Soothing Sundae

I'm needing one of these after spending the day shouting, screaming and cheering Jacob's school athletics team on in Blackpool.  They were representing the borough at the Lancashire finals where they finished 7th out of approximate 1,000 schools that took part.  So proud parent!

This is Sundae from Dr Digi.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the cherry and seed beads on the top of the ice cream.  It's been added to the card blank with foam pads for depth and I've scored a border around the edges.

Nice n simple!

From The Heart Stamps Sketch Challenge 164

Time for a new sketch with a double twist challenge at From The Heart Stamps! Don't forget that you can either follow the sketch or either of the two twists or any combination of the three that you want, the only stipulation is that you must use a FTHS. If you don't have any of the images, pop over to the store as there are some freebies available.

Plus, there is a progressive Stamp of the Month challenge - if you buy the image for February, you will receive the one for March for free and so on. Hogs and Kisses is the SOTM for February and a new one will be available for March  The sketch is below which I've used and also both the twists!

I've used Birdbath Chick, coloured with Promarkers and a little glitter glue and then cut the image with an X Cut oval die and then cut the card base with the largest die.  All the 'bubbles' are from a fab bubble plate metal die I bought from ebay - there are quite a few different sized bubbles and great for a card like this and uses up scrap card from my stash.

I've used a Sizzix scalloped edge die and hand wrote the sentiment.

The sketch is above - good luck with the challenge!

Daring Card Makers Guest Designer - Tear It Up

Another new challenge over at Daring Card Makers and the theme for the week is:

Tear It Up

I've used a free chalkboard stamp I found on the internet and have carefully torn the edges.  The patterned paper is a no longer available Funky Hand creation and are left overs from making wordbooks and I've layered it onto some more torn card.

I've made the bunting and added the bakers twine bows plus half pearls are from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Morning!  Time for a new Polkadoodles challenge.  The theme as always is:

Anything Goes

But the Design Team were challenged to Add Some Lace or Ribbon.  I've used Belle Papillon papers, distressing the edges and also used one of the tags as the focal point.  The butterfly is left over from a previous project and I've curled the wings slightly for extra depth.

Waxed cord, lace and pearl heart ribbon slider are all from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 127 - No Squares Allowed

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

No Squares Allowed

I've used a Tinsel Tots decoupage sheet from La Pashe, layering up with foam pads.  The stripy card is left over from a previous project and its from Funky Hand which is no longer available.  Ribbon, embroidery tread and bell from my stash.

The holly and berries are X Cut die cuts and I've made the banner from scrap card and wooden sticks plus beads from my stash to cap the sticks.  I've hand written the sentiment.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to Crimbo Crackers.

Chalkboard Birthday

A quick card which actually took quite a while as I couldn't get the bow to look right.  I've used a free  chalkboard download I found on the internet, printed it onto linen effect white card, trimmed it, leaving a white border and then layered it onto hot pink card and then again onto black card from my stash.

The ribbon is from my stash and actually matches the layered card although the photo colour doesn't show that.  Shoe charm from my stash.

The sketch is below which I've used and also the twist - Child's Play.  I've used Nerd Girl Potion, coloured with Promarkers and glossy accents on her large glasses.  She's been added with foam pads for extra depth.

I found the silver card blank in my stash during the clear out, papers are a 6x6 paper stack from the poundshop- Craft Inspirations.  I've used Sizzix Round-a-Bout dies for the sum (glossy accents added over the top) and Clearly Besotted for the sentiment.

Little Fairy

Another card ticked off the request list! I've used a Lili of the Valley square and rubber stamp sentiment and layered them on to some scrap shiny blue card I had in my stash.  The pretty blue and white polkadot paper is a magazine freebie from a few years ago.  Flowers and buttons from my stash.

The blue organza ribbon is from my stash and the darker blue satin ribbon is from the Poundshop - Craft Inspirations brand.  Really good value as there are 4 different shades on the roll and 5 meters of each.  The number 5 is a Cuttlebug die cut.

I've got lots of Birthday card requests on the go and usually I have a number of different projects that I work on at the same time and this was one of them. I've made a lego brick card using an X Cut square die plus a 'bubble' from a die I bought from ebay.

The highlight is added with a white gelly roll pen and the sentiment has been stamped with a rubber stamp I found in my stash during the big tidy up / clear out before Christmas.

Simple Butterflies

A quick card to share that turned out a little different from how it started; I wanted to use both Memory Box dies for the butterfly but forgot that they only partially cut the image - the 'body' bit remains uncut.  So I found a scrap of card that matched the card base and cut three of the solid wings from the panel and then cut three of the wings with baby pink vellum and added the body and antenna afterwards.

The sentiment is a double layered Clearly Besotted die cut and I've dotted a border around the panel with a silver gel pen and connected the butterflies with another dotted line.

