I Love Promarkers - Challenge 441 - Dr Digi

It's Wednesday so time for a new I ❤ Promarkers challenge!  The theme this fortnight is

Male

And we are sponsored by Dr Digi and I've used Homebrew Herman, coloured him with Promarkers and used some of the random bits of printed papers I have in my stash (determined to get them used up!) plus some die cut letters to spell out the sentiment.

Good luck with the challenge!

Daring Card Makers - Embossing

It's my turn to host the current Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme that I've chosen is:

Embossing

I've used a Sizzix embossing folder as my background and then added various X Cut die stars and some tiny punched stars plus some circle die cuts, using up random bits of papers and kraft card from my stash plus some buttons and waxed cord, also from my stash.  The non-kraft papers are from a now retired Funky Hand download (and probably my all time favourite!) Boys and Girls.

I've handwritten the sentiment to finish.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

And to finish I've added a line around the letters and card base with a black fine liner pen.  Good luck with the challenge!

The tag is a Sizzix die cut and I've added another Sizzix die cut - noel, again cut with the silver card.  For more details on the challenge pop over to Crimbo Crackers - good luck!

Balls

A quick and easy but surprisingly effective card made using one of the Balls images from Dr Digi.  I used a letter template taken from a Funky Hand cd (no longer available) and used one of the papers from the Boys and Girls download again from Funky Hand and again, sadly, no longer available.

Edge the letters with a bit of sparkle and then coloured the balls with Promarkers and added onto acetate bunting.  Die cut sentiment is from Clearly Besotted (two dies) and the ribbon and twine are from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cards Und More:  Special Occasions
Going Grey With Scrap Creations:  Masculine
Inky Chicks:  Masculine
Try It On Tuesdays:  All About Him

From The Heart Stamps Sketch 149

It's time for a new FTHS sketch with a twist challenge!  I've used Birdbrain Balloon, coloured with Promarkers and cut him out with a fancy frame X Cut die.  I've also used an X Cut die for the stars.  Papers are from Funky Hand - Boys and Girls download however all Funky Hand products are now no longer available as Anice closed the store last year.

A little bit of faux stitching with a black fine liner pen and the card is complete!

The sketch along with the twist is below - you can use either the sketch or the twist or both but you must use a FTHS in your creation.

Good luck!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Lost In Space!

Can there be anything worse than leaving the sat nav at home when you're not totally sure where you are going and you have a rather unnerving terrible sense of direction? Not a good combination. And poor Saucer Head is Lost In Space!

There are way too many planets that just look the same. And all that space junk just sitting there makes navigation in a one-man (or one-alien) space machine a little tricky at the best of times.

And please don't ask Saucer Head to reverse park. The space machine makes a terrible grinding and scraping sound. Something to do with the mechanics not being in the right place. And why try and reverse when you can just drive straight in?

Saucer Head is available to buy from the wonderful world of Dr Digi.  I've coloured him with Promarkers and added an acetate 365degree all-the-way-around windscreen, which has been fixed by adding glossy accents to his eyes and then adding the acetate over the top.  Cruel I know, but it works!

The backing papers I have a feeling are also Lost In Space as they came from the Funky Fairy many moons ago and I can't even find a link to them.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Make My Monday:  Anything That Flies
Craft A Scene:  Ships In The Night (Space Ship and its always night in Space!)
Catch The Bug:  Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge:  F for Fantasy

Image:  Dr Digi, coloured with Promarkers

It's time for the Midway Extra post at Fetch A Sketch.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Ladybugs Craft Ink who are offering a £10 gift certificate for the store.
And a reminder of Jenny's sketch:

And here is my sample!  I've used Beer Belly Man digi and coloured him with Promarkers.  The papers are from a retired Funky Hand collection called Boys and Girls, plus a sentiment stamp I found in my stash and some X Cut stars.

A little bit of inking here and there and the card is complete!  Good luck with the challenge - for moe details pop over to Fetch A Sketch and see how Lou has used the sketch too!

