All Finished!

And here is the 18th Birthday Photo Album in all it's finished glory!! Well, almost as I forgot to take a photo of the last 2 pages for some strange reason!!

Danielle loved it and there are rumblings that others want one for their forthcoming 21st's!! I've said that I'm happy to do them, just more notice is needed!!!

The reverse of each page is a mirror image of itself as this was the easiest way. The little white blocks are notes for where each photo should be placed so to keep the balance of the page.

The brief was pink, black and silver!

I've used the Funky Fairy Pinkie Pops download including some of the 8x8 papers within the download as these made life a lot easier! The card for the actual pages is 300gsm smooth white card from The Papermill Shop and I've doodled a line around the edges. I also used silver card and the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet set used for the very glittery letters along with a Nestabilities Spellbinder die. Plus lots of fibres, gems and card candy, including liquid pearls and glitter glue.

The last two sides should be here but I forgot to take a photo!

Total of approximately 15 hours from start to finish to make this and had to think on my feet too!

Are You Ready??!

Hope you are ready for what you are about to read! Each of the following pages of the Birthday Photo Album (yes it is completed! And will blog it in it's entirety over the weekend!) are for a particular challenge.


I've not added each sketch as the post would become a little difficult so click on the links to see each sketch.


I've used Pinkie Pops download from Funky Fairy for the whole album and I think I've only ever used the papers once or twice before. Added gems from my stash plus fibres (balls of wool, if I'm honest) plus silver card, a Martha Stewart punch and card candy here and there.


First up is the Card Positioning Sketch:

Then two pages for Corrosive Challenges which asks for Die Cuts - I've used my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet die set for the lettering. And that is very very glittery card that I have used and I am still wearing the glitter 2 days later! The second page is for all the nursery staff to write their names on, in case you were wondering why most of it is blank!

Next, The Crafty Pad who want Swirls and Pearls - the pearls are liquid pearls.

Crazy 4 Challenges wants pleats - notice how I've hidden the staples under the fancy fibres!

Next, Cupcake Challenges wants to be Dazzled! So armed with glitter glue and highly reflective silver card this page will dazzle!

Another sketch this time from Friday Sketchers. I've used a Swiss Dots folder for the embossing on the silver card as the reflection was a little severe and needed softening!

Papertake Weekly also has a sketch and I've used one of the 8x8 backing paper extras from the paper collection to create one of the frames in the sketch.

Another sketch, this time from Sketch Saturday and I've added some extra gems to the fancy swirls on the backing paper.

And finally, Sketch and Stash with another sketch.

I know that was a lot to get through, but at least it was one page per challenge!

You Need It For When?!!

I've been asked to make an 18th Birthday Party Photo Album for one of the staff at nursery (I feel really really old when they are that young!) and they need it by Thursday....!!

The brief is, pink, silver and black. So in need of some inspiration I've turned to a few current challenges, and so far I've completed 2 of the 18 (yes 18!) pages....

For the first, I've used the Sketch Girl sketch:

The same sketch is repeated as a mirror image on the reverse of the page. And for page 2 I've used the sketch from Moving Along With The Times:
I've used 300gsm smooth white card as the album base, doodled a line around the edges and for the printed papers I've used Pinkie Pops from Funky Fairy. The silver card is from my stash, and as luck would have it, I had 3 balls of what is technically termed fibres (wool) that matched the colours perfectly!

I've added markers as to where the photos should be placed just so it all looks right in the end.

So only another 16 pages - double sided - to go!! So watch out for more sketch challenges over the next 2 days! Good job I've booked tomorrow off work otherwise I'd really be burning the midnight oil!

Pinkie Pops and Flowers

The Cute Card Thursday challenge this week is:

"Family Affair"

A nice easy one for this week!! We want you to make a card for a member of your family. As simple as that. Could be mum, dad, husband, son, sister - anyone!!

This card has been made well in advance for one of my cousin Jane's Birthday in June - as I am likely to forget between now and then! The backing panel has been printed onto vellum and I've used the Pinkie Pops download from Funky Fairy Papercrafts. The flowers are also from the same download.

The black ribbon is from my stash (Blackburn market for 10p) and I've rounded and inked all edges.

Stamp Something Challenge - Something For A Friend

I am now back in the swing of challenges and this is the first one for the week! The Stamp Something challenge is:

to do is create something for a friend. It can be a card with a sentiment about friendship, a gift for a friend or a scrapbook page that highlights some fun times!! We don't always have a chance to tell our friends how special they are, so take this chance to let someone know how important they are!

I've made this for a friend who has gone through a lot over the last 2 years and it seems that history is repeating itself. It's just to tell her to keep hanging on!

Backing paper is from Funky Fairy - it was the free download for last weeks Halloween challenge but I didn't get round to making a card, so decided to use it on this one instead. The orange card is from my stash, along with the ivory card. The monkey is a Cuttlebug die which I have coloured with watercolour pencils and chalks. The eyelets are from the bottomless bag sent from Kath, and the sentiment has been stamped with the trusty Studio G alphabet set.
