Fetch A Sketch Challenge 60

It's time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge and the sketch is:

Dr Digi is the fab sponsor and here is my take on the sketch.  I've used the Cuppa digi stamp (its currently a freebie on the website!) and coloured it with Promarkers.  Papers are from the A to Z mega collection  by Samantha Walker (I bought it on a One Buck Wednesday deal at Jessica Sprague some time ago and its got a lot for the buck!!)

A little bit of doodling here and there and the card is complete - simple but quirky!  Good luck with the Fetch A Sketch challenge, for more details, pop over to the challenge blog!

Funky Hand New Release - Boys Will Be Boys and BLOG HOP!

Are you ready for a new download from Funky Hand?  Following hot on the heels of the Christmas downloads earlier in the month, we now have a boys themed one - Boys Will Be Boys!

But that's not all as Anice has drawn a fab little robot called Bot!  He's available to buy for just £1.49!  Boys Will Be Boys paper pack is only £2.99 and there are loads of papers - some are shown above - plus standard single colours too for layering and matting.

Here is my card that I've made with the papers download:

I've inked the edges, added some recycled string, made the 'brads' (marker pen with a dab of glossy accents over the top!) and handwrote the sentiment.  Oh and used two cocktail sticks too!

And now for the hop!  If you've arrived at me from Lou then you're going in the right direction!  But don't worry if I'm your first stop - as long as you leave us all a comment as you hop through, including one on the Get Funky Blog and you'll be in with a chance to win a copy of the download!

Leave me a comment and then hop over to Sam!  The hop ends at Midnight 1 October GMT, so don't delay - hop today!

And if you can't wait to see if you've won the download - go on, treat yourself!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Up, Up and Away!

I'm sharing a card I made some time ago but forgot to blog - its a Jellypark stamp called Flying A Plane.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents over the windscreen and goggles!  It's attached to the card with a spring so it wobbles around!

I was struggling for ideas for the backgound until I noticed a strip of offcut from the A to Z Mega paper pack that I'd used on a different project and realised that it was perfect!  A few Sizzix die cut strips of grass which have been inked and the card is complete!

Bobbing For Apples

Here is a cute image which is part of a monthly progressive challenge From The Heart Stamps.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and then watercolour pencils for the sky and grass.

I've added some papers that I found in my stash and then some organza pink ribbon.  I've kept the image as the focal point as I didn't want it overshadowed with fussy papers!

There's a new challenge over at Simply Create Too and the theme for the fortnight is:

Fall / Autumn

I've gone for the colours and used a pre-coloured freebie image from an old Papercraft Inspirations magazine plus papers from Dovecraft Sugar and Spice 6x6 paper stack.  The sentiment came with the image and I've added some flowers from my stash along with a brad plus ribbon was a generous donation from my cousin!

Good luck with the challenge - for more inspiration, pop over to Simply Create Too!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 51 - Embossing

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge!

The theme challenge this fortnight is:

Embossing

I'm sponsored by Funky Hand and the winner of this challenge will get to choose a download from the store! And there will be a blog hop over at Funky Hand on Monday to launch a new download! Don't forget to come back to my blog as I'll be part of the hop!

As part of the Funky Hand Design Team I get to play with all the products and in my card I've used papers from the Silent Night download - and I've used my Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder on the bottom half of the card.

The loopy ribbon was a freebie that I've had for some time along with the gold organza. And the star is a Christmas tree decoration that I bought a few years ago in the January sales because I knew I'd be able to use it at some point! And it's light enough too - perfect!

Good luck with the challenge!

Bath Tub Bliss

Deirdery can finally relax in the tub knowing that the lock has been mended on the bathroom door. And she is taking full opportunity of the situation by reading the local rag. And she doesn't care if it gets damp!

It would be perfect if she could reach her cup of tea and if the leaky shower head was mended....! Bath Time Dierdery is available to buy from Dr Digi! I've coloured her with Promarkers and added stickles and liquid pearls here and there. I've made her quite large and cut around her to make the card!

Jellypark Challenge - Sentiment Is The Key

New Jellypark challenge! Plus two new release stamps as well (which, with a bit of luck I will blog over the weekend but if you can't wait, head over to the store now to purchase - and only £1.25 each too!) The challenge theme for the fortnight is:

Sentiment Is The Key

So we want to see a big sentiment on your creations! And mine doesn't get much bigger than this:

I've used the Calendar Sentiment set - you get each of the months as shown for a titchy £2.25! You can either use them as a small sentiment, or go big like I have!

