Fetch A Sketch Challenge 36 - Midway Extra

Time for the Midway Extra post for the current Fetch A Sketch challenge.  Here is a reminder of the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch!  I've used papers from Tinker and Co which I'm not sure if they are still available as the blog has not been updated for over 2 years - the papers are still fab though!  And although I've taken the photo of the card when its not straight - it is honestly!

I've added a faux running stitch around the edge of the card and I've used a McMahon Five Designs Breast Cancer image which is a freebie.  I printed it twice and decoupaged the ribbon and hope sentiment.  I've added colour with Promarkers and also some half pearls.

The sketch has almost a week to run so you still have time to enter!

Pretty In Pink

I do like Lili of the Valley images and don't actually own any but I did notice that they had an ebay shop that sold discontinued and end of the line stock! So I bought some packs of the die cut pre coloured images (and some more since!) However, I didn't realise just how big the large images were! I've had to cut this one down to fit it on the 14.5cm square card!


I've added a bit of stickles to the image and some inking too. The pink papers are from Tinker and Co - not sure if they are still available and the sparkly stuff is an old tissue box that I've used for layering. The string is from my stash and the sentiment is a magazine freebie from Ladybug Craft Ink.

It's not often I make a pink card. Probably because I'm surrounded by blues all the time and just do not indulge in my feminine side! I've used papers from Tinker and Co which I've had for ages and the name of the collection is Shabby Quilt - they were a freebie download but I'm not sure if the link is still active.

I've used a Squiggles Stamp - Miss Evie - Frills and Flowers (the store has 20% off at the moment!) and coloured it with Promarkers. I've used an acyclic Studio G stamp for the sentiment and the flowers are from my stash (I've had the tea roses for aaggggeeesss so decided to use them!)

And the ribbon is also from my stash now that I've had a tidy up and its all neatly colour co-ordinated in large grip seal bags - still doesn't all fit in the plastic tub but at least I can get to what I want without swearing!

Simple and Cute!

I've missed so many of the Lili of the Valley challenges, mainly due to lack of time! But I'd been sent some of the lovely die cut images by Enfys some time ago and I liked the look of the current sketch challenge, so I went for it!


And made two cards! It seemed a shame not to make both a girl and a boy card! The images are Lili of the Valley and are just so sweet! For both cards I've used similar elements - for the girl card I've used papers from Tinker and Co - Shabby Quilt along with a Martha Stewart punch which I've threaded the ribbon through via another punch I had plus ribbon and seed beads from my stash. The brad was also sent to me by Enfys an age ago!

The matching boy card again uses papers from Tinker and Co but this time Spring Fresh along with a Fiskars border punch, ribbon from Stampin' Up (Tempting Turquoise) and again seed beads and brads from my stash. The large sentiment brad is from Enfys too!

So there you go! Two pretty quick and simple cards to add to the baby box!

Pink & Silver Wedding Album

And here is the finally finished Wedding Album that I'd been asked to make! The theme was pink and silver and I was given all the photos to add to the album so had to work around those to make it all fit.

I've used various ribbons, pins, charms and gems from my stash along with silver card and the printed pink card (3 different styles) is a freebie download from Tinker and Co.

So you can see why I've been a little quiet this last week! Normal service is expected to be resumed soon!

Here Comes The Bride!

I've been asked to make another photo album, again from someone at nursery and its for her friend who got married earlier in July and she was a bridesmaid. I'm slowly working my way through the 31 photos that need to go in the album and I thought this picture in a layout would be perfect for the Creative Craft Challenge which is:

I've used 300gsm smooth white card for the album page - kept the depth of the A4 sheet with the width cut to 9 inches. The colour scheme is pinks and silver with a bit of bling, so I've added a sliver border around the edges and used two different types of organza pink ribbon from my stash to create the bow.

The heart is Club Green and I've used backing paper downloaded as a freebie from Tinker and Co called Shabby Quilt. I've used the three swirly patterned papers throughout the album as a perfect match to the Bridal colour scheme.

So far I've made 5 full pages (double sided) so just another 8 to go!

