Scraps

I am trying really really hard to use up the scraps from the rather large and very overflowing shoe box that I currently keep them in!  And I am trying to use up all the cute die cut toppers that I bought from the Lili of the Valley ebay store (although I've just bought some more......!)

So here is one card.  A lot more to go!  Papers are from Funky Hand - the checked blue is from the Craft The Year Away cd and the spotty paper is from the Rainbow Polkadots download.  I had to be careful with the spotty paper as it was not a full strip but you'd never know!

I've layered everything onto black card as the gingham wasn't big enough for the card blank and I didn't want to cut it down any smaller!  The image is from Lili of the Valley ebay shop which I've glittered around the edge.  Card candy from my stash along with a random sentiment I found on the table!

I am slowly getting through the pile - I hope!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I Heart Sketches:  Sketch followed
Hiding In My Craft Room:  Use Scraps
Shelly's Images:  Kid Theme
Sister Act Card Challenge:  Anything Goes
Crafty Catz:  Anything Goes

Image:  Pre Printed topper from Lili of the Valley
Papers:  Funky Hand, Craft the Year Away cd and Rainbow Polkadots
Everything else:  My stash (or found on the table!)

Dude Time Doodles - April Fool

It's time for another Dude Time Doodles challenge! And the theme this week is:

April Fool

So, come on - make us laugh! For more details about the challenge and for more theme inspiration, just pop over to the blog!I've gone with an old favourite Dude Time Doodle image - Sashimi from the Fish Set along with a sentiment from the Fin Fisher Sentiment Set 1. I've made my own card blank (I've got a thing for circle cards at the moment!) and used an offcut of paper from my rather large and very overflowing box of bits of paper which is from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd.

Sashimi has been added to the front of the card with a spring so he wobbles about and I've made the hook myself from wire and an anchor punch and attached it under the sentiment.

Good luck with the challenge!

I've used the cute Bird House and coloured it with Promarkers. I've handwritten the sentiment as the stamp I was going to use was too big! All the papers are from Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand and the ribbon I found in my tidy up!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 15

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and I am playing hostess this fortnight and here is the sketch I whipped up:

We also have a fab sponsor - Crafty Sentiments Designs who are generously offering 4 digis to the winner! To have a look at their digi stamps, click on the banner below:
And here is my take on the sketch. Since tidying up my rather huge box of ribbons into co-ordinated colours I found ribbons I forgot I had and this one is from Fantastic Ribbons. The image is from Crafty Sentiments, our sponsor and she has been coloured with Promarkers.

The papers are all from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away and I've made the scalloped edge by using a heart punch and layering them up so that only the top bits are showing. The sentiment is from Our Betty stamp set. I am trying desperately to use up the scraps in my big shoe box as it is seriously overflowing - so I've delved into the box for the papers on this card!

Good luck with the challenge and for more details click here.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Birthday Sundaes: Birthday Card
Crafters Circle: Make It Colourful
Crafty Ann's: Let's Think Hot (hot colours)
Aud Sentiments: Sentiment and Use Up Scraps

Happy Leaves Bookmark!

Jellypark are sponsoring the Pile It On Challenge this week and the theme is:

Be Happy

I love this cute little image of jumping in leaves from Jellypark! I've coloured it with Promarkers and used an offcut of card from a Funky Hand cd Craft The Year Away (and this weekend there is 25% off all Funky Hand products!)

I've used a Nestie to draw around for the shapes and then inked the edges. The letters are cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set and the ribbon and beads are from my stash.

You'll have the excuse the rather rubbish photo - it gets dark a bit too early these days so you can't see all the colours on the leaves - looks better in real life, honest!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Craft Your Days Away: Halloween Colours
If The Shoe Fits: Halloween or Fall
Wags n Whiskers: Fall Colours
CRAFT: Autumn
CCEE Stampers: Autumn

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 8

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and we are upto number 8 already! We have a very fab sponsor this fortnight and I was so pleased when Christy agreed to sponsor us! It's the one and only Tiddly Inks! And the very generous prize is a $10 gift certificate to spend at Tiddly Inks!

The sketch we are asking you to work with this fortnight has been magic'd up by Jenny and yes, we like our simple and sweet sketches!

