Dude Time Doodles - September New Release & Blog Hop!

It's the last Wednesday of the month so its time to reveal the new Dude Time Doodles images and to kick it all off we have a blog hop for you!

One of the Dudettes will be the hostess with the mostest and one lucky commenter will win a digi image! So make sure you leave me a comment - I've not yet been the hostess so this could be the one!!

I've used Need A Pee image, coloured with Promarkers and I've made a doorhanger for the powder room! Printed card (and glued together in layers for extra strength) is from my stash and I've used my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set to cut the letters and then they have been glittered.

Bit of faux stitching and I've made some dangly charm things with beads from my stash (had for way too long without using them!) and covered the messy bits with ribbon and bows.

Glam and Glitz

Here is my final creation as Guest Designer for Squiggle Stamps! The current challenge is Glam and Glitz and I decided to make a doorhanger.

I've used papers from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and if you are quick, you can get 25% off any Funky Hand branded products until 10pm 29 August - you really don't want to miss out on such a wonderful sale!! I'd be there like a shot, but my collection is full....

I've used Princess Daisy Squiggle Stamp - coloured her with Promarkers and added glitter to the underskirt of her dress, necklace and crown - the photo just does not show it (dammed weather!) Princess Daisy is a special buy at the moment for £1 - so be quick!!

I've used my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet die set to cut the letters and the ribbon is from my stash.

Dare You Rattle My Chains?!

Its search for a Guest Designer time over at Dude Time Doodles! And its really easy to join in too - all you have to do is pop over to the challenge blog and snag the freebie on offer, make something with it, blog it, link it back to Dude Time Doodles and you just never know - it could be you!

Gavin Ghost is the freebie and I've coloured him with Aquamarkers and turned him into a doorhanger.
The papers and mini letters are from Spooky Dookie download from Funky Hand and I've added some bat embellishments (made by me!) and some Sizzix die cut ghosties all with wobbly eyes!

And not forgetting the bandage - cheaper the better and I do get some odd looks when trying to work out if its crepe or cotton weave!

Made With Love

There is an exciting announcement over on Dude Time Doodles - we have another artist join Bonibleaux Designs - the one and only Marlooney! If you've not had the pleasure of viewing her blog then I suggest you do so but not whilst consuming any liquid or food as it will end up splattered on your screen!

And in honour of the occasion, the Dudettes got to play with some of Marlene's images and I chose Fanny Fart.The title says it all really! I've coloured her in pinks cos she is still a lady despite the omissions plus a little glitter glue. I've made a voluptuous throne room doorhanger from papers by Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away and the shape is all my own doing! I drew round various rolls of tape to make the circles. The hole has been cut with a Nesties and I've recycled it as a tag and attached the sentiment 'Made With Love Especially For You'.

The ribbon and paper rose is from a recent generous donation from Lynsey (yep - its all tidied away!) I've added a faux running stitch around the edge of the door hanger and inked the edges.

Dude Time Doodles - April New Release & Blog Hop!

It's time to reveal some of the new releases over at Dude Time Doodles and we as a Design Team celebrate this with a Blog Hop! I've made a door hanger and used papers from Funky Hand - Dreams Come True cd which I've printed onto thick card then glued the two sides together so its more rigid. The very shiny letters (silver holographic card) have been cut with my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet set, a bit of doodling and some card candy and side one is completed..... If you are wondering what the sentiment says, it is 'the throne room'.... And it is occupied! Arnie is enjoying some peace and quiet and is not put off by the pink toilet roll! And just so you are very sure, this side of the sign features Arnie and the word 'occupied!' Again, some card candy and doodling and its complete! Arnie has been coloured with Promarkers. Robot Doorhanger

The CRAFT challenge this week is a good one! It is:

Doorhangers

Which I do like to make! This one has been made with the very brand new download Rainbow Polkadots from Funky Hand which has all the colours of the rainbow (plus some!) in both positive and negative dot patterns (coloured background/white dots or coloured dots/white background).

I actually had a brain wave when making the doorhanger as I always struggle to get a nice neat finish for the hole, so I used my scalloped Nestabilities, only that I didn't quite manage to line them up properly so its a little more scalloped than I intended!

The little robot is from Craft The Year Away, also from Funky Hand and I've made him large enough to fit on the doorhanger (all the digis can be made as big as A4 without any quality loss) and he's been coloured with Promarkers and a few dabs of glossy accents here and there. I was a bit cack handed when cutting out his antennae so he has wire and a button instead!

I've added some card candy to the aperture and a bit of inking and doodling a line around the edge and the doorhanger is complete!

Robot Doorhanger

I have a pile of digital images that I've already printed out, usually because I'm after one or two specific images and don't like to waste the rest of the sheet, so I fill it up with other images which them wait for me to colour and use! This lovely little robot image from Tiddly Inks is just one, and when I saw their current challenge:

Monochromatic

I decided that he could be coloured and used! I've gone for a grey, silver and black theme and made this cute little doorhanger by layering black card and cutting out the shape. I've doodled a line around the edges with a white gel pen and then added a silver embossed panel (Cuttlebug folder) to the centre and then the image.


I've used Promarkers - all Cool Grey shades - to colour plus a little glossy accents (see how much I like this product - its on everything I make now!) on his eyes and digital chest display. Although the photo does not show it too well, I've added a jet black gem to the handle plus two clear ones and tied some thin ribbon too.

I think Jacob has his eye on this doorhanger and he's also keen for me to use glossy accents as he is fascinated with the finish when its dry!

Football Star

I've got a thing about making door hangers at the moment! So when I saw the Forever Friends challenge which asks for

I couldn't really resist! I've used papers from Sugar Cookie Christmas digital scrapbooking kit by Alison Sloan (her Scrapable store has 50% off until the end of December!) The Forever Friends image is from an Elements pack and is ready assembled decoupage. I've made the rosette myself by punching hearts from silver paper and slightly ruffling them. It's got added height as I've made a smaller layer in the centre then added the die cut number 1.