I'm also in need for more 300gsm white card stock - I have enough for this project, but I just can't seem to get any decent stuff from anywhere! I bought what I have from The Paper Mill Shop online in one of their bargain boxes just before Christmas but they have changed the card that goes into the boxes and the heaviest I can get is around 220gsm which is not heavy enough for what I need. So does anyone know of where I can get some?!

Shirt and Tie

Time for a male card and this has been made for the Rosie Dee Challenge which is:

All elements (except for white card circle and jute string) are digital downloads from Tinker and Co and the collection is called Vintage Dad. I've printed it all off onto ivory hammered card and then layered the shirt.

The dodgy photo is another taken by my husband and this was the best one of the two as this is shown flat. The other pic he'd stood the card up but wrong way up so it looked really odd. And he didn't realise.....

A bit of inking and corner rounding and a bit of dotting and it's complete!

Super Mum!

Time for a Doodle Dragon Studio challenge! I'm not sure if I really thought my card through properly for the challenge which is the sketch below:

As I've made a Super Mum dragon......!! Someone will see the funny side won't they?!! Anyway, image is by Dustin Pike and I've coloured her with felt tips and a bit of white gel pen for highlights. And yes, I forgot to colour the clouds.....!

The papers are from Tinker and Co and are freebie downloads (the kits are really good!) and I've sort of used my Nesties die for the image shape - I drew round it as a template as I'd not left enough card around the image.....

This card is becoming a bit of a disaster! The sentiment is a Studio G mini wooden alphabet set and I've doodled around the edges of the card. Flowers are from The Craft Garden and the gems are from my stash.

Vintage Dad

I always have a bit of a panic when deciding what to use for the Sketch and Stash challenge! This one was no exception as I was going to use a number of different things (all recent purchases in a very very fab sale!) but it sort of didn't happen. Don't know why either!

Anyway, this is the current Sketch and Stash challenge:
I've used (only for the second time!) the freebie download papers Vintage Dad from Tinker and Co - I actually printed the backing paper to almost the size I needed so very little cut off! The shirt is also part of the download bundle and I simply cut it out, layered it onto some chocolate brown pearlescent card and then antique gold and stuck it to fit the sketch.

The ribbon is a new purchase! Card candy from Craftwork Cards and the sentiment is from the Stampin' Men set from Clare Curd Signature Range.

At least I still have plenty of untouched stash to play with on a future challenge!!

Hoppy Birthday!

This card was intended to be very different from how it ended up! I did colour a Dustin Pike image and then just didn't know what to do with the background, so its in the 'finish later' pile that I'm not sure what its doing or where its going. So, I found my Penny Black Stickeroos and the frog themed ones. I'd had a small Tinker and Co backing papers printing session and decided that these papers would work with the image.

And I know there is only one on here! I've used the current Sketch and Stash challenge layout but I've created a separate card for that challenge - I just liked the layout!

The papers are free downloads from Tinker and Co - Spring Fresh and I thought they worked well with the image. The sentiment has been computer generated and the ribbon is from my stash. I think I need to use more of my stickeroos!

Polkadots and Buttons

The Creative Card Crew Challenge this week is:

Polkadots

The papers I have used are freebies from Tinker & Co - Vintage Dad and Strawberry Sundae. I've simply roughly torn circles from the papers, feathered the edges and then layered them up. The strip across the middle is left over paper then I've added a button to the centre and one to the bottom right with twine, and that's it!

I liked the combination of the colours and I certainly will be using the Vintage Dad papers again! I did think about adding a sentiment, but sometimes I just need a card that doesn't say anything.

Strawberries, Cream and a Hint of Chocolate!

There is a new challenge blog! And it's called Moving Along With The Times- the DT were part of the original Daisy and Dandelion Challenge blog but with this new blog, entries do not need to feature Daisy and Dandelion.

This is their first week, and its a sketch with a theme:

...with it being Wimbledon this fortnight I thought that a colour theme of Strawberries and Cream with a hint of Chocolate would be great!

I've used some free digital papers and image from Tinker and Co. The sundae has been carefully cut out and then layered onto some white thick card as it looked a bit lost on the backing paper! I've hand written the sentiment and then double layered it onto some scraps.