We've both used Tiddly Ink images for our creations (I already have quite a collection as I think they are great!) I've gone for Soccer King and coloured him with Promarkers. All the papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've used a Sizzix die to cut the grass shapes.

The big red felt star was sent to me by Jenny (thank you!) and the two gold star brads are from my stash. A bit of faux stitching and some inking here and there and the card is complete!

Good luck with the challenge - its open until Sunday 16 October and as long as we can see the sketch elements we are happy! Enter as many times as you want, combine it with as many other challenges as you can and use what ever stash you have!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Kite

Despite knowing that my Mum has a Birthday very soon (Monday) I still leave making her card to the last minute! However, for once I was glad I did as I really liked how this one came together and she liked it too when I gave it to her today!

The kraft card blank is from my stash and I've used papers from Funky Hand's Craft The Year Away cd and I've distressed the edges with scissors.

I've added some embroidery thread (scrap store) plus card candy and the sentiment was printed onto Safmat and then added to the paper. A little bit of doodling and the card is complete!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cards & Things: Sketch
Die Cuttin' Divas: Shabby Chic / Vintage (with photo inspiration)
Die Cut Dreams: Pink, Brown and White
Prairie Fairy Challenge: Pink and Distressed
Glitter Geeks: Shabby Chic

Glam and Glitz

Here is my final creation as Guest Designer for Squiggle Stamps! The current challenge is Glam and Glitz and I decided to make a doorhanger.

I've used papers from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and if you are quick, you can get 25% off any Funky Hand branded products until 10pm 29 August - you really don't want to miss out on such a wonderful sale!! I'd be there like a shot, but my collection is full....

I've used Princess Daisy Squiggle Stamp - coloured her with Promarkers and added glitter to the underskirt of her dress, necklace and crown - the photo just does not show it (dammed weather!) Princess Daisy is a special buy at the moment for £1 - so be quick!!

I've used my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet die set to cut the letters and the ribbon is from my stash.

Thank you to Tracy and the Squiggle Design Team for having me as a Guest Designer!

Gift Cards - Christmas Of Course!

I've got a couple of Craft Fairs in the run up to Christmas and I am trying to have things other than just cards, so here are a few gift cards. All have been made with papers from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd (Remember December collection) plus the stamped image is from an Our Betty stamp set.

I've coloured them with Promarkers and added glitter glue to the lid of the gift. Ribbon is from my stash. I used two Nesties sets to layer the images and I've added a little extra card to write a message to the recipient inside.

Quite quick and easy to make once I'd made a template and worked out all my sizes! And I think I'm going to increase my Christmas Card goal to 150.....

I'd like to enter them into the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft: Gift Card
Divas by Design: Christmas in August
Creative Craft: Anything But A Card
Incy Wincy: Anything But A Card

Dude Time Doodles Challenge 20 - Photo Inspiration & Sporty

It's the third Wednesday of the month (where does the time go??!) and so its the colour theme challenge for Dude Time Doodles! This week we also want to see you make it not only for a dude (young or old!) but also to have a sporty theme. All the rules and how to enter can be found on the challenge blog.

I've used Rocco Soccer as my image and his ball ('scuse the pun!) which was a freebie offered last month and now is available to buy in the store - snooze and you loose! He's been coloured with Promarkers and in the new season Manchester United football strip as I've been asked to make a 50th Birthday card for a bloke called Trev who is mad about Man Utd!

Rocco boings around on a spring although his football is well and truly attached to the card. Football pitch is from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've enlarged it to fit on an A5 sized card, and also printed it with one of the papers from the same cd. I've added a slightly darker line with a Promarker around the edge, printed the sentiment using the word elements, also from the same cd and the star button (I snipped the shank off) is from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cards For Men: Anything Goes
Sparkles Forum Challenges: One For The Boys
If The Shoe Fits: Green

  • Image: Dude Time Doodles, coloured with Promarkers
  • All Other Printed elements: Craft The Year Away cd from Funky Hand

Jellypark Challenge 3 - Embellishments

The weeks seem to be slipping by which is no bad thing because it is time for another Jellypark Friday Friends Challenge! Although the challenges are easy peasy its the choosing which Jellypark images to use which is the hard bit for me!

