Simply Create Too Challenge 20 - Back To School

We have a new challenge starting over at Simply Create Too and although the kids in the UK have a few more weeks left of their summer break, the challenge theme this fortnight is:

Back To School

This is actually a graduation card that I was asked to make - Clair who graduated as a teacher actually looks like the Charmed Cards and Crafts digi which I've coloured with Promarkers!  I've had the Holly and Madison set of digi's for ages and I really should use them more!

I've used an acetate base for something a little different and added a blackboard type message underneath the Tiddly Inks blackboard.  Bunting I made and tied on with embroidery thread.  Gold star is table confetti (but rather chunky!) which I've had for ages.

And by all accounts, Clair loved the card!  Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Penny's Paper Crafty:  Back To School
Use It Tuesday's:  All About School (star and images are horded supplies)
365 Day Cards:  Day 166 - Squared
Daisy Doodles:  Back To School
Eureka Stamps:  Back To School
The Pink Elephant:  Back To School
There She Goes Stamps:  Back To School

Feeling Pants?

Despite being a card maker (and having lots of the finished products!) I am useless at being organised enough to send cards for certain occasions. This is for a very lovely person who is recovering from planned surgery (I even knew about it and still am late!) and it will be in the post tomorrow!

Papers are from the very new Happy Happy Birthday cd from Funky Hand and the image is from Charmed Cards and Crafts - I've added the sentiment myself. Cut out with a Nestie and coloured with Promarkers plus stickles.

I've added a faux running stitch around the edge of the shape and finished the card off with a strip (just long enough!) of green grossgrain plus some red and white embroidery thread (the new bakers twine - I'm telling ya!!) tied in a bow.

Now I'm looking at the card thinking it looks a bit Christmassy....

Hope you like it Claire and GET WELL SOON!!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Inspirational Card Sketches: Sketch followed
Ruby's Rainbow: For the Girls
Party Time Tuesday's: Ribbon, Trim and Fibres
Ribbon Carousel: Funny or Punny
Sweet Stamps: Stitches - Real or Faux

  • Papers: Happy Happy Birthday from Funky Hand
  • Image: Charmed Cards and Crafts, coloured with Promarkers and stickles
  • Sentiment: Computer generated
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities
  • Everything else: My stash

Polkadoodle Challenge 22 - Stash Box Stamps & Secret Message

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! Due to problems with Internet Explorer and Blogger last week (and this!) and not being able to leave comments, the blog hop with candy which was due to end on Sunday has been extended for another week! So to be in with a chance to win some great prizes, click HERE to be taken to the Polkadoodle blog where you need to start. My post from last week can be found HERE which is where comments need to be left to be in with a chance to win my Polkadoodle candy! Good luck!

This week the Design Team are challenged to use Polkadoodle products alongside their stash hence the Stashbox Stamp challenge! Our challenge to you is to add:

Something Secret

This could be a reveal message or a hidden element - something that will be a surprise to the recipient!

I've used the A5 DIY toolbox template from Paper Boutique Vol 3. I cut all the elements out and layered them up (you get front and back for the tools) plus I've added a pre-coloured Handyman George image from Charmed Cards and Crafts.

And my reveal message is:

Good luck with the challenge! It is open until 12noon GMT on Sunday 12 June.

My creation also fits the following challenges:

Lexi's Creations: Father's Day / Man's Card

Karen's Doodles: Father's Day

Sweet Stamps: Masculine

Simon Says: Father's Day / For A Male

  • Toolbox kit: Paper Boutique Vol 3

Pretty Holly

I don't know why I don't stamp this wonderful image from Charmed Cards and Crafts more often as it is so lovely to colour! I've coloured her with Promarkers plus some stickles.

The paper is from Polkadoodles - Sundae of Seasons cd and I've used two of my Nesties dies to create the frame that she is sat on. A bit of faux stitching around the edges plus I've added some thin green satin ribbon and tied it in a bow over the top of the frame.

This fits the following challenges:

Sparkles Christmas Challenge: Holly or Ivy
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge: Use Ribbon
Allsorts: Things With Wings
Crafty Purple Frog Challenge: Things of Beauty

  • Image: Charmed Cards and Crafts, coloured with Promarkers and Stickles
  • Papers: Sundae of Seasons from Polkadoodles
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities
  • Everything else: My stash

Christmas Ribbon and Random Bits

I've had this image stamped for ages and after a mega tidy up a few weeks ago I decided to get it coloured! And when I saw the sketch for the Sweet Stampin challenge, I thought it fitted perfectly!

The stamp is from Charmed Cards and is Rosebud Pixie which I won ages ago. She's been coloured with Promarkers and I've added some stickles to her wings.

Papers are from Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons cd which I've just inked around the edges and doodled two wavy lines with a blue gel pen. The silvery white ribbon is actually Christmas ribbon which I bought for 25p a pack in B&Q during the January sales (Jacob actually spotted it - he's got such a good eye for these things!) and the large blue ric rac type is a generous donation from Alex and from Ikea originally.

The flowers are from my stash - I've layered them up for a bit more interest and the dragonfly brads are too (and the wing shape is echoed with Rosebud Pixies' wings!) And the plain brads I found in my stash.

  • Everything else: My stash or previously donated

Christmas Red

I found the perfect excuse to use this beautiful Charmed Cards and Crafts acrylic stamp as their current challenge is:

Anything Goes but with Red

So here it is! I've taken inspiration from the card sample shown for this particular stamp - so thank you! And its another card ticked off the order list too! I've coloured her with Promarkers and added some glitter glue. She sits on a frame made from my Nesties and I've raised her up a little with foam pads.

The paper is from Kirsty Wiseman's Patti Picklicious cd with layers from the same cardstock as the card base. I've added some thin satin ribbon in the background as a complement to the colours and the sentiment is computer generated and layered onto an offcut of the same backing card.

Better go and crack on with the other orders - no rest for the wicked!
