Fetch A Sketch - Challenge 6 & Midway Extra

Its time for another Fetch A Sketch Midway Extra! Jenny is the hostess this week and as a reminder the sketch is:

Jellypark is our sponsor and are offering a £5 gift certificate from the store. Over on the Fetch A Sketch challenge blog we are joined by Fliss our September Guest Designer and two members of the Jellypark Design Team - so pop over and see their creations using our sketch! Plus there is another prize on offer - pop over to the Fetch A Sketch blog to see what it is!

If you've not heard of Jellypark before then you are in for a treat! I'm lucky enough to be part of the design team and the images are wonderful to work with!

For my card I've used the Grandad Jellypark image, coloured him with Aquamarkers and layered onto patterned paper from Polkadoodles - Paper Boutique Vol 1. The plain papers are from my stash, the brads are also from my stash. I've inked the edges a little and doodled a line and that's it - great easy sketch to follow!

  • There is no limit to the number of challenges you can combine
  • Any products can be used
  • Please link back to Fetch A Sketch in your blog post
  • Please keep to the basic elements of the sketch
  • Closing date is Sunday 18 September at 12noon GMT
  • Good luck!
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss: Its a Man Thing
Card Makin' Mamas: Go Digi
Fairy Fun Friday's: Masculine

  • Patterned Papers: Polkadoodle Paper Boutique Vol 1
  • Other papers: My stash

The Wedding Card

One of my cousins got married yesterday and despite managing to make cards for other family members in plenty of time, I left the one from us to the last moment, hence the poor photos as I had to take them early yesterday morning before it was properly light!

I wanted to make a card that was a bit different so it sort of opened out like a church. All the papers are from Funky Hand - I Do wordbook download and I've added a faux stitch and also liquid pearls dotted around the edge. The card is held together with a big bow and the bunting across the front is continued inside.

The images are from Squidgi Digi (Lisa you have one talented daughter!) after I'd seen one of the images on Lisa's blog and KNEW they would be perfect for Jane and Phil's Wedding card as they are into their VW camper vans in a big way (wait until you see the Wedding photos!) I've used Promarkers, glossy accents and crystal stickles for colouring.

The congratulations sentiment stamp was a magazine freebie from ages ago and I've personalised the number plates!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Colour Create: Pink (it is there - just not a good photo!), Brown, Cream and White
Dutch Dare Challenges: Recipe: 1 ribbon, 2 images, 3 papers, 4 embellishments (I'm using the 4 bunting banners for this)
Paper Play: Two or more images
Crafty Creations: Anything But A Square
Simon Says Stamp: Multi fold cards
Truly Scrumptious: Decorate the inside of the card
  • Papers: I Do Wordbook download from Funky Hand
  • Images: Squidgi Digi
  • Everything else: My stash

Dressing Up

Here is the first of the two new digi stamp releases this fortnight from Jellypark. This one is called Dressing Up and I think it is such a wonderful image! I've coloured her with Promarkers and added just a little bit of cerise glitter glue to her necklace.

The papers are a recent win from Cupcake Craft Room (a lovely surprise!) and they fitted perfectly with the colours I had in mind! I've cut out a few of the flowers (printed at A5 size) and slightly curled the petals before layering.

I've used some embroidery thread I picked up from a rather quick visit to the Scrap Store - embroidery thread will be the new bakers twine - you heard it here first! The sentiment is computer generated, plus some doodling and the card is complete!

The second new release will be blogged over the weekend - got a busy weekend ahead so just bear with me!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Room: Pink and Green
Sunday Sketch and Stamp: Sketch followed
Stamp and Doodle: Anything Goes
Kelley Kid's Challenge: Girly Girl
For Fun Challenges: Kids at Play
  • Papers: Cupcake Craft Room
  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers
  • Sentiment: Computer generated

Jellypark Challenge 5 - Pass It On

It's time for another Jellypark challenge and we are up to number 5 already! The theme for this fortnight is

Pass It On

So something that you've made and have passed on to someone else - a Birthday card for instance. I've altered a rather plain notebook using the Little Girl and Balloon Jellypark digi stamp, coloured with Promarkers and glossy accents added on the balloon.

The papers are a digi kit bought from Jessica Sprague - Cosmo Cricket Togetherness. I've simply added some string from the kitchen drawer. The string and bow on the right of the cover was not supposed to be there but I'd splodged some glue so it had to be covered up!

The notebook will be a gift later on this month - so at least that's one item crossed off my list!

Today also sees two new release digi stamps from Jellypark - if you pop over to the challenge blog you'll see them and I'll be blogging mine over the weekend!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Purple Frog: Birthday's or Gifts
Cute Card Thursday: Something Use in an Office (notebook)
Do You Stack Up?: Texture (glossy accents and string)
For Fun Challenges: Kids at Play
Craft Room Challenge: Home Decor

  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers and glossy accents
  • Papers: Cosmo Cricket digi pack - Togetherness
  • String: Kitchen drawer

Polkadoodle Challenge 36 - Setting The Scene

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge and this week the theme has been set as:

Setting The Scene

I've used the fireplace template from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas, layered all the elements with foam pads and added some gold stickles to make the fire sparkle! I chopped the top part of the card off as I wanted just the fireplace. This is the A5 sized template - there are other sizes available.

Good luck with the challenge - its open until 12noon GMT Sunday 18 September.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz: Inspired by a Song (Roasting Chestnuts Over an Open Fire)
I Brake for Challenges: Background

  • All elements: Paper Boutique Vol 2

Birthday and Back To School!

It's back to school day in our house and it's also Jacob's 6th Birthday! How time flies! So here is a picture of the boys all ready for school this morning and Jacob insisted on wearing his two Birthday badges too!

Jacob has pulled his trousers down from his waist as they are a little short in the leg already even though they were long on him when I bought them!!

Wonder how long their shoes will stay that shiny for......!!

Craft Juice Tuesday - Week 81

Welcome to another Craft Juice Tuesday! This week its all about Steampunk! I've never tried to make anything in this theme and I think if I tried it I'd love it - its just taking that step!

Apologies for the delay for this post - got a lot going on today - more about that in a later post!!

For more information about each item, please click on the photo where you will be taken to Craft Juice for more detail.

See you next Tuesday for more!

Wedding

I'd been asked to make a Wedding card and what better image than to use this one from Lee Jacobs which I bought from here and to use the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for inspiration!

The image has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue on the glasses. Sentiment is computer generated and I've added embossed vellum (Cuttlebug D'vine swirls folder) panels behind the image.

I've used white grosgrain ribbon from my stash plus some very shiny silver card. Gems and prima flowers are from my stash.

Although you can't see it, I've added a silver gel pen dotted line around the image, sentiment and edge of the card.

I'd also like to enter the following challenges:

Quirky Crafts: Flourishes and Embossing
Designed 2 Delight: Wedding or Anniversary
Little Claire's Designs: Wedding or Anniversary
Rainbow Lady's Challenge: Embossing
