Elf

As well as running Crimbo Crackers in order to make sure I have plenty of Christmas cards and not to be panic stricken come November, I thought I'd do an extra festive card with this cute Sassy Cheryl image I bought from CraftsUPrint.  I came in a kit of 5 Sassy Cheryl images all pre-coloured for £3 which I thought was a bargain!

I've added it to some green printed card that I know I printed probably 6 or more years ago (and I've only just found it!) from one of the very first Funky Hand cd's - Yule Be Funky.  The other papers are offcuts (that I have had to be very clever with the joining!) from DCWV - The Christmas Stack 6x6 papers.

I've added some green Christmas ribbon from my stash and a snowflake charm.  I bought I think 50 of these charms a while ago and I keep looking at them thinking that either side is nice to show (one is more ornate than the other) but haven't really got round to using them!

The sentiment is a freebie from Cuddly Buddly and I've added some silver half pearls from my stash.  Stitching is all fake!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch and Stash:  Sketch followed
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long:  Anything Goes
Jingle Belles Rock:  Tie a Ribbon
Southern Girls:  Tic Tac Toe (Ribbon, Stripes, Charm)
ABC Christmas Challenge:  K for Kept Safe (snowflake charm and green paper)
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge:  3 Embellishments (ribbon, charm and pearls)

Jellypark Challenge - Colour Palette

It's time for a new Jellypark challenge and the theme for the fortnight is

Colour Palette

We've used Design Seeds as inspiration and here is mine:

SouvenirColor605

And here is what I've made!  It's a wordbook using the Wishes and Kisses cd from Funky Hand.  I printed the letters out separately and then added them on top of the pages with foam pads and then carefully added glitter glue around the edges.

I added some waxed string to tie it all together (its actually glued so it won't fall apart!) as ribbon looked a bit too bulky!  I've used the new Cake digi release from Jellypark and coloured it with Promarkers to match the colour scheme of the card and also added some of the bunting to the top of the letters.

My green is a bit more 'lime' than the photo so I blame my printer for when I printed the palette for inspiration it was a lot more lime coloured!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

My Heart Pieces:  Sentimental
Creative Moments:  Lots of Layers
Stamp n Doodle:  So Many Layers
Tip Top Tuesday:  Numbers
Love To Scrap:  Bold, Bright Colours

Papers:  Wishes and Kisses cd from Funky Hand

Polkadoodle Challenge Week 22 - Colour Purple

It's another busy Friday for blog posts!  It's the turn of the new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme this week is:

The Colour Purple

We want to see lots of purple!  I've used papers from the Pretty Sweet cd and printed them A5 size, distressed the edges and added them to the kraft card blank.  I made the bunting from left overs and added some string and used staples to keep it all in place.

The sentiment has been stamped from the Babsie Fairy Flutterby stamp set and I've added a half pearl to the corner. Sometimes its nice to make a card without having to colour an image!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafting By Designs:  Anything Goes
Creative Moments:  Lots of Layers
Nutcrafters:  Monochrome
Sisterhood of Crafters:  Sentiment - No Image

Papers:  Pretty Sweet cd from Polkadoodles

Sun Shiny Day Flip Flops!

I am really late in blogging this new release digi from Jellypark - it was released two weeks ago and I sort of lost it within all my other posts in the dashboard!  This one is called Summer Flip Flops and the sentiment also comes with the image - and available to buy for only £1.25!

We've spent all day karting as Samuel had his ARKS test - which he passed! - and that now means he is licenced to race go-karts although he competes initially as a novice so we need to get him some white on black numbers for the kart to show his status! To compete in MSA races is a whole new ball game for us!

I've coloured it with Promarkers and added a pearl to the centre of each of the large flowers and stickles too.  I used one of my new Nesties to cut the background and then threaded some embroidery thread through as it looked a little bare.