I've added some extra die cut stars and I honestly cannot remember what papers I've used! I've added some silver 3-d paint for a more manly effect (some blokes don't appreciate glitter!) and that's about it! Oh, and a bit of faux stitching too.

Good luck with the challenge!

Polkadoodle Challenge 38 - Candy Colours

It's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge and the theme is:

Candy Colours

I've kept it rather clean and simple this week! I've a stack of little envelopes that I need to use up as I bought them in the January sale as they were really really cheap - 4p (although they did come with little Christmas cards that were really naff - I did only buy them for the envelopes!) for 20 or 25 in a pack. So I indulged and bought rather a few.

So, this brings me to these little cuties - I made 3 cards from a sheet of A4 card and printed one of the images from the fab Bonbon Belles straight onto the card and embellished with half pearls, stickles, embroidery thread and a button. Really quick and simple to make!

Good luck with the challenge - we've dropped the 10 limit challenge rule and will be picking the winner each week by random generator!

Housework

Now don't go sympathising with Deirdery Dunderton when she tells you that its a thankless task trying to keep Dunderton Mews spick and span.  She runs the household like its a military operation - even the daffs stand to attention on the occasional side table.

But then again, housework will suck the life out of you.  So don't say she didn't warn you!

Deirdery is available to buy either coloured or uncoloured from Dr Digi and the coffee table can be bought as part of a bundle with Feet Up.

I've used a page from a paint catalogue for the background - it's either B&Q, Crown or Dulux!  I've handwritten the sentiment and handcut the speech bubble from a bit of card.  And both digi's have been coloured with Promarkers.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 59

It's time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the oh so simple sketch for this fortnight:

We are sponsored by the very fab Scribbles Designs and two of the Design Team have joined in - pop over to Fetch A Sketch to see their wonderful creations!

Here is my sample:

I've used Flower 4 which has been printed directly onto the white linen cardstock and then coloured with Promarkers. I've used an old Studio G acrylic stamp for the sentiment and drew round a Nesties die for the shaped bottom! A bit of inking around the edges and the card is complete!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 50 - Quick and Easy

I'm having some real issues with Blogger and different interfaces - I schedule the posts and they either disappear or move on a year!  And half the time I have to use the html code tab as the 'compose' button does not work for me!  I've not been available today to check that the post has actually published so I'll have to find a way around that in the future!

Anyway, there is another new Crimbo Crackers challenge! The theme for the fortnight is:

Quick and Easy

And to show you just how quick and easy it can be, I made these 4 cards (variations on a theme) in about an hour!  I've used the same oh so cute Jellypark image - Angel Girl Nativity which I've coloured with Promarkers and added glitter glue to the wings.

I've also added glitter glue around the edge of the card.  Layered the image with offcuts of various coloured card and cardstock and then made the embellishment with a die cut and then a little star in the centre.  Minimal colouring and quick embellishments - the glitter glue took longer to dry than it did to make the cards!

Good luck with the Crimbo Crackers challenge - for more details pop over to the blog!

Dunderton Academicals

Ah, those were the days when a football was a football and not some plastic gimmick. Mind you, if the ball got you in the wrong place it was game over....

Some of the old boys still play although the crowds these days are not what they used to be due to the new fangled technology which pipes the match right into the parlour.

For those who need a quick card in a hurry - this image is pre coloured and can be bought HERE from Dr Digi.

The sports background is from CraftsUPrint and I've made the rosette myself!

Perfect Pair!

I treated myself a few weeks ago in the huge Sizzix sale (who can resist a sale?!) and I bought a few dies and embossing folders - I've yet to get with technology and the latest craze as I'm still very much attached to my Original Red Sizzix machine that I bought around 7 years ago.

Anyway, one of the dies I bought was a Sizzlett pear for under £2 and I've made this card with it:

For some reason I stuck the pears on wrong - they were supposed to be angled together at the top!  I've used a Nesties die for the circle and another Sizzix die for the little tag.  Ribbons are from a Christmas reel from Lidl (there are 3 ribbons on it all linked together with wooden apples and beads - I just stripped the bits off that I didn't want!)  The Happy Anniversary stamp is a retired one from Lili of the Valley and I hand wrote the one on the tag.

I quite like this die - various papers were used and inked which was great as it got through a few scraps!  The red seeds are daubs of Anitas paint that I've had for years.

Funky Hand New Release and Blog Hop!

There are some new releases over at Funky Hand in preparation for Christmas!  There are two downloads and four digi stamps!  And to celebrate, the Design Team are having a little blog hop and one lucky winner will receive both new Christmas downloads and all four digi stamps - the bundle is worth over £11!

