Cycling Cow

I've had this image in my stash for ages and kept looking at it and putting it back - that is until now when I've decided to use it as I'd found the perfect papers to use it with! I've coloured it with Promarkers and the papers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download. The ribbon is actually from the Scrap Store and is a strip of velvet which I've layered onto black card and then some more spotty card.

The flower is from my stash and I've made the swirly centre from fimo. I've also added the banners as the card looked a little bare at the top! Some inking around the edges and faux stitching and my card is complete!

Pretty In Pink

The Penny Black challenge this week is a lovely one! It is:

Pretty In Pink

I've used a cute hedgehog and daisy image which I've coloured mainly with Aquamarkers - the sky is coloured with watercolours and the deck chair Promarkers. The daisy was supposed to be more of a delicate pink however I think my Aquamarker collection needs expanding a little!

The paper is Basic Grey Sultry 6x6 and I've simply added a rather large and extravagant hot pink satin ribbon and bow! Also four little half pearls to the top right of the card. The image has been layered onto some pink card from my stash which I've rounded the edges, inked and then dotted a fine line around the edge of the actual image to keep it from 'falling out' so to speak!

Red and Yellow Daisies

Tell me if my photos are looking a little dark - they seem dark to me when I'm typing the blog posts but when I actually view the photos themselves, they look fine.....

Anyway, this card is for the Penny Black Saturday challenge which is a recipe:

3 papers, 1 ribbon and 1 charm

The image, of course is Penny Black and I bought the stamped image from here. The blue spotty papers are from Funky Hand Dreams Come True cd (Blue Magic collection) plus I've used some red card from my stash as the third paper requirement.

The ribbon is from my stash and was the perfect length too and I also found the charm there too (I'm sure they are multiplying as I found some that I didn't even know I had!)

The image has been coloured with Aquamarkers and I've added some faux stitching around the panels and also the card blank just to pull it all together. I bought a fair few Penny Black images from Linda so I'm hoping I'll get some time for a colouring marathon where I can try and get ahead of myself for a change!

Christmas Post

Another fine challenge over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week, which is:

Let It Snow

I've used this cute Penny Black image that I've had for ages, coloured it with watercolours and added some glitter glue for the snow. The brown paper is recycled - it was packing material previously and the gold snowflake was part of a parcel sticker that I rescued!


The red printed paper is from DCWV 6x6 Christmas Multi stack and I've layered it and the image onto some brown card from my stash. Ribbon is also from my stash.

Bit of inking and some corner rounding and it is complete! Another card to add to the box!

Last Minute!

Totally last minute I am today!! I wouldn't mind too much, but I coloured this image specifically for the Penny Black Saturday challenge last week and its not that the card took me that long to make either!

The challenge this week is a sketch:
And I decided to make a male themed Christmas card. So used a silver card blank, coloured the image with Promarkers and added some Christmas papers that I found in my stash, so not got a clue where they are from. The silver snowflake (which looks black in the photo!) is from Matalan in the January sale.

This will go in my Christmas box as I have two events in the run up to Christmas. I had a look in the box yesterday and was a bit shocked to see how depleted my stocks are! Must make amends - fast!!

Jolly Snowman

The Penny Black challenge this week is:

Don't Be Square

So, I'm being round! I am normally a squarish type of gal, but used a big circle to create this card with a slight straight edge at the top for the fold and one at the bottom as I found it wouldn't actually stand up!

I've used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder for the background and then inked it lightly with blue for some definition. I've inked the outer edge of the card too and also added some dots with a gel pen.

The ribbon is from my stash (I think I got it from Hobbycraft) and the pearlescent snowflakes are also from my stash. The Penny Black image has been coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue.

Vintage Christmas

And I've made this card with an image that I found pre-coloured in my box of images. Really like it when that happens! I've also used printed papers that I bought years ago from Mad About Cards - I think these are from the Traditional Download.

I've used pearlescent snowflakes and card candy too along with some corner rounding and inking. The burgundy paper is from the Scrap Store that I got ages ago and has been lurking waiting to be used!

Paper Patches

This was a quick card to make which is a good job as I'm upto my eyes in orders - it's all like buses - everything seems to come along at once!