Get Well Soon!

Now this is the card I should have blogged over two weeks ago!  I don't know if it is the new blogger layout that is confusing me ever so slightly because I can't really see things as easily (I draft all my posts as I've made my DT commitments so that I know I've done it and the photo is there, and then once I've written the post I schedule it.....) but anyway, here it is, only a smidgin late!

And for some reason my card looks out of focus - its not - the photo is perfectly ok but blogger is being a bit of a pest!

Isn't this a cute image?  It's from Jellypark and I've coloured her with Promarkers.  The sentiment comes with the image and I've used one of my Nesties for the oval - no more wonky ovals for me now I have these dies!!

I've added a faux stitch around the edge of the papers and also the image and I've actually used a bandage across the centre!  Papers are from Funky Hand (retired) and I've used my fab X Cut star die.

So there you have it.  It's also rather late for me - I can't sleep tonight - its something that is quite rare as I do like my sleep so I thought I'd use my time wisely without child or husband interruptions!  Therefore, if something in this post does not make sense, its cos its early hours!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Creative Craft Challenges:  Red, White and Blue
Passion for Promarkers:  Red, White and Blue
Craft Your Days Away:  Red, White and Blue

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 14 - Angels

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Angels

I have two wonderful sponsors for the challenge - Funky Hand and Jellypark!  A download from Funky Hand and two digi's from Jellypark are the prizes for this challenge so two lucky winners!  A big thank you to Anice and Claire for their continuing generosity!

For my creation I have used two different Funky Hand products - the main backing paper is Rainbow Polkadots download and I've also used the Boys and Girls download behind the image which is no longer available.  And from Jellypark, I've used the Cute Little Angel stamp which has been coloured with Promarkers plus the obligatory glitter on her wings!

The ribbon is from my stash and I've had to do the one loop method as it wasn't long enough for a traditional two bow finish!  I've used my Sizzix snowflake die to cut sparkly paper and vellum and layered them up.

Good luck with the challenge!  For more details please pop over to Crimbo Crackers.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments:  For A Child
Flourishes:  Bingo (Pink, Ribbon, Die Cut)
Passion For Promarkers:  Use Die Cuts
Karen's Doodles:  Something For The Kids
  • Image:  Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue

Get Funky Challenge - Sentimental

It's time for my turn over at Get Funky for this months challenge theme which is:

Sentimental

I do like making word books and I've made these two (for the same person but from two people - if you know what I mean!) with papers from the no longer available (sorry!) boys and girls download from Funky Hand. I've made the large letters with word and the smaller ones are Sizzix Round A Bout alphabet dies.

I've added X Cut star die cuts from oddments of card and some corrugated gold card. Although I've glued the pages together, I've added some twine for texture.

Good luck with the challenge - don't forget our rules! To enter and to see more samples from the Design Team, just pop over to the blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe's Crafts: Ribbon or Twine

Four Owls

Here is the first of the Jellypark releases for this fortnight! The digi is actually four owls but I've separated them and made four different cards! Each have been coloured with Aquamarkers and all the specific details to each card appears with it.

Glad to say the indigestion has now completely vanished! I was in agony again Thursday early evening, coupled with having to keep going to school to drop the boys off at a disco (infants and juniors had different times) plus it was cold and wet so I felt right sorry for myself! Had a rather hot bubble bath at around 9pm and volia! All the pains went! Although I think it was helped by half a bag of midget gems! So I had a great night sleep and feel fine now!

Right, onto the cards!Card 1 (above): Papers are from Boys and Girls collection (sorry, no longer available) from Funky Hand plus a bit of faux stitching and a silver heart charm taken from a rather naff bracelet from the poundshop. Ribbon is from my stash.

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems: 5th Anniversary - Day 1
CRAFT: Valentine / Love
Cute Card Thursday: Pink Valentine

Card 2 (above): Paper is Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 kit (just can't stop using it!) along with a Nesties die and a brand new Marianne Creatables die that I've bought recently! I've added a heart recycled from a Christmas card and a Studio G acrylic stamped sentiment.

