Polkadoodle Challenge 35 - Flowers

Time for another Polkadoodle challenge and this week the theme is:

Flowers

I've gone for an old favourite and used the template from Paper Boutique Vol 1, cut out all the flowers and layered them up how I wanted.  I've added stickles around the edges of the flowers and lots of seed beads to the centres.

Some offcuts of organza ribbon through the tags and I've used my Baby Face Cuttlebug alphabet dies for the letters and numbers.  Made for my brothers girlfriends' Gran who likes flowers.  Did you follow that?!

Dude Time Doodles 29 August New Release & Blog Hop!

It's time to show off the brand new release images from Dude Time Doodles, and we celebrate this on the last Wednesday of each month with a Blog Hop!

After you have left me a comment, pop over to Kevin

I've used Grilling Gil and coloured him and the background with Promarkers.  The papers are from my stash - the blue is from Funky Hand and the red are odd bits I have kept (for some strange reason but I knew they'd be useful one day!)  I've cut the stars with my trusty and faithful X Cut die.

A bit of inking and some doodling and I've created the sentiment on my pc (couldn't trust myself to write that much and keep it neat!)  Perfect image for a man don't you think?!

Good luck with the hop and don't forget to leave a comment as you go past!

Vase of Flowers

Here is the first of two new release digi stamps from Jellypark. I'll show my other make tomorrow (can't have too much of a good thing all at once!)

This one is called Flowers in Vase and I've printed it onto some linen effect white card and coloured with Promarkers.  I've used my Nesties to cut it out and then layer onto the backing.  I've also added a dotted line around the edge of the circle with a pink gel pen.

I've been really good and found the papers in my stash and I know I've had them for ages as they were right at the bottom and I can't remember who the company is.  I also had to do a bit of careful joining hence why there are two lines of embroidery thread down the far sides to hide the joins!  Pearls and ribbon is from my stash.

Tomorrow is round 8 of the Inkart Championship and at the moment Samuel is in second place overall in the Cadet category.  He's had 6 podium finishes from the last 7 rounds and with 4 rounds (including tomorrow) left to go, its getting rather exciting!  And that is why I have to dye my hair - because the excitement and nerves is turning it grey!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Get Funky - Anything Goes (with a Funky Hand Product)

It's my turn to provide some inspiration for this months challenge:

Anything Goes with Funky Hand Products

Please remember that you can make ANYTHING you like as long as you've used a Funky Hand product within your creation.  If you've not got anything, then you can snag the freebie that Anice offers each month which fits in with the challenge theme.

The winner gets to choose a Funky Hand download!

I've made something a little different!  I've used papers from Wishes and Kisses and printed them directly onto some photo transfer paper, cut them up using a Union Jack Template and created this:

It's a double sided canvas bag with a Funky Union Jack design!  The size of the Union Jack is A5 so I printed 3 different patterned papers onto the T-shirt Transfer Paper from Photo Paper Direct, cut them down to A5 and then used a Union Jack template (google is good!) to cut them out (I layered the three sheets together and took my time!)

I laid out the three papers and swopped elements over - the third one I made as a bag for myself!  A hot iron and a flat surface - worktop - and it was finished fairly quickly!  I bought the canvas bags from ebay.

Good luck with the challenge - and don't forget to use a FUNKY HAND PRODUCT!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

DL.ART challenge:  Use Fabric
Moving Along With The Times:  Anything But Square

Jellypark Challenge - Quench Your Thirst

There is a new challenge at Jellypark this fortnight and the theme is:

Ribbon is from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!  The two new release digi stamps I'll be showing over the weekend as Friday's are a rather busy blog post day for me!!

Back To School

This card was a special request - her daughter had just completed three years of Nurse training and had qualified - Emily had gone from being a graduate to a Nurse!

Both images are from Pink Cat Studio and I've coloured them with Promarkers and used my fancy X Cut dies.

I've handwritten the sentiments and used ribbon from my stash.  The spotty papers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and inspiration, pop over to Simply Create Too!

Dude Time Doodles - Buttons

Time for a Dude Time Doodles challenge and the theme this week is:

Push My Button

I've gone for something a little different as I do like this rather sour faced fishy - which has been coloured with Promarkers and then added to the background paper with foam pads.  All the papers - the background and flash of fishes are from Echo Park - Splash papers.

The buttons are from my stash and I had great fun sorting through the tub to find ones that suited the card!  The little bubbles I've made with a Sharpie marker and glossy accents and I've handwritten the sentiment!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and inspiration, pop over to the challenge blog!

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge! Lou is our hostess this fortnight and here is her fab sketch:
We are sponsored by Squidgi Digi and Beth is generously offering the challenge winner 5 digi's from her store!

