Paint Can and Paint Roller

A nice quick and easy new home card made using Paint Can and Paint Roller images from Dr Digi.  Both have been coloured with Promarkers and a little bit of white highlighter on the paint.  I've added the images to foam pads for a bit of depth and then scored a border around the edge of the card blank.

Daring Card Makers Challenge - 6 or 7 S's

It's time for a new Daring Cardmakers challenge and the theme this week is

At least 6 or 7 S's!

I've made a work colleague a new home card as she recently moved into her own home!  Papers are from my stash and I've used a really lovely Tiddly Inks image, coloured with Promarkers.  And my S's are:

String, Stickles (on bubbles from heart), Shrubs, Steps, Stool, Shutters, Sentiment

The sentiment has been cut with a Cut and Create die from The Range.  She loved the card!  Good luck with the challenge!

Moooved

I've got all my Christmas card orders completed and delivered so thought it was about time I had a play with some images I printed some time ago but never had the time.  I've used the AKV Got Milk?  digi but omitted the question mark and text as I wanted to use it as a new home image, hence the sentiment I hand wrote.

I've used some freebie magazine papers from my stash, hence the pattern going different ways as the piece wasn't big enough as it was.  I flipped the sketch that I followed and added off-cuts of foam for the detail for something a bit different.  Image has been coloured with Promarkers and I used a die from my stash to cut it out.

I'd like to enter the following:

New Home

I've made a quick card using a Bugaboo image - AKV House and coloured it with Promarkers.  I cut a frame from another sheet of card and added the image within it and then layered that onto the card black with foam pads so it stood out a little.

The button, key charm and embroidery thread are from my stash and the sentiment has been cut twice and is from Crafters Companion.

I'd like to enter the following:

Mooved?!

I always need new house cards and what better image to use than this from Bugaboo - AKV Cow Got Milk.  I cropped the image without the question mark and the sentiment as I wanted to add my own.  I made the sign with an off cut of kraft card and I handwrote it.

The grass and cloud are die cuts from my stash, I've coloured the image with Promarkers and added three chunky half pearls to finish.  The papers are from my stash.

Sweet New Home

I've been asked to make a few new home cards recently so I treated myself to a Lili of the Valley Simply Print Sheet - Mouse Key.  So this is one of three cards I made with the image!  I added the sentiment myself with Pic Monkey and one of the free fonts from it.

I've used some cream card from my stash and printed the image onto it plus used it also for the card blank.  Chocolate brown card from my stash along with the half pearls, twine and two key charms.

Forgotten Funkies - Steam Funk

It's the last Friday of the month so its time for the Funky Hand Design Team to showcase a blast from the past and this month its the turn of the Steam Funk download.

There are lots of papers plus an alphabet and digi stamps and the papers work so well with Kraft card - as I've used on my card!

I've printed directly onto kraft cardstock and then layered the papers plus made a little house from scraps. The sentiment is handwritten and all the other embellishments are from my stash - the little heart pearls I've had for an absolute age and the cute bronze keys are a recent ebay purchase! A great versitile download - if you want to see more, just pop over to Get Funky and have a look at the rest of the Design Teams creations!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Polkadoodle Challenge - Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme for the fortnight is - Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

I've interpreted the theme as starting new and fresh and have used some of the fabulous Studio 12 stamps - Dreamy Trees, House of Hearts, House of Possibility and Sunshine House. Coloured with Promarkers and then popped onto the ribbed card with foam pads and I've added some cute little key charms and a handwritten sign.

The string I've recycled from a parcel and I've added some glossy accents to the centre so it doesn't come undone.

Good luck with the challenge!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 55

It's time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge!  And here is the sketch:

We're sponsored by My Creative Classroom who are offering the lucky winner of the challenge a seat in one of their online classes!  To find out more about My Creative Classroom, just click on the banner below:

And here is my take on the sketch using papers from Retro Fun wordbook from Funky Hand(there are A4 papers with the collection!) along with the Doodleword New Home digi stamp also from Funky Hand that I've printed directly onto kraft card stock and made the little house shape myself.

