Jellypark Challenge 25 - Waving

It's time for another Jellypark challenge and the theme this fortnight is

Waving

Here are three Thank You cards made with images drawn especially for me by Claire, the illustrator behind Jellypark!  One of my cousins (also called Claire (hellloooooo!)) got married at the end of March and she asked me to make the special Thank You cards for the immediate Wedding party, so here are the Best Man (in kilt) and the two Ushers.

I've used some lovely white linen effect white card that I bought ages ago from The Paper Mill shop and also used it for layering the images.  The sentiment is a freebie acrylic stamp from a magazine and the ribbon is leftovers from the Wedding stationery.

Good luck with the challenge - for more inspiration please pop over to the challenge blog.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Ribbons:  Clean and Simple
I Love Promarkers:  Anything Goes
Ruby's Rainbow:  Black, White + 1 Other Colour

Cutie Pie Challenge:  One For The Boys
Creative Inspiration Paints:  Weddings
  • Images:  Especially drawn by Claire at Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers

Simply Create Too Challenge 16 MIDWAY EXTRA - Country Where You Live

It's time for the Midway Extra on Simply Create Too and here is my offering for the theme:

Country Where You Live

I made this for a work colleague as one of her close friends was going to live in Germany and she wanted something themed as the 'Best Of British', and so it is!

All the little Union Jacks swing out on red brads except the two at the bottom with the sentiment on.  They've also been laminated to give them extra strength.

There is Winston Churchill, a Wish You Were here button badge, The Archers, Tomato Ketchup, a map, Marks and Spencers logo and Wallace and Gromit.

For more details on the challenge, pop over to the blog!  And good luck!  And we have a Design Team call running at the moment too!

Invitations

One of my oldest friends (she's not that old just that we've known each other since we were 13!) is turning 40 mid August and asked me to make her Garden Party invitations with a purple / lilac and pink theme.

So here are two of them! I made 22 in total.  I hand cut the banners and they have been edged with stickles which you can just about make out.  I added emboridery thread bows to the ends - two shades of pink and two shades of lilac as I didn't have enough of one single colour.

I've printed the sentiment on the pc and added a pink half pearl plus faux stitching around the main panel.  I had to keep the card as flat as I can for posting as any bulky embellishments and it costs almost twice more to send!

The main panel is Rainbow Polkadots download from Funky Hand and the purple was in my stash so not got a clue where it came from!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafts and Me:  Birthday's
365 Day Cards:  Day 119 - Mail-able
Anything Goes Challenge:  Polkadot with a Birthday Theme

  • Papers:  Rainbow Polkadots download from Funky Hand and my stash
  • Sentiment:  Computer generated
  • Everything else:  My stash

Fetch A Sketch is One!

It's our First Birthday over at Fetch A Sketch!  Time really has flown by and we've shared some fab sketches along the way and also been very lucky with some generous sponsors.

And because it is our Birthday, some of the generous sponsors are offering some prizes to some lucky commenters!  We have 5 prizes so that means 5 comments will be randomly picked from the challenge blog.  If you want to know more about the prizes, just pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes is to leave a comment on each of the blogs in the hop and finally back at Fetch A Sketch.  If you fancy being a follower then do so, but it is not a requirement.

The closing date for comments to be left is Tuesday 3 July at 12noon GMT so that gives you just over a week to get hopping!  We will announce the winners on Wednesday 11 July.

The regular Fetch A Sketch gals are joined by previous (and current!) Guest Designers and the hop list is:

Don't forget to leave a comment as you pass through on each blog otherwise you won't be entered into the draw for one of our sponsor prizes!
We've also looked back through our back catalogue and picked a favourite sketch and by using sponsor images and papers we've created something.  I've gone for the sketch from challenge 6:

And used Harold Hammock from Dude Time Doodles who has been coloured with Promarkers and papers from Polkadoodles - Britannia download.  I've used a Nestabilities die to cut the shape and added some buttons and embroidery thread from my stash for detail.

Good luck with the hop and don't forget to leave a comment!

I've used the fab digi Silly Sam and coloured him with Promarkers.  I've used one of my X Cut dies to cut the oval (no more wonky lines for me!) dotted a black line around the edge and used papers from Polkadoodles - Britannia download.  Stars have been cut with my fab X Cut dies.