Little Footballer

I'm quite enjoying the new A5 X Cut honeycomb embossing folder I treated myself to.  I've used a scrap piece of card for the background and then layered it onto some black card from my stash.

The topper is from Lili of the Valley - it's one of the small squares so I've layered it onto some more black card and then added grass, using a Marianne Creatables die (it's actually icicles but upside down and in green it looks like grass!)

The sentiment is a retired Lili of the Valley rubber stamp and the number is a Cuttlebug die, layered onto an ebay die and another Cuttlebug die to get the right sized layers.

Wooden Anniversary

A nice and simple Wedding Anniversary card - made for my cousin for her husband.  As it is their 5th Anniversary and the modern theme is wood, I've used some wood on the card!  The little figures are Studio Calico - the largest ones in the pack and I've added three wooden hearts (ebay puchase).

The heart is an X Cut die, charm and waxed cord from my stash and the sentiment (Lili of the Valley rubber stamp - retired) has been stamped with brown Memento ink.

I've embossed the front of the card with a Sizzix A4 folder.

I'm on the third week of a four week stint for being the Guest Designer at Daring Card Makers and this week the challenge is:

Geometric Patterns

I've used an X Cut honeycomb embossing folder, cutting out some of the pattern to create a football.  Actual football created by cutting a circle (X Cut die) and then adding the previous bits I cut out.

Grass has been hand cut and layered with waxed cord from my stash.  Hope you can join in the challenge - pop over to the blog for more inspiration!

Anything Goes or Show Some Love

I've used Over The Threshold digi stamp from Work and Play Vol 12, coloured with Promarkers and added some small playing cards (from a cracker!)  Die cut letters are Sizzix and I've added half pearls, charm and ribbon from my stash.

The card base uses red card from my stash and its a stepper fold shaped which took a bit of work in getting it to stand and not lean to one side so had to weight it properly!

Good luck with the challenge!

Stars

I have a lot of papers that I've printed over the years in my off-cut box - the ones that I've used here are from Funky Hand - Wishes and Kisses which is, sadly, no longer available as Funky Hand is no longer trading.

I've used Clearly Besotted dies for the sentiment (and added a tiny star punch on the letter i).  The other stars are an X Cut die - the smaller dies I've added with foam pads for extra depth.

The large inverted scalloped edge die is from ebay.  And to finish, I've used a black fine liner pen plus some sparkly thread from my stash.

We're back with a brand new Stamp Of The Month! This month is Hogs and Kisses and the Design Team have lots of inspiration for you!  This is a progressive challenge and if you play along and use this image, you will receive the next month's Stamp Of The Month for free!

Faith is slowly getting back on her feet so please bear with us if there are any delays.

I've coloured the cute image with Promarkers and layered it onto some hot pink card I found in my stash.  The sentiment comes with the image set and I've added it as a tab to the image.  Card blank is actually a left over strip from making a square card - I never throw these strips away as they always come in handy!

The hot pink ribbon, half pearls and double heart charm are also from my stash.

From The Heart Stamps - Sketch Challenge 162

Time for another From The Heart Stamps sketch with a twist challenge! The sketch is below and you can either follow the sketch, or use the twist or the colour inspiration. If you are feeling brave, you could try two or all three! The only rule is that you must use a From The Heart Stamp in your creation.

I've used Little Snowman and coloured him with Promarkers plus glitter glue on his hat and I've dotted liquid pearls around the edges.  I've used an X Cut die for the shape and used an off cut of card for the card base.  I found the printed paper in my stash and the Card Candi were found in the Great Christmas Clear Out!  Charm also from my stash.

A random winner from all the entries that meet the rules will get to choose two images from the store.  For more details, inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and how to link up, please pop over to the blog.

Clear Out

I had a major tidy up and clear out just before Christmas of all my craft stash - finding things I'd forgotten I had, didn't realise I had or just did not use any more.  One of those that I'd forgotten about was two silk Gerber flowers, one of which I've used on this card:

I've used Craft Asylum papers which I got in the Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (my early Christmas present as bought in the Black Friday sale), adding a faux running stitch around the edge with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.  I've made the bunting and slightly curled the edges.  Waxed string and brads are from my stash (again, found the brads in the tidy up!)

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted however the word dies are now retired and no longer available.

Here is another of the Lili of the Valley squares from my stash that I'm trying to use up!  I've used a scalloped edged card blank and lightly distressed papers from Dovecraft - Back to Basics 3.

I've used off cuts of the paper to put behind the die cut stars on the banner and added half pearls to the corners plus a dotted line around the edge of the image with liquid pearls.

And it's always good to have some baby cards to hand!

