Polkadoodle Challenge 47 - 'Twas The Night Before Christmas

It's Friday again so time for another Polkadoodle challenge! Brenda set this week's challenge prior to her stepping down from the Design Team and it is to draw inspiration from

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

I've used the gift shaped card from Paper Boutique Vol 2 - Creative Christmas plus a bit of glitter glue here and there. This is a really quick card to make as it is made up of chunky shapes that you cut out and layer up but it looks really effective too!

And if you look you can see the little mouse! He's taken from Back to Nature and I've reduced his size somewhat so I could fit him on the card!

I'm giving away as part of the blog candy hop a copy of Creative Christmas - click HERE for the post - you have until Sunday 28 November to enter so be quick!

Caught A Bug

This is a new challenge blog for me - Passion for Promarkers, but seeing as I have 4 packs of the pens (with more planned!) I can hardly resist the challenges can I?!

The current challenge is:

In The Garden

I've coloured an image from Bugaboo with my Promarkers and added wobbly eyes to the little ladybird in the jar. All the backing papers are from Back to Nature from Polkadoodles and the ribbon was kindly donated to me some time ago!

A quick and simple card, and yes, I do think that the main image is a little wonky....!

Pirate Treasure!

I do like simple and easy sketches to follow and the current challenge from Inktegrity is this sketch:

I've used printed elements from a sheet I bought from CraftsUPrint - the other elements are on another card that I will blog today! Basically the pirate, map and treasure chest are digital images, pre coloured, cut out and added to the card, along with some gold stars and doodling.

The backing paper is from Back To Nature cd from Polkadoodles - its not a plain colour but slightly mottled which makes it a little more interesting! The card will be personalised when I decide who it is being sent to!

Caught a Bug?

I found this lovely cute image when blog hopping last week - it is a freebie from the Digi Stamp Boutique and I've coloured it with watercolour pencils, felt tips and a little glitter glue (on the wings) and I've made the card for the current Creative Card Crew challenge which is:

Get Well Soon

I've used a selection of papers all from my leftovers box - the main green one is from Back to Nature from Polkadoodles, then the next layer is from Stamping Dragon Designs and then finally the red spotty one is from Patti Picklicious by Kirsty Wiseman. I've simply rounded and added a bit of doodling around the edges (and some inking - of course!)

The ribbon is from my stash and it was just long enough luckily as I didn't have any more!

Moooving!

One of my fellow Polkadoodler Design Team mates, Brenda, is hosting a fantastic blog hop (on until Saturday!) and also a challenge on behalf of Sir Stampalot to celebrate their move to bigger and better premises! And the prize for the winner is the best ever!

Anyway, the theme for the challenge is:

Moving

And here is mine! It's a double sided cow from Back To Nature by Polkadoodles which I've printed as A4, cut out and added the rear. The fence has also been printed out as A4 and stuck together - both are held to the side of the card by acetate.

The sentiment backer is from the cd and I've used Chestnut whispers ink to stamp the lettering (Studio G alphabet set).

So, my card has a moooving theme (geddit?!) and it also moves!

Monster Birthday

A quick and simple card for Lexi's Challenge current challenge which is:

One For The Boys - Blue and Green

The monster is a 3d sticker from a pack that I bought from the pound shop ages ago. It's been layered onto a scrap of blue card and then added to blue and green printed digi papers from Back To Nature from Polkadoodles.

I've rounded some edges, inked them and then doodled a line around plus I've hand written the sentiment (as you can tell - I was surprised I got it central!) The buttons are from my stash.

I've got loads of these monster stickers and I like the layout of this, so probably will get to use them more often now!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 3 - Sketch

It's Friday again and another Polkadoodle challenge! This week Nikky has given the Design Team this sketch and we were able to use any Polkadoodle product!

I've used Back To Nature stackie flowers which I've cut out and then curled the petals, either inwards or outwards and then layered some of them.

I've also added buttons from my stash to the centres and curled some wire for added interest. The black organza ribbon is also from my stash.

Remember that you can combine your entry with upto 10 other challenges including the Polkadoodle entry and you can use any product you wish (although we would like to see Polkadoodle products if you have any!) and you also need to follow the brief for the week - for more details go to the Polkadoodle Challenge!
Good luck and you have until Sunday 31 January at 12noon GMT to enter!

Thanks Sow Much!

The current Bee Crafty challenge is:

Thank You

And I've made this interactive card using the Back To Nature cd from Polkadoodles. All the elements on the card are from the cd - basically you just print off the ones you want and cut out the pig and fence and that is it!

I've attached the double sided pig with an acetate strip so it boings around! The fence is also double sided but that is simply attached to the side of the card to allow it to move.

I've layered the sentiment using two toppers and have handwritten the message. I've also used liquid peals on some of the flower centres.

And there you have it - a fun thank you card!

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 1 - Song Title

Welcome back to the Polkadoodle Challenges! Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year! For the first challenge of 2010 we are asking you to make a card, layout or anything you want as long as it has a song title in it!