I've used the fab Beach Huts digi for my sample, coloured them with Promarkers and added a cloud background from Echo Park - Summerdays and I've cut a few extra clouds and added a doodled line and foam pads for depth.

The sand is bits of yellow card that I had in my stash which have been inked and I handwrote the sentiment.  A bit of pale yellow organza ribbon in a bow and the card is complete!

Jellypark Club Digi Stamp Freebie - Envelopes and Pen

If you've not yet joined the Jellypark Club then go over and sign up right away as you can then snag this fab freebie digi stamp - Envelopes and Pens!  The Club costs nothing to join and alongside a free digi stamp (available for a short time period) you get access to a special code which gives you a discount off any purchase from the website!

I've coloured the three images with Promarkers and then cut them out, adding stickles to the stamp and heart and layering them with foam pads.  The card base was generously donated by my cousin Claire as it was left overs from her Wedding stationery (thanks Claire!)  is beautifully embossed card - it has a very thin embossed lined pattern.  I've added rounded corners and a pink gel pen dotted line around the outside.

I've handwritten the sentiment and added a pink organza bow to the top.  Probably one of the quickest cards I've made and the digi stamp could be yours if you sign up to the Jellypark Club!

And the football tournament Jacob took part in today?  It did rain.  And rain.  And rain.  And rain.  It actually was sunny when we were at home and before the matches started so it was a bit of a shock when it started to rain.  Photos to follow of the team!  Didn't get any of the matches because it was raining!

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Girl and Cake

Each week in between the challenges and new release stamps, at Jellypark we feature one of the stamps from the store as a spotlight feature.  And this week it is the turn of this stamp:

Girl and Cake.  Which, is only £1.25 in the store!  I've coloured her with Promarkers plus lashings of stickles on top of the cake for rather delicious icing!

The card base is actually a pre-printed one and it is all one layer and its from Cuddly Buddly.  I drew around one of my circle Nesties and then cut the image out as her feet and hair bow slightly protruded from the circle and I didn't want to cut them off!

I've added some half pearls to the sides of the card and that is it!

I'll be back tomorrow (after the football match that Jacob is playing in and I hope it doesn't rain!) with a card using the freebie stamp that you can snag if you join the Jellypark Club.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Polkadoodle Challenge 33 - Tags

There is a new challenge over at Polkadoodles and the theme this week is:

Tags

I've used papers from Candy Doodles cd (one of my favourites) along with a Sizzix Super Scallop tag die, faux stitching and a fab Emma Canning digi image which I've coloured with Promarkers and I'm rather pleased with how her hair has turned out!

The tag and image have been added with foam pads which helped on the tag as I added quite a bit of ribbon to the top of it - all left over from my cousin Claire's Wedding earlier in the year (thanks Claire!)

If you like the look of the image pop over to Emma's blog as she is holding a Design Team call at the moment!  I've actually added a real string to the ribbon, partly cos I was not concentrating and snipped through the image!  Doh!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter:  Clean and Simple
Sisterhood of Crafters:  Tag You're It

  • Image:  Emma Canning, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers:  Candy Doodles cd

  • Dies:  Sizzix Super Scallop tag

Simply Create Too Challenge 20 - Back To School

We have a new challenge starting over at Simply Create Too and although the kids in the UK have a few more weeks left of their summer break, the challenge theme this fortnight is:

Back To School

This is actually a graduation card that I was asked to make - Clair who graduated as a teacher actually looks like the Charmed Cards and Crafts digi which I've coloured with Promarkers!  I've had the Holly and Madison set of digi's for ages and I really should use them more!

I've used an acetate base for something a little different and added a blackboard type message underneath the Tiddly Inks blackboard.  Bunting I made and tied on with embroidery thread.  Gold star is table confetti (but rather chunky!) which I've had for ages.

And by all accounts, Clair loved the card!  Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 22 - Christmas Pudding

The weeks are certainly flying by and it's hard to believe that we are half way through August!  But if you've been joining in with the Crimbo Crackers challenges every fortnight, the pile of Christmas cards will be looking quite healthy now!

This fortnight the theme is:

Christmas Pudding

Or similar - cake etc - I'm quite relaxed as to what constitutes Christmas Pudding!

I'm sponsored by Ladybug Craft Inks and Kerry has generously offered a £10 gift certificate to spend in the store for one lucky entrant!