It's my second challenge over at Daring Card Makers as February's Guest Designer.  And the theme is:

Mirror Mirror

This Dr Digi image was the first thing I thought of - here is Bath Time Deirdery in all her splendor, coloured with Promarkers.  Papers are from my stash and I've made it look like wallpaper.  Floor boards made with an off cut of white card and I've added the boards with Promarkers, ink and a black fine liner pen.

The mirror has been made with a piece of silver mirror card and added to a wooden frame.

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 126 - Shaker Card

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

Shaker Cards

I've used a cute digi image from Cuddly Buddly Crafts, coloured with Promarkers and glitter glue.  I've not made many shaker cards before so its been a bit trial and error - I put too much shaker stuff (seed beads and some bargain 'snow' I bought a few years ago (big bag!) and I knew it would come in useful one day!)

I've used my Memory Box Frostyville Wreath die to cover the circle aperture (X Box die).  I cut two of the wreaths and joined them together (I think it took 1.5)  Tag is a Sizzix Scalloped Tag die and I've dotted liquid pearls around the edges.

Tiny stars are punched from left over bits of card and half pearls are from my stash along with the bakers twine.

Good luck with the challenge!

Cute Football

I know I say it every year, but this year I am really going to try and use up some of the stash I already have! I had a tidy up and clear out just before Christmas and found loads of stuff that I'd forgotten I had or had never used so it got sold on ebay!

However, the cute Lily of the Valley toppers were never not going to be used, so I've had a look through them and decided that this one would be good to get going with!

I've used a kraft card blank and then papers from Papermania - For Him 6x6 stack (again found in my stash along with a full unopened pack.....!)  I've distressed the edges with scissors and used a die for the circles, using random off-cuts of card from my stash and a kraft tag (again found in the clear out!)

I've gone for the twist and colour option, using 5 Party Birds, coloured with Promarkers and layered onto black and pink card from my stash.  Ribbons and cupcake charm are also from my stash.  The sentiment comes with the image and I've used some papers that I found in my stash.  Buttons are also from my stash.

Amy

I've made this simple card for one of my nieces who turns 5 at the end of the month.  I had some cardboard letters in my stash which I painted with white acrylic paint as a primer before I added two coats of pink glitter glue.

I've handwritten the sentiment onto a Sizzix scalloped tag and attached it to the letter Y with ribbon recycled from a clothes tag.

Because the cardboard letters had warped with all the glitter glue I'd used, I had to sit on them once added to the card to flatten it!

To finish, I've scored a line around the edge of the card to create a border.

Cake

A quick card using Lily of the Valley squares which are pre coloured so super quick!  I've used a scalloped edge card blank from The Works and layered the image onto some hot pink card I have in my stash and rounded the edges.

The ribbons are also from my stash along with the cute cupcake charm and buttons.  I had a tidy up and clear out just before Christmas and found a load of stuff that I either didn't know that I had or had forgotten I had (or both!)  So now its all neatly organised in various tubs and plastic drawers and the stuff I no longer wanted got sold on ebay.  The upside is that I now have more buttons that I know what to do with hah hah!

I've glittered the edge of the image although it doesn't show up too well in the photo.  Card probably took around 20 mins to make plus drying time.  Nice n quick!

Daring Cardmakers Guest Designer - Photo Inspiration

I'm really pleased and honoured to be asked to be the Daring Card Makers Guest Designer for February!

The first challenge of February is a Photo Inspiration and you're asked to pick at least 3 design elements from it.  The photo is:

And I've used, the clock, key and also the fancy filigree on the clock plus the cogs.  Backing papers are from the now retired Funky Hand download - Steam Funk, with a Birdcage die from The Works which I've cut from kraft card.  Charms and waxed cord are from my stash and I've used a Spellbinders die for the main shape which again has been cut from kraft card with Steam Funk printed over it.

The flowers are made from offcuts of paper and have been scrunched up before layering - the die is from Polkadoodles - Flowers 2 and I've topped it off with Card Candi.

Good luck with the challenge and see you again next week!

From The Heart Stamps Blog Hop - Love and Friendship

From the Heart Stamps is back!!  Faith is getting much better and is drawing and designing again which I am sooooo pleased about because I've really missed the team and the wonderful stamps!

So, we kick off the month with a hop - the theme is:

Love and Friendship

You need to start at the beginning of the hop which is the blog, as you hop through the team, don't forget to leave a comment on each of our blogs as you could be a random winner to choose a stamp from the store!

Here is my card - I've used Bunny Love, coloured her with Promarkers and used two fancy X Cut dies for the shapes - layered up with foam pads for depth.  The sentiment comes with the image and I've printed it directly onto the card stock and added a button from my stash underneath.

To finish, I've added a dotted border of liquid pearls.

You should have arrived at me from Michelle, don't forget to leave me a comment before you hop back to the FTHS blog.

Good luck!  The hop will end on Sunday 5 February at 6am EST and winners will be announced on Wednesday 8 February.
