Girly Christmas

Time for a Christmas card and this is the first time I've inked this stamp. I bought it as a bit of a bargain in the clearance section in one of my local craft stores and it works so well for Christmas as well as other occassions! It's been coloured with Promarkers and just a hint of glitter glue.

I've used papers and sentiment from Polkadoodles Jingle Jangle Christmas plus some shiny silver card I found for layering. The gems are from my stash and for some strange reason, it took me ages to work out how best to place them!

The ribbon is from my stash and I've added some red and white embroidery thread as extra detail. And I've just realised that she's floating - I've not added a shadow..... ah well!

Another Christmas card off my total!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Willow Sketchie: Sketch
Penny Black at Allsorts: Christmas
Christmas Challenges: Girlie Christmas
Ellephantastic: Here Come The Girls

Polkadoodle Challenge 21 - Sketch

It's Friday again, so another Polkadoodle challenge! This week, Nikky gave us this sketch and asked us to use the Jingle Jangle Christmas cd and the rubber stamps that go with it.The green doodled backing paper and Polly are both from Jingle Jangle Christmas. I've coloured Polly with watercolour pencils and added some glitter glue to her wings. Polly did have some stars that she was scattering, however I had a little mishap with a pair of scissors and I cut them off. So instead she is holding a stamped gift with a glittery bow.

The two sentiments are stamps and the satin green ribbon is from my stash.

You have until 12noon on 18 October to enter - please leave a comment on the challenge post with a link to your creation. Don't forget that you need to follow the sketch and to only combine your Polkadoodle creation with a maximum of three other challenges. Good luck!

Snowman

The current Winter Wonderland challenge is a double one - the sketch below and also to use a snowman.

So, I've used elements from Polkadoodles Jingle Jangle Christmas and the rubber stamps which are being premiered on Create and Craft on Tuesday at 9am! I've used one of the sentiment stamps and also two of the snowflakes - stamped in blue and silver.

I've added gems to the centres of the snowflakes and also some glitter glue around the edges of the snowman. The ribbon is from my stash.

Apologies for the harsh photos - it doesn't seem to have got light properly over the last few days - its still sort of dark when I leave for work and its the same when I get home. So these photos are taken with the kitchen lights on... Winter is certainly on it's way!

For some reason, time is just not on my side this week and I have a long long list of things to do (mainly all before Saturday!) and just can't seem to get any ticked off my list..... Could do with an extra couple of hours in a day, ideally when everyone is in bed and its nice and quiet so I can craft in peace!

C is for Circles

The current ABC challenge is:

C is for Circles

And I have circles!! The card is actually 4 circles layered together with the letters cut from the top - it is a template on Jingle Jangle Christmas and I ran out of time to complete the card before Nikky launched the cd on Create and Craft in August, so I thought this challenge would be perfect to finish it off!

I've doodled over the stitched effect on the card and have added the white gel dots around the edges of the black borders. The three baubles across the centre are part of a lovely stamp set which will complement the Jingle Jangle cd - there is also one for Candy Doodles. Both stamp sets will be launched very soon on Create and Craft - so you saw them here first!!

The ribbon line is actually straight in real life - I've just taken a dodgy photo - I think it was the euphoria of realising it was actually daylight when I got home and not chucking it down and black clouds!

The NOEL template can be printed onto any card as it only prints the black lines so you could have it in much more traditional colours than I choose!

Frosty Polly

The current Sketch Saturday challenge is:

And I've made a frosty Polly card! The backing papers and the digi image of Polly are from the Polkadoodles Jingle Jangle Christmas cd - I've coloured Polly with felt tips and a bit of white gel pen and some glitter glue (hence the slight bleeding of colour on her dress!)

The snowflakes are from my stash (I think they came from the pound shop originally with some gift tape stuff) as are the gem centres. The present that Polly holds and the sentiment are actually stamps and you are having a very sneak peek of them! The stamp sets, by Polkadoodle, are due to be launched very soon on Create and Craft (more details will be added to my sidebar) - one Christmas set to complement the Jingle Jangle cd and one to complement Candy Doodles cd. I've seen the designs, and they are fab!

