Surfin' Santa

Not quite your usual image of Santa but here he is with his surfboard!  Surfin' Santa is available from Dr Digi and I've coloured him with Promarkers plus used papers from Dovecraft Let It Snow 4.5 x 6.5 stack - red card, ribbon, half pearls and charm are all from my stash.

And to finish off I've added a faux running stitch around the edge of the card and the layers.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 60 - Cute

I'm a little late with this today - I thought it was Wednesday today - its been one of those weeks and seems to be happening more often now that I've moved offices and have a 3 hour per day commute. Anyway, the new Crimbo Crackers challenge theme is Cute, so here is some Jellypark sponsored cuteness!

I've used a cute digi image from Jellypark who is the challenge sponsor - Skating Polar Bears and coloured it with Promarkers. Papers are Let It Snow and I've added stickles, handwritten tag sentiment along with organza ribbon, embroidery thread and a snowflake charm.

Jellypark Challenge - Old and New

It's time for another Jellypark challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Old and New 

You need to be clear on your entry what is old and what is new!  I've used the fab Couple Kissing Under Mistletoe digi stamp and coloured them with Promarkers, cut out and then added to the card base with foam pads.

I've used papers from Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 pad, glittered the edge and added a vellum circle.  All the ribbons are from my stash.

My something new was because the card was for one of my cousins who was spending his first Christmas with his girlfriend in their own house and I've added a little handwritten tag which is partly hidden with all the ribbon, but it says To You Both!  And the something old is the papers (at least 2 Christmasses old and the blue satin edged organza ribbon is around 6 years old!) Oh, and I've added some tiny half pearls for the mistletoe.

Under The Mistletoe

I'm nearing the end of completing a long list of Christmas cards and here is one that I can tick off that list!  The image is from Emma Canning - Mistletoe Moment - and I've coloured it with Promarkers and the cut out the two people so that they would fit the oval background a little better.

I've used papers from my rather bargain 12x12 Let It Snow pad (I do like these papers!) and added stickles to the sides of the card and also around the oval.  The oval has been cut from vellum and then embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.

The two background panels are X Cut dies.  I found the sentiment in my stash and have inked it slightly to match the colour theme.  I've also added soem stickles to the fur on the dress and boots and a tiny half pearl to the holly in her hair.

After karting this morning we had a trip to Southport (namely Matalan and Dunelm) where I treated myself (and Jacob) to a pair of really fluffy and long welly socks for when we are stood in the sub zero temps watching Samuel karting (if Jacob fancies wearing mine then he can as his feet are nearly the same size as mine and he is only 7!!) and a cook pot from Dunelm as our largest and oldest pan disintegrated when I washed it the other day!  We've had it for nearly 20 years, so I didn't think it was too bad to throw it out!

Winter Skating

As soon as I saw this image from Jellypark I knew what paper to use! This Skating Boy and Tag is one of the new releases this week and he is just fab to colour! I've used Aquamarkers for colouring plus a little glitter glue and he's been cut out (look - no white border!) to look like he's actually skating on the paper design!


The paper is actually quite glittery and so is the snowman - the photo just does not show it at all well. I've cut the tag out which comes with the image and tied some embroidery thread through it which actually looks a bit like a pom pom on a hat......!

I've distressed the edges of the paper with some scissors as it didn't quite look right just stuck onto a card blank.

The other new release will be blogged later on - I was fully intending to do them yesterday but I spent all day at a Craft Fair and was shattered when I got home after standing for 4 hours - I am now aching!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 2 - Make It Sparkle

Time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and a big thank you for all the entries for my very first challenge - all 233 of them!! This one again is a nice and simple theme:

I've used the cute new release image, coloured her with Promarkers and glitter glue and used papers from Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 stack and added glitter glue around the edges. There is a lot of glitter - the photo just does not show it too well!


The snowflake is a Sizzix die cut and I've used glitter card (which I'm still finding sparkles all over the place!) And its finished off with a star gem.

Star and Snowflakes

Yep, its another Christmas card - my total is looking pretty impressive now and the end is in sight!

I've used a star shaped template that I've had for some time and can't remember where it came from - I suspect a magazine but cannot be too sure.


