From Saturday

Sorry I don't have many blog posts at the moment - it's not that I'm not creating, as I am, madly behind the scenes, its just that I can't share any of them at the moment as they are top secret!!

Here are photos that Lynsey took for me on Saturday at my first Craft Fair of the year at Crossley Heath School in Halifax. Taken just after I'd finished setting up.

The sale basket (well, a lego tub!) proved popular and I managed to sell quite a lot of cards this way. This is simply to make room for all the cards I have and my style has changed over the last 18 months and I thought this was the best way to go.

All my little people toppers are displayed on stand up boards across the back of my stall - you get to pick which ones you want and I then produce virtual exact replicas from under the table! All these are available to buy via my website (and I have a sale on at the moment too!) If you do buy, make sure you add a note to your order to say that you came via my blog as I will add something into your package!

Thank you to Lynsey for the photos and dammed good company!

Halifax on a Saturday - Craft Fair!

Well, I survived yesterday although I am really aching! I stood for the whole of the fair as space behind the tables was very limited and its a good job Lynsey and I knew each other! Quite a successful day - we didn't get lost and arrived half an hour earlier than anticipated and we both did ok with sales. The amount of visitors was constant and it never let up until around 10 mins before the end.

We were entertained by the school band who were very good, even the Mayor and Mayoress of Halifax visited!

And here are some pics that Lynsey took of my stall:

This is the famous 'space saving dino' - made with It's Funky Too papers - I always get a lot of compliments about this card and manage to sell quite a few too!

Thank you to the organisers of the Craft Fair at Crossley Health School and also to Lynsey for her fab map reading skills and conversation! Oh, and to my cousin Claire for buying us all a cake - yum!!! And for helping with the packing up!
We shall be back for next year! Maybe school fairs are the garlic bread of the future?.....! (Hehehehe!)

I'm Back!

But not got anything new to post! The buyers at the craft fair at Ordsall Hall have been generous and left me with ample stock for my next craft fair on 15 November in Halifax.

I think it was a bad combination of a glorious late summer day and buyers wanting to keep their pennies in their pockets to the extent that I didn't do particularly well.

However, I am not complaining as I met some lovely virtual people Sue and Helen who are now real! And also the girls at the beautiful jewellery stall at the side of me, with whom potential and actual horror stories were swopped!

A Good Reason Why ........

...... I've not done any new challenges this week, is because I am desperately trying to make enough stock for the Craft Fair on Sunday 12 October at Ordsall Hall in Salford!

I hadn't realised how low on toppers, embellishments and die cuts I was, so I am now attempting to get 30 hours out of a day! And the day job certainly gets in the way at times like these!

However, I think I'm ok for Christmas Cards!

So, if you are in the area, pop on by and have a look - its free entry!

Craft Fair - Lancaster - 13 July 2008

I'm busy preparing for my second craft fair of the year! I'm madly trying to make enough stock to take with me (toppers, die cuts, embellishments and cards) as I've had a lot of orders lately and stocks are a little depleted! Still, keeps me out of mischief....

It will be from 12 noon to 4 pm on Sunday 13 July at Slyne with Hest Memorial Hall, Hest Bank, Lancaster. If you're in the area pop in and see me! More details are on my website.

Update on Lynsey - she's back home as nothing untoward was found but she's to get back to the hospital if she's in that much pain again. Glad you're home!!

Space Saving Dino!

Made this dinosaur card last night as part of my demonstration cards for It's Funky Too. Had been working the idea through in my head for a while but not really found the right backing paper to do it. Then I found this little gem on the cd!! The template is hand drawn and it fits neatly over a 15cm square blank card - I just trimmed the excess off around the edges - the bend is at the top of the card.

The head and tail are attached with eyelets and brads so they move about.

And so that they can fold into themselves to fit into the envelope. Although it does look a bit like the dinosaur is sniffing its bottom!

The only extra bits on the card are a few age spots cut from the same card and with black fine marker circles, and the same black marker around the edges of the dinosaur. I showed it to the boys this morning and they loved it!
Will make a few more of these and see if they sell at the Craft Fair next weekend!