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge is

Which basically is patchwork and I was sent a lovely download from Alison Sloan which is a digital scrapbooking kit but it lends itself quite well to physical cardmaking! The kit is called Little Sailor and one of the papers in the pack was perfect for this challenge!

You can buy the kit from here and it is under $3 which is a bargain! I've used a Stickeroo on to the same cardstock as the base, layered onto red and blue and added with foam pads. I've also used some grosgrain ribbon from my stash and some card candy.

I was looking for a sentiment to add but couldn't decide so have left it off!

Sunny Days

I already had this image coloured so this was a quickish card to make for the Penny Black Saturday challenge which is:

In The Garden

I've used papers from Funky Hand Retro Fun Wordbook download plus some corner rounding and inking. I've layered the image onto black and then hot pink cardstock using one of my Nestability dies as a template (I drew around it as I wanted it bigger than it would have cut).

The image has been coloured with watercolour paints and the sentiment is a Papermania magazine freebie that I've stamped with Whispers ink.

The card is actually brighter in real life and not quite as dull!

I've Finally Used My Promarkers!

Can you believe it?! I've finally succumbed and open my only pack (so far - more are in the post!) of Promarkers - the flesh ones and I've used them!! Only been sat on the dining table for about 4 weeks - I kept looking at them and humming and arring - just don't know why its taken me so long as I'll be using them on EVERYTHING now!!

As I've only got the flesh tones - I've only coloured the flesh bits on this Penny Black image, the rest is watercolour pencils! I have the Manga additions 3 pack and Summer pack on it's way to me as I had some Amazon gift certificates that were begging me to spend them...... I have a very beady eye on the Polkadoodle shop for some more packs as they are at a very very good price......!!

Check It Out (Checks)

So, after colouring the image (those Promarkers were really easy peasy to use!) I've used some blue textured paper from my stash - I think this came from the scrap store a while ago - plus papers from Clare Curd Signature Range paper - the Big One.


Bit of inking here and there and some doodling and that's it! Not too sure about the ribbon, but it was a bloody good match for the paper and image colouring!

Relax!

Another challenge that has eluded me for some time is Penny Black - time is sometimes never on my side!

And I've made this for my Mum for Mothers Day! The image was stamped for me by Jozza and I've coloured it with watercolour paints, pencils and a little liquid pearls.

The backing paper is Simply Elegant pack from Papermania 6x6 - I've inked the edges. I've layered the image onto some raspberry pearl card and then chocolate brown card too.

The organza brown ribbon is from my stash and I think I need to get some more as it is dwindling! No room for a sentiment so I've had to leave it off!

There Is No Blue! Honest!

The Penny Black Saturday challenge this week is:

White on White

So mine is, sort of. Although, as you can see, I had a little accident with a blue ink pad.... but I'm sure it's not that noticeable...!

I've used the snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder, organza white ribbon from my stash, pearlescent confetti snowflakes also from my stash, and although the photo doesn't show them too well, the snowflakes have little silver seed beads in their centres.

The Penny Black image has been coloured with watercolour paints and I've used on of my Nesties to cut it out. Simple!

Carol Singing

I think I am just about going to make this in time! It's been a while since I entered a Penny Black challenge and because I am now going to try and make all the challenges I enter as Christmas cards I could not resist this sketch:

And I knew I had the perfect image (somewhere)! I bought the pre stamped images ages ago from ebay, so I've coloured it with watercolour paints and inked the edges with black and brown inks.
The papers are Papermania 6 x6 A Wonderful Christmas Time and are lovely! The buttons are from my stash (if you can see them - sorry about poor lighting!) and the twine just adds that sort of something to it!

A quick card really. Don't know why it took me all week to make it! I have another of these images so think I'll make another one just like it!

Summer

It's been a while since I managed a Penny Black challenge, so I was doubly determined this week to make sure I made a card! The theme is:

Summer

I used a portion of a sheet of 8 x 8 paper that Jozza sent me absolutely ages ago and I've not used (looked at it a few times and then put it back!) And funnily enough, the flowers are also from Jozza too! The brads are mine and so too is the ribbon.

A fairly quick card to make - quick water colouring of the image and then layered onto some golden yellow card then onto the actual card, added the flowers and ribbon and that's it! Oh, I doodled a black line around the outside of the card and image because it just needed completing. The image, I've not got a clue what it is called, but it is from the batch I bought ages ago from ebay - pre stamped and probably highly dodgy.