I've been lucky enough to work with one of the digi images from the store - Christmas Pudding and it's been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glossy accents on the berries and stickles on the runny stuff on the top of the pudding (would that be cream?!  I usually have Christmas cake rather than pudding to be honest, although I think it could be brandy based!)  I've added it to the card with foam pads so it stands proud a little.
The papers I've had for absolutely ages and is part of a download from Mad About Cards.  The brown card is from the Papermill Shop and I've added some faux stitiching and some rather posh linen / twill ribbon that I bought a few years ago from a local(ish) craft shop that was relocating and everything was being sold at mad prices!

Good luck with the challenge - to find out more and how to enter click here.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Just Keep On Creating:  Christmas
Celebrate the Occasion:  Christmas in August
City Crafter Challenge:  Fabric (does the linen / twill ribbon type stuff count?!)

We have two sponsors this fortnight - Funky Hand are offering one lucky winner a download of their choice
And Jellypark are offering another lucky winner two digi's of their choice!

For my sample I've used the Wedding Cake digi stamp from Jellypark and coloured it with Promarkers, Stickles and Liquid Pearls, adding a line of Liquid Pearls around the edge of the image plus some tiny half pearls too.
The paper is from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots and I've doodled a line around the edge and added a rather large red organza bow to finish it off!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to the Challenge Blog!

WOOOFFF!!!

And here is the second of the two new release stamps from Jellypark for this fortnight and isn't this one a cutie?! This is Puppy Dog and I've coloured him with Aquamarkers and cut him out, layering with foam pads.

I've used a kraft card blank plus a little doodling around the edges and the papers and letters are from Patti Picklicious cd from Kirsty Wiseman and they are papers I've had printed off for ages - see - still trying to be good and use up all my oddments!  At this rate I'll be into the next century by the time the box is empty!

Hope you like the two digi stamps that I've shown and don't forget - they are only £1.25 each in the Jellypark shop!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Great Impressions Stamps:  Animals
Sentimental Sunday's:  Clean and Simple (with a sentiment)

  • Image:  Jellypark, coloured with Aquamarkers
  • Papers and letter tiles:  Patti Picklicious cd from Kirsty Wiseman

This Is How I Learnt To Type!

Here we go, late as usual with the first of the two new release digi stamps from Jellypark:

This one is called (appropriately enough!) typewriter.  And I've coloured it with Promarkers and some liquid pearls.  It reminds me so much of the totally ancient and weighing a tonne typewriter that I learnt to type on at school.  No, I'm not that old, just the equipment was and it was in the early days of word processors.  Yeah, I probably am showing my age now!

Papers are from Echo Park - Be Mine digital paper pack and I've added some very fine sparkly thread and half pearls from my stash.  As you can see I'm trying to be very good and use up scraps!

We've had a rather exciting weekend - Jacob set his fastest lap time yesterday in the Formula Bambino round and came 4th overall - not yet on the podium but he's close!  And then today, Samuel knocked a very impressive 0.5 seconds off his fastest lap time which actually broke the track record or it would have done if it had not been broken just a few minutes earlier by another driver!  Samuel is actually the second quickest driver on the track beating other Cadets, Juniors and adults - not bad for a nearly 9 year old!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

One Stitch At A Time:  Anything Goes
Challenge Up Your Life:  Anything Goes
Crafty Catz:  Anything Goes
Art Impressions Stamps:  Any Sentiment
In The Pink:  50 Shades of Pink

Jellypark Challenge - Summer Bugs

It's time for a new Jellypark challenge! And the theme this fortnight is

Summer Bugs

Here is a little cutie - Butterfly Girl - coloured with Aquamarkers plus stickles on her wings, she has been added to another fab background and card all in one from Cuddly Buddly.  Although the papers look layered they aren't - its all flat!

So quite a quick card to be honest!  Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the Design Team's inspiration for the challenge!

There are two fab new release stamps too but I'll be showing my creations off with the new stamps over the weekend.  Otherwise I think blogger will have a Friday meltdown with the number of posts I'd have to create and publish!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Scrapbook Sisters:  Things With Wings
365 Day Cards:  Day 162 - Bright

  • Papers:  Cuddly Buddly pre printed card papers

Simply Create Too Challenge 19 MIDWAY EXTRA - Anything Goes!

It's time for the Midway Extra post and inspiration for the Simply Create Too challenge! The theme this fortnight is:

Anything Goes

I've made a simple and quick card using a Jellypark image which is one of the Little Havens fundraising stamps - all the profits go to the charity and at only £1.25 its a bargain!   It's been coloured with Promarkers and I've made the sky with a rather tatty and worn blue inkpad - but it still does the job!  The green was also done with a rather old and tatty ink pad!

