Crimbo Crackers Challenge 36 - Penguins

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and I'm pleased to be sponsored by the fab Jellypark!  One lucky winner will get to choose two digi's from the store!

The theme for the fortnight is:

Penguins

And here is my sample.  I've used Cosmo Cricket Jolly Golly digi papers for the background and tore some of the strips in the hope that it looked like a snow scene!  I found the papers when searching for something else - I already had them printed so they must have been in my stash for a while as I've not printed any papers for some time!

I've used a rather cute Jellypark digi - Cute Penguin in Woolly Hat and coloured him with Promarkers.  I've added some stickles to his hat for a bit of winter bling!

I've added the sentiment as a Sizzix tag and handwrote the message.  Ribbon and string are from my stash.

Hope you can join in with the challenge!  For more details please go to Crimbo Crackers.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

City Crafter Challenge:  Wings of an Angel
Crafty Sentiments:  Recipe - 1 image, 2 papers, 3 embellishments (ribbon, string and tag)

Football Supporter

And here is the second of two new release stamps from Jellypark this fortnight and I've teamed it up (see what I did there?!) with a Crafts U Print sheet from the same image from Claire!

First up is the new release image - Football Supporter with Scarf - and he's been coloured with Promarker.  I asked Jacob what colours to use and he suggested Manchester United!  The image has been added with foam pads and I've made the background pitches with offcuts of card.  The smaller pitches are offcuts from making Christmas wordbooks and they are from the Christmas Tree wordbook download from Funky Hand (I don't like to throw anything away that I think I'll be able to use!)

I made the bunting ages ago for a different project and in the end decided I wasn't going to use it so it sat on my table!  So now I've used it up!

The card below is the same image but this time its in the form of a decoupage sheet and is available to buy from Crafts U Print.  I printed the sheet as A5 size so I got two on the A4 card as I didn't want them too big and then cut it out, layering it up with foam pads.  The football pitch background comes with the kit and I've just added a plain green background so that it fits onto an A6 sized card.  You can buy this sheet HERE for 80p!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Digi Stamps 4 Joy:  Birthdays are Fun
Whimsical Designs:  Going Green
Craft Room Challenge:  Something For A Man

A Page From A Scrapbook

Deirdery found her old scrapbook when she was having a clear out last week and she wanted to share this page. The photo has survived remarkably well along with the prize rosette.

Who would have thought she would have Green Fingers and Thumb!  Deirdery had a right chuckle when she remembered that she had originally anticipated entering the sunflower competition but had to make a change when the seed turned into a whopper of a marrow......!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Avenue 613:  Anything Goes
Joanna Sheen:  Layer It Up
Crazy 4 Challenges:  Texture
Totally Gorjuss:  Happy
Brown Sugar:  Fruit / Vegetables

Image:  Dr Digi, coloured with Promarkers

Slugs and Snails

Yep, I'm still working my way through the large shoe box full of offcuts of digi papers! I'm determined to see the bottom of it this year and not to transfer the contents into a larger box!

For this card I've used a dark red base card and then the spotty layers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download which have been printed in different sizes so I got different sized dots!  I had to be creative with the red and white spotty paper as I didn't quite have enough - the 'missing bit' is under the image so you'll never know!

The image is a pre coloured Sassy Cheryl from a kit of 5 I bought from Crafts U Print.  Sometimes its just easier to print than to try and colour!  I've added a dotted blue line around the edge of the image with a gel pen.  The embroidery thread is from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Ready For A Splash of Colour?!

I'm trying to work my way through the rather large shoe box I have with all offcuts of digi papers.  I found some papers that were in a bundle together from Wishes and Kisses cd from Funky Hand and they seemed perfect to use with this Sassy Cheryl image.

The image is actually pre-coloured and I bought it as a kit of 5 different Sassy Cheryl images from Crafts U Print - you can buy it here.  I've cut the image out with an X Cut oval die, inked the edges, added a faux running stitch and then layered it onto some more bright raspberry papers.

The sentiment stamp was a freebie from a magazine a few years ago and the two ribbons are from my stash.  A really great image to make a card in a hurry!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl:  Sketch followed
Gingerloft:  Ribbons and Bows
Pile It On:  Sunshine

A Gift For You!

As promised, here is the second topper from the set I blogged on Thursday.  It's a pre-printed topper taken from an original watercolour drawing by Claire Kaye - the illustrator behind Jellypark.  Claire is an exclusive designer on Crafts U Print and I'm also a cardmaker on there and you can buy the topper HERE!  And for only 80p too!

