Crimbo Crackers Challenge 201 - Kraft

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme is

Kraft

I've used a kraft card blank and then layered another kraft frame onto a layer of silver card.  The skate die is from Polkadoodles and I've double cut it for more depth, adding silver blades and half pearls.

The background has been created with a stencil and glitter glue.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Die Cuts and Watercolours

I like using white card (quite a lot!) and just splashes of colour so I decided to take 4 different Polkadoodle dies and to make some quick and easy cards with them.  I've used the Holly and Spruce, Fancy Snowflake, Fancy Intricate Bauble and Ice Skates.

I found some smallish square envelopes in my stash and made some card blanks to fit these and then cut another square panel for each, that was slightly smaller.  For each die, I cut two for extra strength.

I then used my rather ancient (I used them when I did A Level Art back in 1990!) watercolours in the bottom right corner.  I repeated this for all four panels using different colours each time.

Next I added the die cut over the watercoloured area after sticking the panel to the card blank.  To keep it all flat, I add them under the cushion of the chair that I sit at when crafting - its a heavy wooden table chair so works perfectly under my posterior!

I also added some little half pearls here and there and some larger ones to three of the cards.  I quite like these - a little bit different!

Sparkles and Skates

I've made a cute pillow box out of a sheet of kraft card - and I used a fancy circle punch on each of the ends so that it can be opened easily (you just can't see it on the photos) but a good idea is to use the punch before gluing the sides together!

To cut the tag, I've used the largest die from Posydoodles Basics Tags die and I've used some of the very sparkly white glitter card that I've had in my stash for probably 10 years.

Next up, I cut two of the Ice Skates die from off-cuts of kraft card - I cut two for extra strength as its going to hang over the edge of the tag and I don't want it to bend or get damaged

From an off-cut of silver card, I've cut the skate blades and also the bow - I always keep all my off-cuts unless they are ridiculously tiny, because you never know when you'll need them!

When assembled, it will look something like this:

I added the tag to the box with some white organza ribbon I had in my stash and found a gem (stuck to the side of my die cutting machine, of all things!) and added that to the centre of the bow - plus it covered up the join rather nicely!

A great quick tag and gift box!

Polkaoodle Challenge - Anything Goes or Christmas Mosaic Effect

It's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge and the theme as always is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenged to make a Christmas project and to add a mosaic effect.  I've used the Posydoodles Basics Square dies with silver card from my stash (although it looks gold in the photo!)  I have also used the cute Ice Skates die which I've cut twice - once from white card and then again with silver for the blades.

I've added a gem to the centre of the bow.  The background has been made by blending some silver ink (I've had the ink pad for about 15 years and its not yet dry!) and then running it through a Sizzix embossing folder.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Polkadoodles Challenge - Anything Goes or Tag - You're It!

Time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme, as always is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenge to make a tag and here is mine:

I've used one of the Fanciful Circles dies as my tag and then layered the Ice Skate die cut, from kraft card, over the top.  I've added a few layers of glossy accents and ultra fine glitter to the skates and a half pearl on the bow.  For the laces, I've used a dot of liquid pearls.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 168 - Anything Goes

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge!  And the theme is

Anything Goes

I've created this rather cute card using the lovely Ice Skating die from Polkadoodles which I've cut two - one from white glitter card and the other from red and layered them up plus added liquid pearl dots for the laces and a half pearl to the centre of the bow.

I've made the card using the Fanciful Circles die set plus added dotted liquid pearls around the edge of the inner circle.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Ice Skates

Today is the final of the One Day Special on Hochanda for Polkadoodles and for my sample today I've used the Ice Skates die and I've used some very glittery card with contrasting bow and skates.  The papers are from the Holly Jolly 6x6 paper pack.

The die cut centre circle has been cut with the Fanciful Circles die.