The challenge this fortnight is:

Embellishments

I finally settled on this Dinosaur Boy digi stamp which I've coloured with Aquamarkers. The papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've added some quite realistic (even if I say so myself!) faux stitching around the edges.

A little bit of inking around the image with some very old yet trusty little inkpads and then I went a bit mad with some buttons from my stash! I found a pack of Dress-It Up buttons too which were dinosaurs so added one of them too!

Good luck with the challenge and to see the new releases pop over to the Challenge blog - I'll be blogging the cards I've made with the new releases tomorrow as Friday is a busy day for DT posts for me but you can see my creations on the challenge blog.

Chocolate and Pink Sixteen

You know how I like my wordbooks so here is another one that I've recently made this time for a friend who's daughter is turning sixteen. I've used papers from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've used wordart to make the letters.

Although you can't really see it, I've dotted liquid pearls around the inners of each of the letters for a bit of detail.
The ribbons are from my stash and I've looped them around a few times to make a fancy bow and tied it all together with some very lovely chocolate brown satin ribbon. The charm is a little crown with 'princess' on it. It's one of a few that I've had for ages and bought from ebay.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Stampin' B's: Use Ribbon
Celebrate the Occasion: Kids Birthday
Cupcake Craft: Birthdays with a Number

  • Papers: Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd
  • Ribbons: My stash
  • Charm: My stash

Princess For A Day

Yesterday was New Release day at Jellypark! Claire has drawn some wonderful images and as part of the Design Team, I've been able to play!

This digi stamp is called Princess For A Day and she's been coloured with Promarkers plus a little stickles here and there! I've drawn round one of my Nesties to create the shape - it was originally just a square but I've made it into a rectangle.

The pink papers are from Funky Hand Craft The Year Away cd and the purple spotty one from Polkadoodles. I've dotted edges with liquid pearls. The sentiment is part of the digi stamp and I've threaded a princess charm through some string and attached it to the card with a brad. The flowers are all Prima - the lilac ones are Esprit. I've used the current sketch from The Sketch File but I've flipped it round to make it fit the image.

Watch out for another new release image coming very soon!

My card also fits the following challenges:

Pixie Dust Studios: Girly Girly
Southern Girls: Happy Birthday
Diva's By Design: Pastels
Ruby's Rainbow Challenges: Happy Birthday

  • Papers: Funky Hand and Polkadoodles
  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers and Stickles
  • Sentiment: Jellypark

Strawberry Cake!

Isn't this a wonderful image? I bought it as part of the gift certificate I won on a recent Phindy's Place challenge (thank you!) It's been coloured with Aquamarkers and I used one of my Nesties to cut it out. I've added a row of gold gel pen dots around the edge of it as I can never ink the edges of this particular shape very well and this is the next best thing!

The papers are all from Funky Hand but various collections - the dotty green is from Rainbow Polkadots download and the other two papers are from Craft The Year Away cd. I've used offcuts of white card for layering and the sentiment has been printed onto Safmat from Letraset and then layered.

The buttons are from my stash and the ribbon twine is from The Ribbon Girl.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Phindy's Place: Buttons
Sketches By Carly: Sketch (above)
Cardmadfairy's Digi Day's Challenge: Animals (mouse! And its alive this time!)
Glitter Geeks: Tea Party (I'm bringing cake!)

  • Image: Phindy's Place, coloured with Aquamarkers
  • Papers: Various from Funky Hand
  • Button Twine: The Ribbon Girl
  • Sentiment: Printed on Safmat

It's the last Wednesday of the month so its time to reveal the new Dude Time Doodles images and to kick it all off we have a blog hop for you!

One of the Dudettes will be the hostess with the mostest and one lucky commenter will win a digi image! So make sure you leave me a comment - I've not yet been the hostess so this could be the one!!

If you've arrived at me from Michelle then you are on the right track although there is no start and end point, just make sure you've visited us all! From me you need to hop to NanaConnie and leave a comment there too!! For my creation, I've made a double wobble card! It wobbles from side to side (well, rocks really) and the actual image is on a spring so he really does wobble! Kyle Karate is a new release for July and he's been coloured with Promarkers. Both my boys have martial arts lessons and both loved this image! The paper is from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd along with the wobble card template. The letters have been cut from silver card with my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet and the two silver stars are table confetti.

