Green Pants

It's been a while since these pants have had an airing. And what better way than to enter the Whimsie Doodles challenge which is:

Polkadots

I've used one of the images from the Christmas Undies digi set and printed it three times, coloured with Promarkers and added to the card with an oddment of string from the scrap store. I've used some lime green eyelets from my stash and stamped the sentiment with a little wooden Studio g alphabet stamp set.

The green card is from my stash (I dread to think how long I've actually had it!) and the black with white polkadots is from Funky Hand - Dreams Come True.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments: Polkadots
Aud Sentiments: Make Someone Smile
  • Image: Whimsie Doodles, coloured with Promarkers
  • Sentiment: Studio G alphabet stamps
  • Papers: Dreams Come True cd from Funky Hand
  • Everything else: My stash

Little Boys

I won my choice of 5 Poodle Parlour images in a recent challenge and this image was one that I picked! The Poodle Parlour challenge is:

Red, White and Blue

I've followed the Papertake Weekly sketch for inspiration and the blue papers are from a now retired Funky Hand collection - Boys and Girls. The red spotty is from Rainbow Polkadots download from Funky Hand and I've used some shiny red card from my stash for layering along with some Card Candy and a button.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers. So if you like cute images that are a dream to colour, pop over to the Poodles Parlour!

  • Papers: Boys and Girls and Rainbow Polkadots download from Funky Hand

And here is my second card of today and the second new release from Jellypark! You can find the image HERE. I've coloured Grandad with Aquamarkers and used some left over bits from my overflowing shoe (large!) box and all come from Funky Daze cd from Funky Hand. The sentiment is part of the digital image.

Princess and Flowers

Isn't this such a cute image? It's one of two new releases from Jellypark and you can buy it HERE. Just don't blame me if other stuff ends up in your shopping basket!

I've coloured her with Aquamarkers and used one of my Nesties to make the shape - I used it as a template. The papers are from Dovecraft - Tea House 6x6 paper pack which I bought on an impromptu visit to a local Dunelm mill a few weeks ago and the pack was only £2.99! Bargain!

I've also used some lilac pearlescent paper I've had in my stash for absolutely ages and thought I'd better use some of it it!

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! The theme this fortnight is:

Your Favourite Animal

Now I have no favourite and we don't have any pets but I could not resist making Betsy from the Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3 cd! I've used the pre coloured A5 template, cut out all the elements and then layered them up with foam pads - you even get a layered reverse of the card too which you can use if you want! All I've added are glossy accents to the nose and wobbly eyes - everything else is from the cd! And if you want a blue neckerchief and bow then they are on there too plus extras such as bones and bowls! Good luck with the challenge, you have two weeks to enter and for more details, please visit the challenge blog!

Jellypark Challenge 2 - Photo Inspiration

It's time for a Jellypark challenge! We really enjoyed visiting all the entries for our first challenge and so glad you liked the snowman Claire offered!

For our second challenge we have a photo for inspiration:

So you can pick which ever elements you like to create your card. I've used a Papermania scalloped edge card blank and this sweet Jellypark image - Little Girl and Balloon which I've coloured with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the balloon.

The ribbon came from Hobbycraft and the papers are from my offcut box. I've dotted liquid pearls around the edges of the card and doodled a line around the other elements.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the challenge blog! And there you will see the rest of the Design Teams creations plus the two new releases for this fortnight! You'll see the two cards I've made but I'll be blogging them tomorrow so check back then!

English Country Garden

So pretty scenery, flowers, butterflies - as long as you'd find it in an English country garden then enter it into the challenge! The closing date is 12noon GMT on Sunday 7 August and please visit the challenge blog for more inspiration.

The last challenge of the month means that the Design Team can delve into their hard drive or stamp box and use a non Polkadoodle stamp. I've used a digi stamp from Soft Pencil and coloured it with Aquamarkers.

All the papers are from various Polkadoodle cds and are from my offcuts box (I am trying to minimise what I add to it on a frequent basis!) The ribbon is actually ribbed plastic and is from my local scrap store along with the string tied through the buttons. The buttons are from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!