We would like you to use Polkadoodle products, however if you've not got any then it's fine - use what ever stash you have, but this is your chance to win some!! Each week, the lucky winner gets something from the Polkadoodle range and the top three also get little blinkies to wear with pride on their blogs!

The rules are simple - we ask you to follow the challenge for that particular week (it could be a sketch, theme etc) and not to combine it with more than 9 other challenges - so you can enter your creation into 10 challenges including Polkadoodles.

For my sample, I've used Back to Nature and the cow image. This is double sided - the moveable elements on the card each have a reverse so you can use them on an acetate card or as moveable elements.

I've cut out the cow and gate and stuck the two sides together, joining the sides onto acetate and sticking the around the side of the card so that the cow and gate 'open'. I've layered up some of the flowers to create a decoupage effect.

The round letters are also from Back to Nature. And my song title? Moving On (Up)! Ribbons are from my stash.

You have until Sunday 17 January a 12noon GMT to enter - good luck and we can't wait to see your creations!

Polkadoodle Challenge 31 - Free Theme

And it is Friday again, so time for another Polkadoodle Challenge! This week will be lasting until 28 December at 12noon GMT as we appreciate that things get a little busy this time of year, so this is the last challenge of 2009!

Nikky has asked the Design Team to make anything they like but to use the new cd Back To Nature. For my sample I've made these circle flowers - the printed templates are on the cd and you simply click and print which sizes and colours you want! I also printed on the reverse as I don't like seeing white card!

I've used the largest size, the next one down and the one down from that too - there are smaller ones but I didn't use them. For the larger flowers I've inked the edges once I'd cut them out. The flowers are made by pulling in the centre and attaching 3d foam pads at regular intervals where the two sides will meet.

Wooden beads hold the flower in place on the sticks (yes they are BBQ skewers from Tesco!) and also between the flower heads. Silver crafting wire has been curled and pops out of the top of the bead.

I glued the beads and wire in place otherwise it was all a little too delicate! For those eagle-eyed of you, these were part of the tv show where Nikky launched the cd - I made them especially for the show!

Really easy and quick to make once all the elements are cut out and there are lots of other colours on the cd too.
Remember you have until Sunday 28 December 2009 at 12noon GMT to enter this challenge and good luck!!

Polkadoodle Challenge 30 - Envelope & Theme

It's Friday again so it's another Polkadoodle challenge! The weeks really are gathering pace and before you know it 2010 will be here!

But before I show you my sample for this weeks challenge, the Polkadoodle DT has expanded and I'd like to welcome

To the team! Welcome ladies!

This week Nikky has set the Design Team the challenge of making a card with an envelope on the front and the theme of New Year!

And this is what I made:

I've printed onto both sides of a sheet of quality A4 paper using Back To Nature and made an envelope by folding it up and gluing the joins. The alphies are also from the cd (I do like these!)

And inside, you pull out an acetate invitation to a New Year's Eve Party!

The house image is also on the cd and I've left a margin around the edges when cutting and added a little glitter glue too.

I've used a black Sharpie pen to write on the acetate and as long as you leave it to dry, you won't have any problems.

You have until Sunday 20 December at 12noon GMT to enter the challenge - good luck and the Design Team can't wait to see what you've created!

Polkadoodle Challenge 29 - Sketch & Stamping

Once again it is Friday! So that can only mean another Polkadoodle Challenge!

Did you see Nikky yesterday on Create and Craft showing her new release cd - Back To Nature? I taped it as couldn't get it online at work but have only managed to watch the first 20 mins of the hour but the samples the DT made with the animals were wonderful! If you like a bit of humour with your cardmaking then this cd is certainly for you!

Now this weeks Polkadoodle challenge is the following scalloped edge sketch that has been divided into 9 sections via a grid. We were asked to stamp in at least half of the sections.I've used elements from the new cd Back to Nature - the little cute owls are part of a decoupage set which is really easy to use and layer up - the girly owl has been glittered a little.
The backing papers I have weaved strips together to form the grid and these papers are also from the new cd. I've used the Candy Doodles rubber stamps for the swirly bits and then my own doodling around the edges.

I've not added a sentiment as sometimes it is just nice to send a card for no particular reason!
Pop over to the challenge blog to see who won challenge 27 and to see the rest of the DT examples. You have until Sunday 13 December at 12noon GMT to enter. Good luck and we can't wait to see your creations!

Shaping Up

For some reason I managed to miss the first challenge over on Lexi's Challenges. Time is never plentiful on occasion!

Anyway, I was quite pleased with myself when I noticed the current challenge which is:

Shaped Cards

As I'd just completed making this for Nikky's appearance on Create and Craft this coming Thursday at 2pm where she will be showcasing her very brand new cd - Back To Nature. And here are some of the elements from the cd!

This is the first time I've made a shaped card like this and it only came about because of the images yelled at me to make them into this shape!

The little scene has been cut out along with the trees and little alphies and added to the background with 3d foam pads. And that is it! A fairly quick card to make (once I'd sorted out the folds and measurements!) and the new cd is fantastic - you really need to see the animals on it they are hilarious!!

Don't be surprised if you see more of these little houses on future new house cards as they are so sweet and detailed!