The papers are Let It Snow 12x12 stack from Dovecraft and I've glittered the edges. Snowflakes are a Sizzix die and I've used papers from the same stack along with some very glittery centres that I bought from Dunelm last week (49p reduced from £1.99!!)

I'm thinking that it needs a sentiment somewhere but I don't know where or what to put so it will stay like this until I've made my mind up!

Jellypark - Challenge 1 & Freebie!

The day is finally here! The very first Jellypark challenge and what a fab challenge we have for you! You need to pop over to the challenge blog to snag the very cute snowman that Claire has designed and to enter the challenge! You don't need to use the snowman to enter the challenge, but it's so cute - how can you resist?!

I've used him (he is a him - for this card at least!) on my card which I think looks a bit like a giant snowball! He's been coloured with Promarkers and added to the card with foam pads. All the papers are from Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 paper stack and I've dotted the edges with liquid pearls (becoming a bit of an obsession!)


I've added some wonderfully co-ordinated shiny parcel ribbon (bought from the Poundshop last year) to hide the paper joins, added some very fluffy (and gets everywhere!) silver stringy stuff and attached it with brads. I wasn't going to attempt glue as it would get messy and I've not got the patience for it to dry! To finish, I've added two silver confetti snowflakes.

Circle Card

Just when you thought it was safe - I make another Christmas card! This time I'm following a rather lovely sketch from The Sweet Stop. I've used Dovecraft Let It Snow papers both 12x12 and 6.5x4.5 sizes. The sentiment is from a 99p Studio G acrylic set.


The snowman is a digi image from Zlatoena Designs and he's been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue. I've added some ribbon where the different papers meet and also to hide the rather messy and nasty glue from trying to stick the icicles to the card - yeah, they look great but are a right bu**er to glue! That will be why they are actually for decorative purposes and not cardmaking! The tinsel that came off the icicles has also been added to the card.

A bit of inking, faux running stitch and liquid pearls and the card is complete!

Christmas Decorations

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms as it is a week or two since I entered a Christmas challenge, plus I bought some fantastic bargains in the sales - all of which feature on this card! There is a great simple but strangely complicated (because it has to work just right!) sketch on Jingle Belles Rock this week.

I've used papers from the Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 stack and no, I cut into the sheet fine! I normally cannot bring myself to cut a part from such a large sheet but this time, I was ok! I bought the pad half price - £7.50 from Boundary Mill in the sales. Plus the 6x4 version too! This sheet is glittered although my very bad and blurred photo does not do the paper justice.

I've used two Christmas tree decorations too, which, yes you've guessed, I bought in the sales! The bottom one came in as part of a pack of 8 - 2 of each colour in equally vibrant pink, green and yellow from Sainsbury's. The top star with gem was from Matalan. And I am now quite sparkly myself!

The gem taken from the underside of the silver star has been added along with a few other gems to the top left of the cad. Waste not want not!

Ah, and here is the sketch!I think I'll be using this sketch again as I'm now in the mood for more Christmas cards! It won't last long, so don't worry!

Merry Little Christmas

I feel like I'm doing really well in being prepared for Christmas this year. Although don't know how long that feeling will last once the weather warms up (if it ever does!)

Jingle Belles Rock has a theme of:

With the emphasis being on little. As I've done pretty well (even if I say it myself!) in the January sales so I've used two of my purchases to make these little 9cm square cards. Both sets use papers from Dovecrafts Let It Snow 4.5 x 6.5 glitter double sided paper stack (bargain at £2.99 in the Range!)

I've used my Nesties to cut the shapes - the largest one for the bottom half shape and then the smallest two to layer the embellishments on. The little sparkly gifts and snowflakes are from three packs of Christmas embellishments for 29p each from Hobbycraft - I've simply changed the colour of the gem in the centre of the green themed cards to a green gem and then added a gem to the top of each of the gifts.

The turquoise ribbon is Tempting Turquoise from Stampin Up and the green I think is Dovecraft and it was in my stash.

Although you can't see it properly (rubbish photos but I blame not having enough daylight!) the blue papers are sparkly and all the gifts are too! Very pretty!
