A bit of faux stitching and I was advised by Jacob that he liked the red stretchy ribbon so that got used plus I've had it for about 2 years! Sentiment is a Studio G acrylic stamp.

I've distressed the edges with scissors and added some string from the kitchen drawer. You can buy her digital kits here.

I've used the pre coloured A5 template, cut out all the elements and then layered them up with foam pads - you even get a layered reverse of the card too which you can use if you want! All I've added are glossy accents to the nose and wobbly eyes - everything else is from the cd! And if you want a blue neckerchief and bow then they are on there too plus extras such as bones and bowls! Good luck with the challenge, you have two weeks to enter and for more details, please visit the challenge blog!

Simply Create Challenge 47 - Silhouettes

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! This fortnight the challenge is:

Silhouettes

I've made two cards with some freebies downloaded from Papercraft Inspirations. I've simply printed the images onto pale cream cardstock, rounded the edges and then layered them onto either silver or gold pearlescent paper then onto the card blank.

I've tied a big ribbon to the gold card and then with the silver card I've created some loops as the ribbon wasn't quite long enough! A pearlescent bead heart covers the glue area!

For a bit of decoration I've added some tiny flat backed pearls randomly over the little flowers on the image.

Really nice and quick to make! Good luck with the challenge - for more details and inspiration from the rest of the Design Team pop over to the challenge blog!

These cards fit the following challenges:

Dream Valley Challenges:
Ribbon
One Stitch At A Time: Wedding / Sympathy

Simply Create Challenge 46 - Wings

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! The theme this fortnight is:

Wings

But I've interpreted it slightly differently as you can see! I've made a shaped helicopter card using the template from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3. The wings element is the flying aspect of the helicopter! I've used the A5 pre coloured template, cut all the shapes out and then layered up using foam pads.

The helicopter is attached with a strip of acetate and helps to support the card with its 'feet'. Hope you can join in the challenge this fortnight -for more details, please visit the challenge blog! Good luck!

And if you've not already popped over to the Fetch A Sketch pre launch party - please do so! Some candy on offer to two lucky commenters plus some extra prizes along the way! The Fetch A Sketch challenges launch on Monday 27 June at 9am!

Simply Create Challenge 45 - Dad

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! Father's Day (in the UK) is approaching fast so that is your challenge this week:

For A Dad - and use the word

I've made a simple wordbook using papers from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download and I've used the positive and negative dark green spots! The letters were made in Wordart and then I cut them out and added them to the card with foam pads then drew around the inside of each letter for more definition.

The small silver letters that appear to float, are actually attached to a strip of acetate and I've used my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet dies to cut them out. String and snaps are from my stash. Good luck with the challenge - its open until 16 June - for more details please check the challenge blog!

This also fits with the following challenges:

Lexi's Creations: Father's Day / Man's Card

Karen's Doodles: Father's Day

Simon Says: Father's Day / For A Male

Scrapbook Sisters: Male

  • All papers: Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download

Simply Create Challenge 44 - Special Day

Welcome to another Simply Create Challenge! This time the theme is:

Special Day

So you can interpret that how you wish - the challenge ends Thursday 2 June and for more details please visit the challenge site where you can also see the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!

I've made two cards for the challenge as they were so quick and easy to do! I've used a ready to print horseshoe template from The Clip Art Fairy (bargain for 50p!) I've printed the background directly onto the cardstock (prints as a 15cm square card) then I layered up two of the horseshoe images with foam pads for each card.

I've then added, to each card, a hat pin made by myself, ribbons, flowers and half pearls.

This is such a lovely template to use and I'd made both the cards in an hour - the glue took longer to dry though!

Good luck with the challenge!

Simply Create Challenge 43 - Mum's Sayings

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! This fortnight, the challenge is:

Mum's / Mom's Sayings

As Mothers Day has passed in the UK, I've decided to make a small set of note cards for everyday use and I've used three sentiments from Raindrop Echo Designs. I always used to struggle with adding sentiments to cards and it would just be the standard, Happy Birthday's, but now I've discovered Raindrop Echo Designs, the sky is the limit!

And I am liking the clean look of these, I could just make some more!! I've used two of my Nesties dies for the shapes, some grosgrain ribbon from my stash which matched the papers perfectly (Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand) plus I'm using up some of the leftovers in my overflowing box. I've added a pin of my own design - there are some little smiley faces on the tiny stars - you just can't see them in the photo!

Hope you can join in with the challenge - for more details, please visit the challenge blog!

