodle post to get you started on the hop!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge - No Designer Paper

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is No Designer Paper. The challenge is sponsored by the fab Dr Digi! I've used the Xmas Pud digi (bargain at 50p!) coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the berries.

I've cut down a kraft card blank and made the card into a gift card - there is a little pouch inside for the gift card to be added.

The little letters are from my stash as I felt it 'needed something!'

Good luck with the Crimbo Crackers challenge - for more details pop over to the blog!

Age Is Just A Number ........

........In your case a really high one!

Professor Dummkopf from Dr Digi doesn't mince his words!

Sentiment taken from Birthday Sentiments Sheet 01. And just incase your eyesight is fading, the sentiment is rather large on the card!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and layered the sentiment onto offcuts of card and used a sheet of acetate for the base. Quite simple!

Pesky Felt Flowers

There is nothing worse than trying to glue felt flower layers and they just won't stick! I've used a fab From The Heart Stamps digi - Birdbath Chick, coloured it with Promarkers and some stickles.

The papers are a mix of Funky Hand and Echo Park that I found in my box of bits along with Nursery Rhyme from Debbie Mumm. The flowers are cut from felt and I've used various Cuttlebug dies.

I did, in the end get the glue to dry - I put the card in the sun!

Simply Create Too Challenge Midway Extra - Anything But A Card

The Simply Create Too challenge is part way through so its time for some extra inspiration! The theme is Anything But A Card, and here is my take on the challenge:

The papers are all from Funky Hand - Dreams Come True cd (a bargain at £6.99!) including the flowers which I've printed off larger by selecting an area and then copying to word and enlarging.

I've added half pearls to the flower centres and handwrote the sentiment on the tag.

Good luck with the challenge!

Winning Birthday

Well, what do you send a bloke who has it all? A Winning Birthday card of course! Made with the Trophy image and computer generated text its sure to be a hit! And the best thing is, the image is in the cheapies section over at Dr Digi so its a right bargain!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers, added computer generated text and found some papers in my stash that quite frankly have been there for an age and needed using up - and perfect for the card! Some faux stitching and its all done!

Fading Beauty Gift Bag

Anice from Funky Hand has come up trumps again with this wonderful digi paper download - Fading Beauty! With wonderful faded pinks, greens and a touch of chocolate its a collection you'll be using a lot! I've made a cute gift bag from one sheet of A4 card which has been scored and folded to create the bag.

I've used a Sizzix flower die and then cut it into four to create the petals; I then dabbed them with a damp cloth, scrunched them and left to dry before assembling. The leaves were handcut with the veins added and then scrunched up a little.

Ribbon, brads and clear gems are all from my stash. Some faux stitching and its complete!

Jellypark Challenge - Anything Goes With A Jellypark Image!

It's time for a new Jellypark challenge and the theme is: Anything Goes With A Jellypark Image! So you need to use a Jellypark image on your creation - there are lots in the store and all at a reasonable price plus if you join the free club then you have access to a freebie every month!

I've used Middle Aged Couple Cuddling and coloured it with Promarkers. I was asked to make a 30th Wedding Anniversary card for a work colleague to give to her husband and this is what I came up with!

I'd been given a lot of information on holidays they had been on and places they had visited plus some more personal items which I've included. The papers are from by Dani - Hello World and the little camera charm I bought from ebay. I handwrote the sentiment on the tag and also the date on the heart.

The card went down really well and both were pleased with it! Good luck with the challenge!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge - Christmas Red

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is Christmas Red. I've made this cute card using a Jellypark image, coloured it with Promarkers and added a Memory Box snowflake wreath die cut behind.

The red card for layering is from my stash along with the ribbon. The snowflake die is from Marianne Creatables and the tags are Sizzix diecuts. And I've added the punched heart from one of the tags to the centre of the snowflake. Oh, and the sentiments are handwritte.

Good luck with the challenge!

Popping A Wheelie

Ah, Malcolm really misses his Chopper. It was his pride and joy and he rode it at great speed through the Municiple Park with the other youths (although he could pass for early 20's he really was pushing 50). Still, he's not lost his touch despite being in his 80's, and here he is popping a back wheel wheelie in his mobility scooter.

Mobility Malcolm from Dr Digi is still causing mayhem but now on four wheels. I've coloured him with Promarkers, used a brick wall backing paper from Polkadoodles Work and Play cd Vol 2. Sizzix die cut grass and fence and the sentiment is from Dr Digi too.

Lots of Luck

A good friend and work colleague will be leaving soon and I've offered to make the farewell / good luck card for us all to sign. I've used Lucky Birdbrain Chick - From The Heart Stamps, coloured with Promarkers (and glossy accents) and used DCWV Retro Stack 6x6 papers along with cardstock from my stash.

The ribbon is also from my stash and I've made a series of loops and then threaded more ribbon through to tie so it looks fancy! A few matching half pearls here and there and some stickles around the edge of the image and its complete!

I added one of the sentiments that comes with the image on the inside of the card and I've made sure there is plenty of space for everyone to write their well wishes!

The image is quite apt as she keeps chickens too. Although I don't think any will be as good looking and trendy as this chick!

It's our 5th Anniversary at Polkadoodles - time really has flown! And to celebrate we have decided to do something a little different!