Olympic Torch & Singing In The Cathedral

Yesterday (Saturday) was another rather busy but very different day!  Samuel and I watched the Olympic Torch pass through the shopping area in Blackburn (we patiently waited by the barriers for an hour - luckily not raining - which, by the time it was 9:25am, was 4 or 5 deep with spectators!)  Although she wasn't actually sprinting, if you blinked, you'd have missed it!

The picture is actually slightly blurry but at least I just about got the flame on!

And then an hour or so later, Samuel was singing with his class in Blackburn Cathedral!  I think it was part of the Olympic celebrations (but I could be wrong!) and here he is with his class teacher Mrs Oddie (who is fab!)

It's the first time I've been in Blackburn Cathedral and it is really beautiful inside.

A Week Late!

My card for my Dad for Fathers Day was a week late as they were visiting my brother and his kids for the weekend. Good job really as I was actually late in making the card! So here it is!

I've used some random card from my stash for the panel and I think some Bazzill cardstock for the base.  The image is from Dustin Pike (was in the mega deal from a few months ago) and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus glossy accents for the eyes.

I've handwritten the sentiment, added faux stitching around the edge of the image, made some fake brads with a Sharpie marker and glossy accents (quick and not in the least bit messy!) and finally used some garden twine for a bloke touch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Dustin Pike:  All Tied Up
Critter Sketch:  Sketch Used
Dream Valley Challenges:  Things With Wings
Robyns Fetish:  No Flowers
Dilly Beans:  Dots

  • Image:  Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers

For My Racing Driver!

Once again I've missed blogging one of the new Jellypark release stamps!  To be honest, I'm struggling with blogger and the way it holds all the draft posts - for some reason it all looked a lot easier in the previous version!

Anyway, here is last week's new release from Jellypark - Boy With No1 Medal and I've coloured him with Promarkers.  I've added him to a card with an acetate front so you can see the background through it.

The backgound wording is a freebie from Papercraft Inspirations magazine and I've layered it onto some red card to base it.  And that's it really!  Pretty quick and simple!

Samuel had round 6 of the Inkart Championship earlier today and despite a few setbacks in the heats, he was placed third on the grid going into the final and actually completed the race in second place!  So another trophy to add to the 4 he has already got!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

2 Sisters:  Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy:  Boy Attitude
CCEE Stampers:  Masculine

  • Image:  Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers
  • F1 Driver Words:  Freebie from Papercraft Inspirations
  • Everything else:  My stash

Time for another Polkadoodle challenge and this week the theme is:

Trooping The Colour

So this week we are looking for lots of colour!

I've used the kit from the Pen and Paper Circle, kit 1, which is no longer available (sorry!)  The stamp and sentiment is also from the kit and I've altered a brown takeaway bag.  The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used my scalloped Nesties for layering plus some faux stitching and embroidery thread.

Good luck with the challenge!

Simply Create Too Challenge 16 - Country Where You Live

It's time for another Simply Create Too challenge and this fortnight the theme is:

Country Where You Live

So what colours depict your country?  For me, its red, white and blue and of course bunting and tea!

I've used a free template from Papercraft Inspirations magazine to make the tea pot and I've used papers from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download for both the teapot and the bunting.

I've added a little ticket the the bottom of the teapot and that is from Jellypark and I've coloured it with Promarkers.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 18 - Anything Goes!

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and I really have flown by the seat of my pants to get this one finished in time!  It's been one of those weeks which started with a rather full and busy weekend - so if the glitter looks to be not dry, then it isn't!

Anyway, onto this fortnights challenge and the theme I've chosen is:

Anything Goes

So as long as it is Christmas or Festive related then it can be entered!

I am sponsored by the very fab and talented Squidgi Digi - if you've not come across Beth and her images before then click on the banner below.

I've used an image that Beth has drawn especially for me to use for the challenge - fab eh?!  It's not yet available to buy but I'm sure it will be soon!  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and glitter glue and used a papers from The Clip Art Fairy - Beautiful Baby Boy along with some silver half pearls, snowflakes and some sparkly thread from my stash.

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 26 - Midway Extra

It's time for the Midway Extra post on Fetch a Sketch.  And I'm sorry that my card is so late being blogged. I've had a rather busy weekend with football tournaments (I think they came next to last but first match they've played and they played in the age group too high!) birthday parties, driving in torrential rainstorms and karting (last one rather good - read it here!) Two reasons.  The keyboard at home is hard work - it works but I really have to knock the keys about but I presume its because my keyboard at work is a joy to use!  I'd left the last bits of this post to do when I got into work early doors this morning but because the interface is in need of an upgrade and blogger won't work properly with what I have, I am unable to publish or save any work that I do on blogger.