I've added stickles around the edge of the image and also some liquid pearl dots around the frill and the bottom half of the card too.  The card backing is one complete image although it does look layered and its from Cuddly Buddly.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Get Funky Challenge - Numbers or Words - No Images

I'm back with another sample for this months Get Funky challenge which is:

Words or Numbers (no images)

Now I do like my wordbooks and I get a lot of requests to make them and I also like to do my own thing with them so although I've used Funky Hand papers (Funky Daze cd) I've actually created the letters on the pc and then cut them out before adding to the wordbook pages.

This one is for a 50th Birthday and its one of the longest wordbooks I've made with 9 letters! I've glittered around the letters and made bunting with offcuts of card and handwrote the letters.

The 50 are diecuts and I've added seed beads for a bit extra sparkle and lashings of glossy accents!  Ribbon and embroidery thread from my stash.

So now, over to you!  Don't forget that you MUST use a Funky Hand product in your creation to be in with a chance of winning and if you don't have anything Funky Hand then there is the freebie to download which always ties in with the challenge.

And if you fancy treating yourself, Funky Daze is only £7.99 for the cd and it's one of my favourites!

Good luck with the challenge - not long left to enter so be quick!

Time for another challenge at Fetch A Sketch and this fortnight I am the hostess and here is my sketch:
We have two wonderful sponsors for the challenge - so two prizes on offer to two lucky entrants:  Jellypark are offering two digi's (have you joined the Jellypark club yet?!)

And Funky Hand are offering a download of the winners choice

I've used the very cute Knight digital stamp from Jellypark and used papers from Happy Happy Birthday cd from Funky Hand - I thought the pattern was perfect!  The image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've added some faux stitiching around the X Cut ovals.

Around the edge of the card I've added some large black Sharpie marker dots and then blobbed some glossy accents over the top so they look like mini brads.  Last but not least, some embroidery thread to finish it off.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to Fetch A Sketch and have a look at Lou's fab sample too!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Nan and Grandad

On the Friday in between challenges, at Jellypark we have a stamp spotlight where the Design Team pick a favourite and we make something with it!  And this week we are using Nan and Grandad on Sofa (only £1.25 in the store and you can get a discount code if you join the Jellypark club!)

I've coloured it with Promarkers and then cut around the image, adding it to a Cuddly Buddly pre printed card blank.  I thought it looked a bit Christmassy with the reds!  I've simply added some rather ancient paper Ponsettia flowers and even older gold accent beads.

If you like the image and want to see more inspiration, just pop over to the Jellypark challenge blog!  I think this will be my last post of today!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

CCEE Stampers:  Red
Clear It Out:  Christmas in July (the flowers I've had for ages - the tiny accent beads even longer!)
Lexi's Creations:  Christmas in July
Cutie Pie Challenge:  Christmas in July
Opus Gluei:  Seasons

Polkadoodle Challenge 31 - Bunting and Banners

Ready for another post?! This one is for Polkadoodle - another challenge is launched today and the theme is:

Banners and Bunting

I've made this image bigger than normal because I am rather pleased with how it turned out - it looked nothing like this in my head!!  I've used Candy Doodles papers plus some random doodling around the edges.  X Cut dies for the ovals and an Emma Canning digi that I've coloured with Promarkers (rather pleased with how the hair has turned out!) plus a smidge of liquid pearls.

The bunting has been made with offcuts of card and I've added a dotted line around the inner edge and then added half pearls plus some pink and white bakers twine.  I think the girlie in me is screaming to get out at the moment and I've even been wearing DRESSES for work (there was a sale on in Monsoon at Piccadilly Station a few weeks ago and I could not resist half price or better - was £55 reduced to £16.50 and £24 - I mean, hello?!  And they fit perfectly!)

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Digital Tuesday:  Monochromatic
Tuesday Throwdown:  Doodling
Whoopsi Daisy:  Lots of Layers
Kenny K's Krafty Krew:  Banners and Bunting
Pile It On:  Cute As Can Be

Simply Create Too Challenge 19 - Anything Goes!

The posts are going to come fairly rapidly today and this is the first one! It's a new challenge on Simply Create Too and we have welcomed a few more Design Team members too and we can now truly say that we are an International Team!  The theme this fortnight is a nice and easy one:

Anything Goes

And here is mine!  I don't usually do girlie but sometimes its just screaming to get out of me!!  I've used a Jellypark image - Dancing Fairy and she's been coloured with Promarkers and stickles on her wings.  If you've not yet joined the Jellypark Club then hurry before you miss the current (very cute!) freebie that you get!  Its free to join but you'll get a lot in return!

I've used Funky Hand papers from Wishes and Kisses cd that have been left over from previous projects plus a Martha Stewart punch and some offcuts of ribbon and embroidery thread from my stash plus some tiny half pearls.

Good luck with the challenge!
