Lilac Birthday

Sometimes I find an image and just 'have' to buy it!  This one is just that - from Kenny K - Happy Hour which I've coloured with Promarkers and added a bit of sparkle to the glass.

Papers are from a bargain £1 stack from The Works and I've cut the sentiment with Clearly Bessotted dies (I've chopped the loopy bits off the start and ends of the words).  Half pearls, ribbon and charm are all from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following:

Creative Craft Cottage:  Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl:  Any Image plus Ribbon
Sweet Stampin':  Happy Birthday  WINNER
Pattie's Creations:  Birthday's
Sweet Sketch Wednesday:  Sketch followed

Using Scraps

Another card ticked off the order list!  Made using a lot of scraps - the papers are all from Funky Hand (be quick - closing down sale!) The Funky One cd - it's only 75p! including the number 6 which I've cut using a Sizzix die and glittered it.

Sweet fairy image from Jellypark - Fairy with Wand which I've coloured with Promarkers and added a bit of sparkle.  I've cut the image with a Spellbinder circle die and layered it onto another Spellbinder die - a fancy edged one.

Charm from my rather extensive collection (ebay!) along with half pearls and embroidery thread bow.  The card blank is a piece left over from an A4 sheet of card when making a square card.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday:  Sketch followed
ABC Challenge:  O is for Open
Lia Stampz:  One Colour
Paper Creator Crafts:  Die Cuts or Punches

Polkadoodle Challenge 37 - Whiteout

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge and the theme this week is:

Whiteout

So only the minimal of colour will be accepted - so its opportunity to be Christmassy!

Although my card looks a little too blue (the light was not very good!) is is practically all white. I've used a paper from Magical Winter Vol 2 plus the snowman image and embossed and inked some offcut card.
I've added a fine dotted line with a blue gel pen all around the edges and added some ribbon from my stash along with some blingy gems! The snowman has been 'coloured' with glitter glue and glossy accents.

Good luck with the challenge and the closing date is Sunday 25 September at 12noon GMT

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday: Sketch followed
Digital Tuesday: Celebrate the Season (Winter)
House of Gilli: Embossing

  • Image and printed paper: Magical Winter Vol 2
  • Dies: Nestabilities and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
  • Everything else: My stash

Wedding

I'd been asked to make a Wedding card and what better image than to use this one from Lee Jacobs which I bought from here and to use the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for inspiration!

The image has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue on the glasses. Sentiment is computer generated and I've added embossed vellum (Cuttlebug D'vine swirls folder) panels behind the image.

I've used white grosgrain ribbon from my stash plus some very shiny silver card. Gems and prima flowers are from my stash.

Although you can't see it, I've added a silver gel pen dotted line around the image, sentiment and edge of the card.

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Quirky Crafts: Flourishes and Embossing
Designed 2 Delight: Wedding or Anniversary
Little Claire's Designs: Wedding or Anniversary
Rainbow Lady's Challenge: Embossing
Creative Belli: Acetate or Vellum
Fab n Funky: Embossing

Pink, Sparkly and Dancing

You wouldn't believe me when I say that this card has taken me almost two weeks to make! I've made it for the Wags n Whiskers challenge which is:

Sparkly

I'd won some Wags n Whiskers images in a challenge recently and they are a dream to colour, so I decided to use this ballerina image, coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out. Then I got sidetracked with other things.

I then saw the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch and it fitted perfectly, so here it is - finished!

I've used some pink pearlescent paper that I've had for ages along with some angel hair from Lynsey (thank you!) I did try to cut it with my Nesties but it wouldn't for some reason, and then I've layered some pink handmade paper (found hiding with the pearlesecent paper!) onto the top. Then added the image on foam pads.

Glitter stickles have been added for extra sparkle plus some ribbon from Funky Hand (April Fool) and a large gem from my stash.

My card also fits the following challenges:

Rainbow Lady's Challenge: Song of Choice (Tiny Dancer by Elton John)
Clear It Out: Glitter
Glitter Fairies: Pretty In Pink

  • Image: Wags n Whiskers, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers: From my stash, or donation
  • Ribbon: Funky Hand

Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?! If anything like mine - very fast! My strawberry plants which started off as being just two are fast growing and sending suckers out which have been duly planted in pots so that they can be re potted to a more suitable location (hanging bags and baskets on the fence!) They are an organic variety from B&Q and the strawberries are wonderfully large and sweet! Now I have a decent covering of crushed egg shells in the pots I no longer have slugs!

Anyhow. My card is for the Poodles Parlour challenge which is:

Round and Round the Garden

If you look closely, there are tiny flowers in the paper! The papers and flowers are all from the Dovecraft Tea House collection - 6x6 paper stack used. I bought them on a recent trip to Dunelm mill and they were a bargain! The image is from the Poodles Parlour and I've coloured it with Promarkers.

I've added some coloured card from my stash (forgot I had some this shade!) and also some sparkly bright pink card (I've had it for ages and rediscovered it when looking for something else!) and also some ribbon. Added some card candy and also the liquid pearl drops around the edges of the card and image.

It's more vibrant in real life - pesky weather! I've also followed the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch as they are fantastic sketches!

