Polkadoodles Challenge - Spring Flowers

It's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge and the theme as always is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenged to make a Mother's Day card with Spring Flowers.  I've used one of the pre-coloured Darling Buds images and layered her onto a vellum oval cut with a Posydoodle Basics Oval die.  I've also cut a tag using the Posydoodles Basics Tag die - the sentiment comes with the Darling Buds download.

The background is a Cuttlebug embossing die and the ribbon is from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Do-Nut Worry

Do-Nut worry!!  Mind you, I could eat this right now but as long as it doesn't have a custard filling as I can't stand cold custard..... yugh!!

Made with a pre-coloured image from Dr Digi - Coffee Time - I've added a glazed (glossy accents) swirly thing on the top plus a Swiss Dots embossed background.  And this is layered onto a kraft background.

Waxed cord from my stash and I generated the sentiment on my computer.  I'd like to enter the following:

Daring Card Makers - Starry Skies

It's time for a new dare over at Daring Card Makers and this week it is

Starry Skies

I've made this cute card using an image from Jellypark which sadly is no longer available.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added it to the card with foam pads.  The background is made with some unbranded dies and I've embossed two strips with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The stars are a tiny punch and I've recycled an old card that had a lovely silver panel on it!  Good luck with the challenge!

Daring Card Makers - November Elemental Inspiration

It's the first Friday of the month over at Daring Card Makers so that means it is time for an Elemental Inspiration picture:

I've used the wording (noel), metal, reindeer, embossing, wood and the green.  The ribbon is from my stash and the silver thread is recycled from a gift tag.  Reindeer charm also from my stash.  I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a Memory Box snowflake wreath and added little half pearls for accents.

The word noel is a Clearly Besotted die cut from silver card and the stag is an unbranded die which I've cut three times from kraft card and glued together.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Happy Birthday to Ewe

As an attempt to use up some of the printed papers I found in my stash, I've combined this word book 'Dad' with Flossy from Dr Digi - must have printed the word book around 6 or 7 years ago and just never made it into anything - the pages open like a book.  Flossy has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used a combination of X Cut (stars and best wishes) dies and Cuttlebug (other words).

A little bit of doodling and some ribbon I found in my stash and the card is complete!  I'd like to enter the following:

It's time for a new Polkadoodle challenge!  The theme is as always

The DT were challenged to make something Girly.  I've used the Miss Winnie die plus the gift from Winnie Chic. I've also used a tiara and wand die that I found in my stash plus sentiment dies from Clearly Besotted and the name has been made with a Cuttlebug die.

All the papers are from the Bumper Cardstock pack.  I've used one of my own number templates and added a dotted line of liquid pearls around the edge.  The card was for one of my nieces!

Daring Card Makers - Getting To Know You

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and this week the theme is

Getting To Know You

So, what is your style or your favourite crafting technique?  I love making word books and turn to them time and time again and I do get asked to make them quite a lot!

Here is one I've made using a now retired and unavailable Funky Hand cd - all the pages can be printed and then made into a word.  I've just cut the 'pages' to size, layered the letters onto black card for extra depth and then added to the pages with foam pads and for a bit extra detail, added a faux stitched line around the edge.

Embroidery thread added to the bound edge and the Happy Birthday sentiment cut with a Cuttlebug die and added to a strip of acetate.  Actually quite quick to make and look great!

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Daring Card Makers - Black and White with a Pop of Colour

Time for a new challenge and theme over at Daring Card Makers and this week it is:

Black and White With a Pop of Colour

I've made a star card using my own template and it fits neatly on a sheet of A4 - a white gel pen was used to create a faux running stitch around the edges and I used X Cut star die cuts and the arrows.

The white, silver and red card are all offcuts - I hate to throw anything away!  The sentiment in the centre has been cut using a Cuttlebug die.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Daring Card Makers - Elemental Inspiration

I did a stint at the start of last year as a Guest Designer for Daring Card Makers which I loved so imagine how long it took me to reply when I was asked if I'd like to join the team permanently?!  Not that long, I can tell you!

This is my first 'full time' challenge and as its the first Friday challenge of the month, its an inspiration challenge and the requirement is to use at least three elements from the photo:

I've used papers that I found in my stash when having a clear out and a tidy up over Christmas - they are from the now not available Funky Hand - Now That's Funky cd - Coffee With Pals collection.  I only had small pieces of the printed sheets so had to be creative with what I had!