There are new Dudettes joining the gang - please give a warm welcome to Michelle, NanaConnie, Dawn and Linda!

Strawberries V Chocolate

And in my opinion, chocolate wins every time!! This card is for the Tiddly Inks challenge which is:

Sugar and Spice with a Twist (sarcastic or humorous card)

I've coloured the Tiddly Inks image with Promarkers and she's got glossy accent glasses! All the papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've just rounded the edges and inked them.

The image has been dotted around the edge with a fine black pen as it looked a little lost. The sentiment is computer generated and was thought up by my brain.

I've followed the wonderful Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch (always great for inspiration and making a card come alive!)

Don't forget! Fetch A Sketch launches at 9am tomorrow with two fabulous sponsors - so you won't want to miss it!

I'd also like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Made With Love

There is an exciting announcement over on Dude Time Doodles - we have another artist join Bonibleaux Designs - the one and only Marlooney! If you've not had the pleasure of viewing her blog then I suggest you do so but not whilst consuming any liquid or food as it will end up splattered on your screen!

And in honour of the occasion, the Dudettes got to play with some of Marlene's images and I chose Fanny Fart. The title says it all really! I've coloured her in pinks cos she is still a lady despite the omissions plus a little glitter glue. I've made a voluptuous throne room doorhanger from papers by Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away and the shape is all my own doing! I drew round various rolls of tape to make the circles. The hole has been cut with a Nesties and I've recycled it as a tag and attached the sentiment 'Made With Love Especially For You'.

The ribbon and paper rose is from a recent generous donation from Lynsey (yep - its all tidied away!) I've added a faux running stitch around the edge of the door hanger and inked the edges.

If you want to read the whole interview and story, head over to Dude Time Doodles!

And if you've not already popped over to the Fetch A Sketch pre launch party - please do so but be quick as it ends on Sunday 26 June! Some candy on offer to two lucky commenter's plus some extra prizes along the way! The Fetch A Sketch challenges launch on Monday 27 June at 9am!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Green Monster

I've never managed before to join in with a Kathy's Waffle Sketch file and finally I have!! This card took a bit of planning in my head before I committed myself but it was perfectly clear what I was going to use as soon as I saw the image! The digi image is from Jellypark and it can be yours for the bargain price of £1.25! I've coloured it with Promarkers.

All the papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've used random buttons tied up with thin green satin ribbon plus brads and snaps around the edge of the image. I've also added some tiny green seed beads too from Natty Netty.

A few dots of liquid pearls here and there and the card is complete!

It also fits the following challenges:

Incy Wincy: Tic Tac Toe - my line is diagonal - brads, ribbon and something green
The Crafty Pad: Stripes (I won last week's challenge - thank you!!)
House of Gilli: Buttons
Tuesday Throwdown: Animals

Mini Diva

I've not managed to join in with a Tiddly Inks challenge for a few weeks and I've been having withdrawal symptoms! I've had a Birthday card request so this seemed the perfect image to use and it fits in with the Tiddly Inks challenge which is:

Diva

Papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away and the small dotty red one I found in my stash box. A bit of inking around the edges and some faux stitching thrown in! The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've handwritten the sentiment. The three 'brads' are card candy.

I've used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for inspiration.

The card also fits the Diva challenge on Creative Card Crew.

Simply Create Challenge 43 - Mum's Sayings

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! This fortnight, the challenge is:

Mum's / Mom's Sayings

As Mothers Day has passed in the UK, I've decided to make a small set of note cards for everyday use and I've used three sentiments from Raindrop Echo Designs. I always used to struggle with adding sentiments to cards and it would just be the standard, Happy Birthday's, but now I've discovered Raindrop Echo Designs, the sky is the limit!

And I am liking the clean look of these, I could just make some more!! I've used two of my Nesties dies for the shapes, some grosgrain ribbon from my stash which matched the papers perfectly (Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand) plus I'm using up some of the leftovers in my overflowing box. I've added a pin of my own design - there are some little smiley faces on the tiny stars - you just can't see them in the photo!

Hope you can join in with the challenge - for more details, please visit the challenge blog!

  • Sentiments: Raindrop Echo Designs
  • Papers: Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities
