Tea at Thirty

A card made for a work colleague who turned 30 and enjoys his cups of tea!  Made using papers and image from the Tea Time set from Dr Digi.  I've used my own number templates and added a faux running stitch with a black fine liner pen around the edges of the numbers.

The cuppa has been coloured with Promarkers and added with foam pads for depth.

Prezzie

A quick Christmas card rustled up with the help from Dr Digi and the fab Prezzie digi.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added a sentiment that is personal to the recipient.

I've added it to a star shaped card - green card from my stash and I've added a faux running stitch around the edge.

Pretty simple really!  Don't know why I've not thought of this combination before!

Big Forty

Here is a Birthday card made using my own template numbers which has been edged with glitter glue and liquid pearl dots.  The papers are from Dr Digi - Curves and Corners.

I've added bunting with offcuts of the papers that have been layered with vellum.  I've hand written the letters and added half pearls to the corners (plus it hid the glue underneath!)

Mini Cooper

Great Mini Cooper digi from Dr Digi - printed off small and coloured with Promarkers and made to look like a road for a 4 year old!

I've used black card and then added dashes of liquid pearls for the road markings and handwrote the Sizzix balloon sentiment, attached it to one of the cards with wire.

Quite quick and easy to make!

Here's a shaped Birthday card made with Dr Digi Invader Dots papers along with one of the Techy Sentiment Sheet 01 and the image is High Score Hugh - all from Dr Digi.  Image and sentiment coloured with Promarkers.

Pink Carriage

I'm not normally a pink or girly person, but when I saw this A Day For Daisies digi, I knew I could go all pink and girly to the extreme! This is the Fit for a Princess digi which I've printed directly onto my cardstock and then coloured with Promarkers and a fair amount of glitter glue!

I was sort of aware of A Day For Daisies but had never really looked properly at the stamps until I won a gift certificate on The Crafters Cafe over Christmas and then I had a rather difficult time choosing my images!! Tammy (the artist) is a pleasure to deal with and was so helpful! Thank you!!

The ribbon is from my stash and I've used a bow maker so I could get the three loops identical lengths. Best £2 I ever spent on ebay!

The card does actually stand up but I was in a rush to take the photo! And yes, that is a bit of sun you can see - nice and sunny today but dammed cold - I stayed in all day and politely declined the offer to do the school run this afternoon!!

I've used the brand new cd Pretty Tuff which is available for pre order right now! All the footballs are on the cd - I've simply enlarged them and then cut them out. The footballer has been coloured with Promarkers and he's been added with foam pads for extra depth.

Star and Snowflakes

Yep, its another Christmas card - my total is looking pretty impressive now and the end is in sight!

I've used a star shaped template that I've had for some time and can't remember where it came from - I suspect a magazine but cannot be too sure.


The papers are Let It Snow 12x12 stack from Dovecraft and I've glittered the edges. Snowflakes are a Sizzix die and I've used papers from the same stack along with some very glittery centres that I bought from Dunelm last week (49p reduced from £1.99!!)

I'm thinking that it needs a sentiment somewhere but I don't know where or what to put so it will stay like this until I've made my mind up!

Polkadoodle Challenge 1 - A Wish for the New Year!

Welcome to the first Polkadoodle challenge of 2011! Emma has set the challenge this week and it is:

A Wish for the New Year!

This can be interpreted however you wish, but remember to follow the theme and not to enter your creation into more than 10 challenges including Polkadoodles otherwise you won't be eligible for a top three placing. The challenge runs until Sunday 16 January at 12noon GMT.

I've used the cupcake template from the brand new CD which is Paper Boutique volume 3 and will be released tomorrow live at 12noon and 3pm on Sky channel 671. This cupcake is made up of layers, a bit like decoupage, but you can layer it up as much as you want and have the freedom to make it how you want too!

There is also a pink version but I've gone for the lime green A5 pre-coloured version (sizes are A6, A5 and A4 in black and white for you to colour or paper piece yourself or pre-coloured versions). The ribbon bow at the top actually closes my cupcake so the concertina fold is at the base of the cupcake.

A bit of glitter glue here and there and a handwritten sentiment and its good to go! And almost as good to eat! There are lots of shaped cards or templates on the cd - Spaceman, Rocket, Robot, Bathing Hippo, Truck, Flowers - lots and lots and all a lot of fun and really easy to make!

Bright & Breezy In July

I didn't dare scare you with a Christmas related title (although I was very tempted to!) but I am trying to get going on my Christmas cards as I have a house party and a few craft fairs booked between the end of September and early December and I don't want to not have enough stock!

Anyway, the Fussy and Fancy challenge is:

Christmas In July

This card is one I made as a Create and Craft TV show sample when Nikky launched Paper Boutique Vol 2 which is chock full of Christmas card templates and papers and digi stamps. This particular card should actually be double sided but I made it single sided but layered up all the elements. It's not quite decoupage as you know it, more random decoupage as all the elements are individual and you build them up either by instructions or (like me) how you like.



I printed it all onto 300gsm smooth white card and simply cut it out. Added a little glitter glue and that was it! The backing paper is also from the cd.

There are some lovely sweet templates on the cd to make cards and some great ones for kiddies. So guess what I have a pile of to cut out?!!

Get Funky Challenge 9 - Shape It

It's the first of the month so it's a new Get Funky Challenge! This month the lovely Enfys is hosting the challenge and she has given us the theme of:

Shape It

So basically anything but a square or rectangle card! I've made a cheeky double sided bikini card using one of my own templates.

I've used papers from the Retro Fun download which I've inked the edges and doodled a dotted line around the edge of the bikini top and bottoms.

The flower has been cut from the same paper collection and I've used my Cuttlebug dies for it. The organza ribbon started life as a hair band with the little flower gems on the end. So it's now been cut up and reused!

The eyelets are from my stash and I'm sure that Kath sent them to me ages ago!! Perfect match too!

Ahoy!

The current challenge for Die Cut Dreams is:

No Flowers Allowed

And there is absolutely no flowers what so ever on my card! I was actually making something quite different for the challenge when I happened to pop by CraftsUPrint and a number of shaped card sheets jumped into my shopping basket!

This particular one was really easy to make and it is double sided. I've simply cut the shape out then layered some blue card behind the image and doodled a line around the edge. I've added a gold jump ring as an earring and also a chest of treasure and some gems. The head is decoupaged and has been added with foam pads.

Really simple! And if you want to buy the sheet to print yourself, it is only 80p and can be found HERE. And you'll see my sample card too!