The backing paper is Echo Park Splash and the card stock is from the generous donation from my cousin Claire as its all the left overs from making her Wedding Stationery last year!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sassy Studios Designs:  Hit The Beach
Crafting With Dragonflies:  One For The Girls
I Love Promarkers:  Die Cuts
Simon Says Stamp:  Anything Goes

Cardstock:  Donation from Claire

Fungi

I get a list of cards at the start year from my cousin Claire with who the recipient is and their birthday. I've almost completed the list for the year and have just 4 left to do - this is one of them! It's for her Brother-In-Law so I've kept it quite simple and embossed the cardstock directly with Swiss Dots - the join bit where the folder didn't reach is covered with the string.

The image is from Tiddly Inks and I've coloured it with Promarkers and then added liquid pearls for the spots.  I've layered it onto some offcuts of card I found in my stash and then added the Marianne die - its supposed to be icicles but I use it for grass - underneath.

I've handwritten the sentiment on the tag which has been cut with a Sizzix die.  The good thing about the card is that it is almost flat which is good as it will be posted from Germany!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cards In Envy:  Make Your Own Background
Tiddly Inks:  Masculine
Anything Goes Challenge:  Handmade Backgrounds
Creative Craft Challenge:  For the Fellas
Ooh La La:  Inspired by Nature

All In The Name of Showbiz

Martini Bianca is certainly living up to her name.  She may be a little past it, but she is determined to slither into the over-sized comedy Martini glass - all in the name of fun!

After spending a few hours stretching her blue nylon clad legs with Dorothy red shoes whilst in the over-sized glass, it is no surprise that she walks at a rather strange 120 degrees angle.  It takes her at least 3 nights of soaking in a lavender bubble bath to be rid of the foul smelling liquid she sat in.

"All in the name of showbiz d'harling" she retorts when asked why she does it.

Martini Bianca is available to buy from Dr Digi for the glitzy price of £2.00 and the backing paper is none other than the Bloomin' 70's pack.  I've coloured Martini with Promarkers and added some stickles here and there and glossy accents over the liquid in the glass.

I've made a scalloped edged card and added a quote around the edge along with some green glitter glue for extra sparkle.  The oval is actually cut from a box of tissues that I kept in my stash from quite a few years ago - obviously just waiting for the day for Martini to arrive!  Green stain ribbon is from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

The Cheerful Stamp Pad:  My Kinda Gal
Craft-Dee BowZ:  Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow
Tammy's Scrappin Corner:  Vintage (1970's!)
Crafty Bloggers Network:  Tic Tac Toe (Ribbon, Stamps, Bling)

The Geek Shall Inherit The Earth

As you have become accustomed to me being late with blogging the new Jellypark releases, I thought I'd better not disappoint!  This one is called The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth and I've coloured her with Promarkers.

I decided to make a bookmark as I was struggling with the offcuts of paper that I had and wanted to use up as they were not really big enough to use!  The spotty paper is from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download and I have a feeling the blue gingham is from Polkadoodles but I'm not sure as I found it in the bottom of the large box of bits!

The sentiment comes with the image and I've layered it onto some black card.  The brads are not really brads but dots of Sharpie marker with glossy accents over the top!  The ribbons are from my stash and I really dread to think how long I've had them!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create:  Anything Goes
Anything But A Card:  Dust Off Your Old Supplies
The Squirrel and the Fox:  Here Come The Girls

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 51

It's Monday already and therefore time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge!  The sketch is a nice simple one:

There is no sponsor for the challenge so its just for fun although there is a winners badge up for grabs!  I've used papers from the very versatile I Love You Sew download from Funky Hand - at the moment there is a 25% off sale at Funky Hand so be quick and grab a bargain whilst you can!

The hearts I've cut from the paper and then layered them.  And I've folded the paper across the centre and used staples to hold it in place hence the line of pearls!  A bit of faux stitching here and there and some inking and the card is complete!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details please visit Fetch A Sketch!

Up, Up And Away!

The weather has been glorious today and I've managed to get 6 loads of washing done and dried on the line and that included a duvet!  So I am feeling rather Domestic Goddess!  So, as my reward, I have spent the remainder of my time indoors crafting!  Yes I know I should be outside enjoying the weather but with the boys playing out, I get some peace and quiet!

