5 Years of Polkadoodles Celebration Giveaway!!!

It's our 5th Anniversary at Polkadoodles - time really has flown! And to celebrate we have decided to do something a little different! Lou and I are were part of the original Design Team right from day one along with Kath and En and I was so pleased when Nikky asked me to join her team! So thank you Nikky (and Kris!)

So to celebrate in the way that Polkadoodles does best, is to have a blog hop across the 5 of us but its no ordinary blog hop!

Nikky decided to design a special Digistamp for each of us 5 'Originals' along with a great little paper bundle which was also designed specifically for each teamie to co-ordinate with their kind of style. And to tempt you during the blog hop, each of us has some fab Polkadoodle candy to give away.

Here is my digi stamp used on an altered notebook which I KNOW will come in useful for all the lists and notes and reminders I need to keep! I'm always busy - either with work or crafting or my boys so the image is quite apt (although I don't wear such a fetching outfit!)

Birthday Blog Candy!

Get Funky Challenge 7 - Girls, Girls, Girls!

It's the first of the month so it's challenge 7 on Get Funky! The lovely Dolly has set the challenge this month and it is:

I've used Dreams Come True to make my creation - all the papers you see plus the outers of the 'spools' are from the Award Winning collection. One of my cousins will be 30 at the end of March so I've made her this as a card and cake (calorie free!) combo. So Claire, if you are reading this - STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least look surprised when I give it to you!!

This really was easy to make - the outer parts of the spools I've double sided printed onto some lovely thick linen card and used a compass to make the circle 2cm in diameter larger than the spool. The spools have been covered with 160gsm card which has been printed onto so it bends easy enough!

This is the back view of the tower:

All the ribbons are from my stash and I've made the hat pins myself from beads in my stash.

I've tried to make a slightly different bow or finish to each layer. Good job it didn't go to 6 layers as I was running out of ideas!

The very top of the tower has thin double sided strips of card that have been wound around a pen whilst the glue between the layers was still wet so it retains the curl.

The very centre is one of the circular flowers from the bottom layer.

After a week of mad, frantic changing, moving, deleting and uploading, my website is finally ready! Not all my cards are listed yet but I'm aiming to add batches every day. I also have my little characters which are popular on custom cards as I can create them to look like the recipient!

On The Horizon ...

.... will be some blog candy! It's been a while since I gave anything away, and I have 3 things in quick succession to celebrate. How Many??!!

Well, I've just noticed that I've gone past the 5,000 hits on this little blog - and I've only been counting since 5 August so I missed the ones since I started blogging in April.....

Anyway! I'll put together some blog candy over the weekend to celebrate this momentous occasion and will be back early next week with some stringent rules and regulations on how to enter!!