Because the topper is pre coloured I've simply added stickles around the edge and to parts of the image - really quick and easy to make a card with such a cute image!

The paper is from Dovecraft - Sugar and Spice 6x6 stack and I thought the pretty border would make a nice feature!  So its not overloaded, I've used vellum for layering and cut them with my X Cut fancy dies although I followed the There She Goes sketch and made the bottom panel into a circle at the top.

Some ribbon from my stash and two pearls (to hide the glue under the vellum!) and the card is complete!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

There She Goes:  Sketch followed
Penny's Paper Crafty:  Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew:  Birthday
Digital Tuesday:  Pink and White (does the vellum count as white?!)
Created With Love:  Things That Fly

Pink Princess

Here is the first of two new release stamps this fortnight from Jellypark - this one is called Princess and is available to buy for the very un-Regal price of £1.25!  I've coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out with a Nesties circle die and then layered it onto the scalloped edge one.

I've added stickles around the edge of the image as a Princess needs some bling and then dotted liquid pearls around the card blank edge.  The papers have been in my stash for ages so not got a clue where they originated although I do know that they are digital!

The ribbon is from my stash and I've tied a double bow and then secured a heart charm (made with love) with some embroidery thread.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafts and Me:  Add A Charm
Whimsy Inspiration:  Metal
Digital Tuesday:  Pink and White
Passion For Promarkers:  Prince or Princess Plus a Crown
Sweet Stamping:  Sweet and Simple

Jellypark Challenge - Get In Shape

And here is my Jellypark challenge post - and hopefully the last blog post for today!!  The challenge theme for the fortnight is:

Get In Shape

And I took it literally and made a star shaped card!  I'm trying to use up offcuts of printed digital paper so this is a mixture of Funky Hand (red) and Polkadoodles (spotty) but I couldn't tell you which cd's they are from!  Sorry!

The template is my own and all the other stars are cut with an X Cut die, inked and added with foam pads.  Really quite quick and easy to put together once I got going!  The image is a fab Jellypark one and I do like using it!  This is Superboy and he's only £1.25 to buy!

I've coloured him with Promarkers and added him to the star with foam pads.  Hope you can join in with the challenge and if you've not already joined the Jellypark club you're missing out on lots of lovely freebies!  Also sign up to the newsletter too as there are freebies in that!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Polkadoodle Challenge 8 - Fantasy / Fairy Tale Scene

It's Friday and today the posts come thick and fast! If you are looking for the Simply Create Too Midway Extra post, its underneath, and the Jellypark challenge post will be along quite soon!

This is for the new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme this week is:

Fantasy or Fairy Tale Scene

I really had to have a good think about what to do and then remembered my Wonderland stamps which I've not used in a long time.  I also remembered that I'd bought some of these tiny canvases from the poundshop a while ago (4 for a £1!) and thought I'd better try and use them.

I stamped the image directly onto the canvas and then coloured it with Promarkers.  The mushrooms I stamped onto card and then cut out (also coloured with Promarkers) and did the same with the sentiment but added it to a cocktail stick.  This also gives the canvas an extension and more detail!

Hope you can join in with the challenge - for more details please go to Polkadoodles!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I Love Promarkers:  Four Legged Friends
Ruby's Rainbow:  In The Garden
Three Muses:  From Time To Time
Cheerful Stamp Pad:  Anything But A Card

Simply Create Too Challenge 31 - Mother's Day / Female

Welcome to the Midway Extra point for the current Simply Create Too challenge.  The theme this fortnight is:

Mother's Day or Female

I've gone for the Mother's Day option and used papers from Dovecraft - Back To Basics 2 6x6 stack (which were also a bargain - half price at £1.49!)  I don't usually use green in female cards - quite happy in male cards but for some reason not something I go for in feminine cards!

I've used a fab digi from Jellypark - Two Mice 'For You' which was a previous freebie if you were a Jellypark Club member - its free to join!  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added some tiny half pearls to the corner.

I've made the banner with some lilac card I found and layered it onto an offcut of the green spotty paper.  I handwrote the letters and then added faux brads with a black marker and daubed liquid pearls over the top.  The ribbon and embroidery thread are from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and how to enter, pop over to Simply Create Too!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sweet Fairy!

Following on from the post earlier today, here is another Jellypark topper sheet that I bought from Crafts U Print.  Again the toppers are pre coloured which are great for quick cards and this one also comes with the same little fairy girl but holding pink bunting.  So two pre coloured toppers (there are actually 3 of each on the A4 sheet) for only 80p!  Buy it here!!