Digi Doodles Guest Designer for July - Anything Goes

It's my last week as Guest Designer for Digi Doodles Shops Best Challenge and this week the theme is:

Anything Goes

I simply could not resist this image (the sentiment comes with it) called Turkey in Disguise and I've coloured it with Promarkers and added some Basic Grey Dasher 12x12 paper as backing. Although it is a Thankgiving Turkey, he looks good for Christmas cards too! The layering has been made by combining two Nestie dies and drawing round them. A bit of inking and some dotted lines and the card is complete!

Thank you for having me these last few weeks - your images are wonderful to work with and thank you for your generosity too!

For more details on how to enter the challenge, pop over to the challenge blog and see the Design Team samples! Good luck in entering!

Mainly White with a Bit Of Silver

I know - its glorious sunshine today and here I am blogging Christmas Cards! These five clean and simple cards are for the Christmas All Year Around Challenge which asks for:

Mainly White and Bling

I've used an embossing folder that I got on a DoCrafts magazine a while ago and then layered it onto some pearlescent silver card.

The silver ribbon was originally around some card blanks and it was the perfect shade and size for my cards! A little tiny star has been punched from an offcut of the silver paper and added to the top of the tree.

I've also dotted a silver gel pen around the edge of the card and also the embossed image. A little bit of glitter glue has also been added to the tree here and there.

My cards fit the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion: Christmas In July
Pollycraft: Christmas In July
Christmas Inspirations: Anything Goes (Christmas)
Creative Inspirations: Christmas In July
The Craft Pad: Embossing
  • Embossing folder: Free with a DoCrafts magazine last year
  • Everything else: My stash

Fungi

I had an interesting conversation with the boys about this card. They wanted to know what I was doing so I explained that mushrooms are also called fungus or fungi if there is more than one. And if you say it differently it could also be a fun guy.

I think I lost them after mushrooms. Although Jacob did come back over to the table a while later and said that he understood my joke but he didn't find it funny. I said that when he was older he'd find it funny. "When I'm 6?" Possibly not.

Anyway, its for the Tiddly Inks challenge which asks for a:

Nature Inspired Film or Movie

Are you ready for my rationale?! Alice In Wonderland. And these do look very Burtonesque!

Coloured with Promarkers plus dabs of glossy accents on the spots. Layered onto spotty offcut from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download plus black and red card from my stash. Sentiment is computer generated.

I must admit I did have a giggle to myself when I decided on this particular image and the film reference!

My card also qualifies for the following challenges:

Funny / Humour
Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge: For The Boys - Especially For a Teenager
If The Shoe Fits: Ruby

  • Image: Tiddly Inks, coloured with Promarkers

First Christmas

I took advantage of the 90 digi images offer from Dustin Pike earlier in the week - 90 black and white images for $10 - bargain! And they were all Christmas themed but some could be used for other occasions. The current Dustin Pike challenge is:

Animals Rule

And here is one of the images from the set but made into two cards. I decided that I haven't got any special baby Christmas cards yet, so here are two!

Both use the bear and gift image and I've coloured them with Promarkers. The gift bow has had the glossy accents treatment although its not shown too well on the photos. All the papers are from my scrap box and I've doodled silver lines and dots around the edges.

Fluffy silver string is from my stash along with the confetti snowflakes and stars. Sentiments have been computer generated. I've followed the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch as I was wondering how I'd add all the elements together for the cards!

My cards fit the following challenges:

I Love Promarkers: Christmas In July
Sweet Stamps: Winter Blues

  • Images: Dustin Pike, coloured with Promarkers

Polkadoodle Challenge 29 - Christmas In July

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! Colette is our hostess this week and a girl after my own heart with a theme of

Christmas in July

I've used the wonderful Paper Boutique Boutique Vol 2 - Christmas Creative and made this cute fairy! She's A5 in size and all I did was print off the shapes and then layer them up with foam pads. The dress is layered and so the head has a fair few foam pads underneath otherwise she'd look like her head was shrunken! I've added gems to her crown and glitter glue to her dress and wings. And of course every fairy holds a star wand made from a cocktail stick!

Hope you can join in with the challenge - deadline is Sunday 31 July at 12noon GMT.

My card fits the following challenges:

Creative Belli: Christmas
Digi Stamps 4 Joy: Christmas in July
Flutter By Wednesdays: Open Theme but must use Angel, Butterfly or Fairy
Creative Craft Challenges: 3D It
Papertake Weekly: Getting Cute
Top Tip Tuesday: Shaped Cards
Delightful Challenges: Christmas in July

  • All elements: Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 2

Digi Doodles Guest Designer for July - Clean & Simple

This is my second contribution as Guest Designer for July for Digi Doodles Shops Best Challenges and this week the challenge is:

Clean and Simple

I've used the wonderful Special Delivery digi stamp and coloured him with Promakers plus a little glitter glue on the icing on the cupcake.