All lettering has been cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet dies plus other bits from my stash including card candy.

Baby Sleeping

The Moving Along With The Times challenge this week asks for:

And as I've now finished (I hope!) Christmas card orders, I can now make something that is not Christmas related! I've made these two doorhangers using papers from Alison Sloan called Sweet Cookie Christmas which is actually a digi kit with lots of papers and elements although I've only used two of the papers. The kit is due to be released very soon!

The images are stamped Forever Friends, coloured with Promarkers and I've added letters cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set. The ribbon is from my stash. I've edged the hangers with ink and then doodled a fine line with matching gel pen around the edges to give a bit of definition.

I quite like making doorhangers - makes a change from cards!

Santa Door Hanger

I don't really need an excuse to make these Christmas door hangers, but when I saw the Die Cut Dreams challenge for the week, which is:

I had to get cracking! The last one I made, I sold and I've been asked for more, so I've actually made 3 of these with slight variations on each. The red spotty paper is printed onto card and I've made it thicker by having a blank layer in between the printed sides. Both the paper and the Santa image are from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas from Polkadoodles.


I've glittered Santa with glitter glue and the letters have been cut with my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet for the larger letters and my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet for the smaller letters. I've inked the edges of the hanger and then doodled a fine black line around the edge.

Spooky Doorhanger!

I don't really send Halloween cards but I do enjoy making them (think its the goth in me!) so when I saw the By The Cute and Girly challenge for October which is:

Spooky!

I decided to make a doorhanger instead. Because it is my latest craze too! I've used a cardboard template, drawn round it onto some pretty thick sort of pearlescent black card (not got a clue where it came from as it found it in my A4 card box!)

I've inked it with silver ink which I've had for ages and not really used (shame on me!) and the letters have been cut with my Sizzix Round-a-Bout die set and then put through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
The image is from Bugaboo and I've coloured him with Promarkers and added him to the doorhanger with foam pads. I think I'll be making more of these in the future when my boys get old enough! Mind you, Jacob can be a right stroppy little git at times!

No Girls Allowed!

Now this was going to be something completely different for the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week which is:

Add Some Dimension

I was going to make a card with the image I'd coloured with Promarkers and at the last moment decided to make a door hanger! The dark blue card from my stash was ideal as it was quite thick and didn't need to be doubled to add thickness and strength.

I've punched holes around the aperture and added some string for interest. The three silver stars are table confetti (although quite chunky!) and the lettering is from the new Funky Hand download Spooky Dookie as I really like the ransom note style lettering (although you could punch them out too).

I've inked the edges with black ink and the image has been layered onto some bright blue and then black card, although it doesn't really show in the photo - just take my word for it!

Dare You Enter?!

Sometimes when I see a challenge I know exactly what I am going to make, and for the Moving Along With The Times challenge this was no exception!

This weeks challenge is:

Anything But A Card

As I had the brand new Halloween download from Funky Hand - Spooky Dookie to play with, I knew I wanted to make a door hanger. I've used a chipboard template for the actual shape (which I drew round) and printed directly onto a sheet of 270gsm white card which I glued back to back.

I've inked the edges and added here and there some black card candy - not sure if you can quite see it in the photo. The ransom style letters are also from the download and I've inked them too.


Both the tombstone and mummy are Sizzix die cuts - I've added the letters on the tombstone with liquid pearls and the little mummy is wrapped with bandage. Really quick and easy to do - the longest part is waiting for it all to dry!

Spooky Dookie is a fab download and it can be used not only for Halloween as there are some non Halloween type sheets too!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 26 - Decorative Item

It's Friday again so time for another Polkadoodle challenge! This week Claire has set the challenge of:

Something Decorative

Last weekend saw the launch of the new Polkadoodles cd - Paper Boutique Vol 2 Creative Christmas and I've really fallen for the cute Santa digi stamps so just had to use them for this challenge!

I've cut out one of the 5 stamps and glittered his hat and beard and added it to one of the backing papers after drawing around a door hanger template.

Inked and doodled around the edges and added the lettering with Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet set for the larger letters and then Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set for the smaller ones.

A really versatile cd packed full of Christmas goodies!! Christmas in July eh?!

Frosty Doorhanger

I've had this door hanger kit for a while and have been wanting to make it but not yet had the chance. The ABC Christmas challenge currently is:

Frosty with the added option of Snow

So I think my double sided door hanger fits with the challenge! This is a digital door hanger which I got as a freebie from Alison Sloan but you can also buy it from CraftsUPrint. I've printed the sheet twice so I could layer up some of the elements onto 240gsm ivory linen card and added an extra layer in between for additional stability.

The snowman and little boy are layered and I've added glitter glue to the bottom of the snowman, so it looks like glistening snow! A little bit of glitzy gold ribbon and the door hanger is finished!

Santa's Little Angel

There is a new Christmas challenge blog out there - and because we have so much snow it seemed only fitting that I joined in! It is called ABC Christmas Challenges and is a sister site to the established ABC Challenges. And this is their first challenge which is:

A is for Angels

I was a bit stumped with this as could not think of what to make and then I realised I'd downloaded this lovely shabby chic door hanger with an angel on - perfect! It was designed by Alison Sloan via this link. I printed it onto cream textured card twice so I could layer up some of the stars and the angels to give more depth.

I've then inked the edges, doodled a line around the edge and added some card candy, ribbon and two red star charms. I also downloaded the little boy door hanger too which is just as cute!

I do like Alison's style and kits and I know that she will have more on offer in the very near future - she also has more of these door hangers available to buy via Crafts U Print.