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Incy Wincy: Something Old, Something New (old are the turquoise and pink papers and ribbon, the new is the digi stamp)
Passion for Promarkers: Diva's with Glam and Glitter (liquid pearls?!)

  • Image: Poodles Parlour, coloured with Promarkers

  • Papers: Printed - Tea House collection from Dovecraft, all others my stash

First Christmas

I took advantage of the 90 digi images offer from Dustin Pike earlier in the week - 90 black and white images for $10 - bargain! And they were all Christmas themed but some could be used for other occasions. The current Dustin Pike challenge is:

Animals Rule

And here is one of the images from the set but made into two cards. I decided that I haven't got any special baby Christmas cards yet, so here are two!

Both use the bear and gift image and I've coloured them with Promarkers. The gift bow has had the glossy accents treatment although its not shown too well on the photos. All the papers are from my scrap box and I've doodled silver lines and dots around the edges.

Fluffy silver string is from my stash along with the confetti snowflakes and stars. Sentiments have been computer generated. I've followed the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch as I was wondering how I'd add all the elements together for the cards!

My cards fit the following challenges:

World Play Weekend: Wild Animals
Stampin' For The Weekend: Paws For Thought (4 legs)
I Love Promarkers: Christmas In July
Sweet Stamps: Winter Blues

  • Images: Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers: All from my offcuts box

Kick Off!

Jacob is Mr Popular at the moment at school judging by the number of parties he's been invited to! The latest one is not for a few weeks but its a football party, and I found the perfect image when going through my box of pre printed images. I've coloured to match Blackburn Rovers colours (well sort of although it looks suspiciously like Manchester City!) and I've used Promarkers.

The current Tiddly Inks challenge is:

Summer Movie

So this one will be Bend It Like Beckham. The gingham paper is from Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand and the solid blue is some pearlescent paper (donation from Lynsey!)

I've added a faux stitched line around the image and card. The small football embellishment was a button but I snipped the back off. The bottle cap was sent to me by Jenny. The two footballs at the side of the image are Sizzix die cuts as I remembered I had a sports die lurking at the box of my dies!

The divine twine is from The Ribbon Girl and I've printed the sentiment onto Safmat before layering up. And I've used another wonderful sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for inspiration!

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin' Challenge: One For The Boys
I Love Promarkers: Recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 2 buttons/gem/brads

Christmas Bling in Silver

Ah yes! Another Christmas card and another made with more of the Christmas tree decorations that was in the box given to me by Lynsey. My ever faithful helper (husband) snipped off the hanger loop at the top of the star as it didn't look right on the card.

I found some sort of silverish linen effect paper in my stash which I've cut up and dotted liquid pearls around the edge so that it fits the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch (below). I intentionally left the middle panel bare as the pearlescent paper I had just didn't quite sit right with everything else.

I've wound some thin silver craft wire around two brads and across the card three times, threading various beads and sequins from my stash onto it.

Glue was not dry when I took the photo hence it is lying flat as I didn't trust myself to take the picture quick enough!

The card also fits the following challenges:

Moving Along With The Times: Christmas in July
ABC Christmas: N for No Nonsense (no patterned papers)
Little Red Wagon: Christmas in July
The Paper Variety: Christmas in July
Celebrate The Occasion: Christmas in July (no red)

Strawberries V Chocolate

And in my opinion, chocolate wins every time!! This card is for the Tiddly Inks challenge which is:

Sugar and Spice with a Twist (sarcastic or humorous card)

I've coloured the Tiddly Inks image with Promarkers and she's got glossy accent glasses! All the papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd and I've just rounded the edges and inked them.

The image has been dotted around the edge with a fine black pen as it looked a little lost. The sentiment is computer generated and was thought up by my brain.

I've followed the wonderful Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch (always great for inspiration and making a card come alive!)

Don't forget! Fetch A Sketch launches at 9am tomorrow with two fabulous sponsors - so you won't want to miss it!

I'd also like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments: Food or Drink Theme

Something Old, Something New, Something Blue

As you know, I do like sketches and once again I've used a Sweet Sketch Wednesday for inspiration. The image is by Lee Jacobs and it's been bought from CraftsUPrint and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue here and there although its difficult to see on the photo.
The papers are off-cuts from making a wedding wordbook and are from the I Do! Wedding download from Funky Hand. I've used a Martha Stewart punch for the fancy bits and dotted liquid pearls in the spaces. All the flowers are from Hobbycraft and are a fairly recent purchase. The ribbon I found in my stash and was just the right size! I've made the hat pin with some faux pearl beads from a necklace I bought in a charity shop with the intention of chopping it up and using the elements.

And if you've not already popped over to the Fetch A Sketch pre launch party - please do so but be quick as it ends on Sunday 26 June! Some candy on offer to two lucky commenter's plus some extra prizes along the way! The Fetch A Sketch challenges launch on Monday 27 June at 9am!

Ahoy!

I am rapidly becoming a big fan of Jellypark images! This wannabe pirate has been coloured with Aquamarkers (Promarkers for skin tones) and it was a dream to colour! I've used papers from my stash box - the main paper is the current Get Funky freebie and the red is an oddment and I don't remember where it is from. The charm is from a really cheap 'silver' necklace from the Poundshop which I've split down so I can use all the charms! Twine is from the kitchen drawer.