I used a roll of double sided tape for the shape as it was the perfect size and I deliberately had the leading foot coming out of the shape. A little bit of inking around the edges and I've dotted a line around the edge of the card and image shape. The red card is from my stash and I've had it for ages! It's the sort of card that never seems to get less and I'm sure the sheets I have are secretly multiplying!

Hope you can join in with the challenge this week - good luck! For more details, please pop over to the challenge blog and see the Design Team samples!

My card fits the following challenges:

Clear It Out Tuesday: Anything Goes
Incy Wincy: Black and White and One Other (mine is red)

Racing Car

Continuing with Jacob having a better social life than me, he's been invited to another Birthday party and this time its a go-kart themed one! And what a perfect image from Wags n Whiskers (I chose this as one of my winnings from a previous challenge - thank you!)

The Wags n Whiskers current challenge is:

Birthday

I've coloured it with Promarkers and the papers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download and I've used both the positive and negative spots. The black card is from my stash and I've added a little bit of inking and doodled a line around the edge.

The traffic light buttons are all from my stash - I had a great time trying to find 3 buttons the same size and in the right colours! And the divine twine is from the Ribbon Girl.

My card fits the following challenges:

Card Patterns: Sketch 124 used

Everybody Art Challenge: Dots

Here Come The Boys: Sporty

Pink Gem Challenge: Lets Hear It For The Boys

It's the third Wednesday of the month which can only mean an Inspiration theme board at Dude Time Doodles! Just look at all those reds! And what did I make? A Christmas card! Well red to me does mean Christmas! And here is St Nick checking his naughty or nice list! I've coloured him with Promarkers and have used a very versatile Father's Day download from Polkadoodles for my papers.

A bit of inking and doodling and my card is complete! The snowflakes are silver and are actually confetti although they do look a little black in the photo!

Do hope you can join in the challenge this week - for more details pop over to the Challenge blog and make sure you follow our few rules! Good luck!

As last week, I've made a card with a sheet of dull acetate (its sort of milky looking) and added the star brad threaded with Divine Twine from The Ribbon Girl plus the same colour has been wrapped around the card. Again, the waves have been made with a die cut that I've used as a template and the handmade paper was generously donated by Lynsey.

Corner Bookmarks

More new releases to share with you from Jellypark! This is the first time I've made bookmarks like this and I had to google a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers to work out how to make it as in my head it just was not working!

I've coloured the images with Promarkers and added some glossy accents to the balloons and hearts. The little sentiment comes with the digi stamp along with 'for you'. I've cut down some coloured card blanks as they were the best colour match (I'd coloured the images first - fatal!) and I found some spare printed papers in my box which are from Funky Daze by Funky Hand.

I've used two nesties for the shapes - the spotty paper I freehand cut as I didn't have one as an in between size. And I've used a Martha Steward edge punch for the fancy bottom.

And to finish, I've dotted a line around the edges with a silver gel pen (lilac bookmark) and gold gel pen (lemon bookmark). I've purposely not made these too bulky and they have been road tested on a dinosaur book!

If you like what you see and want more - just pop over to the Jellypark store where you can buy!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Little Miss Muffet: Anything But A Card
Crafts and Me Challenges: Summertime
Scrap, Stamp and Doodle: Bookmark

Yee Haw!

Well, howdy!! Do you like my little Woody character? I've made him from various Sizzix dies and he has real jeans too! He's available to buy (along with a lot of other characters from my website). I've added his lasso with some garden twine. The lettering I bought ages ago on ebay so I'm not sure what die was used to cut them.

All the papers are from A Work In Progress by Vicki and its an old kit and retired by now (sorry!) All I've added is a bit of inking and a faux running stitch around the outside - the papers do it all for me!I've used the current Sketch and Stash Challenge for inspiration (above) as the papers and embellishment I've had for ages!

