Strongo The Magnificent

Here is Strongo the Magnificent from Dr Digi looking rather resplendent in his strong man suit!  I've coloured him with Promarkers and used Echo Park Circa 1934 papers.  The sentiment and stars are an X Cut die and I've used black card offcuts from my stash.

The layers behind Strongo have been cut with an unbranded metal die and then inked.

Daring Card Makers - Masked Magic

Time for a new challenge over at Daring Card Makers and this week the challenge is

Masked Magic

I did try some masking with stamps but it went very wrong so decided to do something digitally using one of the monsters from the Little Monsters download collection from Polkadoodles.  I used a free editing software and overlaid one of the papers from the collection then 'rubbed out' elements - his horns, eyes, arms and legs.

I've then coloured these with Promarkers for a bit of depth.  The blue papers are also from the download bundle and I've added a star bunting die cut plus half pearls, cocktail stick and handwritten sentiment.

Edited to add - the free software is Be Funky and I used the layers bit and 'rubbed' out the bits I wanted to stay white.  Just have a play around!

Good luck with the challenge!

Colour Crazy Challenge Week 4 - Little Miss Muffet

Welcome to a new Colour Crazy Challenge!  This week we are sponsored by Little Miss Muffet stamps and the theme, as always is

Anything Goes

I've used Polka Dot Pals Andy and Polka Dot Pals Ellie plus I've used the add on faces (digital).  I've coloured both images with Promarkers plus used papers I found in my stash when having a well-overdue clear out!  I've used my own star shape template plus added X Cut star die cuts with card from my stash for Andy.

For Ellie, the card base was an offcut of card plus again papers I found in my stash - the gold card was actually packaging from something I bought ages ago and I had to be careful not to include the bits of sellotape I couldn't get off it!.  X Cut star dies cuts plus Clearly Besotted dies for the sentiment.

Good luck with the challenge!

I've coloured him up with Promarkers and used retired Funky Hand papers - Love, Love, Love.  Used Spellbinder dies for the circle and fancy circle dies plus black card from my stash for layering.  The embroidery thread is also from my stash.

Time for a new challenge and theme over at Daring Card Makers and this week it is:

Black and White With a Pop of Colour

I've made a star card using my own template and it fits neatly on a sheet of A4 - a white gel pen was used to create a faux running stitch around the edges and I used X Cut star die cuts and the arrows.

The white, silver and red card are all offcuts - I hate to throw anything away!  The sentiment in the centre has been cut using a Cuttlebug die.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Polkadoodle Challenge - Anything Goes or Winter Birthday

Hello!  Time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the theme as always is

Anything Goes

However the DT were challenged to A Winter Birthday.  I've used Winnie Chic cutting die for the body, background hair, hairband, dress and present.  For the hair bow and shoes I used Miss Winnie cutting die and for the top layer of hair I used Winnie Ballerina cutting die - all of the dies are compatible and interchangeable with one another so endless possibilities!

I used the skin tone card from the card stock pack and the hair is card from my own stash along with glittery card and half pearls.

I added a scored border around the edges of the card, some half pearls from my stash (tiny ones for her shoes!) plus a Sizzix tag which I've hand written and some lovely aqua organza ribbon, again from my stash.

The challenge is sponsored by Dr Digi and the prize is 2 single images from the store.

I've used Selfie Santa and coloured it with Promarkers plus coloured pencils for the background.  The papers are from my stash - I've been having another clear out (seems to regularly happen over the Christmas break!) plus the ribbon is only a really small piece that I found in my stash and it was a perfect match!  Half pearls also from my stash.

I've added a faux running stitch around the edges of the image and layers.

I also used the Mitred frames die from Polkadoodles then layered them onto card.  The arrows are a little X Cut die as is the rosette die.  I've handwritten the sentiments and used a cocktail stick to add the Happy and Birthday arrows.

Daring Card Makers - Elemental Inspiration

I did a stint at the start of last year as a Guest Designer for Daring Card Makers which I loved so imagine how long it took me to reply when I was asked if I'd like to join the team permanently?!  Not that long, I can tell you!

This is my first 'full time' challenge and as its the first Friday challenge of the month, its an inspiration challenge and the requirement is to use at least three elements from the photo:

I've used papers that I found in my stash when having a clear out and a tidy up over Christmas - they are from the now not available Funky Hand - Now That's Funky cd - Coffee With Pals collection.  I only had small pieces of the printed sheets so had to be creative with what I had!

I've used handles from a Primark bag plus coloured offcuts of card with Promarkers so the die cut flowers would match the colour pallet.  The charm is from my stash along with the half white pearls and I've used a Cuttlebug die for the lettering.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Winnie Unicorn!

Another make using the Winnie dies from Polkadoodles! This time I've made Winnie Ballerina into a little unicorn!  I coloured her hair with watercolour pencils and added a little sparkly tail and horn (you just can't see the sparkle too well in the photo).

I used the paper pack for her dress layers plus the sentiment is taken from the Ula Be A Unicorn digi.

I've distressed the edge of the background paper which I found in my stash (I had a clear out / tidy up over Christmas) and I've coloured the sentiment strip with coloured pencils.  Embroidery thread and unicorn charm are from my stash.

Polkadoodle Challenge - Anything Goes or Thank You

It's time for a new Polkadoodle challenge and the DT have been given

Thank You

As their theme.  I've used these really pretty acrylic stamps from Stampin' Unicorn (Polkadoodles stocks their products) - Tall and Elegant.  I've stamped the image directly on to some off cuts of card stock and then coloured them with Aquamarkers plus added some glass embellishments to the flowers.

The papers are all from the Stampin' Unicorn Butterfly Dreams 6x6 paper pad and I've used a Thank You stamp that I found in my stash to finish off the cards.