  • Papers: Craft The Year Away from Funky Hand
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities

I've used MC Squared as my image and he's been coloured with Promarkers. I've used a silver card blank from my stash as my base and layered the image and sentiment onto black card and silver holographic card. The patterned strip is from the Salt and Pepper download from Funky Hand. Sentiment is from TLC.

Simply Create Challenge 41 - All About Eggs

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! We are getting masses of entries for each challenge - thank you! We do enjoy looking through all your creations - so keep them coming! As Easter is approaching, the theme this fortnight is:

All About Eggs

I've made two very cute pouches with a free template download from Waltzing Mouse. I've printed it directly onto papers from Craft The Year Away cd from Funky Hand and the little furry things you see poking out, have been drawn by our very own Trish!
I've coloured them with Promarkers then added a strip of acetate to their reverse and pinned it with a We R Memory Keepers snap to the pocket. The front of the pocket has been inked and the corner pulled down and secured with a brad. And then filled with eggs! These will be for the boys - they've seen me making them but without the eggs so they've not realised what they are! Good luck with the challenge - hope you can join us!

Simply Create Challenge 40 - DIY

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! Our Design Team has expanded too - all of us are listed in my sidebar and we are a truly International Team!!

This fortnight the challenge is:

DIY (Do It Yourself)

I've gone for one of the fantastic template cards from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3 and this wonderful interactive card, perfect for the handyman in your life!

I've simply cut out all the elements - there are different sizes on the cd - and layered them up how I wanted. A little bit of doodling here and there and the card is complete!

Although it looks complicated, it probably only took around 2 hours to make - and that is including printing all the elements, cutting them out and gluing together!

I've not added any of my own embellishments to this but probably will before I send it!

Good luck with the challenge - click here to go to the Simply Create challenge blog for more details and how to enter!

Simply Create Challenge 39 - Monochromatic

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! We are also looking to add to our Design Team - have a look at the challenge blog for more details!

This fortnight the challenge is

Monochromatic

And although that translates to any shade of one colour, I decided to go for black and white. Nothing to do with reading it wrong.....! I've made a handbag with papers from The Big One from Clare Curd Signature Range - this didn't even use a full sheet of the 12x12 papers!

I've used some of the flower images to layer up and add seed beads to the centres plus also adding the beads to the corners of the bag and to the flap at the top. It closes with a Queen and Co pointy thing and a black square brad I found in my stash.

The ribbon used for the handle is also from my stash. Despite it looking quite complex, it was pretty easy and simple to make - the worst bit was gluing all the seed beads on and getting them stuck to me!
Good luck with the challenge - it is open until 24 March and for more details go to the Challenge blog and whilst you are there, have a look at the Design Team samples - some stunning cards!

Simply Create Challenge 38 - Say It With Flowers

Welcome to another Simply Create challenge! This fortnight we want you to

Say It With Flowers

I've used one of the templates from the new Polkadoodles cd Paper Boutique Vol 3 and printed it A5 size and pre-coloured. All the elements were then cut out and layered up - really easy and you can make it as layered as you want - with foam pads then I added some sparkle to the flower centres and hand wrote the sentiment.

There is a little hidden extra with the card - the centre part actually pops out and the message could be written on there too! Really effective but easy to make!

Good luck with the challenge - you have until Thursday 10 March to get your entry in! For more details pop over to the Simply Create challenge blog and whilst you are there have a look at the other Design Team samples!

This fortnight we are sponsored by Robyns Fetish and the design team have been sent some images to play with! The theme is:

Bold and Bright

I've used this cute image, coloured her with Promarkers and added some glitter glue and made her into a shaped bookmark!

The bright pink backing card is from my stash along with the ribbon (which is actually a perfect match although the photo does not show it) and the flower pewter brad. Good luck with the challenge - for more details on how to enter please see the challenge blog!

Simply Create Challenge 36 - Show Us Your Heart!

It's time for a new challenge on Simply Create! Judging by the amount of entries for our last challenge, you like our themes! Thank you for entering each time and I will get round to leaving comments - it's just the last two weeks have passed in a blur but I'm back on top of things now!

Anyway, the challenge this fortnight is

Show Us Your Heart

I've made this very easy card using a Kraft card blank (oh how I am enjoying these!) a bit of doodling around the edges plus some off cuts of patterned card I found in my stash from Kirsty Wisemans Patti Picklicious cd.

I've punched the two red hearts, glued the bunting and hearts to the string and then added some brads. You may think it is very similar to a card I showed earlier in the week - well, that one came first and this one second!

The stamp is a freebie I got from a magazine a while ago. Good luck with the challenge - for further details and how to enter, pop over to Simply Create and have a look whilst you are there at the other Design Team samples - very fantastic they are!

Good luck!
