Pink Winter Birthday

The Lexi's Creations challenge is:

Pink Winter Birthday

So, in my quest to use up all the scraps in my overflowing shoe box (and its a big box as my husband takes size 13!) I managed to find these offcuts which I am sure are from a Funky Hand cd (or maybe two!) The image is from Simple Doodles and I've coloured it with Promarkers. I chopped the loopy bits off the top of the image and added some random bits of black and hot pink ribbon instead to make it more tactile.

The spotty organza ribbon across the centre was a perfect size for the card! I didn't have any more and it was a shame to waste so it had to be used!

I've used a sheet of acetate as the card base which was another light bulb moment - two in one week!!

Sister

This is the final wordbook that I have been asked to make and it fits with the Lexi's Creations Challenge which is:

Layers

I've used papers from Funky Daze from Funky Hand and I've made the letters using word art and then layered them onto the card.

To hold the layers together, I've used 5 silver jump rings as I was becoming limited for space otherwise the card would not have fitted into the envelope! Scraps of ribbon have been used to tie around the jump rings and I've added three dragonfly brads that I have had for years and not really used, but the colours were a perfect match!

The smaller flower is a Prima one which I have coloured with Promarkers and it is layered onto a random one I found in my stash. Added seed beads to some of the letters plus I made the hat pin.

These word books are really easy to make even if you decide to make them from scratch!

Monster Birthday

A quick and simple card for Lexi's Challenge current challenge which is:

One For The Boys - Blue and Green

The monster is a 3d sticker from a pack that I bought from the pound shop ages ago. It's been layered onto a scrap of blue card and then added to blue and green printed digi papers from Back To Nature from Polkadoodles.

I've rounded some edges, inked them and then doodled a line around plus I've hand written the sentiment (as you can tell - I was surprised I got it central!) The buttons are from my stash.

I've got loads of these monster stickers and I like the layout of this, so probably will get to use them more often now!

Baby Boy

This cute baby boy card was made especially for Amanda and her little (at 9lb 10oz!) arrival just before the start of the New Year! It also fits the current Lexi's Creations Challenge which is:

Pastel Colours

And although the photo makes the card look a bit radioactive, it really is pastel colours! I've used papers from Polkadoodles Candy Doodles cd with a Martha Stewart border punch, organza ribbon from my stash and I've made the little hat pin.

The little baby in a pram stamp is from Woodware and was a generous de-stashing donation from Lynsey (thank you!). I've coloured it with watercolour paints and then pencil over the top with a bit of Liquid Pearls.

I'd like to say thank you to Lexi as I was the winner of the second challenge and won a Joanna Sheen gift voucher - Lexi went the extra mile to make sure everything was ok - thank you so much for your kindness and I'll have fun choosing what to use the voucher on!

Congratulations Amanda, and the card is in the post to you!

Purple, Ribbon and Bling

Now this was a nice quick and easy card to make! I made it for the current Lexi's Creations challenge which is:

Purple, Ribbon and Bling

I was so pleased to have won the last challenge and I'm hoping that lightening strikes twice! Thank you to the DT for choosing me!!

The backing paper was a free digi download from A Work In Progress but it has been retired and I can't remember which collection it is from either as I printed it a while ago and left it in my bits box. The ribbon, gems, flowers and button are all from my stash and I liked that the orange flower added a splash of colour!

Shaping Up

For some reason I managed to miss the first challenge over on Lexi's Challenges. Time is never plentiful on occasion!

Anyway, I was quite pleased with myself when I noticed the current challenge which is:

Shaped Cards

As I'd just completed making this for Nikky's appearance on Create and Craft this coming Thursday at 2pm where she will be showcasing her very brand new cd - Back To Nature. And here are some of the elements from the cd!

This is the first time I've made a shaped card like this and it only came about because of the images yelled at me to make them into this shape!

The little scene has been cut out along with the trees and little alphies and added to the background with 3d foam pads. And that is it! A fairly quick card to make (once I'd sorted out the folds and measurements!) and the new cd is fantastic - you really need to see the animals on it they are hilarious!!

Don't be surprised if you see more of these little houses on future new house cards as they are so sweet and detailed!