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems: 5th Anniversary Day 7
CRAFT: Valentine / Love href="http://ilovepromarkers.blogspot.com/2012/02/challenge-103-love-is-in-air.html">I Love Promarkers: Love Is In The Air
Forever Friends (Monthly): Valentine

Card 3 (above): I've used a sheet of rather posh Tom Smith Christmas paper for this card as I love the colours! Faux stitching around the edge and I've used some red ric rac ribbon underneath a strip of what can only be described as industrial ribbon! It came from the Scrap Store in a big roll and it does look like ribbon but more fabric like!

The very blingy heart is actually an earring! Jacob and I spent a good 10 minutes one morning on the way to nursery 3 years ago going through all the reduced jewellery in Asda - these should have been £2 for 2 pairs and were reduced to 50p so I got 4 of these hearts for just over 10p each! Jacob does love a bargain!

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems: 5th Anniversary Day 6
Charisma Cardz: Things with Wings
I Love Promarkers: Love Is In The Air
Sisterhood of Crafters: Valentine
Shopping Our Stash: Hearts and Valentines

Card 4 (above): Again, Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper with a ruffle added across the centre and another strip of the industrial ribbon from the Scrap Store. I had to be inventive and used my Nesties as a template to draw around as the proper square shape was too big. So if it looks a little wonky, that's why!

Challenges:
Card Positioning Systems: 5th Anniversary Day 5
Charisma Cardz: Things with Wings

So there 'you have it'! And in case you've not noticed, I am determined to do all 15 Card Positioning System sketches for their 5th Anniversary celebrations. I've got 7 more to do with a further 2 yet to be revealed, so I better crack on with those 9!

Scooter

This is one of two new releases from Jellypark. I never tire of colouring Claire's images and they are a joy to turn into cards! This one is called Boy On Scooter and I've coloured him with Promarkers plus some inking around the edges (that tusty little blue inkpad is almost no more!)

All the papers are from a no longer available (sorry!) collection from Funky Hand - Boys and Girls and it really is a fab paper collection! The star was made by drawing around a Christmas gift tag and the sentiment was printed onto Safmat.

A little bit of faux running stitch plus some tiny puffy silver stars that I've had in my stash for probably 6 years (eek!) and the card is complete! I'll be blogging the other new release tomorrow.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Lily Pad: Colour Palette
Southern Girls: Slugs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
Ruby's Rainbow: For The Boys
Deep Ocean Challenge: Happy Birthday
Here Come The Boys: Wheely Nice

  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers

Sailing

I'd been asked to make a special 60th Birthday card for a bloke who likes sailing. So here we are! I must say that Rainbow Studios saved the day with this wonderful acrylic stamp which I've used Aquamarkers to colour and I've added a faux stitch around the edge of the image.

It's the first time I've made a shutter card too and it took me a while to work out the dimensions so I got the best use of a sheet of A4 card. I didn't quite get the measurements quite right so the card doesn't actually fold flat (I'll blame the embellishments!) so I'll make a box for it to go in.

All the papers are from an unavailable (sorry!) paper collection from Funky Hand called Boys and Girls and it really is a fab set of papers! I've added buttons from my stash, tied them with button twine from The Ribbon Girl, a computer generated sentiment and a sliver anchor charm which I've just noticed, has spun round on the photos!

I've made a layered oval tag for the message to be written on and it will hang over the back of the card when its packed into the box.

Quite pleased with how its turned out!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jen's Digi Stamps: Non Standard Folds
Karen's Doodles: Fancy Folds
Opus Gluei: By The Sea
Pile It On: Three Different Shades of Blue
Sentimental Sundays: Shaped Card
4 Crafty Chicks: Twine
Digi Doodles Shops Best: Shaped Card

Little Boys

I won my choice of 5 Poodle Parlour images in a recent challenge and this image was one that I picked! The Poodle Parlour challenge is:

Red, White and Blue

I've followed the Papertake Weekly sketch for inspiration and the blue papers are from a now retired Funky Hand collection - Boys and Girls. The red spotty is from Rainbow Polkadots download from Funky Hand and I've used some shiny red card from my stash for layering along with some Card Candy and a button.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers. So if you like cute images that are a dream to colour, pop over to the Poodles Parlour!

