Invitations

One of my oldest friends (she's not that old just that we've known each other since we were 13!) is turning 40 mid August and asked me to make her Garden Party invitations with a purple / lilac and pink theme.

So here are two of them! I made 22 in total.  I hand cut the banners and they have been edged with stickles which you can just about make out.  I added emboridery thread bows to the ends - two shades of pink and two shades of lilac as I didn't have enough of one single colour.

I've printed the sentiment on the pc and added a pink half pearl plus faux stitching around the main panel.  I had to keep the card as flat as I can for posting as any bulky embellishments and it costs almost twice more to send!

The main panel is Rainbow Polkadots download from Funky Hand and the purple was in my stash so not got a clue where it came from!

Polkadoodle Challenge 30 - Envelope & Theme

It's Friday again so it's another Polkadoodle challenge! The weeks really are gathering pace and before you know it 2010 will be here!

But before I show you my sample for this weeks challenge, the Polkadoodle DT has expanded and I'd like to welcome

This week Nikky has set the Design Team the challenge of making a card with an envelope on the front and the theme of New Year!



And this is what I made:

I've printed onto both sides of a sheet of quality A4 paper using Back To Nature and made an envelope by folding it up and gluing the joins. The alphies are also from the cd (I do like these!)


And inside, you pull out an acetate invitation to a New Year's Eve Party!

The house image is also on the cd and I've left a margin around the edges when cutting and added a little glitter glue too.

I've used a black Sharpie pen to write on the acetate and as long as you leave it to dry, you won't have any problems.

No rest for the wicked!

Had quite a productive weekend! In between swimming lessons, parties and yellow belt Karate gradings! That's the boys - not me!

Despite having ideas for Funky Hand cards and really needing to turn them into reality, I'm trying to get some commissions completed so I won't feel guilty. I've got two cards currently on the go, so no pictures of them yet as I prefer to share when completed. But I have made the following this weekend:

The celebration bottle is for a male - fortunately I had some fab black and white stripy grosgrain ribbon so it doesn't look too girly!

And also made 24 of these:

18th Birthday Party Invitations for my hairdressers son. He's into rock climbing and they wanted something to reflect that. Also done all the wording inside - which is attached as an insert in the same font as the sentiment on the front.
