Polkadoodles Challenge - Anything Goes or a Gift for Dad

It's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge and the theme as always is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenged to make a gift for Dad.  I've made a gift card holder using a sheet of kraft card from my stash and I've added a die cut tag using the Posydoodles Basics Tag die and the fries are from Work and Play 12 and have been coloured with Promarkers.

The letter D is a die cut from my stash and I've added glossy accents to the top of it.  To finish I doodled a faux running stitch around the edge of the card and tag.  Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following:

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 1 - Anything Goes

The current Polkadoodle challenge still has a week left to run and its been an extended one due to the festive break.  The theme is Anything Goes.

I've made another gift card wallet this week but used papers from Twiggy and Toots Festive Fun which I printed onto thick card.  Again, no actual template used - just made it up as I went along!

I've recycled a thick kraft envelope as my base and then added papers from the cd plus the sentiment.  Quick and easy!  The 'berries' are doodle dewdrops also available in the store.

Jingle Bloomin' Bells

Another of those handy gift card wallets. This time I've been rather good and have recycled a colleagues Graze box - the card is really decent quality and the inside pattern changes regularly.  Of course, I did let him finish the contents of the box!

I've used the wonderful Christmas Sentiments Sheet 01 from Dr Digi for the sentiment - quick and easy to use!

Time for a new FTHS sketch challenge!  I've used Snowman's Stocking from the store, coloured with Promarkers and watercolour pencils plus added glitter glue for snow.  Everything else is from my stash.

Here is the sketch to follow along with the twist - you can do either or both but please remember that you must use a FTHS image.

And here is the inside of my gift card holder.

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 49 - Traditional Christmas

Time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Traditional Christmas

I've made a gift card wallet and used papers printed from Picknix 3:  Nordic Winter and added a bow made from contrasting papers.  My traditional bit is the colours that I've used - red, green and a bit of gold.

No template used for the wallet - I just made it up as I went along!  The chunky button I found in my stash (attached with a fair amount of glossy accents) and the bow slides off so you can open the wallet.

Don't forget to pop over to the blog to see all the other inspiration from the Design Team and to enter the challenge!  There is £10 worth of downloads from the store for one lucky winner!

Using Offcuts

I am a big fan of the Wordbooks that Anice at Funky Hand designs - I make quite a few of them during the year as they are easy to make and look fantastic!  However, when cutting out the 'pages' for the wordbooks, I'm always left with a top and bottom strip as I print on both sides of my card.

So, what to do with these strips as I don't like to throw anything away - just in case!

I've made this gift card wallet using leftover strips from the Blue Christmas wordbook download.  I made sure that the strip would be long enough to make the band to go round the wallet itself, added a dotted line with a blue gel pen around the edges and then embossed the front of the wallet with Swiss Dots and inked the edges.

On the inside, I added the little flap to contain the gift card from a matching scrap of card so that I can make two of the wallets from a sheet of A4 card.  I've always got scraps of card left over!

I've added some glittered snowflakes and also some ribbon I found in my stash and the gift card wallet is finished!  I've got lots more left over strips to use up so I'll be making more of these in the future!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Christmas Gingerbread!

The month long challenge at Jellypark is still ongoing and there have been some really cute new Christmas digi stamp releases too!  I've used two of them to make His n Hers Christmas Gift Wallets - these are actually for my parents!

I've used the Gingerbread Man and Gingerbread Woman, coloured them both with Promarkers and added liquid pearls for detail, cut them out and added them to the wallets I made with my own template, using Funky Hand papers - Funky Christmas Time download.

The wallets were made from one sheet of A4 card along with some careful cutting and joining!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion:  Christmas ABC

Shabby Tearoom:  Red and White and Gingham or Gingerbread

Scarecrow

There is a new digi release from Jellypark - a rather cute Scarecrow! I've coloured mine with Promarkers and then added it to a kraft card blank with a patch of hessian that I found in my stash (and I've had for at least 8 years!)

I've made the card blank into a gift wallet hence the chunky button and garden twine added so it can be closed.

Forgotten Funkies - Funky Little Christmas!

It's time for another blast from the past with a Forgotten Funkies post! This time the download choosen is Funky Little Christmas! It's not one for the faint hearted as its loud and proud!

I've made two gift card holders which have used one sheet of card each. I've then added some white satin ribbon so that the flap at the top remains closed, added a Marianne die snowflake and a matching button from my stash along with some embroidery thread, and its done!

They didn't take long to make at all - it took longer for the glue to dry!

Pink Gift Cards

I do like making these little gift cards - they are quick to make and means I can use up some of my stash at the same time!

I've used one of the Oh Come All Ye Crafters paper collections from Funky Hand - Santa Baby - and I've printed on both sides of the card before folding and scoring it into the card holder.

I've added a line around the edges with a pink gel pen, tied some ribbon and then added two different (you can only see one!) chunky chipboard stickers which are layered and glitter!  I've had them in my stash for ages!  I bought quite a few different packs from the poundshop a few years ago as they are really good quality and only a pound a pack!!

I've added a panel to write on which is an offcut of card.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I have a returning sponsor - Beth from Squidgy Digi - and she is offering the challenge winner 5 digi's from the store - thank you Beth!

I've used Van In Snow digi and coloured it with Promarkers plus stickles on the snow.  I've embossed the front with a Cuttlebug folder and added two metallic blue snowflakes cut with a Marriane Die plus some thin grosgrain ribbon to tie it all together.

Polkadoodle Challenge 27 - Gift Cards

Time for another Polkadoodle challenge!  The weeks are certainly flying by and before you know it, Christmas will be here!  The theme for the challenge is:

Gift Cards

I made a few of these last year and they were really popular, and to hedge my bets I made some more!  I've used one of my own tempates and I made two of the pouches from a sheet of A4 so it is quite economical.  The images and papers come from Paper Boutique Vol 2 and Santa has been cut out with a Nestie and then glittered.

