This is the second part of the retirement card I made for a work colleague - the pages are 8x8 and held together with ribbon - easier to take the photos before I constructed it! I've used Bloomin' 70's papers for the wallpaper and Salon Deirdrey without the pooch. All from Dr Digi.
Coloured as always with Promarkers and I've used Sizzix Roundabout and Girls are Weird dies for the lettering. Floorboards made from the reverse of a Graze box (really lovely card!)
Join me next week for the third page!

Dogs and Paw Prints
I was having a sort through all the digi images I've printed over the last few years that are still waiting to be coloured and I came across this one from Jellypark - its no longer available but its still a cute image! I found perfect matching papers in my stash too - Funky Hand - Funky Daze cd - and they are off-cuts from making a word book but were just right for what I needed.
The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used Spellbinder dies for the circle and frame - the sentiment is also from Jellypark. Ribbons from my stash and the heart charm is from a Poundshop charm bracelet I bought some time ago especially to add to cards.
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday: Sketch followed
Critters and Creatures: Anything Goes with Critters and Creatures
Make My Monday: Circles

From The Heart Stamps Sketch 145
There is a new challenge over at From The Heart Stamps and its a sketch with a twist! I've used Birthday Suit Birdbrain and coloured it with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue. The spotty paper is from my stash (I have a large shoe box that all off-cuts goes into so half the time I've not got a clue what it is!
The sentiment is part of the set and I've added some half pearls to finish. The sketch is below:
Don't forget - you can either follow the sketch or the twist, or both but you must use a FTHS in your creation - good luck!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 103 - Cute Kids
Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:
I've used a decoupage sheet from La Pashe - Tinsel Tots that I've had for quite some time and the kit is retired which is a shame because I do like them! I've cut out all the elements and layered them up with foam pads.
Papers I found in my stash and I added the ribbon, half pearls and wooden snowflake to finish it off - also from my stash. Good luck with the challenge!
I'd like to enter the following:
Winter Wonderland: Penguins
Sketch Saturday: Sketch followed
ABC Christmas Challenge: F for Frills

Ditch the Work Suits
Dr Digi are now over on Facebook so come over and join us! I'm showing a page from a special retirement card I made for a work colleague - I made the pages with 8x8 square card, doubling it up for extra strength - the reverse of each page was blank for everyone to sign.
I've used Deirdery Dunderton in her finest pinny and fluffly slippers, colouring her with Promarkers (plus glossy accents on the glasses). I've made the background from Bloomin' 70s Backing Papers and I've made it look like wallpaper. The skirting board and floorboards are from scrap card that I've shaded with Promarkers.
I added Deirdery with foam pads so she stands proud a little and the lettering is Sizzix - two different sets used (Girls are Weird and Round-a-Bout) and cut from shiny silver card. Parts, 2, 3 and 4 will follow in subsequent weeks! To hold all the pages together so they opened out like a concertina, I used ribbon - it was easier to photograph singularly!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Everybody Art Challenge: Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread: Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams: Die Cuts
Daring Cardmakers: Hand Krafted

From The Heart Stamps Sketch 144
Welcome to another FTHS sketch with a twist challenge! I've used Necktie Banner image from the store, coloured with Promarkers and cut with an X Cut die. The sentiment comes with the image and I've used a black fine liner pen around the edge of the image and sentiment.
For a change I've used a sheet of acetate and added the baker twine to keep with the sketch. And finally a motorbike charm.
If you join in and link up you will receive a $1 voucher to the store to use on a purchase or to save up to get a free stamp. Don't forget that you need to use a FTHS image and also follow the sketch or the twist or both! Good luck!

From The Heart Stamps - Stamp of the Month - March
Each month at From The Heart Stamps there is a progressive challenge - join in by purchasing the image and then each month you receive the next one for free! A great way to build up your FTHS stash!
This month the stamp is Digging Dog - the sentiment also comes in the bundle along with a smaller image stamp and a further 7 sentiments! I've coloured it with Promarkers plus watercolour pencils for the background. I've added glossy accents to his eyes and nose (it has to be a 'he' to make such a mess!)
I've not got a clue where the papers originated but have a feeling they are from Polkadoodles and I've had them for some time. The half pearls are from my stash and I've added a cute silver dog dish and bone charm.
You've got until the end of the month to link up your creation and you'll then be emailed the next stamp in the first few days of April.
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenge: Make It Green
Clear It Out: Patterned Paper Over a Year Old
Try It On Tuesday: Nature
Glitter and Sparkle: Use Some Green

