You Don't Want To Mess With These Two....

The boys had an Aspire Martial Arts competition yesterday in aid of Comic Relief, and here are some photos from it! This is Jacob (red head gear and brown stripe belt) sparring - look how high he can kick! This was the play-off for third place ..... And he won!

Next up was Samuel competing in a different category (Jacob was in the under 6's although he was the same size as over 6's and he's only 5!) The first picture is from his first fight, which he won. Samuel has red head gear and red stripe belt.

And this one is for the play off for first or second place - wearing black head gear this time.

Which he won! He was so pleased!

Jacob also got a certificate and medal for participating in the Hand Drill section where he came 4th. To be honest, I think he was more bothered about getting medals!

Needless to say, they both slept well last night!

Karate Christmas

This will be my very last Christmas card for 2010! The boys asked me (nothing like last minute!) to make a card for their Martial Arts instructor, so not wanting to disapoint, here it is!

I've used the Friday Sketchers sketch as inspiration:


Papers are from Papermania strips Ho Ho Ho collection (the long thin strip pack) and I've layered them onto some red card from my stash. I've used Sizzix original dies to make the little person complete with karate kit and black belt, and to show he's festive, a Santa hat!

Samuel wrote the sentiment in his smallest handwriting and I've added the red ribbon from my stash. Lets hope he likes it!

My Karate Kids

Here are the boys with their medals after competing on Sunday in the Aspire Martial Arts Winter Champions Competition. Both boys were knocked out in the early stages to the eventual winners - Jacob competed in both hand drills and sparring rounds, with Samuel in just sparring. Hence why Jacob has two medals!

They did really well despite some very fierce and tough competitors.