This card is for the I Heart Sketches current challenge and I've used a rather cute image from Jellypark which was a newsletter freebie awhile ago so its not yet available in the store to buy.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added stickles to the hearts on the balloon.  The bunting is available to buy - you get 4 different types for £1.25!

I'm not sure where the papers came from as I've had them in my stash a while and didn't write on the top where they came from!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I Heart Sketches:  Sketch followed
Dilly Beans:  Dots

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Bear With Star

Every other Friday - in between the challenge and new release posts - over at Jellypark we have reintroduced the stamp spotlight theme! So each fortnight one of the Design Team picks their favourite Jellypark stamp and we all make something to feature it!

It's my turn this fortnight and this is the one I've choosen - Bear With Star.  And I've sneaked in the Bunting too!  And if you are quick you can buy the Bear With Star digi for only 50p!!

I've coloured the images with Promarkers and handwrite the sentiment.  Papers are from The Clip Art Fairy (no longer available) and I made them into a wordbook.  Added some organza ribbon and embroidery thread bows and its complete!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 42 - Cute

Time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Cute

I've used a pre coloured Lili of the Valley topper and added stickles around the edge.  The patterned papers are from Prima - North Country collection 6x6.  I can't remember where I got the sentiment from but that has been stickled too and layered onto some deep red card I found in my stash.

Big red organza ribbon from my stash too!  Quite a quick and simple card to make - good job because I probably have another 14 of the images to go at!

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Burnt Bangers and Sheds

The smell of summer is still wafting through the air! Well, the smell of burnt bangers is! BBQ Bill is not enjoying this culinary extravaganza - the Char-Master-2000 is having an off day (he thinks it might be the dodgy charcoal briquettes he bought from the back of a van). And its blowing a gale so he's positioned himself in front of the trusty shed.

He just needs to be careful as flames, wind and wooden sheds don't mix......!

BBQ Bill is from Dr Digi and he's been coloured with Promarkers.  The grass is a Sizzix die, bunting is from Jellypark (I've written the sentiment) and the shed is a background bought from CraftsUPrint.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Baby Boy

Two posts in one day! Only because I forgot to blog this card yesterday as I was caught up in finishing off two special order cards for tomorrow evening and I knew I'd be out of the house and fit for not much by the time I got back tonight. Which is true!  I'm shattered and aching but it didn't rain and Samuel came first in the Cadet Honda karting class and he broke the 50 second lap barrier too!

Anyway, here is the card.  Blue cardstock from my stash along with the ribbon, button and vellum.  The vellum has been run through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and layered on top is a cute mini square from Lili of the Valley which is pre-coloured.

The charm I found at the bottom of a tin (had random things in it but nothing to eat!) and the sentiment is one of the new Jellypark baby sentiments.  Button from my stash too. And because it is a baby card, lashings of stickles and liquid pearl dots!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Just For You!

I am feeling rather pleased with myself with this card!  I've magically managed to use up some really strange offcuts - strange in the sense that they were odd shapes to use!  I've used offcuts from a Christmas card I made some months ago with the Santa Baby Wordbook and Paper pack downloads from Funky Hand.

I've used the strip offcuts from the wordbook as the main background and then the spotty ones are the papers.  The grass was cut with a Marianne Creatables die - it is supposed to be icicles but I use it for grass all the time!

The image is from From The Heart stamps - its part of the monthly progressive challenge - and I've coloured it with Promarkers plus watercolour pencils for the background.

I found the flowers and brad in my stash (they were lying on the table!) and I handwrote the sentiment.

It's been an exciting day today - needless to say I've been out of the house for 12 hours karting and yes, another trophy was won by Samuel!

Jellypark Challenge - Geeks and Nerds!

With a bit of luck this will be the last post of today!  And its for the new Jellypark challenge which launched today and the theme is:

Geeks and Nerds!