I've used a Sizzix die for the grass and a fab Spellbinders Shapeabilities tree die which I've cut from kraft card stock too.  I've added a wooden heart button and some twine and the three brads are not actually brads but black sharpie dots with liquid pearls over the top!

Good luck with the Fetch A Sketch challenge - for more details, pop over to the blog!

Polkadodle Challenge 16 - New Home

It's a busy Friday again!  The Simply Create Too challenge post is below and coming soon will be the Jellypark challenge post!  But for now its Polkadoodles and the new challenge theme is:

New Home

I've made a posh bottle tag for a change and used papers from Polkadoodles (I don't know which cd they are from but I found them in my Polkadoodle pile of scraps!)  I've used my fancy X Cut dies to make the shapes and added a dotted line around the edge with a black fineliner pen.

The tree and birdie image are from Sugar Birdies and I printed the sheet almost 4 years ago when I made samples for its launch!  I decoupaged the birdies and the tree and added stickles here and there.  I handwrote the sentiment with a Sizzix tag and the ribbons are generous donations from my cousin Claire and were left over from when she made her Wedding stationery!

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

This Old House

A great theme this week on Tiddly Inks:

Stitching

Now I really did think I'd do this with my little sewing machine, but I've had a tidy up and can't quite remember where I put it. So all that you see on this card is faux - I've used a fine black pen for the dots and then just joined them up.

The brown paper was a Primark carrier bag as I popped in yesterday (got a girly summer top for me, two pairs of shorts for Samuel and a fab bargain sweatshirt top / jacket for £2!) and I screwed it up, flattened it out and did the faux stitching bit.

I've added some jute twine from the kitchen drawer and a charm I found in my stash - not got a clue where it came from! Oh, and the image has been coloured with Promarkers and then added to the card with foam pads. Simple!

The weather is beautiful - we've had a trip to Martin Mere (went on the new canoe safari!) and then onto Southport but the boys are slowly working their way through all the Easter Eggs! Pictures from the canoe safari to follow later! And no, we didn't fall in!

Bird House

Inktegrity has launched a brand new challenge and their first ever is this sketch:

I've used the image from the 50/50 Stampers Group which was pre-coloured. I printed it three times and layered it up. All the backing papers are from my stash with the printed one under the image from It's Funky Too from Funky Hand.

The ribbon is from the Scrap Store and as I have plenty of it I was generous with the bow!

New Home!

The challenge for January for The Craft Garden is

New

So, using the brand new cd from Funky Hand - did you see it's launch earlier today on Create and Craft? If you didn't you missed a great show from Anice and you will have seen this new shoe / new home creation of mine! Don't worry if you missed the show - she is on again next week with details in my sidebar!

I've used the brand new Funky Hand cd Dreams Come True. All the paperbased elements are from the cd including this funky boot which is a digi stamp that can be resized as big as A4 with no image quality loss!
I've used various papers from one of the collections (there are 12 colour collections) and paper pieced the front image along with some chalking to give it definition.

I've used photos of Funky Hand's new offices before they moved into it in early January as it was an old mill before.

Each page swivels out so you can view the front and back and I've used two buttons and some thin brown organza ribbon to hold it all together.

The colour collections, as you would expect are fantastic and along with the word books - you can actually select which letter and colour you want on the paper rather than being stuck with just the one option, plus all the alphabet, numbers and other characters and over 30 digi images that you can resize, overlap and move around the page before printing!

So I recommend you popping over to Funky Hand to buy it before all the stock is gone!
I thought this boot would fit the Craft Garden challenge perfectly, because it is not just a new cd, but it is for a new office!

Lili Boo Too - September Download & Recipe Challenge

There is a new challenge blog! Lily-Boo Too Challenges - they are monthly and this is their first one! There is an image to download for the challenge which is also a recipe to use:

Two ribbons, 3 flowers and 4 brads

And here is my card! I've coloured the image with watercolour pencils, layered it twice onto some co-ordinating cardstock that I found in my stash and added the 4 brads to each of the corners.

The orange ribbon you may have seen before here (waste not want not!) and the red grosgrain is from my stash. The three mulberry paper sunflowers I've had for years and they worked better than any of the flowers I could find!

Apologies for the dark photos - it just seems to be dark all the time!