I've layered the image and other layers onto chocolate brown card from my stash and all I've added is stickles, pearls and ribbon also from my stash.  The round glittered sentiment actually hides a join in the blue flowery paper - I hate to throw the offcuts away and will find a use for them!

The sentiment is from the same Dovecraft range as the papers - Sugar and Spice 6x6 paper pad.  I've had the pad for ages and have only used it once or twice - I bought it as it was half price in Dunelm - I tend to buy bargains and not think if I'll actually use them!! I've added some faux stitiching around the edge of the card and that's it!  Told you it was a quick and easy card to make with the pre-coloured toppers!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cute!

I've had a few days this week where I've done lots of crafting - the boys are off school for half term and I'm off with them too.  Usually I have good intentions of crafting but never get much done for one reason or another but this week I've been on a roll!

I'm a Design Team member for Jellypark and I love Claire's images plus there is a bonus as she is also an exclusive designer on Crafts U Print where I am a cardmaker too!  So when a topper sheet popped up I just had to get it!  There are two toppers on the sheet (pre coloured and for only 80p too!) and you can buy it here.  The other card I've made which is shown with the one below will be blogged over the weekend.

All I've done is added stickles to her wings and used a Nestie to cut her out.  I've added a black dotted line around the edge and layered onto some chocolate brown card.  To help with a layout I've followed the Feeling Sketchy sketch. The papers are from Dovecraft - Sugar and Spice 6x6 pad and again I've layered onto chocolate brown card.  I've added a faux stitch around the edges and some thin organza ribbon from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Get Funky and Craft - New Digi Stamps!

It's my turn to provide some inspiration for how to use Funky Hand papers and to show off one of the brand new digi stamps!  And not any digi stamp, but one that Anice has drawn herself!  All of the Design Team were really impressed that she'd drawn them and they are such a dream to colour!

I'm also going to show how versatile the Funky Hand products are!  I've used base papers from Is It Christmas? download - just goes to show that Christmas can be used all year round! I've inked the edges and then added a line of glitter around the inner layer.  Die cut with the Flower Cake digi stamp has also been edged with glitter.

I've coloured the digi with Promarkers and added some clear dew drops to the flower centres and also to the prima flowers.  Ribbon is from my stash.

The sentiment on the cake banner I've written but you could add your own if you wished!  And if you need to make a card for a male, there is the Star Cake digi available, also only £1.49!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Lady of Leisure

Ah, now this would be a perfect start to a Tuesday morning, especially if you are a lady of leisure.  Deirdery is just one of those, ahem, ladies.  And here she is (modesty protected by the rather 70's tub) thinking that the room could do with a make-over and that blasted tap is still dripping......

You too could be the proud owner of Bath Time Deirdery and give her pink hair and a lime green tub!  The wallpaper and pictures are from Dovecraft 6x6 Tea House paper stack.  The floorboards are kraft card offcuts (notice the bad match on the right hand side!) and the skirting board is an inked strip of card.

Deirdery has been coloured with Promarkers plus some stickles and liquid pearls.  Her cup of tea has not been tampered with cos I did not dare.  Builders brew, just how she likes it.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 44

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the sketch:
The sketch, to me, shouted male and bold so I dug out my Clare Curd - The Big One 12x12 paper stack and got the two black and white papers.  The star I hand cut and the red card is from my stash - the letters cut with a Sizzix alphabet die have been drowned in glossy accents.

Some card candi and a stray piece of black elastic along with faux stitching and my card is complete!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and how to enter, please go to Fetch A Sketch!

Sending Love

Here is the second of the two new release digi stamps from Jellypark this fortnight. This one is called Sending You All My Love and is available to buy for the bargain price of £1.25!  I've kept it very simple - this is an A6 sized card (two cards made from a sheet of A4) and I've found some pink backing paper in my stash.

The image has had its edges inked with black and pink ink (both rather tatty pads and fading but still got life in them yet!) and then I've layered it onto some grey card.  Glittered the edges of the pink card and its done!

Rather minimal but I didn't want the image to be overloaded!  Hope you're having a lovely Valentines Day - I don't think I've got anything planned; if I have, its the first time in 21 years!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 35 - Shaped Cards

Time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge!  The theme this fortnight is:

Shaped Cards

And here is my sample.  I've used papers from the Winter Wonderland download from Funky Hand and my own template.  I've added a faux stitched line around the top of the stocking and the toe bit and also glitter glue around all edges - a boy does need a bit of bling!