The ribbon is from my stash and I've added a plain panel inside for a message to be written.

Good luck with the challenge!

Baby Tags

Are these cute baby tags or what?! Its part of a sheet of new baby themed downloads from Jellypark. I've printed them to fit two lots to a sheet of A4 card so that they are small enough to use as actual tags and I've coloured them with Promarkers.

I've made the gift pouches from my own template and they fit a credit card sized gift card inside. I've used ribbon, buttons and embroidery thread from my stash to decorate the fronts. The papers are from the fab new download from Funky Hand - Spring Has Sprung.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cuppa Tea

And here is the second of the Jellypark new release digi stamps! It would have been blogged rather sooner if I'd have not selected the wrong year... wishing my life away!

I've coloured the tea cup with Promarkers and I've made a little gift card holder with papers from Carina Gardner - Fresh Picked Spring as I thought the flower pattern went really well with the tea cup!

The green organza ribbon is from my stash.

Jellypark Challenge 14 - Something In My Pocket

It's time for another Jellypark challenge! And I must say that this one had me stumped for a while but then when the light came on, I was well away! The theme is:

Something In My Pocket

I've made another gift card holder using papers from Carinia Gardner - Fresh Picked Paper collection (with a scrap bit of card inside to write the message) and I've used the Cupcake Ticket, coloured it with Promarkers, layered it onto some more scrap card and added ribbon through the top.

The ribbon is from Meiflower and I've just tied it in a simple bow across the front.

A little bit of corner rounding and some inking and its complete! Good luck with the challenge - hope you can join us!

I'll be back later with one of two new release stamps!

Jellypark Challenge 12 - ABC

We have a great challenge for you over at Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge and this fortnight the theme is:

ABC - Anything But A Card

I do like making these gift card holders and they are so easy and quick to make too! I've adapted my usual template as these papers all printed as 8x8 so I had less to use!

All the images are from Jellypark and all have been coloured with Promarkers. The papers are all from digi kits, and from left to right:

Echo Park - Sidewalk Chalk; Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird; Creativity by Crystal - Me and My Brother; Carina Gardner - Fresh Picked Collection; Creativity by Crystal - Me and My Brother.

And then I've used a contrasting paper from the same collection on the inside and added an offcut of card so a message can be written on. A bit of inking around the edges plus a brad to hold the two flaps together and some suitable ribbon etc and they are complete!

Good luck with the challenge! For more details, please visit the challenge blog!

Tiddly Gift Cards!

It's been a while since I entered a Tiddly Inks challenge - I do get withdrawal symptoms but I've had a lot going on lately (the boys have a much healthier social life than I have!) and have never quite managed it in time, BUT! I've made these especially for the current challenge which is:

Anything Goes

I sold quite a few of these cute gift card holders at the last craft fair and with another one coming up in a few weeks I thought I'd better replenish my stocks!

I've used the Inky Critters set, printed them as the four and then coloured with Promarkers. I've just realised that in my haste to take the photo in the daylight I've not added the glossy accents so that will be done now!

All the papers are from the new Funky Hand cd - Twelve Crafters Crafting and I've used my own template to make the actual holder. Ribbon comes from Meiflower.

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Christmas Inspirations: Bows
2 Sisters: Ribbon

Gift Cards - Christmas Of Course!

I've got a couple of Craft Fairs in the run up to Christmas and I am trying to have things other than just cards, so here are a few gift cards. All have been made with papers from Funky Hand - Craft The Year Away cd (Remember December collection) plus the stamped image is from an Our Betty stamp set.

I've coloured them with Promarkers and added glitter glue to the lid of the gift. Ribbon is from my stash. I used two Nesties sets to layer the images and I've added a little extra card to write a message to the recipient inside.

Quite quick and easy to make once I'd made a template and worked out all my sizes! And I think I'm going to increase my Christmas Card goal to 150.....

I'd like to enter them into the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft: Gift Card
Divas by Design: Christmas in August
Creative Craft: Anything But A Card
Incy Wincy: Anything But A Card
My Craft Spot: Gift Bags and Boxes (almost?!)

Santa Gift Card's

Here are some gift card holders that I've made! I actually made four more but with different papers and stamps but haven't yet finished them off so will blog those at some point in the future!

I've used papers from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Christmas Creative and printed on both sides of the card. I've used my own template so I knew I could get two from a sheet of A4. I've added ribbon as the closure and a blank piece of card inside so the message can be written.

The Santa is a stamp also from Polkadoodles which has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue. And I've used a Nestie shape to layer it on.

Quite quick and easy to make once I'd worked out the template! They fit the following challenges:

Christmas Stampin': A Little Something From Me To You!
Bah Humbug!: Surprise!

  • All papers: Polkadoodles - Paper Boutique Vol 2
  • Stamp: Polkadoodles - coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities

Polkadoodle Challenge 49 - To Hold A Gift

It's Friday and welcome to another Polkadoodle Challenge! This week, Dee has set the challenge of to make a project to:

Hold a Gift

I've used part of a 12x12 sheet of brown card plus ribbon and a brad from my stash to make a hot chocolate holder!

I've used two Spellbinder Nestabilities to layer the image on. I printed off a few of the little digis from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas and then layered them, adding glitter glue to the cookies and also marshmallows.

I punched holes at the side of the slot to stop it from ripping - the brad holds the bottom flap in place so that the top can be tucked inside.

A nice and quick project to make which can be adapted to hold any sort of pouch.