Such a fab theme!  I've used the fab Superboy digi from the store (only £1.25!) and coloured him with Promarkers and added foam pads to his reverse so he stands proud a little.

The backing paper is actually wallpaper that I snaffled a sample from B&Q some time ago.  Jacob enjoys trips to B&Q with me as we always have a look through the wallpaper samples to see if there is anything I can use!  And the best bit - it is free!

I've stamped the sentiment myself with my little Studio G alphabet stamps and I'm rather pleased with how it turned out as usually my letters are spaced too far apart but this time it worked fine!

Good luck with the Jellypark challenge!  The two new releases are available in the store to buy for only £1.25 each and with a bit of luck (read that as if I get some time and remember - bad combination!) I'll be blogging them over the weekend!  However, Samuel has another karting race on Sunday so I can strike off that day to get anything done other than get wet (it usually rains!)

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

The Creative Challenge Blog:  Anything That Flies (this Superhero flies!)
365 Day Cards:  Day 136 - Words of Wisdom
Sassy Studios Designs:  Black and White with a Pop of Colour

Polkadoodle Challenge 20 - Spring Colours / Pastels

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge (and this is my second post of the day - Jellypark is coming right up!) and the challenge theme for the week is:

Spring Colours / Pastels

I've sort of gone for the pastel theme, if you can imagine that a pale chocolate brown is a pastel colour!  But then again, chocolate is good for any season! I've made a calorie free cupcake with papers from the Fredericka cd that I've cut out and inked (and also glittered!)  The sentiment is from Cherryblossom Lane and I've also inked that too.

I've added some embroidery thread from my stash which pretends to hold the sentiment ticket in place (its actually the foam pad that holds it there!)  I have some really dinky card blanks that need using up so the cupcake has been added to one of those and I've trimmed it where the card blank stuck out.

Good luck with the challenge and don't forget our rules!

Simply Create Too Challenge - Anything Goes Midway Extra

It's another busy Friday here on my blog!  This is the first post of the day and is the Simply Create Too Midway Extra challenge for:

Anything Goes

I've used a fab digi from my Simply Create Too team-mate Diane - and I think its called Mommas Button Jar.  It was a free digi which has since been removed from her blog but I'm sure if you ask nicely she will send it to you!

I've coloured it with Promarkers and used papers from my stash along with some real buttons and some organza baby blue ribbon.  I really didn't need to do a lot with the image as it is so lovely on its own!

Good luck with our challenge - for more details pop over to Simply Create Too!

String of Hearts

I'm just about in the nick of time before the next lot of new release digi stamps come from Jellypark - this one is from almost 2 weeks ago - where does the time go?!  This one is called String of Hearts and is available to buy for just £1.25!

I've coloured her with Promarkers and used a fancy X Cut die for the two shapes.  I've even used up offcuts of paper from a previous project for this - hence the two 'sides' of the die cut either side of the image!

The papers are from Just For Jen download from Funky Hand - for every download sale a donation will be given to a Breast Cancer charity.  The embroidery thread and heart button are from my stash and I've added a dotted line of liquid pearls around the edge of the card to finish it off!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Twice The Celebration

Deirdery isn't afraid to overdo things and because of this she feels she deserves a good soak and time to read the paper. So, you may wonder what Deirdery has been upto.

Well, just look behind her at the wonderful new wallpaper - she choose it and hung it. So you can see why she is looking rather pleased with herself!

It was one of those Never To Be Repeated sales that Deirdery knew she had to grab what she could see before it was snapped up by another wallpaper enthusiast. And she bought that much, she could probably decorate at least another two or three rooms.....

I've coloured Deirdery with Promarkers and added stickles to the bubbles and liquid pearls to her bath cap.  I made the floor from an envelope that had been used and the skirting board is an offcut of card.  The lovely wallpaper is Echo Park Splash and I've added a few bling gems along the side.

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 50

Monday morning (already) so its time for a new Fetch A Sketch challenge!  The sketch is a nice and easy one:

And we are sponsored by the very cute Jellypark!  The winner of the sketch will get to choose from the store two digi's of their choice.