I've already shown a few makes from Sleigh Ride - here and here - and the other new digi paper pack release is Silent Night.  Both paper packs have a set of A4 papers plus wordbook so you can get so much more out of them and if you are careful, you can use the less Chrismassy papers for other makes!  The new releases are not available until after Sunday but you have the blog hop between now and then!

I've made this wordbook with Sleigh Ride - simply picked the letters I wanted, cut them out and layered the pages to make the wordbook.  The glittered letters at the bottom are Sizzix die cuts and I've added glitter glue over the top.  Also added glitter glue around each of he large letters and used up lots of freebie ribbons to tie it all together!

I do like making wordbooks as they are fairly quick and easy to make and always look stunning!

Right, back to the hop!  You'll need to hop around us all and collect the letters we provide, unscramble them and rearrange them to make a word.  To enter you'll need to follow the instructions on Get Funky!  You'll have to be quick as the hop is only live for a day - closing date is Sunday 8 September at midnight GMT!

If you've arrived at me from Lou then you are on the right track!  The letter you need to collect from me is

D

Don't forget to leave me a comment before you hop on over to Sam who will give you another letter!  If you've arrived at me and wondering what is going on - please start the hop at Anice so you don't miss any of the letters!

Good luck!

First Day At School!

Here are two quick cards that I've made using the fab Jellypark image Boy With Sign and coloured them with Promarkers.  The card on the left I've made the little boy look like he has curly hair, just like the recipient!

Handwriting by Samuel and the papers are all from the A to Z Mega Pack by Samantha Walker.  I had to be creative with the backing papers as I didn't have enough hence the border at the bottom!

My two start back at school on Monday and both will be in Juniors although Jacob has looked like he should be in Juniors since he started school as he's tall and mature for his age (when it suits!)  I'm looking forward to them going back to school so I can have a day a week working from home thus not really needing to get dressed!

Jellypark Challenge - All About The Kids

This is the third and last post for today!  And this is for the new Jellypark challenge which is:

All About The Kids

It's Jacob's Birthday today and I've made him this rather appropriate card:

I've used the footballer image and coloured him with Promarkers.  I made the number 8 in word and then backed it onto some black card then added a running stitch around the edge.  A really quick and easy card to make and he loved it this morning when he opened it!

Polkadoodle Challenge 36 - Significant Birthday or Occasion and Not A Card!

It's time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme this week is:

Significant Birthday or Occasion

And the twist is that it cannot be a card!  Today is Jacob's Birthday but next Friday its Samuel's Birthday and he will be 10 so I've made these cake toppers with a paper from Studio 12 Gingerbread Twist, an X Cut die and some Sizzix die cut numbers from kraft card.

The great thing about Gingerbread Twist is that a lot of the papers can actually be used for non Christmas projects too!  I've inked the edges of the stars and slightly curled them plus then added a dotted line around the edge with a black gel pen.

Good luck with the Polkadoodle challenge!

Simply Create Too Challenge 45 - Vintage or Old

It's the Midway Inspiration for the current Simply Create Too Challenge and the theme is:

Vintage or Old

I've made a cute little card with a sheet of backing paper that I bought for only 20p from CraftsUPrint and printed it as A6 size.  I've layered a second sheet over the top but distressed the edges.

I've also added two Marianne die cut butterflies from scraps of kraft card plus some purple flat backed pearls.

A nice and quick card to make that I actually quite like and was surprised as to how good it looks!  And not bad for 20p!

Cuppa

Ahhhhhhh.

That first cuppa in the morning is always the best. Unless the husband has made it under duress and he's literally shown the milk to the mug rather than put any in. Builders Brew I cannot stand first thing in the morning. But this freebie from the store is the perfect cuppa!

Head on over to the store to grab this morning wonder before it stops being free!

I've coloured the mug with Promarkers and then made the background with a used teabag, cup stains and drips! Finally added a faux stitch around the edges! Tea is so versatile!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 58

It's time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the sketch:

The challenge is sponsored by Funky Hand and of course I've used Funky Hand papers in my creation! I've not kept to the circle shape but went for a star shape instead as I was asked to make a male 21st Birthday card and thought a star shape would be more apt.

I've used papers from one of the new Christmas download collections that is due to be released very soon and this particular download is very versitle and can be used for non Christmas too! Which is great for the crafter as more uses!

I've used a simple star shaped template for my card and then added smaller stars to the front in contrasting papers, inking the edges and adding a faux stitched line with a black fineliner around the edges. The smaller stars are cut with an X Cut die and the numbers are Sizzix and have been liberally coated with glitter glue! I've attached the numbers to the star with craft wire so that they boing around!

Good luck with the challenge! For more details, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!