From The Heart Stamps Sketch 143
Time for a new From The Heart Stamps challenge! I've used one of the Birdbrain Football images - you get different groups / singles in the set and I've coloured this one with Promarkers plus glossy accents on the eyes.
I've handwritten the sentiment and found the plain papers in my stash - the printed one is from Sticks and Bones by Polkadoodles (you can buy the full cd or just smaller bundles!)
And surprisingly (!) I found some colour matching buttons in my stash! The sketch and twist is below - you can do either or both but please don't forget to use a FTHS stamp! Good luck!

Polkadoodle Challenge - Spring Colours
There is a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme is:
I've gone for something a little different and made some windmills and used papers from Lily Bug Love. I have a little template that I've had for years which I draw around and then cut out the shapes, fold them together and then secure with glue and a bead or half pearl in the centre.
I've added them to lolly sticks as I thought they would look nice in a plant pot before the flowers bloom!
Good luck with the challenge! I'd like to enter the following:
ABC Challenge: C is for Cute
Card Mania: Polkadots or Stripes
Creative Craft Digi Challenge: Girly
Sisters of Craft: Anything Goes

I've added glossy accents to the eyes, nose and lights and a tiny bit of glitter to the holly berries.
The wooden snowflake is from my stash along with the bakers twine and to finish off I've dotted a line around the edge of the card with a black fine liner pen. Good luck with the challenge!

From The Heart Stamps Sketch 142
There is a new sketch with a twist challenge at From The Heart Stamps! I've used Birdbrain Birdbath Chick, coloured with Promarkers plus added glitter glue to the bubbles (you just can't see it!) I've used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background - I only have a really old Sizzix red die cutting machine and the cutting area is not very big so I have to be creative if I need a large area embossing, so did panels for this card before layering the image over the top.
I've added a dotted line of liquid pearls around the edge of the image and sentiment, everything else is from my stash.
The sketch is below along with the twist - you can follow either the sketch or the twist (I've just done the twist this time) but you must use a FTHS stamp in your creation. Each entry receives a $1 voucher to the store that can be combined to buy a stamp!
Good luck! I'd like to enter the following:

From The Heart Stamps Blog Hop - CASE It!
It's the first Friday of March so it's time for a team blog hop at FTHS! For something a little different, this month we've all been given another team member to CASE! I was given Jo and went with her Flurry post from February.
Apologies for the darkness of the photo - trouble with my laptop monitor and it looked fine when I did it and now I have a new one, oopps! So, I've used the Flurry stamp and printed it onto different papers from Carina Gardner - O Christmas Tree and then I've layered it all onto another sheet and added half pearls for a bit of bling.
I don't think I've paper pieced before and rather enjoyed it so you never know - I may do it again!
So, back to the hop! If you've arrived at me from Michelle then you are on the right track! Don't forget to leave me a comment before you hop back to the blog. One lucky commentator will be chosen from each of our blogs to win a digi stamp of their choice from the store. Plus one of the commentators from the FTHS blog will be in with a chance of winning at $15 voucher to the store!
The hop will end on Monday 7 March at 6am EST and all winners will be announced on the From The Heart Stamps blog on Wednesday 9 March.
Good luck!

Polkadoodle Challenge - Tic Tac Toe
Today starts the second half of the current Polkadoodle challenge - Tic Tac Toe. You need to take a row from the grid below - I've gone top horizontal and also middle vertical.
All parts, with exception to the base card, charm and twine are from Sticks and Bones, layered up various elements and added the bone, tag and sentiment. The black doodle dewdrops are also from the store.

I've also added a dotted line around the edge of the three main elements with a white gel pen and a black fineliner pen. Pretty quick and easy to make and looks really good too!

To The Salon
Especially for my Mum on this forthcoming Mother's Day. Not that I'm saying my Mum goes to the hairdressers a lot, but I imagine it to be something like this......
Salon Deirdery just without the pooch. Image coloured with Promarkers and I've used some freebie papers I found in my stash for the wallpaper, recycled Graze box for the floorboards. And the wording are Clearly Besotted die cuts - I butchered Birthday for the word 'day'.
I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper: Anything Goes