First Sixty

Strange title for a blog post, I know, but I'm in the process of making another sixty wordbook but for a different recipient! This one is for one of my Aunties (and I have yet to make her card!) and will be sent by my Mum. It's her birthday the same day as my husbands and I have yet to make his card either!!

It's for the Cupcakes challenge which asks for:

Anything But Square

This card is a wordbook which I've used wordart to make the letters, cut them out then added them to blocks of card - each letter then opens up like a book. All the papers are from the now unavailable Girls and Boys collection from Funky Hand and all the embellishments are from my stash.

And this should be my last post for today but it happens like that sometimes when all my projects are completed as I generally have 6 or 7 on the go at any one time!

Going Bowling

A good and easy sketch this time over on Cards for Men:
I've used a great image from Dude Time Doodles - Larry Lane, who has been coloured with Promarkers. The three little bowling pins I've had for ages; I'm a bit of a hoarder and don't like to throw anything away as it could come in useful one day! These are from a cracker and I knew they would be perfect for a bowling card one day!

The papers are from Funky Hand - Girls and Boys and again I'm using up my scraps! A bit of inking and faux stitching and the card is complete! You'll have to excuse the bit of glue that you can see under one of the pins - Jacob was much aggrieved that I'd used them and moved it!

Party at Going Buggy!

Well, we all like a good party and what better than an online party and celebration that lasts a week! Enfys is doing just that to say thank you to all her followers and email subscribers and today is day one!

She has set a challenge of making a card that features a bug on it. This can include butterflies, dragonflies, bees etc and you could be in with a chance of winning some fantastic stash! For more details and how to enter click HERE to be taken to her blog! Ever day over the next week there will be prizes to win over on her blog!

I'll be popping up later in the week too as part of Enfys' celebrations, so keep watching my blog for further details!!

To enter Day One challenge create a card with a bug and go to Enfys' blog to link up your card - the challenge closes on Saturday 22 January at 12noon GMT.

For my card, I've used a Digi Sparkle image which has been coloured with Pomarkers and layered onto Funky Hand Girls and Boys download papers plus some random papers from my stash. A few gems here and there, bit of corner rounding and some inking and the card is complete! Plus bonus points for me here as I've used offcuts from my bits box and the card base is waste from the Scrap Store! The ribbon is Stampin Up and its called Tempting Turqoise!

Good luck in entering the challenge and I shall see you later in the week for more fun!

Buttons and Bows

I did say that there would be a second wordbook coming along using the Girls and Boys papers from Funky Hand and here it is! This one is for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which asks for:

Buttons and Bows

The papers are from Funky Hand - Girls and Boys download and I've used Wordart to print the letters. All the buttons, ribbons, eyelets and gems are from my stash, and I've made the hat pin by using a pearl headed pin and adding seed beads at the top and also the bottom (to stop any sharp surprises!)

I do like making these cards - fairly quick and easy to make but they look so good!

In The Pink at 21!

I've had a run of these word books in the same papers too recently - have already made 2 and have another one in progress, but this is the first one to show. I was asked to make this card quite last minute for a good customer, so could not refuse! Plus I do like making these word books especially with these papers!

This fits the current Creative Card Crew Challenge which is:

Birthday's at Christmas

I've used papers from the Funky Hand download Girls and Boys, using the girl colourways and I've printed the large letters using wordart on the pc. The smaller 21 is cut using my Sizzix Round-a-Bout alphabet dies and then layered onto black card.

All the ribbon, flower sequins, gems and hat pins are from my stash.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year and you are not suffering too much either from over eating or over drinking! Hope 2011 brings you all that is wished for!
