Incy Wincy Stitches Has Launched!

Incy Wincy has launched her new website - Incy Wincy Stitches. One of my favourites must be the embroidered buttons - and look what she's added it to!! One of my pin wheel card kits!! I liked the buttons so much I had some made for special Birthday cards!

Shabby Saturday Collection

I had quite a creative weekend again!

All cards made using the Shabby Saturday download from Funky Hand. I decided to see if I could make a collection of 5 cards using only backing papers from the collection and some extra bits for interest.

I printed all the papers onto either white card or clear vellum and did not re-size the image to fit the whole of the paper so that the detail is a little smaller.

This card uses the flowery background printed onto vellum with extra vellum flowers, black ric rac ribbon and a few gems.

This has 3 buttons for detail which have been attached by silver wire - holes made in the reverse of the card and the wire pushed through, twisted and then made into tear drops.

The sentiment, printed from the collection is attached to the card with black organza ribbon.

A light chalking around the edge adds a little depth to the card.

The bling one! Vellum dotty overlay in the centre of the card with added gems to pick out the pattern. Again, the edges of the card have been lightly chalked and the printed flowers have vellum layered over the top.

Bargain green organza ribbon which was originally wired but I took that out. The rest of the dotty vellum was used on this card with the sentiment attached to it.

And finally, my favourite! The remaining printed flower vellum attached to the front of the card by silky raspberry coloured ribbon (hole punched the holes so it threads through). I made some little swirls out of wire to echo the pattern on the flowers, however it was not that easy as I don't have pliers so my fingers took the brunt of it!

Tiny silver dots run around the edge of the vellum, made with a silver gel pen.

I'm quite pleased with what I have achieved! And they will be able to view as examples of the Shabby Saturday download on the Funky Hand Website very soon!!

Driving Test!

Was asked to make this card by CreativeClare from the Crafts Forum for her friend who had just passed her driving test, loved to shop and had a little red car! Her son is also shown on the card as he starts school in September.

Sunday

As the weather was fine (or it was when we set off) we decided to go to Witton Park in Blackburn so the boys could have a run around and to look at the animals there.

And here is one of the rabbits. I've never seen a rabbit so big! The picture is quite deceptive as there is nothing to compare it against, but it was a big rabbit!!

Unknown to us before we set off, there was a festival being set up for the day with a lot of different stalls. Samuel and I ventured into the tombola tent and we won a new Morgan pink purse for me and a fab tin of Roses!! All for the princely sum of £1!

I also spied some fuchsia hanging baskets. I have hanging baskets every year. I did used to grow everything myself from seed but just don't have the time these days although I usually buy the little plants and grow them on myself. However these hanging baskets were a bargain - £6 each or 2 for £10.

So I got 2 and it was a bit of a struggle to carry them both, heard the kids, carry the chocolates and try and rush as it had started to pour down! But I think the hanging baskets look fab!

And in the afternoon, I made some cards using the Shabby Saturday download from Funky Hand. Pics of those cards to follow later in the week!

Gav's Birthday

Macaila at work gives me a long list of card requests for the year ahead so I can plan and prepare! And this one is for her hubby!


He's into all sorts of sport and I could not resist the dotty backing paper! Macaila showed me a photo of Gav, and I must say, he does look like his Mini Me!!

Again??!!

Well, I've only been doing this blogging lark since 14 April and I now have 2 more bloggy awards!! This time from Funky Hand Design Team member Kath. She nominated everyone on her blog roll!! Bearing this in mind (and trying not to cross blog), I'm passing this to Swirly, Ethel, Incy, Daisie, JB*JB, Candles-by-Lisa and Saysie. Just because you all make me smile and giggle when I least expect it!

Be warned - this post has a bit of a pink theme going on!
My cousin Claire regularly asks me to make cards for her. And as I'd not done any crafting for a week whilst being on holiday, I was itching to get stuck into something! So I made these three cards (amongst others!) on the Saturday and Sunday evening. The vellum flowers and dotty backing are printed from the V Funky CD. Birthday sentiment is one of my own, and its finished off with a raffia ribbon tie.

Super bright pink card from a previous de-stash by Lynsey (I'm using it slowly!) The little bits of glitter are also courtesy of Lynsey from her latest de-stash - its Anita's 3d paint, silver glitter and I love using it!

And this one uses backing paper, again from Funky Hand, and I think its one of the earlier CD's (sorry can't remember as I print papers off and then forget where from!) The letters are die cuts from the Lollipop font by Sizzix that I bought from ebay a while ago, and they have been coloured with felt-tips. The pretty pearlescent flowers are also courtesy of Lynsey.

Flirty 30

One of my friends, Hayley (see yesterday's post about the New Job card) asked me to make a 30th Birthday Card for one of her friends. The image is Lola Rose from Pink Petticoat, hand coloured. The flowers, printed onto vellum are from V Funky CD and also the dotty backing paper too. Circle sentiment is from Now That's Funky.

I did make another one, for someone else at the same time (inspiration was in abundance!) but can't show you that one as its not her Birthday until later in the month...!!

New Job

Made a new job card for a friend who I used to work with. Actually she covered my maternity leave first time round and she was that good she stayed!!

Backing paper and and Lola Rose image stamp from Pink Petticoat. The image has been hand coloured with pencil crayons. I silver swirl doodled on the pearlescent lilac tag.

And dotted around the edge of the little tag. The letters are stamped (first time I've used stamps in 8 years!) and then gone over again with a cd black marker pen.

Hayley was suitably impressed with the card! Good luck with the new job!
