Spotty Christmas

Here is another card I've made with papers and quick topper from the brand new Magical Winter double cd from Polkadoodles. It's due to be launched on 5 July on Create and Craft (Sky 671) but you can pre order both cd1 and cd2 in a special multi deal saver and the best bit is - no minimum order on the Polkadoodles website and free shipping worldwide!

All the papers and the topper are from the cd's and there are lots of other quick and easy toppers just like this one - great for making cards with the kids!

I've followed the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch:
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenges: Anything Goes
Ladybug Crafts: Christmas In June - plus blog hop (see below!)

More Peas On Earth

A quick card with a great image! I do like this Peas On Earth from Whimsie Doodles and it makes me smile every time! I've added papers from Funky Hand and doodled some lines around the outers I've coloured the image with Promarkers plus a bit of glitter glue for the hats. The glittery star is from Tesco's and I think a few years ago as part of their Christmas range. Buttons are from my stash. I've used the Sweet Stop Sketch for inspiration:

And it also fits the following challenges:

Bah Humbug: For A Teenager
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge: Buttons

And if you've not already popped over to the Fetch A Sketch pre launch party - please do so! Some candy on offer to two lucky commenters plus some extra prizes along the way! The Fetch A Sketch challenges launch on Monday 27 June at 9am!

Blue Snowboy

Just when you thought it was safe as I'd not blogged a Christmas related item for a few days!! I just can't keep away, plus I need to make at least 12 cards a month to reach my target and I am determined I am going to do it!

I've used papers from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas from Polkadoodles, added a dotted line around the edge of the paper with liquid pearls, a faux running stitch with a silver gel pen around the edge of the card and also just inside the liquid pearls. I've used my Nesties for the shaping and again added liquid pearls and a silver running stitch.

The image is an old one from Dustin Pike and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus glossy accents on the buttons of coal and top hat. The ribbon is from my stash along with the silver snowflakd (Matalan Christmas decoration) and the looks-great-and-a-good-idea-to-use pearlescent icicles are also a previous Christmas decoration. They are a right faff to get to stick as they want to twist but I think I eventually managed it!

I've used the sketch from The Sweet Stop for inspiration:

And the card fits the following challenges too:

Dustin Pike's Challenge: It's A Boy Thing
Jingle Belles Rock Challenge: Let It Sew
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge: Wintertime Blues
Sparkles Christmas Challenge: Snowmen

Retro Christmas

In an attempt to use up some of the scraps I already have lying around (well, actually they are in clear folders labelled with the collection / download name...!!) I've made this card for the Jingle Belles challenge which is:

Use Three Different Patterned Papers

You can just see the third paper inside the aperture - on the left and right. I've used papers from Funky Hand - All I Want For Xmas download including the sentiment.

I've inked edges and added a faux running stitch line around the red spotty card. The aperture has been cut with a Nesties die. The red suede ribbon came from a fancy gift tag that I've recycled - would seem rude not to as it was too lovely to throw away!

The card also qualifies for the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge
: Use Ribbon
Card Makin' Mama's: Use Your Scraps
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long: Die Cuts
Stamp Something: Use a Sentiment

Pretty Holly

I don't know why I don't stamp this wonderful image from Charmed Cards and Crafts more often as it is so lovely to colour! I've coloured her with Promarkers plus some stickles.

The paper is from Polkadoodles - Sundae of Seasons cd and I've used two of my Nesties dies to create the frame that she is sat on. A bit of faux stitching around the edges plus I've added some thin green satin ribbon and tied it in a bow over the top of the frame.

This fits the following challenges:

Sparkles Christmas Challenge: Holly or Ivy
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge: Use Ribbon
Allsorts: Things With Wings
Crafty Purple Frog Challenge: Things of Beauty

  • Image: Charmed Cards and Crafts, coloured with Promarkers and Stickles

Holly Wreath

A quick post from me today (if I get myself organised enough, there may be another post later on!) which is for the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge and the theme this week is:
Christmas Foliage and / or Flowers
I've used the decoupaged holly wreath from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2 which is all Christmas related. The images have been printed A5 pre coloured and then I've simply cut them out and layered up with foam pads. You'll have to excuse the rather odd shine on the bow of the ribbon - I added the glossy accents when it was going dark and I should have put the light on so I could see what I was doing. When I realised it was a bit patchy, I added more, hence the mottled look! At least I know for future reference!

Slightly Sozzled Santa

I suppose I am a bit of an impulse buyer, especially when something is a bargain as I know I will use it at some point, one day! And the Santa on this card is just this! It's a die-cut decoupage image that I bought from my local craft shop a while ago for a bargain. The bits were easy to pop out and I've layered it with foam pads.

So, as I'd actually made the image and it was simply hanging around, it needed to be used. So when I saw the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas challenge for this week - its a perfect fit! The theme is

Santa

And I've used the very lovely Jingle Belles sketch from their last challenge (I got an honourable mention - who-hoooo!) I couldn't lay my hands on any suitable backing paper so decided to weave some embossed (snowflakes and swiss dots) strips of off-cut white card as the background. The tiny fairy lights I've had for donkeys in my stash but never really used them, and I've secured them with a brad and a dab of glue. Santa does look rather sozzled!!

I'm feeling rather rough at the moment - got a cold from hell which I thought was flu on Monday but I'm still moving (just) and I'm not too bad as long as I don't start sneezing or thinking about it. And I look like Rudolf. Great.

White Mum and Dad at Christmas

I found another Christmas challenge blog! Well, to be more exact, the blog found me (thank you for the link!) And as I am generally a one-challenge-one-card kinda gal, I've had a look through the photos of cards that I have not yet blogged, and came across this one which was made for Christmas 2010.

The Christmas challenge blog is Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge and the very first challenge is:

Anything Goes (Christmas Only)

This is a wordbook made from the lengths of A4 white card which have been embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder. The letters have been printed using Wordart and the pearlescent snowflakes and seed beads are from my stash.

The ribbon is from Tesco's 2010 Christmas range and the silver (looks black in the photo!) snowflake is from Matalan's 2009 Christmas range. I do like a bargain in the sales especially when I can use them on cards!

This is a big wordbook which won't fit a normal DL envelope but you can get wordbook sized envelopes from Funky Hand!

At this rate with all the Christmas challenge sites, I will be well and truly ready for Christmas! And probably by August!
