I Love Promarkers - Challenge 429 - Dr Digi

It's Wednesday so time for a new I ❤ Promarkers challenge!  The theme this fortnight is

Anything Goes

And we are sponsored by Dr Digi and I've used Caffeinated Craig and coloured him with Promarkers.  Papers again are from my stash (I'm slowly using them up) and needing to be creative with all the little offcuts that I have!  They are digitally printed and from Funky Hand and sadly no longer available.

Sentiment stamp is from my stash (all the words are individual so I've just made up how I wanted them to look) and I've managed to use three brads from my stash too (seem to have a lot of those as well!)  Good luck with the challenge!

Daring Card Makers Challenge - Cactus!

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme for this week is

Cactus

I've used a Little Miss Muffet stamp and coloured it with Promarkers plus coloured pencils for the background.  Papers are Papermania Secret Garden which I've had for donkeys in my stash and this is the first time I've opened the pack.... shame on me!!

I've used the offcut from layering the paper onto the card blank across the centre of the card, and used kraft card for layering.  Two brads from my stash (again had them for ages and need to get them used!) and finally a running stitch with a black fine liner pen.  Good luck with the challenge!

Daring Card Makers Challenge - Cut It Up

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme for this week is

Cut It Up

I've made some layered windmills to dress up three gift boxes I bought a while ago and not done anything with!  The papers are Dovecraft Back to Basics 3 and because they are single sided papers, I glued two sheets together before I cut the windmill shapes using a really old template set from Lakeland.

As they are quite 'bulky' I used foam pads in between the layers and topped off with a brad in the centre of each - I've had these brads for years and just kept thinking they were too pretty to use..... but I need to use my stuff as I have a lot!!

Clear Out

I had a major tidy up and clear out just before Christmas of all my craft stash - finding things I'd forgotten I had, didn't realise I had or just did not use any more.  One of those that I'd forgotten about was two silk Gerber flowers, one of which I've used on this card:

I've used Craft Asylum papers which I got in the Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (my early Christmas present as bought in the Black Friday sale), adding a faux running stitch around the edge with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.  I've made the bunting and slightly curled the edges.  Waxed string and brads are from my stash (again, found the brads in the tidy up!)

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted however the word dies are now retired and no longer available.

Gift and Twine

A lovely simple sketch for Card Positioning Sketches challenge this week:

And I've used a Simple Doodles digi image which has been coloured with Promarkers. I've used Bazzill basics green backing paper and some other stuff that I bought from Harrogate in March last year that looks a bit like swiss dots. It probably has some fancy name but it escapes me at the moment!

I've added some chunky green brads and a blue one on the gift, a little bit of doodling around the edges of the layering and then added some garden twine.

Simple but manly card all the same!

Sister

This is the final wordbook that I have been asked to make and it fits with the Lexi's Creations Challenge which is:

I've used papers from Funky Daze from Funky Hand and I've made the letters using word art and then layered them onto the card.

To hold the layers together, I've used 5 silver jump rings as I was becoming limited for space otherwise the card would not have fitted into the envelope! Scraps of ribbon have been used to tie around the jump rings and I've added three dragonfly brads that I have had for years and not really used, but the colours were a perfect match!

The smaller flower is a Prima one which I have coloured with Promarkers and it is layered onto a random one I found in my stash. Added seed beads to some of the letters plus I made the hat pin.

These word books are really easy to make even if you decide to make them from scratch!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 20 - Something for Mum

It's Friday again and another Polkadoodle challenge! This week, Fliss has set the challenge to make:

Something for Mum and the colours Blue and Peach

I had a little disaster with my first idea and attempt so that's on one side to be resuscitated for another day! So in the end, I made a little fancy gift box.

I've used the Sugar Birdies cd and used one sheet of A4 for the actual box. There is no need for glue as it holds itself together with the tabs through the top.

The flowers are also from the same cd and I printed the sheet so that it fitted four times onto a sheet of A4. The flowers were then coloured with Promarkers and I've simply layered them up and gently rolled the petals to give some definition.

And finally I've added a silver flower brad to the centre.

The box is really quite small so it won't hold anything much bigger than a bag of chocolate buttons!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 16 - Monochromatic

Another Friday already? Where did the week go! Because it is Friday it is another Polkadoodle challenge and this week the theme has been set by the lovely Nettie, who has asked for:

Monochromatic

Which simply is shades of one colour. Now I've made these windmills which if you look closely are all shades of one colour, I've just made them in four different colours!


The papers have been printed double sided and I've used a windmill template to cut the shapes out. And the papers are from the brand new cd from Polkadoodles - All Around and Everywhere - which is launched today at 10am on Create and Craft (so you'll get to see these windmills!)

