Elephantly

Sometimes you just need a Cuddly Critter to get the message across! Elephant from Dr Digi was perfect for the job in hand (along with some artistic licence!) - to wish a well liked work colleague good luck as she leaves for pastures new.

Image has been coloured with Promarkers plus glossy accents on the eyes.  I hand wrote and drew the banner using kebab sticks to hold it up.  A Clearly Besotted grass die was also used after I coloured scraps of card with Promarkers.

Sky was created using Aquamarkers and I've used a Memory Box die for the clouds.

Just Hello

A real cute stamp this month - the stamp Prickles Says Hello is From The Heart Digi Stamps and is the June progressive challenge freebie.

I've coloured it with Promarkers and lightly inked the background.  All papers are scraps from my stash with a little clever joining and ribbon adding!  Charm is also from my stash.

Pom Poms and Pillow Boxes

For something a little different - Pom Poms and Pillow Boxes!  I've made a pillow box with papers from Now That's Funky - Funky Diva papers and for the first time ever, I got the scores in the right place and the ends simply snapped shut!

I've added a little opener as well to each side by using a little circle die cut - you just can't see it on the photo.  And for added glam I made some pom poms - not made these since I was a kid and was great fun - the boys were in awe!

Made the pom pom templates with off cuts of card, used my Nesties and then wound the wool and embroidery thread around them.  The wool was a perfect match - £1 for a big ball in the poundshop!

Quacking Birthday

Sometimes you need a great bright card to wish someone a Happy Birthday plus a Dr Digi image of course!  Scaredy Duck is one image to use and it's available in the store!

I've used Promarkers to colour the image plus a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the 'water', Memory Box die for the clouds and a Clearly Besotted grass die.  Sign is handmade and handwritten.  All papers were scraps!

Special Teacher

A quick random selection of papers from Funky Hand -  Now That's Funky - Sweetie Pie collection.  I've printed some of the papers as A5 and also used some of the sentiment backers plus a sprinkling of co-ordinating card candy.  Dies are X Cut and I've mixed up the sizes.

Nice and simple and rather practical!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 83 - Vintage

There is a new Crimbo Crackers challenge that started today - the theme for the fortnight is:

Vintage

I've used a cute Lily of The Valley pre coloured image and added a little dash of glitter plus edged the image with it.  The die cut frame is a Spellbinder die and I found some deep red card in my stash that matched the Dovecraft 'Noel' 4.5 x 6.5 papers.

Charm and ribbon are from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!

A Special Shoe

Sometimes I have an idea. And then I let it swirl around. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for a few days. And sometimes for a few weeks. This was one of those ideas.

The brief was to make something special for a work colleague for his wife's 50th Birthday.  I'd been given a list of likes and because I knew her as well I decided to combine it with her bright and funky personality.

So enter Now That's Funky and the Lollipop paper collection from Funky Hand - plus the cd is only £1!!

Everything I've made is from my own templates which I've hand cut with some inspiration from Pinterest here and there. Plus some half pearls and lots of half glass diamonds for bling plus two die cut sentiments using Clearly Besotted dies.

I was given a verse to use which I printed onto a medium scallop Sizzix tag and then cut a larger size so that a message could be handwritten onto it.  This fitted beautifully into the shoe!  More luck than planning!

The shoe was actually quite easy to make once I'd got my head around what I needed to do and how it would glue together.  I reinforced the heel just in case and the sole of the shoe has the same papers as inside the box.

It created quite a bit of a stir in the office when I brought it in to hand over.  And the recipient loved it!

Splash-tastic!

A quick card from me today! I entered the Dee Dee's Progressive Monthly challenge in May and got sent this image for free -  I've printed directly onto the cardstock and also added one of the sentiments that came with the bundle.

I've used Promarkers to colour plus a little glitter glue and I've used Memory Box wave die cuts and finished it off with some ribbon from my stash.

Great image - looking forward to July's image!

An old classic - the Ford Popular and convenient timing just for Father's Day!  See what I did there with the 'pop' bit?!  You too can amuse your creative talents with the digi from the Dr Digi store and it won't break the bank at only £1!  I've printed it directly onto kraft card so nice and easy to use!