The letters are cut with a Sizzix die - Girls are Weird alphabet and then onto a Sizzix scallop tag.  The snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die and I've cut it from some glitter card I found (along with the letters).  And finally I wound some tiny blue metallic star tinsel around the top - always buy stuff like that in the sales after Christmas as you can get it really cheap!  And I bought this last January sales too so its about time I used it!

Good luck with the challenge!  For more details and how to enter, pop over to Crimbo Crackers.

Party Dress (and Handbag!)

Here is the first of the two new release digi stamps from Jellypark!  This one is called Heart Dress and Handbag.  I've coloured them with Promarkers and then cut around them before layering onto an acetate card front.  The backing paper is from Funky Hand - Just For Jen Download and it all matched up perfectly with the colours!

I've actually layered the front of the dress with angel hair - 3 layers but I added stickles to the hearts before I did it!  Added a double organza pink bow to the top of the card plus some baby pink half pearls to the dress and its done!

Knickers

My turn as Girl Tuesday at Dr Digi to make you giggle or cringe!  It's my airing of Wash Day and here it is in all its glory:

I think its Night Nurse Nina on her day off - the red painted nails are a dead giveaway!  No doubt I'll be using this digi quite a lot as I am pants at remembering Birthday's!

Image has been coloured with Promarkers with watercolour pencils for the background.  I've used plain card from my stash for layering, letters cut with Girls Are Weird Sizzix alphabet dies and the tag is also a Sizzix die.  And embroidery thread from my stash.  A bold lady needs a bold statement!

Jellypark Challenge - So Sweet

Phew - hope you are managing to keep up! This is my third and final post for today! And its time for the new Jellypark challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

So Sweet

I've gone for a new baby theme and used the fab tag with ribbon digi which is available to buy in the store for £1.25!  I've made two little cards using the tag which I've coloured with Promarkers plus liquid pearls.

For the card base and also the tags I've used some card that was donated by my cousin Claire as its left overs from her Wedding Stationery from last year.  And she knows me so well that I couldn't pass an opportunity like that!

I've layered the tag onto the card with foam pads and used a Nesties for the shape of the card the added a line of dots around the edge with a gel pen.

The little feet I made from fimo and I managed to get them made before our oven decided to blow an element although it was a bit touch and go if they would 'cook' properly!  I've not used a template to make them, just made it up as I went along, which to be fair, happens with most of my creations!

Good luck with the challenge and hope you can join in with us!

Polkadoodle Challenge 6 - Valentine Love

It's Friday so that means the blogging comes thick and fast!  My Simply Create Too post is below and the Jellypark challenge will be along very soon!  But this one is the turn of the new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme this week is:

Valentine Love

I've used an image from the Love and Cherish cd - printed it directly onto the card stock and then cut it out with a fancy X Cut die.  I've layered it onto another die cut (I actually chopped it in half so it fanned out a little!)

The card shape is also made using the largest of the X Cut dies but I had to cheat a little as the die was not quite as large as I wanted so it is a little wonky in places!

I've decoupaged the central heart and added glossy accents over the top.  All edges have been inked with brown and then black ink and I've added some half pearls from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!

Simply Create Too - Challenge 30 Midway Extra - Valentine Day / Hearts

It's time for the midway extra post to help you with some extra inspiration for the current Simply Create Too challenge which is:

Valentine Day / Hearts

I've used some wonderful papers from the new Funky Hand download - Just For Jen and for every purchase £1 will be donated to Cancer Research.  There are lots of patterned papers in the collection - greys and pinks but I've only used one of the 'solid' pinks and printed directly onto my cardstock.

I found a fab template from Belles Printables and I adapted it slightly and layered the heart.

I've added liquid pearl dots around the edge of the heart and then raided my button stash!  I've also added some clear gems - I think they would be termed dew drops - which were donated by my cousin Claire after her Wedding last year!

Good luck with the challenge!

Bedside Manner and Some News!

I can finally reveal my good news!  I've been asked to join the small but perfectly formed Design Team for Dr Digi!!  And I've accepted the position and I am Girl Tuesday!  So every Tuesday at 10am GMT come hail, rain, shine or snow (its hailing and lightning really really hard whilst I write this!) I'll be blogging something from Dr Digi!

And to start it off, here is Night Nurse Nina with her most favoured expression.  It's one of those looks that can be applied in almost any clinical situation.  Especially if she's holding a rather large needle.  And yes, she's been heard to say, in a rather bored and patronising voice, 'it's only a little scratch' whilst jabbing the flabby white rear end of a poor male patient.  And hiding her smirk.

And Nina can be all yours too for the princely sum of a quid!  Yes one whole pound!  And she's worth every penny!!  Click here to go and buy!!

