Daring Card Makers Challenge - Oh Christmas Tree

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme for the week is:

Oh, Christmas Tree

I've gone clean and simple this week, using a die from The Works and then added various sized white half pearls here and there.  I've layered the tree onto a silver pearlescent card and then added to the card blank.

I've dotted liquid pearls around the edge of the first panel for depth.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Little Miss Muffet Challenge - 192 - Anything Goes

It's time for a new Little Miss Muffet Challenge and the theme, as always is

Anything Goes

The challenge lasts for two weeks and you could win a $10 gift certificate to the store!  I've used Pick Me Up Truck, coloured with Promarkers and I came across the papers when looking for something else!

The 'sand' is an embossed cardstock 12x12 stack from The Works (£3 for 24 sheets) and the aqua and patterned paper were in a starter pack when I bought my Sizzix machine.

Sizzix die cut tag that I've handwritten plus a bit of freehand doodling with a black fine liner pen and the clouds are Memory Box dies.  Good luck with the challenge!

Pud

A quick card from me today using Xmas Pud from Dr Digi, coloured with Promarkers plus a little glossy accents added to the berries.  I've used a kraft card blank and added a piece of printed burlap from a 6x6 pad from The Works which I've layered on to a random piece of pale gold card I found in my stash that has been recycled from some packaging.

The waxed cord is from my stash.  I'd like to enter the following:

Hamish McDougal

I have a number of vintage maps taken from car magazines (I think they were freebies within the publication) from the 1960's.  I've added Hamish McDougal from Dr Digi and coloured him with Promarkers.  He's attached to the card with a strip of acetate (recycled from a school shirt collar - the unnecessary plastic bit that I forget to remove before I wash the shirts through.......)

The banner is a clear stamp from The Works - its part of a larger set and I've used another stamp from my stash for the sentiment.  I've added the shading myself for a more vintage feel.

Hellebores

A quick card using a quick sketch (see below) and using a Lili of the Valley Simply Print sheet - Hellebores.  Printed directly onto linen effect cardstock and layered onto a 6x6 sheet from Happy Watercolours pad from The Works.  The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley - Happy Circular Sentiments.

The buttons and embroidery thread are from my stash and I've added a border of dotted liquid pearls around the edge of the card.

First Birthday

My youngest cousins' son will be one in a few weeks and this is the card I made for him from one of my other cousins!

I've used another cute Lili of the Valley Simply Print images - Fast Asleep Boy, printed onto white linen effect card.  I've used the same card for the bunting on which I've handwritten his name.  Half pearls, ribbon and teddy bear charm are all from my stash.

I've layered the image onto a Make and Create (Poundshop I think) Happy Watercolour 6x6 pad as it matched one of the ribbons perfectly.  The edge of the card and image have been glittered with iridescent glitter glue and the sparkly number is from The Works.

Score!

A really quick card to make using the Lili of the Valley Simply Print sheets - I printed this one as two on A4 card and then layered it onto some pale blue card I found in my stash and some kraft card (The Works, £2 for 10 sheets of A4).

I've coloured the background using inks and watercolour pencils and then added the banners down the side, letters cut using a Cuttlebug die and then added a button and waxed cord to the bottom right corner.

From The Heart Stamps Sketch Challenge 166

It's time for a new From The Heart Sketches with a double twist challenge!  You can either follow the sketch or one of the twists, or both or all three!  The only stipulation is that you use a FTHS in your creation - there are freebies in the store if you don't have any of the stamps.

I've used Monster Sundae and coloured it with Promarkers.  The spotty paper is from a paper pack from The Works - M&C Boutique - some are embossed (as is this) and others are glittered.  The red shiny card, embroidery thread and half pearls are from my stash.  The sentiment comes with the image.

The sketch is below along with the twists - colour and brief.

Good luck with the challenge!  For more inspiration pop over to the blog.  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Daring Cardmakers Guest Designer - Photo Inspiration

I'm really pleased and honoured to be asked to be the Daring Card Makers Guest Designer for February!

The first challenge of February is a Photo Inspiration and you're asked to pick at least 3 design elements from it.  The photo is:

And I've used, the clock, key and also the fancy filigree on the clock plus the cogs.  Backing papers are from the now retired Funky Hand download - Steam Funk, with a Birdcage die from The Works which I've cut from kraft card.  Charms and waxed cord are from my stash and I've used a Spellbinders die for the main shape which again has been cut from kraft card with Steam Funk printed over it.

The flowers are made from offcuts of paper and have been scrunched up before layering - the die is from Polkadoodles - Flowers 2 and I've topped it off with Card Candi.

Good luck with the challenge and see you again next week!

Lilac Birthday

Sometimes I find an image and just 'have' to buy it!  This one is just that - from Kenny K - Happy Hour which I've coloured with Promarkers and added a bit of sparkle to the glass.

Papers are from a bargain £1 stack from The Works and I've cut the sentiment with Clearly Bessotted dies (I've chopped the loopy bits off the start and ends of the words).  Half pearls, ribbon and charm are all from my stash.
