Crimbo Crackers Challenge 161 - Anything Goes

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme, as always is

Anything Goes

This week, I'm sponsored by Dr Digi and the prize is two single images of the winners choice from the store.  I've used Snowman (who won't break the bank at just 50p!) and coloured it up with Promarkers.  Papers are random offcuts I found in my stash and the ribbon, half pearls and wooden snowflake are also all from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Christmas at Sweet Stampin:  Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers:  Anything Goes / Option for a Boy
A Snowflakes Promise:  Anything Goes
The Holly and the Ivy:  Anything Goes Christmas

The Peril of Yellow Snow

Basically, never trust snow that is yellow.  And what ever you do, never eat it.  Recycling at its best - last year's Christmas card with an added Dr Digi Snowman.  Coloured with Promarkers and a smidge of glossy accents.

Probably the quickest Christmas card I've ever made!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge:  Anything Goes
The Glory of Christmas:  Glitter and Shine
Crazy 4 Challenges:  Christmas
Winter Wonderland:  Anything Christmas

For The Birds

I'm making an early start on Christmas cards for next year!  I've used the For The Birds digi which is the free December image from the progressive monthly challenge at From The Heart digital stamps.  I've used my circle Nesties to cut him out (just about got the sizing right!) and then the lacy circles layered behind.

I've gone for an ice blue and chocolate brown colour scheme and found matching papers in my stash (Polkadoodles) plus a freebie tag from Cuddly Buddly.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and stickles and added a dotted line around the edge with a blue gel pen to finish.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I Heart Card Sketches:  Sketch Followed
From The Heart Stamps:  Monthly Progressive Challenge
Allsorts:  Brown and Blue
Crafty Calendar:  Cold and Frosty
Cut It Up:  Christmas and Die Cuts
Pattie's Creations:  Snowy Scene with the image

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It's turing frosty, there is a nip in the air and I hardly see daylight! And if you fancy treating yourself (just in case no-one else does!) then head over to the Dr Digi store and grab this digi snowman for only 50p!

And you too will be grinning like he is!

I've coloured my Dr Digi image with Promarkers and used a background from CraftsUPrint plus some grey embroidery thread and a snowflake charm. Rather quick and easy to make!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Everybody Art: Winter
LEJ Designs: Christmas is Coming
Artistic Inspirations: Winter Wonderland
Created With Love Challenges: Christmas
Digi Makeover: Snow Fun

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 43 - Make Me Laugh

It's Thursday so time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge! I'm sponsored by the fab Dr Digi and he's offering the winner a digi of their choice from the store!  The challenge theme is:

Make Me Laugh

As I could not resist writing the sentiment to go with this snowman.....!  The image is from the Dr Digi store (and only 50p too!)  I've printed him directly onto the cardstock and then lightly coloured with Promarkers.  I made the paw prints in the snow and handwrote the sentiment.

The silver chipboard snowflake is from a pack I bought a few years ago in the sale at Matalan (I knew I should have bought all of them!) which are slowly running out so I try and hide them at the back of the drawer so I don't see them!  The silver string I think is from some gift wrapping.

So there you have it!  Go on - make me laugh!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenges:  K for Kept Safe (Silver Snowflake)
Clear It Out:  Male and Metal (Silver count as metal?!)
Shopping Our Stash:  No Patterned Paper
Lady Annes Challenge:  The Great Outdoors

Image:  Dr Digi, coloured with Promarkers
Sentiment:  Handwritten
Snowflake:  Matalan
Silver String:  My stash

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 33 - Midway Extra

It's time for the Midway Extra part to the current Fetch A Sketch challenge.  And as a reminder here is the current sketch:
You can make anything you like for the challenge as long as the sketch is followed - plus you can twist it, flip it - but we do need to see the sketch in your creation!

I've used papers from The Clip Art Fairy - Beautiful Baby Boy papers plus added some stickles around the edges and on the corners of the X Cut stars too.  I've used a circle Nestie for the image shape and the cute snowman is from Jellypark which was a past freebie so I'm not sure if it is still available.

I've coloured the snowman with Promarkers and added some silver snowflake confetti to finish off the sketch.

Hope you can join us - for more details, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

No Matter Which Challenges:  Die Cuts and Punches

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 21 - Tall and Thin

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme this fortnight is;

Tall and Thin

The sponsor for the challenge is Limited Runs and Nikki is offering the winner three digi's from her store!

I've got some really thin Christmas envelopes as I bought a pack of cards in the January sales for 30p only because I liked the envelopes and now I need to use them up!  So this is the reason behind the challenge theme!  Plus it makes me use up all the offcuts of card when I cut down an A4 sheet.