I've coloured her with Promarkers and then cut her out.  I made the clipboard from an old manilla folder - I hate to throw anything away (as I know I will be able to use it some day!) and added a a sheet of paper from Jacob's notebook - he's not noticed so I aint telling him!  I've roughed it up a little with ink plus some rolling and ripping.  I've added the critical red line and then stamped the sentiment with a little wooden Studio G alpha set.  And the clippy bit at the top are offcuts of gold card and I've used a tool thing to indent the lines.

So hope you enjoyed my first post and don't forget to come back next Tuesday for another peak at the genius of Dr Digi!  Or check out the blog - something new every day (or nearly!)  Don't forget to subscribe to the newsletter - miss it and miss out!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 43

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the sketch for this fortnight:

We are sponsored by Polkadoodles for this challenge and one lucky entrant will win this rubber stamp set!

I've used various Polkadoodle papers from my stash plus some plain red card I found.  The image is from Emma Canning - which you can buy from Polkadoodles as Nikky exclusively stocks Flat Friends images.  I've used an X Cut star die plus two star shaped buttons that I found in my stash.  They were originally pink but I coloured them with a Promarker so they would match!

I've used a Nestie die for the main image and background.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and how to enter please pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Gardening and Knicker Elastic

And here I am with the second (very late) blogging of the new release digi stamp from Jellypark!  This one is called Woman Gardening and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus watercolour pencils for the sky - again for a softer finish.

The main background paper is from Dovecraft - Enchanted Fairytale 6x6 paper stack which I bought from Dunelm early in the New Year and it was half price!

The ribbon is from my stash and the brighter pink on the top is actually lacy knicker elastic - I picked up a few meters of it last time I went to the Scrap Store (and got some in mint green too!)

The chipboard butterflies I've had for some time and I've covered them with some pink paper and added some half pearls to the centre.  The dark blob to the centre of the earth on the image is a snail - I sort of overcoloured it that's why it looks a bit odd!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss:  Anything Goes with Lace (does lacy knicker elastic count?!)
Card Crafters Circle:  Springtime
Crafty Ribbons:  Anything Goes with Ribbon
Happy Campers:  Flowers and something Digital
Paper Crafting Journey:  For A Girl
Flutterby Wednesday's:  Anything Goes with Butterfly or Fairy

Ahoy!

I am rather late with blogging this card - it features one of the two new release digi stamps from Jellypark. From last week. So sorry - I've been really busy at work and not been getting home at a reasonable time and I was struggling to string a coherent sentence together I was that tired.

I've managed to have a little 'me' time this weekend (in between a football match (they lost 7-0 but Jacob saved between 20 and 25 goals!) and then an afternoon of karting at 3 Sisters Race Track) plus I HAD to go into Blackburn this morning for a new school coat for Jacob - his zip disintegrated on Friday and some Bin Weevils' trading cards.....)  And I have some good news, but will tell you about that on Tuesday!

Anyway, here is Pirate and Dog on Boat digi stamp which I've made quite large and then coloured with Promarkers.  I coloured the sky with Watercolour pencils as I wanted a softer look plus a bit of inking too.

I found some card in my stash - I think it used to be a manilla folder - so that became the base of the card.  I've cheated a little and made my own brads - a Sharpie marker and then a dab of glossy accents over the top!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

365 Day Cards:  Day 33 - Colour Like Crazy
Allsorts:  Lets Get Cute
One Stop Craft:  Anything Goes
Word Play Saturday:  Anything
Raise The Bar:  Animal Attraction
Sweet Pea Stampers:  Clean and Simple and No Embellishments

Simply Create Too Challenge 30 - Valentines Day / Hearts

It's Friday so time for a new Simply Create Too challenge!  And a rather appropriate theme too:

Valentines Day / Hearts

I bought this wicker heart during the summer from I think, Poundstretchers, as I knew it would come in handy at some point!  Plus the fact it was still lying around on the table and I was getting fed up of moving it!  And to keep the shabby chic look (and because I couldn't be bothered) I've not painted over it but simply added an organza bow made from two different ribbons plus some seed beads wrapped in wire.

The cute bunny Wedding couple has been decoupaged as I fancied a change - the image is from Polkadoodles - Cherryblossom Lane cd.  I've used the pre coloured image which has actually been coloured by Nikky and it is really lovely and soft and delicate and I knew I'd be more heavy handed if I coloured it.

I've added some stickles here and there too and when it was shown on Create and Craft in early December it went down a treat with the presenter!

Good luck with the Simply Create Too challenge!