And last week, all the pictures that I did add to draft posts have all gone so I now need to go back through and add them.  Great eh?  And after leaving the house at 7:30am this morning I've not long been home after a meeting at school.

So not in the best of moods with blogger right now!

Anyway, here is a reminder of the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I've used some more of the rather large blooms from Alex and papers from Cosmo Cricket - Mr Campy.  The butterfly is a chipboard shape with seed bead centre and I've added seed beads with glossy accents to the flower.  A bit of  doodling around the edges and the card is complete!  Quite a quick and easy card to make once I'd decided what I was doing!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

The Hybrid Chick:  Clean and Simple
Crafty Calendar:  Flowers In Bloom

Cute Rabbit in Blue

Isn't this a cute little image?  It's one of the new releases over at Jellypark and I've coloured him with Aquamarkers - I really should use them more often as I love using them and they are a lot lot quicker than normal colouring pens!

I've used papers from the very fab brand new cd from Funky Hand - Wishes and Kisses (this is the baby boy collection) and I've added a wiggly doodled line around the edge with a gel pen.

The ribbons are from my stash and as luck would have it, I found the blue gingham bow in my bag (rather large) of oddments - the kinda stuff you get with jumpers and on packaging, and it was the perfect size.  A few half pearls and I'm done!

Pop over to Jellypark to have a look at all the digi stamps - all are £1.25 so quite a bargain - and the other new release I will blog over the weekend (providing I remember as Jacob has a football tournament tomorrow and then a Birthday party to attend late afternoon - he has a better social life than me!  But it gives me chance to pop to a craft shop for an hour or so browsing!)

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday:  Sketch Followed but can't get onto blog - permission not granted?
Forever Friends:  Anything Goes
Paper Shelter:  Anything Goes

Jellypark Challenge 24 - Let's Go Fly A Kite!

It's time for another Jellypark challenge and its a cute one for this fortnight! It is:

Let's Go Fly A Kite

So kite images, strings - anything kite related it will work!  I've used one of the 2012 Little Havens Charity stamps and coloured her with Promarkers along with the balloon which has been attached with bakers twine.  All the proceeds from the sale of the charity stamps go to the charity, and at only £1.25 each they are a bargain!

I've used a fab cloud paper from Echo Park, Summerday papers and added a doodled line around the edge.  The grass is a Marianne Creatables icicles die which looks just as good as grass - upside down!

Hope you can join in the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too Challenge 15 MIDWAY EXTRA - Dad's / Father's Day

It's time for the Midway Extra over on Simply Create Too.  Our current theme is

Dad's / Father's Day

And you still have just about a week left to enter the challenge!

I've used another Gordon Fraser image which I bought from CraftsUPrint and then coloured with Promarkers.  I've made a wordbook from sheets of acetate, cut out the letters and then embossed them with a Cuttlebug folder.  It actually spells fifty in case you were wondering!

I made the bunting with offcuts of the silver card and little letters from my Baby Face Cuttlebug alphabet dies.  I think making wordbooks are my favourite - they are pretty easy to make and look great plus you can really embellish them - much more than a regular card!

This isn't for my husband - he likes 4 wheels - but its for a custom order!

Good luck with the Simply Create Too challenge!  Pop over to the blog to find out more and how to enter.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cooking It Up With Katie:  Dad, Metal and Texture (metal brads used)

Once a month Dude Time Doodles offers a freebie and combines it with a challenge.  Simples - use the freebie, link it up and you could be picked as a future Guest Designer!

The image this week is a good one:

The image is called Johnny on the Spot and I've coloured this little beauty with Promarkers and the green tinge was intentional!  Stuck it onto a random bit of card I found in my stash, added a faux stitched line around the edges and added the handwritten sentiment tag with some embroidery thread.  And there you have it!

Hope you can join us and if you want a giggle just have a look at the rest of the Design Team samples!!

Keep Calm

Here is a quick card that I am rather pleased with! I came across some free Portobello Road papers in a magazine and decided to use some of the A4 sheets.  I've distressed the edges with scissors and also added a running stitch around the card edge.