To give you an idea of scale, the card is around 6cm wide!  I've used a Limited Runs image - Stacked Snowmen and I've coloured them with Promarkers.  The snowflakes at the top of the card (the top part of the card is the actual join rather than down the side) have been made with Marianne Creatables Snowflakes dies with half pearls added to the centre and some organza ribbon.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following:

Anything Goes Challenges:  Let's Not Be Square
Clear It Out:  Christmas in July
Die Cuttin' Diva's:  Anything Goes
The Ribbon Carousel:  Christmas In July
Lexi's Creations:  Christmas In July
Cutie Pie Challenge:  Christmas In July

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 25 - Midway Extra

It's time for the Midway Extra over on Fetch A Sketch.  We have two sponsors this fortnight - Jellypark and Funky Hand and for more details on the prizes pop over to Fetch A Sketch.  To have a browse in the online stores just click on the banners below:

And here is a reminder of the sketch:

I've used Funky Hand papers from Twelve Crafters Crafting plus one of the banners from Jellypark plus the snowman.  I've paper pieced the banner and layered it onto an offcut of printed card and then added the embroidery thread bows at the ends.  You can't quite see it, but I've also added some stickles around the edges of the banner.

If you like a sale then quickly go over to Jellypark - Claire is having a sale over the Jubilee Weekend - all digi stamps are only 60p!!  BE QUICK!!

The snowman has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used my fab X Cut dies for the shapes behind him plus three sparkly snowflakes that Jenny sent me ages ago (thank you!)

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the challenge blog.

Jellypark Challenge 15 - Winter Wonderland

It's Jellypark challenge time! And its a great theme for this fortnight too:

Winter Wonderland

It's turned cold here, up North, and we had a rather heavy hail shower last night! I've used this cute snowman image which is a freebie on the Jellypark website - just click here to go and snag it!

I've coloured it with Promarkers and used papers from Dreams Come True cd from Funky Hand. I am desperately trying to use up all my oddments but I think it will be a case of the bit of card is too small to be used and I just need a clear out which, I think (and hope!) will solve the problem of the overflowing shoe box!

The starry tinsel down the side was a bargain purchase from Poundstretchers - 49p for around 3 metres and I bought it pre-sale too! The snowflake is a tree decoration from Tesco - 3 for 50p - looks great but the glitter sure gets everywhere!

I've added some fake brads to the top right corner - Promarker with glossy accents over the top.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and how to enter, and also the rules, please pop over to the challenge blog.

I've got two new release digi stamps from Jellypark to show you over the next day or so but bear with me - I've got a rather hectic weekend with the boys karting and I don't know what day I'm on already!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sassy Studios: Christmas / Holiday - Use Up Your Scraps
Crafting for All Seasons: Blue and White
Little Red Wagon: Winter Wonderland
Sisterhood of Crafters: Striped Paper
Whimsy Inspirations: Pearls or Bling (bling - snowflake)

  • Image: Jellypark freebie, coloured with Promarkers

Jellypark Challenge 7 - Pink & Ribbon

It's Friday!! The weekend is nearly here and its time for another Jellypark challenge! The theme of the challenge for the next two weeks, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness throughout October is:

Pink and Ribbon

I just could not resist using this cute freebie snowman that Claire drew (find him on the challenge blog) except that he is not a he but a she! I've used some angel hair type of paper that Lynsey gave me (thank you!) as I thought it made a wonderful frosty looking backdrop!

I've made the scalloped edges by punching lots of hearts and adding them just so that the round bit shows. Really easy to do but you just have to watch your spacing! Snowlady has been coloured with Promarkers plus I've added glitter glue around the edge of the image and also the card.

Brads hold the backing to the card blank (along with any seeped glitter glue!) and I found a decent length of pink ribbon to finish it off.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details on how to enter and to see the rest of the Design Team's take on the challenge, pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark - Challenge 1 & Freebie!

The day is finally here! The very first Jellypark challenge and what a fab challenge we have for you! You need to pop over to the challenge blog to snag the very cute snowman that Claire has designed and to enter the challenge! You don't need to use the snowman to enter the challenge, but it's so cute - how can you resist?!

I've used him (he is a him - for this card at least!) on my card which I think looks a bit like a giant snowball! He's been coloured with Promarkers and added to the card with foam pads. All the papers are from Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 paper stack and I've dotted the edges with liquid pearls (becoming a bit of an obsession!)

I've added some wonderfully co-ordinated shiny parcel ribbon (bought from the Poundshop last year) to hide the paper joins, added some very fluffy (and gets everywhere!) silver stringy stuff and attached it with brads. I wasn't going to attempt glue as it would get messy and I've not got the patience for it to dry! To finish, I've added two silver confetti snowflakes.

Hope you can enter the challenge - it runs for two weeks. For more details and to see the rest of the Design Teams creations, please go to the challenge blog! Good luck!

And if that's not enough, there are some new release digi stamps over in the Jellypark shop. I'll be blogging what I've made with them over the next day or so, but lets say that they are very cute, very easy to work with and a very good price!

The female version will be blogged later today so watch out for her!

My card qualifies for the following challenges:

Digi Stamps 4 Joy: Christmas in July
Celebrate the Occasion: Shaped Christmas Card
Scrap Creations: At Least 2 Papers and 2 Embellishments

  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers: Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 stack
  • Everything else: My stash
