Kick Off!

Jacob is Mr Popular at the moment at school judging by the number of parties he's been invited to! The latest one is not for a few weeks but its a football party, and I found the perfect image when going through my box of pre printed images. I've coloured to match Blackburn Rovers colours (well sort of although it looks suspiciously like Manchester City!) and I've used Promarkers.

The current Tiddly Inks challenge is:

Summer Movie

So this one will be Bend It Like Beckham. The gingham paper is from Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand and the solid blue is some pearlescent paper (donation from Lynsey!)

I've added a faux stitched line around the image and card. The small football embellishment was a button but I snipped the back off. The bottle cap was sent to me by Jenny. The two footballs at the side of the image are Sizzix die cuts as I remembered I had a sports die lurking at the box of my dies!

The divine twine is from The Ribbon Girl and I've printed the sentiment onto Safmat before layering up. And I've used another wonderful sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for inspiration!

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin' Challenge: One For The Boys
I Love Promarkers: Recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 2 buttons/gem/brads
Passion For Promarkers: Gingham
Crafters Companion: One For The Boys

I Forgot....

Is it typical that a card maker forgets Birthdays, or is it just me?! I coloured this stamp - from the Our Betty Birthday set from Funky Hand - a while ago so it was just sitting around waiting to be used. I had a sneaky feeling that I'd missed one of my friends Birthdays so this one will be sent to her on Monday seeing as she remembered mine!

My fellow Funkette Jenny has taken the brave step of offering a little candy in return for creating a card to her layout (below). Not one to miss out on a sketch, here is my card!

The stamp and sentiment are from the Our Betty collection and I've coloured it with Promarkers. The spotty paper is from All I Want for Xmas download, again from Funky Hand and I've used my Nesties to do the shaping.

Ribbon, button, thread and eyelet all from my stash. If you fancy entering, click here to go to her blog and have a look at her lovely cards too they always make me smile!

I'm feeling rather relaxed and chilled - I've got the house to myself as the boys are at Karate and not due back for almost an hour - the patio door is open, the sun is shining and has been all day and I've got the new Elbow cd playing on the computer. Rather loud too. But who cares?! And the cd is rather fab!

Polkadoodle Challenge 5 - Hearts

It's Friday so time for another Polkadoodle challenge! This week I've set the challenge of

Hearts

If you are stuck for inspiration have a look at the Design Team samples. The challenge is open until Sunday 13 February at 12noon and please remember to follow our rules!

I've used the cupcake template from Paper Boutique Vol 3 which I adore! Really lovely to make and it looks great too! I've joined the openings with a strip of chunky ribbon that Jenny sent to me a while ago (thank you!)

I've added punched hearts, coloured them with Promarkers and then added glitter glue over the top. The sentiment on the star has been handwritten.

Hope you can join us this week - good luck!

Cute or Scary?!

I've made this little monster from my own template and used papers from the new Funky Hand download Spooky Dookie which has papers that can be used not just for Halloween!

The card fits with the Let's Ink It Up challenge which asks for

Halloween Colours

The only bit of ink (if you don't count the liberal amounts around the edges of the monster!) is the little Stampin' Up sentiment stamp which was sent to me in a swop by Jenny (thank you!)

I've added some big wobbly eyes rescued from an old project Jacob made at nursery and then hand cut all the other shapes. The spots are from a hole punch - my cutting out skills are not that good!

  • Sentiment: Stampin' Up

Have A Great Day!

Well, I am right on the ball this week - only a day or so after the challenge has gone live and I've made my card! No last minute minnie for me on this one!! This card is for the current Bugaboo challenge which is to follow the sketch and the theme of:

April Showers

It was quite an inspired moment - the backing paper is a bargain 25p 12x12 sheet from my now joint favourite craft shop - Inspirations which has not long been open and is not too far from me (15 mins down the motorway towards Preston if I put my toe down). It's K & Co and is very nice!

I thought it went well with the image and I coloured it with Promarkers to match the paper. The coloured card is from my stash, along with the ribbon. The sentiment is an Anita's stamp and the largest of the three brads is Queen & Co, very generously sent to me by Jenny a while ago (see - I've opened them!!!) The other two are from my stash - probably Dovecraft.

Pink, Fluffy and Felt Tips

Although I try not to, I do look out for new challenge blogs. I really shouldn't because its not like I have oodles of time on my hands, but sometimes the challenges set make me smile and I know what I want to make!

Anyway, I found this one - Crafty Downloads whilst visiting my Funky Hand DT mate Allison. So Allison, its all your fault! This is their first challenge and I had the option to download the cute Angelic Molli as the theme is:

Pink and Fluffy
I've used some backing paper that I found in my stash which I printed a while ago when, unknown to me, the colour ink was running out so the colours should not really be like this, but not one to throw things away, I knew I'd be able to reuse it! The paper is from Funky Daze and I've used it to cover a tall and thin card blank. I've lightly inked the edges in pink and have done the same with the image. I've layered the image onto some scrap pearlescent pink card.

The pink and fluffy ensemble is made up of a number of things! The large backing flower and very pretty embossed pink flower were sent to me by Jenny (I'd sent her some stamped images that she had admired on Kath's blog and Jenny sent me a lovely stash of stuff in return!) the fabric covered button I bought from PeggyCrafts and the fluffy stuff I've had in my stash for absolutely ages!

I've coloured Molli with my new felt tips, then worked over the top with watercolour pencils and finally added some highlights with a white gel pen. Her wings have had the glitter glue treatment because wings just need to be glittery!
There are some lovely images to purchase via the challenge blog so I'd say, go and have a look!