The topper is from Cardmarkers Delights and you can buy a set of 8 for only £1.49! I've layered it onto an offcut of the red gingham paper and some dark blue card I had in my stash.  The toppers are really good quality and are printed onto stiff white card and are totally blank on the reverse.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Samuel Taylor Crafts:  Red, White and Blue
Gingerloft:  Vintage
Sarah Hurley Challenge:  Red, White and Blue

  • Topper:  Cardmakers Delights
  • Papers:  Portobello Road - magazine freebie papers

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 26

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is Jenny's sketch:

She really does do fab simple sketches!  And here is my sample.  I've used two rather large blooms that were given to me some time ago by the lovely Alex and I've been looking at them, knowing I'd be able to use them one day!  I've layered them up and added seed beads to the centre.

The papers are Echo Park - Be Mine and I've cut a cross in the centre of the spotty paper and folded the corners back - I printed on both sides for a contrast.  We've got a special Guest Designer joining us for June - you'll have to pop over to Fetch A Sketch to see who it is!!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following:

Robot

It's been another busy weekend - all to do with karting!  Jacob, on Saturday, finished fourth (again!) in the Formula Bambino championship at Daytona Manchester.  And this morning Samuel had two practice sessions back to back (we are cruel parents!) and he smashed his personal best lap record and set a new time of 25.618 - you can have a read about it on their karting blog!  Feel free to leave them a comment - you could be the first!!  There are a few videos on the blog too so you can see how fast Samuel goes and the noise!  I'm now used to the smell of diesel lingering on me all day after we've been there for a few hours!

Anyway, back to earth and crafting!  Once again (I am still blaming the new Blogger layout!) I've not blogged the new release digi stamp from Jellypark!  It's this rather fab little robot who comes with a blank sentiment tile (I've handwritten the sentiment).  He's been coloured with Promarkers and I've used papers from Cosmo Cricket - Cogsmo along with my fab X Cut star dies.  I've just released that this card is the image that accompanies the digi stamp on the Jellypark website!!!

I don't know if you can see them, but I've made some fake black brads - a dot of black pen (either a fineliner or Sharpie marker) and then dab a dot of glossy accents over the top - quick and fab!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Great Impressions:  Die Cuts or Punches

Polkadoodle Challenge 23 - Lots of Flowers

It's Friday and that means its time for a Polkadoodle challenge!  The theme this week is:

Lots of Flowers

I've gone back to an old favourite - Paper Boutique Vol 1 and used the A5 template, cut out all the elements and layered them however I wanted (because you can do that!)  I glittered the edges of the flowers and added seed beads to the centres.  I added some die cut letters to one of the tags plus I used up some oddments of ribbon to tie around the top.

A really quick and easy card to make and I like doing cutting out stuff when watching tv as its really the only time I get to watch tv!

Good luck with the challenge!  For more details, pop over to the challenge blog.

I'd like to enter the following:

Crafters Companion:  Time To Embellish

Pretty Little Ribbon Shop:  Lots of Layers
Really Reasonable Ribbon:  Flowers and Ribbon

  • Template:  Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 1

Simply Create Too Challenge 15 - Dad's / Father's Day

It's time for another Simply Create Too challenge!  And with Father's Day just around the corner, the theme for the next two weeks is:

Dad's / Father's Day

I've used a digi image by Gordon Fraser - bought from here - and coloured it with Promarkers.  It's been cut out and I've made a double stepper card with an old Get Funky freebie cloud paper plus some greens from my stash.  I've actually used a Marianne Creatables icicle die but to me it looks a lot like grass when used the other way up!

I've got an Ellison die that has the little golf ball on so I cut that out a number of times and added them to the grass.  The word 'Dad' has been cut with my Sizzix Round A Bout alphabet dies and I made the golf flag (the word fore is crossed out and a 50 added).  This is for my brothers' girlfriends Dad and I hope he likes it!

Good luck with the Simply Create Too challenge - for more details on how to enter, pop over to the blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 17 - Decorations

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge!  The theme for this fortnight is:

Decorations

If you want to know more about the challenge, pop over to Crimbo Crackers!  I'm sponsored by Bugaboo and have used one of their images in my sample:

I've used Ruby - Christmas Ornaments on my card and coloured her with Promarkers with some rather fab glittery lime green hair!  I've added glossy accents to her specs but you can't see (no pun intended!)  Papers are from Funky Hand - Twelve Crafters Crafting cd and I've had them in my stash for ages and are left over bits from previous projects.
I've added a faux stitch around the edge of the star papers and a dotted line around the edge of the X Cut die shape (which wasn't big enough for the image so Ruby's hair overhangs!)  Ribbon is from my stash and I've added a layered snowflake to hide the join.

