I've made this cute card using an image from Sassy Cheryl that I've had for quite some time (and I think is retired), coloured with Promarkers and then used papers I found in my stash.

I've used snowflake dies plus some Hobbycraft ribbon, a cute charm and liquid pearls finish it all off!  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 44 - You've Had It How Long??!!

I am a little late with posting the new Crimbo Crackers challenge.  My excuse is that it didn't feel like a Thursday when I woke up so forgot.  And I wasn't organised enough to schedule it.

I've used a Sassy Cheryl pre printed image that I bought in a pack from CraftsUPrint and then had a root through my stash and found the burgundy paper that I know I've had since Jacob was a baby (and he's nearly 8!)

The papers are an old Pink Petticoat design - the cd is no longer available and I think I bought the cd at a similar time to the paper!  I know I printed the paper quite some time ago as its on semi-glossy photo paper and I've not used that for years!

The charm and embroidery thread are new editions so don't count!

Elf

As well as running Crimbo Crackers in order to make sure I have plenty of Christmas cards and not to be panic stricken come November, I thought I'd do an extra festive card with this cute Sassy Cheryl image I bought from CraftsUPrint.  I came in a kit of 5 Sassy Cheryl images all pre-coloured for £3 which I thought was a bargain!

I've added it to some green printed card that I know I printed probably 6 or more years ago (and I've only just found it!) from one of the very first Funky Hand cd's - Yule Be Funky.  The other papers are offcuts (that I have had to be very clever with the joining!) from DCWV - The Christmas Stack 6x6 papers.

I've added some green Christmas ribbon from my stash and a snowflake charm.  I bought I think 50 of these charms a while ago and I keep looking at them thinking that either side is nice to show (one is more ornate than the other) but haven't really got round to using them!

The sentiment is a freebie from Cuddly Buddly and I've added some silver half pearls from my stash.  Stitching is all fake!

Little Graduation

Here is the second card I've made from the CraftsUPrint Sassy Cheryl kit.  I bought 5 of the images - all pre-coloured in the kit for £3 which is pretty good value and great for when you need to make a quick card!

And again I've used the Samantha Walker A to Z Mega Kit which I bought from Jessica Sprague for $1 some time ago (retail is now over $25 so you can imagine how thrifty I feel!!)  There is loads in the kit - I've only used two of the papers on this card.

I've used a heart punch for all the scallops - I don't have many fancy dies and generally make the best of what I have so its a simple heart punch for me!  I've hand written the sentiment and added some Card Candi to the bottom.  It looks a little orange in the photo but its actually dark red!

Splashing In The Rain

This is such a cute image and the best thing is that it came pre-coloured!  So a nice and quick card to make!  I bought it as part of a crafters resource pack from CraftsUPrint - I got 5 different Sassy Cheryl pre-coloured images for only £3 which is a bargain!

I've used a Nestie to cut the image and also the two half circles either side plus used another Nestie for the scalloped edge layering.  All the papers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download and the ribbon (well, its actually upholstery trimming from the scrap store) is from my stash.

I've added some clouds and three tiny glass gems (which were left over from my cousin's Wedding last year!) plus a bit of stickles over the rain drops.

Slugs and Snails

Yep, I'm still working my way through the large shoe box full of offcuts of digi papers! I'm determined to see the bottom of it this year and not to transfer the contents into a larger box!

For this card I've used a dark red base card and then the spotty layers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download which have been printed in different sizes so I got different sized dots!  I had to be creative with the red and white spotty paper as I didn't quite have enough - the 'missing bit' is under the image so you'll never know!

The image is a pre coloured Sassy Cheryl from a kit of 5 I bought from Crafts U Print.  Sometimes its just easier to print than to try and colour!  I've added a dotted blue line around the edge of the image with a gel pen.  The embroidery thread is from my stash.

Ready For A Splash of Colour?!

I'm trying to work my way through the rather large shoe box I have with all offcuts of digi papers.  I found some papers that were in a bundle together from Wishes and Kisses cd from Funky Hand and they seemed perfect to use with this Sassy Cheryl image. 

The image is actually pre-coloured and I bought it as a kit of 5 different Sassy Cheryl images from Crafts U Print - you can buy it here.  I've cut the image out with an X Cut oval die, inked the edges, added a faux running stitch and then layered it onto some more bright raspberry papers.

The sentiment stamp was a freebie from a magazine a few years ago and the two ribbons are from my stash.  A really great image to make a card in a hurry!

Simply Create Too Challenge 18 - Use It Twice

It's time for another Simply Create Too Challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Use It Twice

I've made two cards from virtually the same image - I bought the Simple Cards Mega Bundle kit from Paper Creator.  One of the images is actually an insert but it looks just as good on the front!  And they come coloured - so print and go!

I printed the images so that they both fitted onto a sheet of A4 card, cut around the square and mounted them onto a cad blank.

I've only added a bit of lemon ice stickles, half pearls and ribbon for detail and I think they took me around half an hour to make both of them!  There are lots more in the kit - great for quick cards in a hurry!

In The Pink

A nice and easy card to make and all papers are from my scrap box! I've coloured the Sassy Cheryl image with Promarkers plus glossy accents on the wand and stickles on the wings. It fits the Sassy Cheryl challenge which is:

All the papers are from various collections from Funky Hand - the spotty one is from Rainbow Polkadots. The fluffy stuff is actually fancy yarn which has been sat in my ribbon box for ages and it fitted perfectly with this - and was still lying around from the last card I blogged!