And I've used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for inspiration:

The card fits the following challenges:

StampInsanity: Oh Boy
The Stamp Man: Boys / Men
Miami Doodles: Man or Boy

Mini Diva

I've not managed to join in with a Tiddly Inks challenge for a few weeks and I've been having withdrawal symptoms! I've had a Birthday card request so this seemed the perfect image to use and it fits in with the Tiddly Inks challenge which is:

Diva

Papers are from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away and the small dotty red one I found in my stash box. A bit of inking around the edges and some faux stitching thrown in! The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've handwritten the sentiment. The three 'brads' are card candy.

I've used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for inspiration.

The card also fits the Diva challenge on Creative Card Crew.

Fluffy Pink

I do like the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketches and do my best to join in each week and I knew that I'd be making this card for a friend but just didn't know what image to use. I have a large box full of pre printed images that I've not coloured (I have one with coloured images in too - just ready to be used!) and I found this Pink Petticoat image in it.

I've used one of my Nesties dies to cut it and then inked the edges with my trusty pink and blue (rather well used and gnarly inkpads!) plus dotted a pink gel pen line around the edges.

The papers are a mix of different digital brands and I found them in my box of oddments that I am desperately trying to use up as its becoming a little unmanageable! The pink fluffy stuff is actually yarn that I've had for ages (got it in black and white too!) and I knew I'd be able to use it one day!More gel pen dotting around the edges of the card and layers (blue pen this time) plus some dabs of liquid pearls and the card is complete. And actually a few days before I need to send it! To say I am a card maker, I am terrible for remembering Birthdays and sending cards!

As this is the 100th Sweet Sketch, there is a blog hop, so I'm off to take part in that!

Wedding RSVP

One of my cousins is getting married in September so I've have (so far) three RSVP's to make! And as they all need to be different, I've been looking for some inspiration! This is the first one I've made so far and it follows the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch.

The card blank is a lovely felt touch and I've used some off white pearlescent paper for the backing - cut with a Sizzix tag die (I've hidden the holes by layering or with the ribbon!)

The cake is a die cut and I bought a pack of them years ago and they are great for a last minute job! I've added seed beads and then layered it onto the card with 3d foam.

The ribbon is from my stash and matches the colour on the Wedding Invitations, the brad is also from my stash along with the tiny half pearls.

So that's one down, two to go - unless I get requests for any more! And then it will be making the Wedding Cards!

Dino Sore

I'd been asked to make, at short notice, a card for one of my cousins to-be-nephews who has broken both wrists on the first day of his Easter school holidays! Eeekkkk! So in need of a sketch that would fit the image (Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers) I found the current Sweet Sketch Wednesday, and because I'd not managed a challenge for a while, I thought it a great way of combining the need for the card and the challenge!

All the papers are from Funky Hand - Spookie Dookie Halloween download (see how I'm trying to use up ALL the bits in my bits box?!) and I've simply inked the edges with black ink and doodled a fine black line around them too. String is from my stash.

So hope the poor lad likes his card and gets better soon!

Not An Easel Card!

I'm just about making the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge in time this week. Something to do with faffing around too much and not making a decision! I've been asked to make some Dedication cards for Sunday, and this is one of them:

I've used a Di's Digi image, coloured with Promarkers and a little glitter glue plus half pearls, prima flowers and a rosebud from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated and the papers are from Nana's Nursery 8x8 stack which I bought half price in the January sales.

And although you can't really see it, I've used a Martha Stewart punch for the panel down the centre. The ribbon in real life is a really good match with the papers - I blame the lighting in the kitchen for the bad colour! And it follows the Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

Got a few more Dedication cards to show over the next few days so stay tuned!

Poppies

Sometimes I'm really organised and get cards made as they are ordered but when they give me loads of notice I leave it to the last minute. And this one is no exception! The request was for poppies, so poppies they got!

The image is from Delicious Doodles and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus some inking around the edges. The stamp is from the Our Betty Your Special Day set from Funky Hand and all the papers and ribbon are from my stash.

And I've used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday for inspiration:

Birthday Owl

I made the top three last week on Sweet Sketch Wednesday! Thank you! And as I like the sketches, here is my entry for this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

I've used papers from Polkadoodle's Paper Boutique Vol 1 along with the cute layered lady owl image. I've used my second set of Nesties (I treated myself a while ago!) to create the aperture through which the owl sits.

The sentiment is computer generated and the ribbon is some lovely velvet chocolate brown fabric edging that was given to my by Lynsey!

Had a pretty busy weekend just gone hence the lack of posts, more about that tomorrow though!!

Happy Snowman!

A lovely sketch on Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week. And because I had a bad headache on Saturday and could not think straight, I forgot to blog this card, so here it is now!

I've used papers from Dreams Come True from Funky Hand along with some very shiny silver card plus an image from Zlatoena which has been coloured with Promarkers and a little glitter glue.

I've used a Martha Stewart punch for the decorative edge on the shiny card plus snowflakes and ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated.