Good luck with the challenge and I hope you'll join in - for more details pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Dude Time Doodles - Boys and Their Toys

It's a new challenge time at Dude Time Doodles and this week it is a theme:

Boys and Their Toys

I've gone for an old favourite - Rocco Soccer with a large and small ball.  I've enlarged the football so its the actual card base and added a little shading with Promarkers.  The image is coloured with Promarkers and is a retro 1965 Manchester City kit as this card was for a big Man City fan.

Rocco is attached to the card base with a spring so he wobbles around a little and the sentiment was printed from my pc.

Hope you can join in with the challenge this week - for more details go to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Get Well Soon!

Now this is the card I should have blogged over two weeks ago!  I don't know if it is the new blogger layout that is confusing me ever so slightly because I can't really see things as easily (I draft all my posts as I've made my DT commitments so that I know I've done it and the photo is there, and then once I've written the post I schedule it.....) but anyway, here it is, only a smidgin late!

And for some reason my card looks out of focus - its not - the photo is perfectly ok but blogger is being a bit of a pest!

Isn't this a cute image?  It's from Jellypark and I've coloured her with Promarkers.  The sentiment comes with the image and I've used one of my Nesties for the oval - no more wonky ovals for me now I have these dies!!

I've added a faux stitch around the edge of the papers and also the image and I've actually used a bandage across the centre!  Papers are from Funky Hand (retired) and I've used my fab X Cut star die.

So there you have it.  It's also rather late for me - I can't sleep tonight - its something that is quite rare as I do like my sleep so I thought I'd use my time wisely without child or husband interruptions!  Therefore, if something in this post does not make sense, its cos its early hours!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 25 - Midway Extra

It's time for the Midway Extra over on Fetch A Sketch.  We have two sponsors this fortnight - Jellypark and Funky Hand and for more details on the prizes pop over to Fetch A Sketch.  To have a browse in the online stores just click on the banners below:

And here is a reminder of the sketch:

I've used Funky Hand papers from Twelve Crafters Crafting plus one of the banners from Jellypark plus the snowman.  I've paper pieced the banner and layered it onto an offcut of printed card and then added the embroidery thread bows at the ends.  You can't quite see it, but I've also added some stickles around the edges of the banner.

If you like a sale then quickly go over to Jellypark - Claire is having a sale over the Jubilee Weekend - all digi stamps are only 60p!!  BE QUICK!!

The snowman has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used my fab X Cut dies for the shapes behind him plus three sparkly snowflakes that Jenny sent me ages ago (thank you!)

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the challenge blog.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark Challenge - Boy Crazy!

I think I'm having one of 'those weeks' - I just don't know what I'm doing half the time and I'm so behind with blogging stuff!  It probably started on Sunday when Samuel won the Cadet class in Karting - not that we don't think he can win it, it was just a shock that he did win it with some fantastic racing! The week has sort of taken on a bit of a cotton woll feeling!  So I'm sorry that this is late, and I've just realised that I've not blogged the last Jellypark release!  Eek - I'll do that this weekend!

Anyway!  It's time for a new Jellypark challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Boy Crazy!

I've used something a little different this time - Party Printables from Jellypark!  I've used the cupcake cases and the toppers from the Pirate Set and Samuel and I made the cakes!  That is about as close as I get to real cooking!

The cake cases were easy to make - print two sheets, cut them out and then stick the tab together.  The toppers I used a circle die to cut them out and then layered them with a scalloped edge Netie for a bit of extra strength and used some cocktail sticks.  The boys thought they were wonderful!

Good luck with the challenge!  For more details, pop over to the challenge blog!

Simply Create Too Challenge 14 MIDWAY EXTRA - Wedding

It's time for the Midway Extra part to the current Simply Create Too challenge!  The theme is:

Weddings

And I'm sharing a card I was asked to make for a Pagan Wedding.  Two of the main colours were white and Cadbury Purple for which I had to buy (just had to!) some ribbon from Meiflower!

I researched some of the symbols and came across the one I've used which represents the Celtic knot which has no beginning or end - the circle of life.  I've used my X Cut fancy dies for all the layered shapes as I wanted something a bit more detailed than a square.

The card is from my stash but originally came from The Paper Mill shop and its a lovely white linen effect perfect for Wedding cards.  I printed the text and added a laced effect to the side of the card as many Pagan Weddings have a binding of the hands theme and also the gowns are brightly coloured and are laced bodices.  Half pearls from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge - there is still time to enter!