I've made the little embellishment with my Cuttlebug flowers die - layering two of the die cuts and adding a pearl topped hat pin and seed beads. The chocolate element has come from the ribbon, which I found in my stash and there was just enough!

Fairy Wishes

This is a new challenge blog that I came across when blog hopping - Scrappy Frogs. This is their fifth challenge and it is:

This challenge will be fairies!! Yes, fairies! You can do any type of project as long as it has a fairy on it.

The papers and Milly image I won a few weeks ago from Tinker & Co and I'd printed them off but not really used them and they are so pretty and delicate and fitted this challenge perfectly! I've lightly inked the edges with my trusty faded black ink pad but the papers have a 'shabby' feel to them anyway. I've used some fancy scissors for the edging as I've not yet won the lottery so the Nesties will just have to wait that bit longer!

And look - there is even a little frog! The flower has been cut from scraps of the backing paper and I've used my trusty Cuttlebug die. Centre is a card candy brad which I have inked as the colour was a bit bright. Ribbon from my stash, and the sentiment tile was a freebie from a craft magazine a while ago.

I've actually followed an old Sketch Saturday layout for inspiration and its one that I didn't manage to complete at the time.

Soft Greens and Blues

It feels like ages since I took part in the Sketch and Stash challenges! This week is a lovely sketch and I found the perfect image in my stash to use!

The image was sent to me by my Funky Hand DT mate Kath. I've coloured it with watercolour paints and then watercolour pencils to add a bit of depth. All the papers are from Tinker & Co which I won a few weeks ago as part of the monthly challenge.

I've re-found my Martha Stewart punch and the ribbon I discovered in my stash and it matches perfectly! Edges have been lightly inked with a blue and then a very faded black inkpad.

The flowers have been cut using Cuttlebug flowers die and all the card candy is from Craftwork Cards. I was going to add a sentiment but can't really fit it anywhere, so it will just have to be as it is!

I Am A Winner!!!

Another sketch, and not one I could leave, especially as its for the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp challenge and I'd just won a monthly competition on Tinker & Co! I'd entered my Warren card for the monthly challenge and I won these beautiful papers and digital images! The collection is called Milly Peace and there are 6 papers and various sized copies of the image. These papers were so easy to use - the card took hardly any time at all to make! I printed the papers off slightly smaller than the default setting so I wouldn't have to trim them too much for the card blank. Lightly inked the edges - they are a little grungy anyway, cut out the circle segments by using a compass (best 50p I have spent!) and the frame for the image was a fancy pair of scissors that I found.

Ribbon is from my stash, and matches the blue paper perfectly! I've only used the three dotty papers on this card - there are 3 other ornate looking papers yet to go at so watch out for those!

Introducing Warren The Rabbit!

Can it really be challenge 7 on Sketch and Stash?! It must be, as here is the sketch:

I happen to stumble across Tinker & Co blog the other day (must have been blog hopping!) and found these very sweet freebies to download! The rabbit (Warren - hahaha geddit?!) comes on a sheet of A4 in various sizes and Easter themed poses plus there are 4 other A4 printed sheets, two of which I have used here.

Apologies for the naffness of the photos - the colours are quite pinky and coral and not with a strange blue colour cast (it was early doors when I took the photos!)

Because, it seems, a baby boom is imminent (must be something in the water!) amongst work colleagues, friends and nursery staff, I thought I'd better add to the baby card stash. I know there is going to be at least one little girl, so I am now fully prepared!

I've cut the papers into squares, shaped the edges and inked with lilac Whispers and also bright pink (strange combination but it did work!) I neatly cut Warren and added some wire behind the flower he is holding to give it some strength, and then I added a bit of acetate so he bounces. Like a rabbit...... Sorry, could not resist!

Added some glitter glue to the centre of the flower (yes baby girls like bling!), a Studio G sentiment and some card candy.

I've more images of Warren so expect some more cards with him on! Tinker & Co are hoping to give a free download each month - Warren was the March freebie, so I'll certainly be looking out for the April one as I think they are so sweet!
