O Christmas Tree!

Another Christmas card! I am determined to achieve my 100 target by November, so I'm slowly chipping away at it!

I've used a Kraft card blank with a doodled black line around the edge plus a row of Cosmic Shimmer gold dots (bit of bling!)

The twill ribbon is from my stash and it is so easy to work with as it can be creased so you know where to cut and stick!

The stamp is from Polkadoodles and I've coloured it with Promarkers. The card fits the following challenge:

Car Doorhanger

I do like making doorhangers and I find them a great alternative to cards (plus they sell well at Craft Fairs!) I made this one a while ago (you may have seen it on Create and Craft!) but not actually blogged it yet. Its from Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand - the doorhanger template is on the cd plus the papers. Plus the lettering. And the digital images! Only thing I added was Promarker colour and the ribbon!


If I'd thought about it, I should have made the 'room' into 'vroom' - I know for next time!! Anyway, it fits the Moving Along Challenge which is:

Baby Sleeping

The Moving Along With The Times challenge this week asks for:

Lots of Spots

And as I've now finished (I hope!) Christmas card orders, I can now make something that is not Christmas related! I've made these two doorhangers using papers from Alison Sloan called Sweet Cookie Christmas which is actually a digi kit with lots of papers and elements although I've only used two of the papers. The kit is due to be released very soon!

The images are stamped Forever Friends, coloured with Promarkers and I've added letters cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set. The ribbon is from my stash. I've edged the hangers with ink and then doodled a fine line with matching gel pen around the edges to give a bit of definition.

I quite like making doorhangers - makes a change from cards!

Dare You Enter?!

Sometimes when I see a challenge I know exactly what I am going to make, and for the Moving Along With The Times challenge this was no exception!

This weeks challenge is:

Anything But A Card

As I had the brand new Halloween download from Funky Hand - Spooky Dookie to play with, I knew I wanted to make a door hanger. I've used a chipboard template for the actual shape (which I drew round) and printed directly onto a sheet of 270gsm white card which I glued back to back.

I've inked the edges and added here and there some black card candy - not sure if you can quite see it in the photo. The ransom style letters are also from the download and I've inked them too.


Both the tombstone and mummy are Sizzix die cuts - I've added the letters on the tombstone with liquid pearls and the little mummy is wrapped with bandage. Really quick and easy to do - the longest part is waiting for it all to dry!

Spooky Dookie is a fab download and it can be used not only for Halloween as there are some non Halloween type sheets too!

Christmas Word Book

I need to be getting into the Christmas swing now as I've got to increase my box of Christmas cards somehow! So this fits perfectly with the Moving Along challenge which is:

I've used the Christmas Word Book section on Funky Word Books cd from Funky Hand. I was having a little tidy up the other day (I say little as I'd take a month of Sundays to do a decent tidy up!) and found the pages already printed off in its own little folder (how organised was I?!) so it seemed a shame just to put it back, so I've finished it off!

The lettering along the front has been cut with my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet die set and the card is Bazzil Basics in a lovely Christmas green.

Both ribbons are from my stash and I suspect they are from Blackburn market. The little bell I found in my Christmas stash box and probably originated from ebay!

And if you ever make these word books and struggle for envelopes, well, your prayers have been answered as you can buy them from Funky Hand!

Santa and Rudolph

A great simple sketch this week from Moving Along With The Times, plus the challenge is also to use animals.

I'm attempting to be organised with my Christmas card pile this year, so this wonderful image by Lee Jacobs - bought from CraftsUPrint is perfect! I've coloured it with Promarkers and have added some glitter glue to Santa.

The papers are from the pesky 8x8 stack by Dovecraft Ho Ho Ho collection that is just siting there waiting to be used! I'm still not sure if I like the papers but this one seemed to fit quite well! I've added a matching brad (bottom corner) plus a square one just above plus two more in the top corner (good colour match so difficult to spot!) The organza ribbon and bit of red card are from my stash.

You Need It For When?!!

I've been asked to make an 18th Birthday Party Photo Album for one of the staff at nursery (I feel really really old when they are that young!) and they need it by Thursday....!!

The brief is, pink, silver and black. So in need of some inspiration I've turned to a few current challenges, and so far I've completed 2 of the 18 (yes 18!) pages....

For the first, I've used the Sketch Girl sketch:

The same sketch is repeated as a mirror image on the reverse of the page. And for page 2 I've used the sketch from Moving Along With The Times:
I've used 300gsm smooth white card as the album base, doodled a line around the edges and for the printed papers I've used Pinkie Pops from Funky Fairy. The silver card is from my stash, and as luck would have it, I had 3 balls of what is technically termed fibres (wool) that matched the colours perfectly!