The sentiment is computer generated and I've dotted around the edge of the card with a silver gel pen and done the same around the image but with a pink gel pen.

Washing Line Teddy Bear

It's been a while since I joined in with a Sassy Cheryl's challenge so I was determined to start fresh for the New Year!

The current challenge is:

Teddy Bears

And I've used a freebie image which has been coloured with Aquamarkers. I started colouring the bear with Jacob watching me as he was fascinated to how I could use water with my pens. I built the colour up (he kept saying it was not bear coloured!) and then blended it all with water. Aquamarkers give such a rich colour that is quite difficult to achieve with traditional watercolours plus there is less mess and less chance of colours running into one another!


The papers are from Funky Hand's Dreams Come True cd (the So What? collection) as these were lying in my scrap box and I am determined to see the bottom (or close to!) of the box at some point during the next 12 months!

The two flowers are from my stash along with the ribbon which was a perfect match to the orange felt flower. It's actually quite a bright and in your face card in real life!

No Girls Allowed!

Now this was going to be something completely different for the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week which is:

Add Some Dimension

I was going to make a card with the image I'd coloured with Promarkers and at the last moment decided to make a door hanger! The dark blue card from my stash was ideal as it was quite thick and didn't need to be doubled to add thickness and strength.

I've punched holes around the aperture and added some string for interest. The three silver stars are table confetti (although quite chunky!) and the lettering is from the new Funky Hand download Spooky Dookie as I really like the ransom note style lettering (although you could punch them out too).

I've inked the edges with black ink and the image has been layered onto some bright blue and then black card, although it doesn't really show in the photo - just take my word for it!

No Girls!

And before I show what I have made, I'd like to thank Sassy Cheryl for me being last weeks winner! Who-hoo!! How pleased was I?! I've used one of the images that I picked (was on my shopping list anyway!) Jacob got a well done sticker on Friday at school for knowing a letter in the alphabet that the rest of his class didn't know. When the sticker was given to him, he said thank you (as he should) and promptly was rewarded with another sticker! So I've not forgotten my manners Jacob!!

Ok, here is my card. I had to take the picture flat-on as the glue hadn't dried under the buttons and the light was fading fast (its now virtually dark at 7pm!) And I've forgotten the sentiment..... ah well!I used the 'No Girls' digi stamp, coloured it with Promarkers and added it to a Swiss Dotted background with a perfectly sized left over bit of ribbon across the centre (as not yet mastered the art of neat matching up with embossed panels when the panel is too big for the embossing folder....!) The little chap has been inked around the edges (you may just see the faded blue) and black, plus corner rounded. Layered onto more red card and some dark blue from my stash.

See - no printed papers. Because ink is no more in my printer so having to make do! The buttons are from my stash and the twine I bought earlier today from Poundstretchers at Southport - 3 large balls of the stuff for 99p - bargain!

Spellbinding Christmas!

I somehow managed to miss the deadline for last weeks Sassy Cheryl's Challenge - I had the image coloured and the papers ready and then the time just went! Luckily, I've managed to use what I already had for this weeks challenge!

The challenge this week is to use:

A Nestabilities Spellbinder Die

As I just have the one set, it was an easy decision to make! The image is from Sassy Cheryl and I've coloured it with Promarkers. I've used the die to create a frame around the image which works just as well.


Not got a clue where the papers came from but they were in my Christmas folder already printed and waiting to be used! I bought the ribbon last year (can't remember where) and it is quite glittery especially when it has been trimmed so I had glitter on my face one afternoon when I picked Samuel up from school much to his disgust and horror!

The silver snowflake is thick card and is supposed to be a gift embellishment - they were reduced in the January sales at Matalan - way too good for gifts - much more suited to cards! And the gems are from the Poundshop! I had to wrap some wire around the snowflake to keep it attached to the ribbon as I don't think any amount of glue was going to keep it in place long enough!

Turning Autumn

I've used another freebie image from Sassy Cheryl for this weeks challenge which is:

Autumn / Halloween

I've decided to use autumn colours as although I enjoy making Halloween cards and things, I never know what to do with them as its not really something that is celebrated that much in the UK. Well, not like in the USA!

I've used papers from Funky Hand - the spotty one is from Colour Me Happy and the others from Now That's Funky.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers and for once I've managed to co-ordinate colours with the papers even though I'd not worked out which papers I was going to use...... All papers have been taken from my bits box which is sort of going down nicely but not quick enough to be honest! I'll have to start using the cardstock background more and then simply adding titchy bits of printed card as accents.... Will see if that one works!

The sentiment stamp is from Papermania and even though it looks like I wasn't concentrating enough it really does stamp darker on the wishes word - I stamped it 8 times and each time it did the same. Or maybe I'm a bad consistent stamper!

Sassy Spots

I found a new challenge site whilst blog hopping. Fatal! I've also joined Sassy Cheryl on Paper Craft Planet too. Anyway, the digital images are so funny and are right up my street so when my Paypal account looks a bit more healthier I'll be making a purchase or two!

I've coloured a freebie image from PCP with Promarkers and added Funky Daze papers layered onto black card.

The card blank is from a pack from Papermania - it was reduced to half price a few weeks ago in The Range and because I'd had my eye on them for a while, they were snapped up! I've doodled a fine black line around the edges and finished it off with polka dot ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons and a pink star pony bead.

Apologies for the rather dark image - weather was rubbish when I took the photo! Can't wait for the next challenge!