Sorry about the slightly blurry photos but its hardly got light properly over the last few days as the weather has been terrible. And I didn't want to use flash.

Polkadoodle Challenge 14 - Sketch

Yeah, it's Friday again and that can only mean another Polkadoodle challenge! This week the Design Team were given this sketch and asked to use the Candy Doodles cd. I do have my favourites on the cd but decided to use something different, hence the strawberries!

I've flipped the sketch as sometimes things work better for me in landscape. All the elements you see are on the cd but the little strawberries on the green backing paper I created all by my little self!

Basically, I copied one of the single strawberries, flipped it around in Windows Photo Editor (basic program on your computer) and then randomly added it all over a sheet of Word. I then changed the angle of the strawberry and did it again. Really quite simple! I then printed the word document out on a previously printed green background.

The big strawberry has been sploshed with liquid pearls (I found them in the back of my craft drawer as I'd forgotten I had them!) and I've slightly decoupaged it too with the stalk.

A bit of doodling here and there plus a bit of light inking and that's it! Quite an easy and quick card to make!
If you missed Nikky on Create and Craft earlier in the week, you can still catch a repeat - it's on at 11am on Sunday channel 671 on Sky and you'll get to see the unveiling of her new cd Jingle Jangles. Some really good projects are included within the cd and some stunning papers too!
Hope you can join the Polkadoodle Challenge this week - for more details and how to enter click here - you have until noon GMT on Sunday 30 August to enter. Good luck!

Jingle Jangle (again!)

The Pink Elephant Challenge this week is:

Brown, Turquoise and Neutral

And strangely enough, the challenge is very similar to the Cupcake challenge, so I used the same papers!

This time, I embossed the chocolate brown backing paper (if you look closely it actually has a doodle loopy swirl on it) with a Christmas snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder and then gently pressed a silver inkpad over the pattern. Also inked all the edges with silver. All the ribbon is from my stash, and if you look closely enough, the neutral element is some white ribbon in the centre (sorry the light wasn't that good early this morning!) and just in case, I've added a silver gem star too!

And obligatory glitter on the reindeer (cos its a Christmas card!) The cd will be available to buy shortly - if you can't wait either tune in to Create and Craft on Monday at 9am where Nikky will be demonstrating the cd live on telly (have a look for my cards!) or you can pre order it directly from Polkadoodles. If you can't wait that long, just keep visiting my blog and looking at the cards!

Jingle Jangle!

The Cupcake challenge this week is the following sketch plus to use the colour palette shown:

I've been having a play over the last day or so with the soon to be released Christmas cd Jingle Jangle from Polkadoodles, and by chance, I found just the colour palette! So not wanting to pass a challenge by, here is my card!

All the papers, including the tag are from the cd - I've added a little bit of faux stitching around the edge of the chocolate coloured card, inked the edges of all the papers, either with chestnut whispers or silver ink.

The brown organza ribbon is from my stash and I've prettied it up at the front by tying strips together and making it look a bit like a grubby snowflake! I've also added a silver gem to the front of the round tag topper.

And you've not seen the last of this colour palette either - so be warned! The cd is available to pre-order and its launch will be on Monday at 9am on Create and Craft - more details in my sidebar.

Twinkle and Sparkle

I found a Christmas challenge site! Which is good news as this week the Polkadoodle DT have been tasked with making things with the-very-soon-to-be-premiered-on-telly cd Jingle Jangles! And what better excuse than to follow some challenges at the same time!
The current Christmas Challenge is:
Twinkle and Sparkle
And here is mine! All paperbased elements are from the Jingle Jangle cd - I've printed onto white hammered card and resized the backing paper to A5 as the pattern is so pretty!
The image I've embellished with watercolours and blue and silver stamps as it was difficult to see the tree. I've then added some sparkle here and there and also around the edges of the card.

The ribbon is from my stash (have a feeling it was off a box of chocs). Tune into Create and Craft (Sky 671) on Monday 17 August at 9am where Nikky will be proudly demonstrating Jingle Jangle cd and all the DT creations. Have a look out for mine and yell, won't you if you see it?!