I'd also like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cards For Men: Wild West
Charisma Cardz: It's In The Stars
Papercrafting Journey: For Him
Crafty Creations: Boyz to Men

  • Papers: From Vicki, A Work In Progress
  • Woody embellishment: My website - www.tiptoptoppers.co.uk
  • Everything else: My stash

Kick Off!

Jacob is Mr Popular at the moment at school judging by the number of parties he's been invited to! The latest one is not for a few weeks but its a football party, and I found the perfect image when going through my box of pre printed images. I've coloured to match Blackburn Rovers colours (well sort of although it looks suspiciously like Manchester City!) and I've used Promarkers.

The current Tiddly Inks challenge is:

Summer Movie

So this one will be Bend It Like Beckham. The gingham paper is from Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand and the solid blue is some pearlescent paper (donation from Lynsey!)

I've added a faux stitched line around the image and card. The small football embellishment was a button but I snipped the back off. The bottle cap was sent to me by Jenny. The two footballs at the side of the image are Sizzix die cuts as I remembered I had a sports die lurking at the box of my dies!

The divine twine is from The Ribbon Girl and I've printed the sentiment onto Safmat before layering up. And I've used another wonderful sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for inspiration!

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin' Challenge: One For The Boys
I Love Promarkers: Recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 2 buttons/gem/brads
Passion For Promarkers: Gingham
Crafters Companion: One For The Boys

  • Gingham Paper: Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand
  • Pearlescent Paper: Donation from Lynsey
  • Image: Tiddly Inks, coloured with Promarkers
  • Divine Twine: The Ribbon Girl
  • Sentiment: Computer generated and printed onto Safmat

Princess For A Day

Yesterday was New Release day at Jellypark! Claire has drawn some wonderful images and as part of the Design Team, I've been able to play!

This digi stamp is called Princess For A Day and she's been coloured with Promarkers plus a little stickles here and there! I've drawn round one of my Nesties to create the shape - it was originally just a square but I've made it into a rectangle.

The pink papers are from Funky Hand Craft The Year Away cd and the purple spotty one from Polkadoodles. I've dotted edges with liquid pearls. The sentiment is part of the digi stamp and I've threaded a princess charm through some string and attached it to the card with a brad. The flowers are all Prima - the lilac ones are Esprit. I've used the current sketch from The Sketch File but I've flipped it round to make it fit the image.

Watch out for another new release image coming very soon!

My card also fits the following challenges:

Pixie Dust Studios: Girly Girly
Southern Girls: Happy Birthday
Diva's By Design: Pastels
Ruby's Rainbow Challenges: Happy Birthday

  • Papers: Funky Hand and Polkadoodles
  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers and Stickles
  • Sentiment: Jellypark

Jellypark - Challenge 1 & Freebie!

The day is finally here! The very first Jellypark challenge and what a fab challenge we have for you! You need to pop over to the challenge blog to snag the very cute snowman that Claire has designed and to enter the challenge! You don't need to use the snowman to enter the challenge, but it's so cute - how can you resist?!

I've used him (he is a him - for this card at least!) on my card which I think looks a bit like a giant snowball! He's been coloured with Promarkers and added to the card with foam pads. All the papers are from Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 paper stack and I've dotted the edges with liquid pearls (becoming a bit of an obsession!)

I've added some wonderfully co-ordinated shiny parcel ribbon (bought from the Poundshop last year) to hide the paper joins, added some very fluffy (and gets everywhere!) silver stringy stuff and attached it with brads. I wasn't going to attempt glue as it would get messy and I've not got the patience for it to dry! To finish, I've added two silver confetti snowflakes.

Hope you can enter the challenge - it runs for two weeks. For more details and to see the rest of the Design Teams creations, please go to the challenge blog! Good luck!

And if that's not enough, there are some new release digi stamps over in the Jellypark shop. I'll be blogging what I've made with them over the next day or so, but lets say that they are very cute, very easy to work with and a very good price!

The female version will be blogged later today so watch out for her!

My card qualifies for the following challenges:

Digi Stamps 4 Joy: Christmas in July
Celebrate the Occasion: Shaped Christmas Card
Scrap Creations: At Least 2 Papers and 2 Embellishments

  • Image: Jellypark, coloured with Promarkers
  • Papers: Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 stack
  • Everything else: My stash

If you're not the proud owner of anything Funky Hand then fear not! If you click here you will be taken to the download section on the Funky Hand website where there is a freebie for the month and the best bit is that it fits with my theme!