The windmills were pretty easy to make especially as the large brads holds them together.

And to keep the balance (they had a tendency to twist round) so you see the front, I've glued a button to the reverse of the windmill which also hides the stick a little too. Notice that the glue wasn't dry when I took the photo!

Penny Black Challenge - Week 40

It's week 40 of the challenges over on Penny Black, and this week it is a sketch

Admittedly, I am just about in time for this one but I did make it a few nights ago and then forgot to take a photo of it.

The image was sent to me by Kath and I've water coloured the image. The backing paper is a lovely lightly ribbed green thin card that I got in a kids pack some time ago from a book club thing at nursery. See how precise I am?! I've used a Martha Stewart punch on it and inked the edges. Oddments of ribbon have been added across the green card and I've used two colours of Prima Esprit flowers and brads and then cheated and used card candy on the edges!

Pink Elephant Challenge # 3

The Pink Elephant challenge this week is a very fab sketch (by my fellow Funky Hand DT mate Carol):

I've had a bit of trouble trying to do flourishes and swirls and it, to be honest, was just not happening, so it ended up being two flowers folded in half with a Queen & Co brad to hold it all together. Plus, as I look at the card again, it goes well with the image! The image was sent to me by Lythan in a recent Funky Hand image swop and I've coloured it with watercolour pencils.

Originally, the background of the card was in a solid colour but it just didn't look right, so to keep to the sketch, I made a frame from rose pearlescent card - the image is layered onto raspberry (which I always thought would be pink but this is purple!) pearlescent card - both cut from huge sheets from The Range.

Fancy edge punch is a Martha Stewart one and I've added some pink grosgrain ribbon just to hide the dodgy edge that I managed not to cut very well!

I hand wrote the sentiment with watercolour pencils as I now need to get cracking on Mothers Day cards!

Huge Funky Love - Trio Card Set

Here are three cards I have made using the new Funky Hand download - Huge Funky Love. Primarily the download is comprised of a full alphabet and numbers for to make word and number books, but there are also 6 pages to print at A4 which are the different backing papers.


So, I've just printed them out (actually re sized them to B5 as I wanted a smaller pattern) directly onto cardstock (lightly hammered ivory card) and inked the edges with bright pink ink and Chestnut Whispers. The ribbon is from my stash, along with the heart brads. The slightly odd shaped square is a Cuttlebug 2inch die - concentric square and I've used the largest square from the cut each time.


The heart is the Sizzix Primitive Hearts die - the larger one I've cut from card with two smaller ones cut from vellum and fringed.

Quite simple cards and I like the simplicity of it all and the colours just work so well!

Give It Some Heart!

The dare this week on Daring Cardmakers is:

"...feel free to make a card fitting any theme you like as long as it has a heart somewhere on it. Stamped hearts, punched hearts, diecut hearts, heart embellishments, cut from patterned paper, whatever, whenever as long as it has the right shape."

I did cheat a little (yes I will own up!) as I originally started making the tag for the Tag You're It Challenge last week but ran out of time and forgot to photograph it. So I finished it off and added it to a card.

The backing papers and little heart tag are freebie papers from Papercraft Inspirations (you can download them from their website as the actual papers themselves are not the best quality). I've doodled a white line around the edges of the tag, and dots around the edge of the heart, added some ribbon and a pearl brad to the heart.

And its going in my Valentine Card box in preparation for nursery next week!

Cuttlebug Challenge - Simple White Card

I've not managed a Cuttlebug challenge for a while, but as this one was nice and easy and I knew exactly what I was going to do, I thought I'd give it a go!

The challenge this week is to create a simple white card.


I've used the D'vine embossing folder directly onto my card stock (slightly trimmed down to fit in my Sizzix red machine!) and I left the non-embossed areas as I thought it added a bit of something... The three flowers have been cut from some very lovely mulberry coloured tissue which has gold thread running through it - this was left over from some Wedding embellishments I made a while ago. And I've used my very new Cuttlebug flowers die (bought from ebay - Nova Crafts - for an absolute steal of £8.99!) so you'll be seeing a lot more of these flowers!

Pearl brads attach the flowers to the card. I was going to add a sentiment but decided against it - my handwriting isn't the best for a card and this particular occasion and I thought that the simpleness of it all was enough. Bit like me eh?!

2 Sketches 4 U - Earthy Tilda

The 2 Sketches 4 U challenge this week was quite a joy to work with!

I resisted the temptation to make a Christmas Card and thought I'd better start using up some of the images I've had stamped for me - this Tilda came from Allison (thank you!)