And here is what I came up with.  I've used the cute Typewriter digi image which I've coloured with Promarkers.  I've used a kraft card blank which I've shaped the corners and added a faux stitch around the edges.

The newspaper print is actually a vintage car magazine from December 1935!  I've glued it to a panel and then scrunched it a little before the glue dried.  The image sits inside the card on the aperture I cut with a Nestie die and again I covered this with the magazine.

And three half pearls finish off the card!  Good luck with the challenge and for more details, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Scraps

I am trying really really hard to use up the scraps from the rather large and very overflowing shoe box that I currently keep them in!  And I am trying to use up all the cute die cut toppers that I bought from the Lili of the Valley ebay store (although I've just bought some more......!)

So here is one card.  A lot more to go!  Papers are from Funky Hand - the checked blue is from the Craft The Year Away cd and the spotty paper is from the Rainbow Polkadots download.  I had to be careful with the spotty paper as it was not a full strip but you'd never know!

I've layered everything onto black card as the gingham wasn't big enough for the card blank and I didn't want to cut it down any smaller!  The image is from Lili of the Valley ebay shop which I've glittered around the edge.  Card candy from my stash along with a random sentiment I found on the table!

I am slowly getting through the pile - I hope!

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Girl and Kitten

The Jellypark Stamp Spotlight feature is back!  And the one we are featuring is this cutie - Girl and Kitten and is available to buy right now for only £1.25! I've coloured her with Promarkers and added a few sparkles on her dress.

Kraft cardstock used and I ran the middle panel through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The spotty pink paper has had its edges distressed and its from the Just For Jen download from Funky Hand.  I had just enough of the paper left from a previous project!  And to finish I've added some embroidery thread.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too Challenge - Anything Goes

We have another Simply Create Too challenge launching today and we've also announced the additions to our Design Team! So please pop over to Simply Create Too to say hello to all the girls!

The theme for the fortnight is:

Anything Goes

I've made a wordbook from white linen card and added the letters after they had been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I've added the Mr and Mrs bunting with vellum and then little die cut letters from the same card.  On each corner I've added a little bling.

The card was made for a work colleague and it was her sister that was getting married.  I was shown an invitation so I could get a feel for the colours (charcoal grey and orange) along with the image of the couple next to a tree.  So all this got incorporated into the card!

The image (Jellypark)has been coloured with Aquamarkers and watercolours then cut out with an X Cut fancy die.  All the ribbons are from my stash with exception to the orange as I bought it especially!

My work colleague loved the card and the recipients did too!

Good luck with the Simply Create Too Challenge!

I'd like to enter the following:

As You Like It:  Favourite Die / Punch (Cuttlebug letters are so easy to use and look great each time!)

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 41 - Kids

I'm running a little late this morning with blog posts - I blame the Bank Holiday Monday and thinking I'm on Wednesday when it is actually Thursday!

Anyway, time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Kids

I've used a cute decoupage image from La Pashe which I bought as a kit - I got lots of the sheets for a bargain price but they are no longer available.  Thre are quite a few layers to the image and really quite easy to cut out - great for watching telly at night!

The papers are from Echo Park - All I Want For Christmas and are leftover strips from making a large batch of Christmas cards the year before last - if you look closely you can just about see the join!

I've added some Christmas green ribbon that I found in my stash along with some jingle bells.  So a nice and quick card to make and I have plenty more sheets to go at too!

Good luck with the challenge - there are not many rules but one is that it has to be Christmas or Festive related!

Lost In Space!

Can there be anything worse than leaving the sat nav at home when you're not totally sure where you are going and you have a rather unnerving terrible sense of direction? Not a good combination. And poor Saucer Head is Lost In Space!

There are way too many planets that just look the same. And all that space junk just sitting there makes navigation in a one-man (or one-alien) space machine a little tricky at the best of times.

And please don't ask Saucer Head to reverse park. The space machine makes a terrible grinding and scraping sound. Something to do with the mechanics not being in the right place. And why try and reverse when you can just drive straight in?