I've used Funky Hand papers - Royal Flush collection from Now That's Funky and used a frame that I found in my stash (dread to think how long I've had it!), added some half pearls, faux stitching and a Clearly Besotted die cut.

Super Hero Teachers

I'm trying to get organised and have made an early start on making the boys' teacher thank you cards.  Samuel leaves for High School (where did the time go?!) and Jacob will be moving to year 5 in September.  Between them, I've been asked to make 10 cards for various teachers and here is the first one.

I've used a Tiddly Inks image - Teacher - and the sentiment is from the Kid's and Teacher's Quotes set.  I've printed directly onto the cardstock and coloured with Promarkers.

The tag has been cut with a Sizzix die and the bakers twine and silver apple charm are from my stash.

Just 9 more to make now!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

For Dad - Coffee With Pals

A quick and easy card from me using papers from Now That's Funky cd from Funky Hand - Coffee With Pals section.  Papers have been printed as A5 for a smaller pattern and I've used moustache die cuts - Memory Box, plus ribbon from my stash along with brown card for layering.

The DAD letters I had to cobble together from other letters as I didn't have any d's left!  Coloured with Promarkers and then inked - I found a pack of these in my stash which I must have bought from ebay a long, long time ago before I had a die cutting machine!

Nothing too fancy but easy to make!

Simply Create Too - Challenge 87 - Masculine

We're part way through the current Simply Create Too challenge and the theme (you have a week left!) is:

Masculine

I've used papers I found in my stash and teamed them with a fab topper from Cardmakers Delights - just £1.20 for 8!  A bit of faux stitching and recycling a piece of elastic from a clothes tag, and the card is complete!

Simple But Effective

A nice and quick card from me today using Royal Flush paper collection from Now That's Funky which is the cd of the month at Funky Hand!

The kraft card blank works so well with this collection and I've made a little paper bow (my own template) and added a half pearl to the centre.  I've used the negative part of a die cut from Clearly Besotted and I've carefully added the little bits so you can make out the letters better.

Weekend Walter

Not a pretty sight, but at least the furry monster slippers match the cuppa. And as Father's Day is rapidly approaching, Weekend Walter from Dr Digi is the perfect image to that perfect guy.

Coloured with Promarkers and added to the offcut of card with foam pads - sentiment die is from Clearly Besotted.

Pretend Washi Tape

Great image to use - Party Hat Birdbrain from From The Heart Digi Stamps, which I've coloured with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the eyes.

I've made my own washi tape by adding sellotape over the top of some paper scraps and randomly cutting the edges!  Patterned paper is also a scrap and from my never ending box of bits.  Wooden stars and waxed string are from my stash (previously ebay purchase!)

And finally, a faux running stitch with a black fineliner pen has been added around the edges of the card, image and layered paper.

Getting Ahead!

I do like to be organised and ahead of myself because when I leave something to the last moment, something usually happens and my schedule goes out of the window!  I like to work from lists and this is a card I've been asked to make for a little girl's birthday which is not until December!

Image and sentiment are both from Jellypark - they are not in the new store, but if you drop Jellypark an email, I'm sure a custom listing can be arranged!  I've used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour along with glitter glue on the dress.

Papers are Dovecraft 6x6 Tea House pad - I had to do some creative joining as the paper wasn't big enough to cover all the card!  Blue and pink cardstock is from my stash along with the half pearls.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 82 - Buttons

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Buttons

Don't forget that your entry must be Christmas or Festive related and also follow the given theme.  I've created the card below by printing a Polkadoodles sentiment directly onto the cardstock (Christmas Hollibobs download)

I've then raided my stash for the buttons and pearls and created a Christmas tree shape.  Nice and easy to make!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to Crimbo Crakers!

Mini Cooper

Sometimes its the small things that make us smile. Mini Coopers do that.  And nice and simple cards that just happen to fall together.  I'd like to think by magic, but it's probably more luck and good fortune!

Image is from Dr Digi and I've coloured it with Promarkers.  The frame is one I found in my stash and the stars are from ebay.  The image is actually mounted on a piece of acetate although you can't really tell!