The backing papers are from a download, and I'm not sure from where (sorry!) I've used watercolour pencils to colour in Tilda and I'd already decided which backing papers to use so I tried keep to the colour scheme. I quite enjoyed myself colouring the image in! Her wings have been glittered with gold. Ribbon and brads from my stash. The dome sentiment sticker was sent to me with my recent Camper Van Diva swop (along with loads of other useful bits) from Alex and I've been wanting to use it for ages!

Oh Christmas Tree! You Are So Fluffy!

The Tag You're It Challenge for the week is:

... to incorporate a Christmas tree somewhere onto your tag.

Any interpretation you like - it could be a bog standard Christmas tree or you could think outside the box and create something new, traditional or modern, the choice is yours.

Right, so this is a bog standard Christmas tree but I've fluffed it up with some funky wool (guess where from?!) by wrapping it round the die cut shape. It's all attached to a metallic tag which was in the sale at Matalan along with other sizes and colours. The grossgrain ribbon on the base of the tree is the same as the top, and I've added two gold star brads to complete it.

Although you can't see it, where I have cut the ribbon, it has been edged with gold glitter glue. Mainly to stop it from fraying.

Pinkie Pops Sketch - Funky Fairy Challenge 37

The Funky Fairy challenge this week is a sketch:

This is quite a straight forward card! I've used Pinkie Pops papers throughout; one of the backing squares has been attached, upon which I've layered two flowers. All the flowers have been secured with black brads. The ribbon is from my stash (the black was 10p from Blackburn market, and the pink from around some card blanks!)

A Very Pretty Friday Sketchers - Challenge 21!

And another challenge! This time it is the Friday Sketchers Challenge 21 which is:

I've not used my watercolours this time - instead it is the turn of the watercolour pencils! I wanted to use the flowers (Prima Esprit) which I got as part of a subscription offer to Papercraft Inspirations so decided to base the colours around those. The backing paper is Dovecraft Amethyst 6x6 which I bought ages ago (probably because it was on special offer at £1.99) but have not really used, but the layout of the sketch made me have another look and I think the pattern lent itself well. The green block is some old posh writing paper that I've had since I was 15 (so yeah, quite old!) and the pink is vellum.

All edges including sentiment have been inked in pink. The sentiment is another bargain Studio G clear stamp from a girly pack.

Cute Card Thursday - Food!

I had a rifle through all my stamped images for food images and I only found one! So, had to use it (thanks Jozza for the image!) The Cute Card Thursday challenge is:

This week we would like to see some food on your card

The backing paper was from my blog candy win a while ago from Jozza so not got a clue what it is! And the Penny Black image was from the same package. The image has been watercoloured and the icing has been covered in silver glitter paint. The three square brads were also in the package from Jozza, but the grosgrain ribbons are all mine!!! They are Dovecraft - 99p rolls.

So really, the card is all down to Jozza's generosity - thanks!

DMC Challenge - Getting Funky!

The DCM Challenge this week is the following sketch and it is sponsored by Funky Hand too!

So what better excuse than to use Funky Hand paper!

So here is my take on the sketch:

I've used the Paper Blossoms download - I'd already printed the papers off a while ago with good intentions to use them, but never did! The background has been printed onto vellum and then layered onto the card black. And I do like stripes!! So the two flowers (already printed on the toppers set) were used - the background one has got 'congratulations' written on it. I made the flower from the lovely chocolate brown satin ribbon by cutting small sections, looping them and then sticking with glue dots to the card. A silver daisy brad hides the ends of the ribbon.

The edges of the card and layers have all been inked using fuchsia pink and black.

Stamp Something Challenge - Birthday & I've Gone Minty!!

The making of this card for the Stamp Something Challenge coincided with a brand new download from Funky Hand called Minty Madness!! And as minty chocolate (especially mint creme eggs, which, incidentally, they do not make any more grrrr) is my favourite (close second are root beer jelly beans) then you can start to understand how pleased I was to try out the papers!

Onto the challenge, which is:

Birthday somethings.

You are to create something that could be given for a birthday(card, invitation, present, etc), something that would be seen at a birthday(party favor, centerpiece, cake...) or something that reminds you of birthdays in general.

Now this could be for a Birthday Party invite (beach party!) or for a Birthday Card. Personally, I like the idea of a Beach Party invite!

I've used the new Funky Hand Minty Madness downloaded papers (you will be seeing more of these this week!) which have been highlighted with black ink. Eyelets (perfect colour match) from the stash Kath sent me and the ribbon (again another perfect match although the camera has lied a little) and daisy brad from my stash. The stamped daisy is to represent a tattoo and the necklace detail adds a bit of bling!

And yes, the card has a behind!