Saucer Head is available to buy from the wonderful world of Dr Digi.  I've coloured him with Promarkers and added an acetate 365degree all-the-way-around windscreen, which has been fixed by adding glossy accents to his eyes and then adding the acetate over the top.  Cruel I know, but it works!

The backing papers I have a feeling are also Lost In Space as they came from the Funky Fairy many moons ago and I can't even find a link to them.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Craft A Scene:  Ships In The Night (Space Ship and its always night in Space!)

Friends Are Like Flowers

This is the first of two new release digi's from Jellypark -this one is called Friends Are Like Flowers and it can be yours for just £1.25!  I've coloured her with Promarkers plus watercolour pencils for the sky and foreground.

The papers are from Funky Hand and are left over from making a wordbook from Wishes and Kisses cd (if you look carefully you can see all the joins!)  I've used an X Cut fancy die for the image and then added a dotted line around the outside with a pink gel pen.

The butterflies are a new purchase that I bought with Amazon vouchers I get for completing surveys and they are Marianne Creatables.  The large one in the centre hides a rather large join!  And the ribbon was from the inside of a jumper!

Bicycle

This was the third image I decided on to make this card.  I'd already picked out the papers from the rather overflowing shoe box so I was determined to use those but the previous two images just didn't work.  And then I remembered this one!

The image is a Lili of the Valley pre coloured topper which I bought through their eBay store some time ago and I think you can only buy them this way now.  They are great for when I can't be bothered colouring!

The papers are a mixture - the spotty ones are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download and the checked one is a freebie from The Clip Art Fairy. And if you like a bargain, there is a half price sale on all Funky Hand download this Bank Holiday weekend!  But be quick - it ends 10pm GMT tomorrow!

Jellypark Challenge - Girly Girl

Firday's are always a busy blogging day for me and this is the third of the three posts I have today! Simply Create Too and Polkadoodles are up above!

It's time for a new challenge at Jellypark (and also new releases but I'll blog those over the weekend!)  And the theme for the fortnight is:

Girly Girl

I made this rather pink and sparkly wordbook for my neice Amy who turned one a few months ago.  I've used the Bear With Star digi and it's been coloured with Promarkers.  I've handwritten the sentiment in my best fancy handwriting!

I've also added the Bunting digi, coloured with Promarkers and tied on with embroidery thread.  I've made the wordbook using papers from Funky Hand and cutting out the letters then adding stickles for extra sparkle.  The ribbons are also from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!

Polkadoodle Challenge 18 - Anything But A Card

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge!  And this one is a nice one!  The theme for the week is:

Anything But A Card

I do like those kind of these as I sometimes get really tired of making cards - I get into a rut and its hard to climb out!

I've made a little hanging plaque by using papers from Paper Boutique Vol 1 and a rather cute Emma Canning digi which I've coloured with Promarkers.   The image is part of an exclusive cd collection and the images are really lovely to colour - easy but detailed.  If you see what I mean!!

I've used Spellbinder Nestabilites for the shape, aded some doodling and some silver cord to the reverse and its all complete!  Oh, and the black brads - well, they are Sharpie maker dots with glossy accents over the top!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too Challenge 36 - Midway Extra - Babies

It's Friday again (where are the weeks going?!) and although I've not blogged for 2 days, there will be 3 posts today!

We're at the midway point of the current Simply Create Too challenge and a reminder of the theme for the remaining week of the challenge is

Babies

I've used a cute onsie template I found HERE and used some hammered white cardstock to make them.  The wording is from Funky Hand (only 99p!) which I printed directly onto the card and then coloured with Promarkers.  I've dotted a line with a gel pen around the edges of the onsie and the frills have been made with a heart punch.

And I've added some half pearls to finish it off!  One of my cousins and his wife had a baby girl on Wednesday - Mirren - so I think the pink one will be going off to them up in Scotland!

Good luck with the Simply Create Too challenge!