I've used handles from a Primark bag plus coloured offcuts of card with Promarkers so the die cut flowers would match the colour pallet.  The charm is from my stash along with the half white pearls and I've used a Cuttlebug die for the lettering.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Colour Crazy Challenge - Week 48 - Crafty Sentiments

It's time for a new Colour Crazy Challenge and this week we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments.  The challenge theme is:

Anything Goes

I've used two of the cute images from the sponsor, the first is Benson and Betty which I've coloured with Promarkers.  Snowflakes are a metal unbranded die and the ribbons are from my stash.  I've handwritten the little Sizzix tag.

The second image I've used is Christmas Penguin and I've also coloured him with Promarkers but made it into a slider card.  I've embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder and the sentiments are Tim Holtz Sizzix dies.  And yes, it really does slide!

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

It's Friday so a new Colour Crazy challenge is available!  The theme as always is

Anything Goes

This week we are sponsored by Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I've used this really cute image - Quentin who I've coloured with Promarkers.  Papers are Basic Grey Oxford which was part of a RAK I got some years ago.  I've used an X Cut die for the stars using scraps from my stash.

The sentiment has been cut with Cuttlebug letter and number dies.  Good luck with the challenge!

Score!

A really quick card to make using the Lili of the Valley Simply Print sheets - I printed this one as two on A4 card and then layered it onto some pale blue card I found in my stash and some kraft card (The Works, £2 for 10 sheets of A4).

I've coloured the background using inks and watercolour pencils and then added the banners down the side, letters cut using a Cuttlebug die and then added a button and waxed cord to the bottom right corner.

Little Fairy

Another card ticked off the request list! I've used a Lili of the Valley square and rubber stamp sentiment and layered them on to some scrap shiny blue card I had in my stash.  The pretty blue and white polkadot paper is a magazine freebie from a few years ago.  Flowers and buttons from my stash.

The blue organza ribbon is from my stash and the darker blue satin ribbon is from the Poundshop - Craft Inspirations brand.  Really good value as there are 4 different shades on the roll and 5 meters of each.  The number 5 is a Cuttlebug die cut.

Little Footballer

I'm quite enjoying the new A5 X Cut honeycomb embossing folder I treated myself to.  I've used a scrap piece of card for the background and then layered it onto some black card from my stash.

The topper is from Lili of the Valley - it's one of the small squares so I've layered it onto some more black card and then added grass, using a Marianne Creatables die (it's actually icicles but upside down and in green it looks like grass!)

The sentiment is a retired Lili of the Valley rubber stamp and the number is a Cuttlebug die, layered onto an ebay die and another Cuttlebug die to get the right sized layers.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 125 - Something Cute

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge!  The theme for the fortnight is

Something Cute

I've used a decoupage topper from La Pashe - Tinsel Tots and then added them to an embossed background - both are Cuttlebug folders - Swiss Dots and a snowflake pattern.  The silver twine is from my stash and I've handwritten the sentiment onto a Sizzix scalloped tag die cut.

The sentiment has been cut with Sizzix sentiments die and I've recycled a tissue box to cut it from.  To finish, glitter glue has been added around the edge of the card.

Good luck with the challenge!  For more details and how to enter, pop over to Crimbo Crackers

I've used a snowflake die, added half pearls and layered it onto two different embossed layers - both are Cuttlebug.

To finish, I've added dotted borders to the edges of the card plus an organza bow and a handwritten Sizzix die cut tag.

Good luck with the challenge!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 121 - Non Traditional Christmas

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme is

Non Traditional Christmas

Here is another unusual request for a Christmas card - a 12 year old boy who loves the Skylanders game.  So, I did a little research and found this image as a free colouring page.  It's been coloured with Promarkers and I hand wrote the Sizzix tag and added a punched snowflake.

The embossed pannel across the centre is a Cuttlebug one and I've used one of my new steel dies for the snowflake (total bargain from ebay seller in China and it cuts like a dream!)  Charm and embroidery thread are from my stash.

Needless to say, the receipents Mum was really pleased with it and knows her son will love it!
