Simply Create Challenge 50 - Distressing

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! This fortnight we are sponsored by Bonibleaux Designs - otherwise known as Dude Time Doodles. Pop over to the challenge blog to find out what you could win!

The theme this fortnight is:

Distressing

I've used papers from Alison Sloan - these are actually part of a Christmas digital scrapbooking kit called Comfort and Joy but I really like the papers and they are so versatile too! I've distressed the edges with scissors and added some string from the kitchen drawer. You can buy her digital kits here.

I've used Doghouse Doug as my image from Bonibleaux Designs and he's been coloured with Promarkers. I thought he fitted the theme quite well as he does look distressed!

Hope you can join in with us! I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz: Distressing
Sassy Studios: Distressing
Corrosive Challenge: Earth Tones
Dream Valley Challenges: Distressing

  • Image: Doghouse Doug, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers: Alison Sloan, Comfort and Joy Kit
  • Everything else: My stash

Recycled Christmas

The Bah Humbug challenge is to:

Recycle

And so I have!

Card blank was a donation and came as a much larger sheet
The embellishment was a tree decoration
The bells were from another tree decoration
The brown paper was a Primark carrier bag

The backing paper is from the Comfort and Joy download from Alison Sloan, the red raffia is from my stash plus the card candy too. A nice and quick card to make! Need to knock one off my countdown now!

  • Backing paper: Alison Sloan
  • Everything else: My stash or recycled from something else

Comfort and Joy in Gingerbread

A lovely sketch from Inspiration Sketches this week which I have used the new digital scrapbooking kit (yet to be released!) from Alison Sloan called Comfort and Joy.

All the papers are from the kit and I've added some real burgundy organza ribbon and a chipboard sticker topper that I bought last year and never got round to using (possibly because I bought many!)

The papers are very rich in colour and have a traditional but contemporary twist to them. I've only used a small selection of the papers here - there are loads to go at, plus digital elements too!

Thank you to Alison for asking me to 'play'!

  • All papers: Comfort and Joy from Alison Sloan
  • Dies: Nestabilities
  • Everything else: My stash
