Easter Bunny & The Lamb

Each Easter and Christmas the Crafts Forum runs (well Karen does!) a Secret Easter Bunny / Santa Swop which is hugely entertaining and exciting!! And look what the Secret Easter Bunny from The Crafts Forum brought me! And look what it contained! Six notecards / everyday cards that I can use as I NEVER have anything like this that I've made - so no excuse now eh?! The prints are fantastic and I've not got a clue who my Secret Easter Bunny is either! Thank you Secret Easter Bunny!!

I'll share photos of what I sent later in the week!

And I also received this cutie from the very lovely Nikky!! Mrs Polkadoodle herself! I've had to put it out of little boys reach as I fear the little lamb would be missing a chunk or two!

Thorntons white chocolate eh??!! Yum yum!!

Thank you to Nikky and to my Secret Easter Bunny!

Sketch and Pink

This is the sketch over on the Sugar Bowl, with the added twist of using my favourite colour.

And I found this stamped image whilst sorting through my stash that Jozza sent me a while ago! I do have a Sugar Nellie stamp (thanks Nikky!) but I am ashamed to say that it hasn't seen ink yet!! I've coloured it with watercolour paints, cornered the edges and inked them with chestnut whispers ink.

I've used a freebie digi paper pack from The Creative Cottage so I have cheated a little with the challenge and used my (well one of) favourite papers!

The ribbon is also from my stash and I've added it to help balance the purple dress!

Charmed I'm Sure!

It's been a while again since I've entered a Dotties World challenge and because I found a number of charms in my stash, I thought this challenge would be perfect as it is:

Charmed I'm Sure!

I've used a pre coloured Dottie image (to save a bit of time as I think I've managed to loose some somewhere this week) and the colours from this particular collection from Funky Daze matched it perfectly!

The little charm was given to me by Nikky (fanks!) and goes really well with the image. You'll have to excuse the slightly out of focus charm in the picture below - but at least the organza ribbon is in focus eh?!

So there you go - a quick and easy card!

An Earthy Notebook

The Charisma Cardz challenge this week is a good one! And something that I always think, hmmm, I'll do that one day, but never do, but this time, I have!

The challenge is:

Alter It! (Not a card)
So I bought this little notebook from Tesco's (I didn't like the look of the ring bound ones and I wanted it a bit sturdy, plus the green spine fitted in with what I had in mind!) And then I covered it with brown packing paper!

I've used a Martha Stewart punch on the side and threaded jute string through the smaller holes (had to put some sellotape on the ends cos it kept fraying!) I forgot to take photos of the inside, but it is all neatly folded and square!

The scrap of lined paper is from a lovely little notebook I found (in Tesco's) ages ago and then I've layered some green card over the top, cornered the corners and inked it, and then added the image. This has also been cornered and inked and I've also chalked it too to give it a little bit of a weathered and earthy look. I platted the twine to pass through the top of the paper - again a bit more interest and I like tactile things!

And this is the back. Nice and plain! I've inked and chalked the edges too.

Can you see the little bits of glitter on the flower centres? The image is from a new cd due to be launched by Nikky on 21 July on Create and Craft - the cd is called Candy Doodles and it is just fab! Some nice surprises in it - my favourite has to be the decoupage cake!

Doodle Tweets for a Baby!

Now this may be a bit spooky as the Crafty Creations challenge this week is

Birds

And the prize sponsor this week is Nikky who made these papers!! Before you get all excited and head over to her shop to buy these, they are actually not released until 21 July where they will be launched on Create and Craft - sorry for being a tease! And funnily enough, you'll be able to see this gift box on that very show!

I've made a gift box for a new baby - ideal size to put some titchy socks in or a rattle. I've used an old chocolate gift box from Thorntons as the template - I had to join two sheets of card together due to the pattern placement but this was easy enough to do. The backing papers are from the Doodle Tweets collection, taken from the soon to be released Candy Doodles cd, as is the little birdie tag which I've cut out, added an eyelet and attached it to the bag with some lovely mint green organza ribbon.

The 'frill' around the bottom of the box is also on the cd - you could say it is paper ribbon, already scalloped. So I simply cut it out and added it to the base. I don't think the photos show the glittery flower centres, but they are!

I think I'll be making some more of these in the future as it was really easy and quick to make!

Polkadoodle Challenge 7 - Cherries!

Yeah - it's Friday! And that can only mean another Polkadoodle Challenge! We are upto week 7 and for this challenge the DT had to make an item using the Cherry collection on the Sugar Birdies cd but to have a hidden element....

Pop over to the blog to see who won last week's challenge and to drool over the DT cherry samples - this week your challenge is to make a fruity card with a hidden element!

So here is what I came up with - based upon the idea of a one-armed bandit - you pull the lever at the side and the winning line comes up in the centre....

The green spotty backing paper is also from the cd - in fact all paper based elements on my card are! I've inked all the edges with my trusty black faded inkpad. But I gave it a new lease of life by dripping a few drops of coca cola on it and its really got its umpf back - much better than water! I used my fingers for the moveable elements and yes, those are my fingerprints!

The little alphas are also on the cd and I've printed the sheet off so that there are 4 sets on a sheet of A4 card and the little cherry has been cut from a backing sheet from the collection.

Each cherry swings open to reveal what is underneath...

And its a cupcake! I've glitter glued all the cherries and the cupcake icing.

And finally, did you see Nikky on telly?! You did? She was really good wasn't she?! The show is being repeated over the weekend, so if you missed her, its Sky 671 or you can watch online via the Ideal World / Create and Craft website.