I bought this image quite a while ago from ebay - it was pre stamped and I've coloured it myself. Probably highly illegal to buy this way, but it meant I got a range of images without a huge outlay on stamps!

The backing paper is big mini dots download from Pink Petticoat, the ribbon is from my stash and I've corned and inked the edges on the card. The image has been layered onto a piece of card from the scrap store. I've coloured the hedgehogs with watercolour pencils and then added some glitter glue on the tutu's!

Blooming Gorgeous!

I do miss entering the Penny Black Challenges and I'm lucky enough to have quite a collection of stamped images sent to me by my fab Funky Hand DT mates! Plus I am the very proud owner of a single PB stamp and I have some Stickeroos too - so I have no excuse!

Anyway, this week, the challenge is:

Blooming Gorgeous

This lovely cute image was stamped for me by Jozza and I'd already coloured it in some time ago as I wanted to use it on a different project, but ran out of time. So, its been coloured with watercolour paints, layered onto some pink and white spotty backing paper that I found (so don't know what it is!) and then used up some larger scraps of paper printed from Funky Daze.

The sentiment was part of a recent freebie selection, from, I think, the Do Crafts magazine and the ribbon is from my stash. A simple and quick card to make, but for some reason, it took me ages! Why does that happen?!!

The Penny Black challenge this week is a dream! It is:

As you can see, I've made the card with the Patti Picklicious template and the papers (left over from the previous card - waste not want not!) Again I've inked the edges with chestnut Whispers and a pink ink and used a white gel pen. The image is a stickeroo with the flowers and ribbon from my stash. The button is another from Peggy Crafts.

I think the card needs a sentiment, just don't know what or where!

A Blue Dog

It's been a while since I managed a Penny Black challenge, but as I like a sketch, I was determined to do this one! Plus I had coloured the image a while ago and needed to use it!




Apologies for the slightly lopsided photo - I blame trying to get the table set for tea and try and take a photo of my card before the light went and stopping the boys from arguing - who says I can't multi task?!


Anyway, the blue backing card is all from my stash - the darker is a lovely slightly textured card but does not show up in the photo. The star printed paper is from Funky Daze.




I've double inked all the edges - in black and also dark blue just to take a bit of the blackness away. The image has been coloured with watercolour paints and from what I remember it only took me a few minutes.

The sentiment is my little Studio G alphabet stamp.

I liked this sketch and will probably use it again.

Penny Black Challenge - Week 40

It's week 40 of the challenges over on Penny Black, and this week it is a sketch

Admittedly, I am just about in time for this one but I did make it a few nights ago and then forgot to take a photo of it.

The image was sent to me by Kath and I've water coloured the image. The backing paper is a lovely lightly ribbed green thin card that I got in a kids pack some time ago from a book club thing at nursery. See how precise I am?! I've used a Martha Stewart punch on it and inked the edges. Oddments of ribbon have been added across the green card and I've used two colours of Prima Esprit flowers and brads and then cheated and used card candy on the edges!

Penny Black Recipe Challenge

I've not managed a Penny Black challenge for a week or two so thought I'd better try this weeks!

RECIPE 3, 2, 1
3 Brads, 2 Ribbons, 1 Flower

And here is what I came up with! I did toy with the idea of using the brad in the flower as one of my allowance but it didn't look right. So the 'brads' are actually card candy because I didn't have anything that matched. The ribbons, which just happened to match (surprised?!) are from Blackburn market (grosgrain) and from a top (silly for putting ribbon loops inside but at least I benefit!) The beautiful flower is actually 3 layered together in a lovely deep purple and a chocolate brown and it came as a freebie a few years ago when I used to buy all my Sizzix dies from a lady in the USA. With every order she always sent me a little package with lovely embellishments, brads and flowers - I used to be more excited opening that than using the dies!

Anyway, the mouse and cork has been coloured with watercolour paints and I've chalked the background as it was a bit stark. The bubble has been glitter glued.

Backing papers are from the lovely 6 x 6 Elegant Dovecraft papers and one pattern that I've not used before. I really do like this card and am pleased with my little self!