I've added markers as to where the photos should be placed just so it all looks right in the end.

So only another 16 pages - double sided - to go!! So watch out for more sketch challenges over the next 2 days! Good job I've booked tomorrow off work otherwise I'd really be burning the midnight oil!

Fairy Wishes

A nice simple sketch on Moving Along With The Times this week and I've used one of my very new acrylic stamps from Polkadoodles.

This stamp is Maggie and she comes with the sentiment and also a few extras plus a big butterfly that if you are clever enough (I wasn't!) you can mask it and add it to her so she looks like she has wings! Or you can use the butterfly on it's own! I've coloured her with Promarkers and added her onto some shiny red card from my stash.


The sentiment stamp is also from the set and I've added ribbons from my stash. The red spotty paper is also Polkadoodles. A little bit of doodling and I'm done!

There are 6 of the acrylic stamps in the set and they all stamp wonderfully crisp and clean!

Sneaky Sample!

Apologies for the lack of blogging over the weekend and yesterday - got a good excuse though! Nikky at Polkadoodles is due to release her new cd on Friday at 10am on Create and Craft! The new cd is called All Around and Everywhere and I've been creating samples for her to show.

And when I saw this sketch from Moving Along with the Times, I knew just the image to use! Everything you see here with exception to the ribbon and button is from the cd. These cakes are just divine and look so real! Especially as I've added glitter glue to it (can't really see it on the photo).

All the papers and elements from each of the collections on the cd work really well together and the colours are so fresh and calming! I'm probably going to get my hand (and bottom!) really smacked by Nikky for showing this card - but if you want more then tune in to Create and Craft at 10am on Friday. Plus have a look at the Polkadoodle challenge blog on Friday as there is bound to be more samples from the DT using the new cd!

Sweet Baby Girl

Sometimes when I see a sketch I know exactly what I'm going to make! And this is such a lovely sketch to follow! It is the current challenge for Moving Along With The Times, plus it is an open theme. I've made this sweet new baby girl card using a sheet downloaded from CraftsUPrint which is really versatile as I managed to make two cards from it! The main image has been printed onto white linen card and then layered up with foam pads.


The image has been layered onto a nesties shape and I've dotted 3d silver paint around the edge and lettering using my Cuttlebug Baby Face die.

Cute Companion

The Moving Along With The Times challenge this week is this sketch and also a theme of cute companions: And as I am a lucky girl and get to play with all the new things from Polkadoodles before they are released I can show you another sample from the very soon to be released Paper Boutique cd which is full of templates and 3d cards plus sentiments and backing papers. This one is so cute!

All paperbased items are from the cd - the sentiment is handwritten. There also is a reverse to the owl but I've not shown it on the card. This is the smallest size and the front and back print out onto a sheet of A4 but there are also an A6, A5 and A4 sized images to cut out and decoupage. As you can see, you get lots of layers!

Really easy to cut out and layer and a great way to do some crafting whilst watching telly!! I watched Bewitched (the 1960's version) on Sunday morning whilst cutting this out! I do like the older programmes!

A Little Bit More

I've been on a roll this weekend, completing things that I started and here is the second of three installments on that!

This week, Moving Along With The Times has a sketch: And I've interpreted to fit my needs. The papers again are My Minds Eye 'Bella Bella' 12 x 12 double sided card stock and the plain chocolate coloured card is Bazzill Basics. The ribbon and gems are leftovers from making the Wedding Stationery and I have just rounded and inked edges.

The Wedding cake photo is the last one in the album and the picture below shows the back cover of the acrylic / acetate album - I like to keep the front and backs plain as they will get handled the most.

This paper is really beautiful and I am quite pleased with myself that I have the best part of a sheet left to play with on a future project!

Strawberries, Cream and a Hint of Chocolate!

There is a new challenge blog! And it's called Moving Along With The Times- the DT were part of the original Daisy and Dandelion Challenge blog but with this new blog, entries do not need to feature Daisy and Dandelion.

This is their first week, and its a sketch with a theme:

...with it being Wimbledon this fortnight I thought that a colour theme of Strawberries and Cream with a hint of Chocolate would be great!

I've used some free digital papers and image from Tinker and Co. The sundae has been carefully cut out and then layered onto some white thick card as it looked a bit lost on the backing paper! I've hand written the sentiment and then double layered it onto some scraps.

I've made the little embellishment with my Cuttlebug flowers die - layering two of the die cuts and adding a pearl topped hat pin and seed beads. The chocolate element has come from the ribbon, which I found in my stash and there was just enough!
