Polkadoodle Challenge Week 40 Inspiration- Favourite Card Shape

We are part way thorough the current Polkadoodle challenge and the theme is:

Favourite Card Shape

I LOVE using Paper Boutique Vol 3 because it makes card making so easy to produce stunning results!  This has to be my favourite card shape - really easy to make, print all the elements out A5 size, cut out, layer up with foam pads and add glitter where required!  You also get a pink version of the cupcake along with blank stars so you can add your own sentiment.

I've added some spotty organza ribbon from my stash to the hole I've punched at the top so I can close the card (it opens from the bottom) plus X Cut die stars from chocolate coloured card.  Really easy and so good on the hips!  Good luck with the challenge!

Have A Handy Birthday

The perfect image to send to the Man About The House who is rather handy with his hammer and chisel and will, at a moments notice, be prepared to wear the Tool Belt of Fixing Things.

Forever with a cheesy smile, whiter than white vest and a pair of cut-off jeans, what more could a woman (with a leaky tap) want?! Man About The House digi is available to buy (perfect for Fathers Day!) from Dr Digi! I've coloured him with Promarkers and used a sheet of paper from Polkadoodles Work and Play cd along with tools from Paper Boutique Vol 3 also from Polkadoodles. Sentiment is handwritten.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Catered Crop: Mainly Men
Glitter n Sparkle: Use A Digi
That Craft Place: Men
Bearly Mine: One For The Boys

Polkadoodle Challenge - Male

It's time for the midway inspiration for the current Polkadoodle challenge and the theme is Male. I do enjoy using the Paper Boutique cd's - this shaped card - from V3 - (along with removable tools) is really easy to make - I printed everything out using the A5 template and then glued the box together and once dry I could add all the tools.

It all fits into an A5 envelope quite easily and it does look rather stunning! There is a pop up sentiment that can be removed to write a message on too.

Good luck with the challenge! I'd like to enter the following:

Bloggers Challenge: For The Boys
Craftitude: Pop It Up
Crafts For Eternity: For The Boys
The Stamping Boutique: Dad or Masculine

Handy Man

It's all go at Dr Digi Towers - the handyman is in doing all the odd jobs that Dr Digi just cannot complete. Not that he doesn't know how to complete or want to complete. Or at least that's the story he's giving to Mrs Digi. So in comes Man About The House. Let's hope he knows the difference between a sonic screwdriver and an impact screwdriver....

I've used the fab Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3 for the tool pack and tools (which can all be removed!) - printed off as A5, cut out and assembled. Man About The House from Dr Digi has been coloured with Promarkers and then attached.

It's time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme this week is:

Happy New Year OR 2013

So you can make something that says Happy New Year or use the numbers 2013 (3 of something etc) and here is my creation!  I've used the fab cupcake template from Paper Boutique Vol 3 cd and printed off the A5 version, cut out all the elements and then layered up with foam pads.

I've glittered parts of the cupcake and around the edge of the star with a line of liquid pearl dots around the inner edge.  The stars have been cut with an X Cut die and the number 30 is a Sizzix die which I've added to some wire so they boing around!

The ribbon I found in my stash and it was a perfect colour match!  I made this for my cousin who was 30 over the weekend - which makes me feel really old as I remember her being born!!  And she is a real girly girl so will love this card!

I've made a cute Birthday card using the bear template from Paper Boutique Vol 3 - I used the A5 template, cut all the elements out and layered it up adding wobbly eyes and glossy accents on the nose.  I made the gift using papers from the same cd and adding some ribbon plus the doodled edge.

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! The theme this fortnight is:

Your Favourite Animal

Now I have no favourite and we don't have any pets but I could not resist making Betsy from the Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3 cd! I've used the pre coloured A5 template, cut out all the elements and then layered them up with foam pads - you even get a layered reverse of the card too which you can use if you want! All I've added are glossy accents to the nose and wobbly eyes - everything else is from the cd! Hey, Cupcake!

Wow! The weather has been fantastic today and just look how blue the sky is in my photo! And it was taken at around 7am this morning!

This card has been made with the cupcake template A5 size from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3. If you ever need cards in a hurry or want to watch a film on telly but don't want to sit doing nothing then this is the cd for you! I have a stack of printed templates and then when I sit in front of the telly, I cut out all night and before I know it, I have five or six finished!

I've added all the layers with foam pads then glittered the bottom of the cake and also the cream on the top. The stars have been glossy accented and the star sentiment came with the template - I've added a dotted line of silver and the glitter glue.

The ribbon is, believe it or not, from Primark! There are three ribbons on the card and I think about 2 meters of each. So 6 meters for a quid is pretty good going! I've left it long on purpose as it holds the front and back of the card together and it will need to be undone to be written inside.

This card fits the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft: Cooking Up A Storm
Creative Stamp Friends: Dots
Crazy Amigo Challenge: Cupcakes
Craftroom Challenge: Summer Birthday (logo and link to shop in sidebar!)
Crafts and Me Challenges: Birthday
Aud Sentiments: Food / Drink Theme
Cupcake Craft Room: Polkadots
Little Claire Designs: Pink and Brown

  • Ribbon: Primark

Simply Create Challenge 46 - Wings

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! The theme this fortnight is:

Wings

But I've interpreted it slightly differently as you can see! I've made a shaped helicopter card using the template from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3. The wings element is the flying aspect of the helicopter! I've used the A5 pre coloured template, cut all the shapes out and then layered up using foam pads.

The helicopter is attached with a strip of acetate and helps to support the card with its 'feet'. Hope you can join in the challenge this fortnight -for more details, please visit the challenge blog! Good luck!

And if you've not already popped over to the Fetch A Sketch pre launch party - please do so! Some candy on offer to two lucky commenters plus some extra prizes along the way! The Fetch A Sketch challenges launch on Monday 27 June at 9am!

Guilt Free Birthday Cake!

I just can't stop using this wonderful cupcake from the Polkadoodle cd Paper Boutique Vol 3 and out of the two colour combinations, I think this is my favourite!

I've made it as one of my friends has her Birthday next week, and this is the first time I've used the candle on the cake too! I've used the A5 pre coloured version, cut everything out and layered it up with foam pads. Then lashings of glitter glue and glossy accents on the chocolate stars!

It fits the CD Sunday challenge which is:

Birthday

They are celebrating their Birthday!! Happy Birthday!

I've dotted a silver line around the star sentiment and glitter glue has also been added - more sparkle than you can shake a stick at! The ribbon is from my stash and it holds the card together.

  • All paperbased items: Polkadoodle, Paper Boutique Vol 3
  • Everything else: My stash

Polkadoodle Challenge 10 - Black & White + One Other

Welcome to another Polkadoodle Challenge! This week Fliss has set the challenge and it is

Black and White plus One Other Colour

I've used this very cute doggie from Paper Boutique Vol 3 and its the A5 pre coloured version. I simply printed all the elements, cut them out and then layered them up with foam pads. And although I've not got evidence, you'll have to take my word for it that the rear is also decorated!

I made the card for one of my work colleagues who has recently celebrated her Birthday and has a little doggie just like this one! I've added wobbly eyes and glossy accents to the nose.

Good luck with the challenge - its open until Sunday 20 March at 12noon GMT.