I'm actually combining the challenge theme with the boy's Birthday's which are both early September. So at least I know I'm organised for that part!

I've made two word books. Jacob's uses papers from Now That's Funky (a steal at £7.99!) and I've made the letters using wordart. The stars are from the current funky freebie and I've added glossy accents to them. The raffia is from my stash which I've had for about 2 years and I sort of refound it when looking for something else! I think there are 10 different colours in the pack and probably 5 metres of each and all for 99p!!

Samuel's is in a similar colour theme and this time I've used papers from Funky Daze (again at £7.99!) and also made the letters in wordart. He's got tiny star punches all over his.

I do like making wordbooks and I find that once I start making them I can't stop! And because I don't (yet) have a bind-it all machine, I have to be inventive with how I attach the pages of the word book to each other!

Hope you can join in with the challenge - the winner gets a download of their choice and the closing date for entries is 14 August - so a whole month to get creating! Good luck!

Polkadoodles Challenge 28 - Summer

Welcome to another Polkadoodles challenge! Already we are upto week 28 which means we are getting closer to Christmas! But this week the challenge is all about summer!

I've made two sets of simple notecards with summery images! Both sets use the Sundae of Season's cd and I used the cropping tool on Adobe to select the area I wanted to print. And then repeated the image onto a sheet of A4 card so I could cut it all out as one. The beach huts fit 3 to a sheet of A4 and the kits 4 to the same sized sheet. The trickiest bit was doing the measuring to make sure that all the cards were the same size!

I've doodled a line around the edges of each card and used buttons from my stash. The button twine is from The Ribbon Girl.
I had a great time choosing which buttons to go with each set! The kites show off three of the colours in the kite with the beach huts going for a pearlescent or white button.

Good luck with the challenge - closing date is Sunday 24 July at 12noon GMT and please remember our rules!

My cards fit the following challenges:

Crafts and Me: Summertime
Divas By Design: Pastels (beach huts)
Papertake Weekly: Hot colours (kites)
Party Time Tuesday's: Blue Skies and Sunny Days
  • All images: Sundae of Seasons cd
  • Button Twine: The Ribbon Girl
  • Everything else: My stash

Digi Doodles Guest Designer for July - DIY Flowers

Good news! I've been asked to be the Guest Designer for the remainer of July over at Digi Doodles Shop's Best Challenges! How fab is that! And the challenge for this week is:

Make Your Own Flowers

I've recently found my stash of paper raffia in the cupboard whilst looking for something else and with around 10 colours in the pack and at 99p for 5 metres of each I don't know why I've not used it sooner! So I decided to try my hand at some flowers! They've not quite turned out as neat as I expected but that is probably because I kept getting my finger stuck in the middle when I was winding the strip around it!

The papers are from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download which is a really fab download as its got, well, all the colours of the rainbow in both positive and negative so it will match any project! I've layered onto black card and inked edges. The lace is actually underware lace and I got it from the scrap store ages ago!

Good luck with the challenge - go to the challenge blog for more details!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts Inks: Summer Birthday's
Shopping Our Stash: In With The Old or In With The New (very old I'm going for!)
Papertake Weekly: Hot Colours
Tuesday Trio: Sketch and Lace
Happileigh Scrapping: Critters
Pollycraft Challenge: The Great Outdoors
Stamps R Us Challenge: Through The Garden Gate

Winter Scene

I know! Another Christmas card! This time I've dug out some of the Penny Black stamped images that I have and coloured it with my Aquamarkers which actually save me time as they are so easy to use - I find I can colour almost two images with Aquamarkers to every Promarker coloured image! I've used papers from the Dovecraft Let It Snow 12x12 glittered stack - I really do like these papers and will be so sad when I've exhausted them! The ribbon I found in my stash and is actually a better colour match than the photo shows. It was actually really sunny when I took the photo hence the shadows and sorry it is a little dark.

The snowflake is a Sizzix die (my most recent purchase when on holiday!) and I've inked it and added some glitter glue to the tips and middle.

My card fits the following challenges:

Penny Black: Christmas in July
Sweet Stop Sketches: Sketch (above)

Shopping Our Stash: Out With The Old or In With The New (my brand new Sizzix snowflake die!)

Use It Tuesday: Animals (brand new Sizzix die used and roll of ribbon that I discovered at the bottom of a box!)
